Former India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane paid the price for his inconsistent form when he was dropped from India’s Test squad last week for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
Along with Rahane, several other senior players Cheteshwar Pujara, Wriddhiman Saha and Ishant Sharma were also shown the exit door by the senior national selection panel and were asked to play Ranji Trophy for their respective state units.

On his return to the domestic circuit after a long time, the Mumbai batter stole the limelight by scoring a century against defending champions Saurashtra in the first innings as the match ended in a draw.

It was the first century to have come off Rahane’s bat in over 12 months. His knock had increased the hopes of his fans who wanted him to succeed in domestic cricket and make a comeback to the Indian team.

However, they were all left disappointed on Thursday morning when the right-handed batter got out for a three-ball duck in the first innings against Goa. Rahane was trapped leg before by young fast bowler Lakshay Garg.

Even when Rahane was in the Indian team, consistency was an issue and that’s what cost him his place in the side. After he failed to open his account, theΒ  people started trolling him, saying that the old habits don’t die that easily and he had returned to his normal.

    Legend for a reason
β€” Chicha Snoop (@vader__11) February 24, 2022Another Test veteran Pujara also failed cheaply in the first innings of Saurahstra's second game of the season against Odisha. He scored two boundaries during his brief stay in the middle and was dismissed for eight runs.
    Β© Reuters
Both Rahane and Pujara have served the Indian cricket team for a long time and have played a key role in the team's success all over the world.

However, their poor form has forced the selectors to look for their alternatives. Although the selectors have not shut the door on them completely, it’s hard to see them making a comeback to the red-ball squad.
The only way both these senior players can force the selectors to pick them is by piling runs on a consistent basis. These hits and misses are not going to help their cause.

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has been rumoured to be dating actress Saba Azad ever since the duo got snapped together at dinner dates several times. While both of them are yet to confirm their relationship status, there is a continuous buzz that they are dating each other.
    View this post on Instagram
A few days after the Krrish star was seen dancing his heart out at close friend and actor Farhan Akhtar's wedding with Shibani Dandekar, the latest reports suggest that Hrithik too is thinking about tying the knot with rumoured girlfriend Saba. Yes, you read that right!

    View this post on Instagram
Reportedly, Hrithik is 'very serious' about his relationship with Saba and is considering marriage. Looks like both of them are happy together and want to be in a relationship like Farhan and Shibani.

Revealing the same, a source informed BollywoodLife, "Hrithik is very serious for Saba, and he wants to take his relationship ahead. He is planning to get married. However, nothing has been decided yet. The two are extremely happy in this space and are spending a lot of quality time together to know each other even more. Hrithik who recently attended buddy Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding was extremely happy and even desired to have one relationship like this. And looks like Saba is the one for him".
    View this post on Instagram
The source added, "Hrithik doesn’t want to jump the gun and he will gradually take his time to take his relationship to another level, but he definitely has marriage on his mind. Hrithik doesn’t want a media glare on his relationship and wants to keep a low key. Even if the superstar plans to get married it wouldn’t be a grand event but a small ceremony just like Farhan and Shibani".Β
However, only time will tell if it's true or not. For now, Hrithik and Saba are still tight-lipped about their relationship.Β
    View this post on Instagram
For the unversed, the duo reportedly met on Twitter. It all started when the Kaabil actor, on Twitter, had liked a video featuring a known rapper and Saba. Since Hrithik knew the makers, he addressed the post to them. Later, Saba reached out to the superstar to thank him and that's how the duo got talking on DMs.

Not that I’ve ever met the President, but there are a lot of times when I do wonder what it would be like to meet the President of my country or any other for that matter. What would I be wearing, how would I conduct myself, how would I greet them and exactly which topics of global importance would I touch upon to sound intelligent.
And while in my head, I make teeny-tiny lists for all of these, one thing that I would definitely scratch off, is breaking any sort of security protocol that comes with meeting with the president. Especially, when you’re meeting the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.

Conor McGregor, an Irish professional mixed martial artist and also the former UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) champion, is called the β€˜Notorious’ one, and rightly so. Unfazed by anyone and anything that attacks him in the ring, he is fierce when it comes to fighting. But the one time that even Conor felt fear, was when he met Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The two-weight UFC champion was in Moscow back in 2018, attending the World Cup final when he got the chance to meet the President of Russia, ahead of France's 4-2 win over Croatia.

Deeply honoured and humbled to have met Vladimir, a video of the two meeting and greeting was recorded and put up on McGregor's YouTube channel 'TheMacLife'. The video captured the brief interaction between the two and also captured something rare and unusual - fear and discomfort on McGregor’s face.
As the UFC champion was posing for a picture with the President, he happened to put his arm over Vladimir’s shoulder, and that was enough to trigger a reaction out of Vladimir Putin’s security.Β
    Β© McGregor
His guard immediately asked Conor to get his hand down mid-photo, to which Conor humbly obliged. And while doing so, his change in expression said everything about how seriously to take a President of a country and his security protocols.

