India registered a comprehensive win over England to clinch their fifth Under-19 World Cup title earlier this month. The Boys in Blue showed nerves of steel throughout the tournament even after losing their key players, including their skipper Yash Dhull, due to Covid. The team had to overcome various challenges on the field but their journey to the triumph off the field too was a challenging one.
Several Indian players and staff members tested positive for Covid during the Under-19 World Cup in the Caribbean. The Indian team was forced to play a few matches without their captain Dhull and vice-captain Shaik Rasheed.
Congratulations to India's Under-19 cricket team for winning the World Cup.

Weeks after bringing the World Cup home, Team India's manager Lobzang G. Tenzing has opened up on the ordeal that the team had to go through in the West Indies due to lethargic authorities.
“Our time in Guyana was tough to say the least. When I and my colleagues were down with COVID, no medical help was provided, no doctor, no medicines. Our team physio came to our rescue. It was like a system failure."
“In the hotel we stayed there were no separate floors for teams. We were staying on the same floor as other hotel guests. There was nobody to man the isolation period. The rooms did not have regular running water and players faced food issues," Tenzing was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

The tournament was held in the West Indies and Tenzing said it was not the best place to host the World Cup due to logistical challenges.
"It (hosting tournament in the Caribbean) poses additional logistical issues and people were lethargic,” the India Under-19 team manager added.
Congratulations to the India team on winning the @ICC U-19 Men's World Cup for the 5th time. A truly remarkable feat & has made the country proud. I laud the Team Manager Mr. Lobzang G. Tenzing of @sikkim_cricket & the support staff. Wishes for more success in the days to come. pic.twitter.com/PPF2i4HtC6

Tenzing, who is the president of Sikkim Cricket Association, also mentioned that the facilities during the U19 World Cup were so poor that even the state associations in India would have managed to do a better job.
“During practice games, the stadium had no water in the washrooms. I can safely say we, state units and the BCCI do a much better job staging domestic events in a bio-secure environment,” added Tenzing.
In a time when the whole world is battling the Covid crisis, it is sad to see that the International Cricket Council failed to offer even the basic services such as food and water to the visiting teams.

Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa is one of the most polarised films to come out of Hindi film industry in recent times.
While there are people who termed it an absolute classic, there are others who called it a borefest.
In any case, the film has become one of the most talked about on social media. And recently, an Australian journalist took to Twitter to point out a continuity error in a scene featuring Ananya Panday.

Sharing two screenshots from the film, she mentioned, “One thing unresolved in #Gehraiyaan is how Tia’s glass transformed in this scene when she never put it down?”

Take a look at her tweet below:

Responding to her tweet, a user said that these are two different scenes that she is mentioning. The journo then shared a video clip of the same scene to prove her point.

There were others who mocked the film and also Ananya Panday’s “struggle” in Bollywood.

“Struggle of holding big glass,” one user wrote. Another tweeted, “No end to Ananya Pandey's struggles! Jeez”.
“Ye Inka struggle hai”, wrote another social media user.

Alia Bhatt-starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is among the most-hyped films of 2022. Slated to hit the theatres on February 25, the movie also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Ajay Devgn, Vijay Raaz among others in important roles. Its trailer and songs have received a favorable response from moviegoers, who are eagerly waiting to witness Bhansali's magic on the big screen once again.
    View this post on Instagram
As everyone is waiting for the film's release, Gangubai Kathaiwadi is making headlines for several wrong reasons too. While Gangubai's son recently made his displeasure clear for portraying her mother as a prostitute on screen, Kangana Ranaut too objected to a viral video.
In the clip, a little influencer Hariti, who's a child actor, is seen imitating 'Gangubai' while enacting Alia's dialogues and mannerisms from the film. The video went viral and Alia too shared it on her social media account. Watch it here:
    View this post on Instagram
Taking a dig at the Highway star's promotional antics, Kangana slammed the little girl's parents who allowed her to do such things. She said, "Should this child imitate a *** worker with a beedi in her mouth and crude and obscene dialogues? Look at her body language, is it ok to sexualize her at this age? There are hundreds of other children who are being used similarly".
    View this post on Instagram
Alia has now finally reacted to the video and Kangana's criticism. The actress stated that it was made in zest and she did not find it offensive. Talking to India.com, she said, "I thought it was very cute. I am assuming that it’s not done without the supervision of an elder. If the elder, who’s hopefully, her mother or father or sister or a loved one, is okay with it, then I don’t think we should have any issues with it as people".
We wonder what Kangana has to say about Alia's reaction.
For the unversed, Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a chapter from Hussain Zaidi's book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Alia is playing the role of Gangubai, a gun-wielding brothel owner who was among the most popular and powerful in Kamathipura during the 1960s. Reportedly, at an early age, she was sold into prostitution and became popular in the city as some of the most notorious criminals were her clients.
Here's the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi:

Fame and disgrace are two sides of the same coin. Both stem out from first being popular and while one is the outcome of being popular for the right reasons, the latter is when you’re in the news for all the wrong reasons. And it turns out that BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has recently been on both sides.
    © Ashneer Grover
Having recently appeared on the hit reality show ‘Shark Tank India’ as one of the ‘sharks’, Ashneer quickly became one of the most meme-able panelists on the show for his blunt and crude remarks.

