Die-hard Hardik Pandya fans were taken aback when they saw their hero fighting with the opponents in the WWE NXT rings as a professional wrestler. Soon Twitter was abuzz with varied comments. Some were surprised, some shocked and some questioned why did he choose to take such a risk despite his age-old back injuries that are keeping him out of action on cricket grounds.
The matter got sorted out only when it was revealed that it is not Hardik Pandya but his lookalike American wrestler Carmelo Hayes who was fighting in the rings. Once again the fans were surprised by the stark similarity in the looks of both the players. Fans smiled with disbelief. In fact, the truth was revealed on Twitter by Carmelo himself when he wrote – “he has me trending, much love”

    — UቿҜᗩ尺ꌚዘ (@UtkarshRatedR23) November 12, 2021Carmelo was delighted to note that he is trending in a huge fan base like India and that too due to his similarity in looks with that of a cricket star-like Pandya.
Pandya has a humongous fan base not only in India but also in Pakistan and other cricketing nations around the globe. He has acquired this place due to proven power as a right-arm medium pace all-rounder. He has won many international matches for India single handily.

However, of late Hardik has been in and out of the Indian playing XI due to his reoccurring back injuries. His last appearance for India was in the T29 World Cup 2021. He could not ball regularly during the World Cup. Though, he had some solid knocks as a batsman. But, his uncertain availability as a bowler is a matter of concern for Team India that makes his selection doubtful for the international assignments.
Hardik has been recently bagged by the new IPL franchisee Gujrat Titans at a price of INR 15 Crores. The Baroda lad has also been handed over the responsibility of the skipper to lead the franchise in the best cricket league in the upcoming IPL 2022.