    Β© McGregor_YouTube
Infact, people noticed this and stopped hilarious comments like, β€œMcGregor: puts his arm around Putin. "Security: So you have chosen death." Another one wrote, β€œImagine McGregor punching Putin and then entire Ireland is gone from the map."

One even joked by saying, β€œSince that day McGregor's double has been doing an incredible job."

Every cricket fan is eagerly waiting for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to reveal the schedule for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).Β

While there is still no clarity about the schedule and venue, a Times of India report states that the other franchises are not happy with the Mumbai Indians gaining unfair home advantage as 55 games are set to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians' home ground.Β
The report states that the IPL will begin in the last week of March and will be played in Maharashtra. An IPL governing council meeting is scheduled to be held on February 24 where a final call could be taken by the officials.Β

    β€” Rohit Sharma (@ImRo45) April 12, 2019
"None of the other teams are getting home matches. It will be unfair if MI play a lot of their matches at Wankhede, which has been their den for years. The franchises have raised this concern. The franchises don't have an issue with Mumbai Indians play bulk of their matches at DY Patil stadium and in Pune. Even the Brabourne stadium is fine. Hopefully, the BCCI will look into the matter," a franchise source told The Times of India.Β

None of the teams have played in their home grounds for over two years now due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 season was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) while the previous season was held in two stages -- one in India and one in the UAE.Β

The biggest challenge to stage the IPL across India will be the travelling of 10 teams.Β
In the current situation with the Covid pandemic still keeping things uncertain, the BCCI would want to limit the travelling because they have seen what could happen when multiple venues were used last year.Β
It led to a Covid outbreak among several teams, forcing the organisers to move the T20 league out of India and a repeat of the same would negatively impact the reputation of IPL.

Priyanka Chopra, who recently welcomed her first child with her husband Nick Jonas via surrogacy, has finally reacted to comedian Rosie O'Donnell's public apology for calling her the daughter of Deepak Chopra, the Indian-American author.Β
She stated that when she asked Priyanka about it, she got a little awkward. PeeCee then informed Rosie that Chopra was a common Indian surname.Β

Rosie, in a video, remarked that she wondered whether she was the only one who thought Nick married Deepak Chopra's daughter. While apologising to the couple in a social media post, she referred to Priyanka as 'the Chopra wife' and 'someone Chopra'.

When social media users criticized O'Donnell for referring to the Quantico actor as "Chopra wife," she posted a follow-up clip with the caption, "Priyanka is her name #sorry".

Now, Priyanka has reacted to the comedian's public apology videos by taking an indirect dig at her. Taking to Instagram, she strongly reacted and offered some advice on making a sincere apology correctly.Β
Without taking O’Donnell’s name, she wrote, "Hi everyone. Some thoughts. I have never taken myself so seriously to think everyone would know who I am, or my work for that matter. But if you wanted to make a public apology for a very awkward private encounter, I think probably best to take the time to google my name before doing it or even try to reach out directly".Β
PeeCee added, "We ALL deserve to be respected for our unique individuality and not be referred to as β€˜someone’ or β€˜wife’ especially in a sincere apology. If we can learn to respect our differences in an authentic way, the world we raise our children in. will be amazing. Also PS – As I’ve said before, not all Chopras are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith’s are related to the legendary Will Smith".
Take a look at her Insta story here:

Rohit Sharma started his run as the designated captainΒ in white-ball format with a winning spree at home against the West Indies.Β

Rohit, who returned to international cricket after recovering from a hamstring injury, led the Men in Blue to victory in the ODI and T20I series against the West Indies. India whitewashed the Windies in both formats, in a continuation of their dominance at home.Β
After the series win in both formats, Rohit was named as the all-format captainΒ by the chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma. Rohit's numbers as captain are great and that is why he was the automatic choice to take over the reins from Virat Kohli.Β

Impressed with Rohit's leadership skills, veteran India wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik lavished praise on the 34-year-old. Karthik said Rohit is a tactically sound captain and he enjoyed the way the team played under him in the recent series.Β

"What I enjoyed most was Rohit's captaincy. I thought he led the team beautifully. Tactically very, very sound, and I thoroughly enjoyed the way the team played in the last couple of series against West Indies," Karthik was quoted as saying by the ICC.Β

While it was indeed a splendid performance from the Men in Blue but we also have to consider the fact that the win came against an inexperienced West Indies side.Β