However, not long after, controversies regarding alleged financial fraud and certain allegations of ‘abusive phone calls’ to Kotak Mahindra Bank employees, started surfacing. Before we knew it, he was put on ‘voluntary leave’ by the board, which later Ashneer called not-so-voluntary after all.
    © Ashneer Grover
And now as per the latest development, trouble strikes at the Grover household once again as services of Madhuri Jain Grover, head of controls of BharatPe and wife of founder Ashneer Grover, have been terminated by the board on allegations of misappropriation of funds, as per reports.

A source shared, “Her contract has been terminated. Reasons for termination are misappropriation of funds and authorisation of inflated bills, among other things." And safe to say, the news hasn’t been well received by Madhuri Jain Grover in the slightest, proof being her recent twitter thread.
And treat women like objects like I’ve been treated in the whole episode with the male chauvinistic Board supporting you. @timesofindia @htTweets @chandrarsrikant @bharatpeindia @BhavikKoladiya @SuhailSameer14 @HarshjitSethi @mickymalka pic.twitter.com/Eh8ffbvSNO
    — Madhuri Jain Grover (@madsj30) February 23, 2022
Taking to the micro-blogging site to give her two cents on the decision, Madhuri started off by writing, “Congrats @SuhailSameer14 @BhavikKoladiya and Shashvat Nakrani. Now you may indulge in your ‘drunken orgies’ without having to wait for me (righteous lady) to leave office. Slow clap !!”
And drink and smoke in office and burn the place down ! For you have no pain for what @Ashneer_Grover built single handedly and you snatched !! @SuhailSameer14 @BhavikKoladiya @bharatpeindia @timesofindia @HindustanTimes pic.twitter.com/bFXIaootQe
    — Madhuri Jain Grover (@madsj30) February 23, 2022
She went on to say, “And treat women like objects like I’ve been treated in the whole episode with the male chauvinistic Board supporting you.” All this, accompanied by videos of Suhail, Shashvat and Bhavik (among other employees of the company) partying and drinking in the office premises.
And these are the people @SuhailSameer14 sitting on Governance Review and passing judgement on me ! Great work by @sequoia and @HarshjitSethi and Chairman Rajnish Kumar for a perfectly executed witch hunt with your accomplices @sumeetsingh29 and @BhavikKoladiya. @bharatpeindia
    — Madhuri Jain Grover (@madsj30) February 23, 2022
Accusing others of stealing what Ashneer Grover ‘built single-handedly’, Madhuri wrote, “And drink and smoke in office and burn the place down ! For you have no pain for what @Ashneer_Grover built single handedly and you snatched !!”
Calling what happened to her a ‘witch hunt’, She said, “And these are the people @SuhailSameer14 sitting on Governance Review and passing judgement on me ! Great work by @sequoia and @HarshjitSethi and Chairman Rajnish Kumar for a perfectly executed witch hunt with your accomplices @sumeetsingh29 and @BhavikKoladiya. @bharatpeindia”

    — Sanket Baviskar (@SanketBaviskar3) February 23, 2022 Meanwhile, people on the twitter can’t help themselves but wonder if this is a ‘If I’m going down, I am taking you down with me’ moment.
Where's the "drunken orgies" in any of the video?? Looks like coworkers drinking after work
    — Swiiiishhhhh (@timdunkcan) February 23, 2022So, playing “woman” card after financial fraud is caught is an acceptable way of absolving oneself of responsibility. I will take note of that
    — Mark Baum Fan (@markbaumfan) February 23, 2022One user wrote, “This can only happen in India. You can play woman card on almost anything,” while another one wrote, “Where's the "drunken orgies" in any of the video?? Looks like coworkers drinking after work.”
Went through the thread for drunken orgies. Another fraud by Grover duo
    — Humse Kya (@HumseKya) February 23, 2022Yes, that's it. Take everyone down with you
    — Saklam muklam (@soma_lingam) February 23, 2022Madhuri can now enjoy all the time posting videos now that she is kicked out for alleged fraud
    — CP (@CP_Rome) February 23, 2022An official word from the BharatPe board is yet to come out about the latest development, but it seems like Madhuri already had a head start here.

Wriddhiman Saha was asked by former Indian bowler Venkatesh Prasad to name the 'so-called' journalist who sent him the threatening messages on his phone. This comes after Saha said on Twitter that he has decided not to name the renowned journalist out of respect for his humanity.
Replying to the wicketkeeper-batter’s post on Twitter, Prasad wrote:
"There is a verse in the Bhagvad Gita which translates to - "Tolerating injustice is as much a crime as committing injustice. It Is Your Duty To Fight Injustice." It is important for Wriddhiman Saha to name this person. It will definitely set a good example.”
There is a verse in the Bhagvad Gita which translates to-
"Tolerating injustice is as much a crime as committing injustice. It Is Your Duty To Fight Injustice."

It is important for Wriddhiman Saha to name this person. It will definitely set a good example. https://t.co/IBteuhiotS
    — Venkatesh Prasad (@venkateshprasad) February 22, 2022
Many fans who saw Prasad’s tweet were in complete agreement with the former Indian cricketer and backed up his urge to Saha to expose the name of the journalist who had threatened him for not doing an interview with him after Saha was dropped from the Indian Test cricket team for the upcoming series against the touring Sri Lanka side.
    Venky what a legend https://t.co/dj62Kbn94b

    — Hakuna Matata (@ProudPahariya) February 22, 2022However, there were also a lot of people who weren’t happy that Prasad had quoted something so holy and important in order to get one person’s name out in the public. They felt that it was unnecessary and was just another way of being in the news and raising their social media engagement with the fans of Indian cricket.
The argument was that former players like Prasad would always have the number of Saha and this conversation could have taken place over the phone. But the fact that he quoted the Hindu scripture online upset a lot of people and made them feel like it was no more than a social media stunt.
Despite of tweeting here, dial a call to him. Wt you said is correct, this I injustice to him. He should tell the journo name in the public. It helps not only for him but also for other players. If he still hesitates to tell the name then these issues will never end in future

    — Srini (@softsignalout) February 22, 2022The Indian Cricketers Association (ICA) joined Venkatesh Prasad in expressing support for Wriddhiman Saha after the 37-year-old took to social media to post remarks from a "renowned writer."
The body said it applauded the BCCI's move to investigate the situation and has asked the Indian cricketing body to punish the journalist and, if necessary, revoke his accreditation. Former Indian cricketers have also endorsed Saha's decision to divulge the journalist's identity.
1/3- I was hurt and offended. I thought not to tolerate such kind of behaviour and didn’t want anyone to go through these kind of bullying. I decided I will go out and expose the chat in public eye, but not his/her name
    — Wriddhiman Saha (@Wriddhipops) February 22, 2022
Wriddhiman Saha, on the other hand, has yet to name the journalist, claiming that it is not in his nature to take any action that could jeopardise the journalist's career and that he will not take the journalist's name on humanitarian grounds.
Wriddhiman Saha had already lashed out at the BCCI by revealing bombshell details about the promises he was given by BCCI president Sourav Ganguly about his spot in the Team India team. He also revealed to the world that the head coach of the Men in Blue, Rahul Dravid also advised him to take retirement after the BCCI told him that they will not be considering him for team selections any longer.

Ekta Kapoor’s upcoming reality show Lock Upp has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The show which will be hosted by Kangana Ranaut is touted to be as controversial as it gets.
Recently, it was announced that stand up comedian Munawar Faruqui will be one of the contestants on the show. Soon after the announcement was made, a lot of people including his fans expressed disappointment and wondered why he decided to work with Kangana as they come from different ideologies and have been at loggerheads in the past.
    © Alt Balaji
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Munawar opened up about coming on board for Lock Upp, joining hands with Kangana and the controversies surrounding him.

“I thought it would be my getaway but I have been told they have planned bigger torture for us,” Munawar said.
He then added, “Honestly, there are fans who follow you, and there are people who hate you for no reason. Then, there are some who don’t really know you. This show is not just about me as people may tune in for the host and the other contestants. However, they will also get to know me. I have always been a real person and I think with this show, you will see my unfiltered personality.”
When asked why decided to participate in a show that will be highly controversial, he responded, “Firstly, I don’t think there’s anything wrong in being controversial. It only means that people did not hear your side of the story, or maybe you were taken out of context. I never wanted to be a part of controversies. I never went and told the media my statement to cause some bawaal (commotion). The part of my video that had hurt people, I removed it immediately. It was the public that played it around for a year and made it news. I never wanted to be controversial, they made me so. I was happy doing comedy and celebrating my 100 million numbers.”
    © Alt Balaji
Lock Upp will stream on Alt Balaji and MX Player for free from February 27.
