    Cricket and Bollywood have been linked with each other in the past but ever since Allu Arjun's blockbuster Pushpa hit the cinemas, the craze of South cinema has taken over the cricketing world. Players in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League were seen using a famous gesture from Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa while celebrating a wicket. On Thursday, Ravindra Jadeja brought the Pushpa celebration to international cricket. 
    Jadeja, who was making his return after months, outfoxed Dinesh Chandimal during the first T20I between India and Sri Lanka in Lucknow on Thursday.

    Chandimal came down the track but Jadeja managed to beat him with turn and Ishan Kishan whipped the bails off in a flash to send back the Sri Lanka wicket-keeper. After picking up his first wicket since his return from an injury, Jadeja pulled off the famous gesture from Allu Arjun's blockbuster.

    Jadeja, even during his rehab, had recreated Allu Arjun's look from the movie that was approved by the South superstar himself. 
    Seeing Jadeja express his love for the Pushpa character, fans came in numbers to react to it on social media. Even Jadeja's Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise couldn't stop themselves from reacting to the celebration by the all-rounder and called him 'Ravindra Pushpa Raj'.

    Earlier in the match, Ishan Kishan stole the show with a blistering knock of 89 and contributions from Rohit Sharma (44) and Shreyas Iyer (57) helped India to post a humongous total of 199 for two in their allotted 20 overs.

    Venkatesh Iyer and Bhuvneshwar Kumar derailed Sri Lanka's chase as they picked up two wickets apiece as the visitors fell short by 62 runs.
    Apart from the one-sided win, Jadeja's unique celebration grabbed eyeballs. The all-rounder is known for his sword wielding gesture after reaching a milestone on the cricket field and he seems to have added another celebration in his repertoire and it looks like it is here to stay.

    With the kind of innings that Ishan Kishan played in the first T20I against the touring Sri Lankan side, his perception has taken an absolute U-turn in the eyes of the critics so much so that some of them have even started placing him ahead of the former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the shortest format of the game. 
    Kishan, who was bought by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs. 15.25 crore during the IPL 2022 mega auction, was absolutely brilliant as the opening batter for the Men in Blue. During his time in the middle, he shared 89 runs in just 56 deliveries. His century was missed out when he gave away a huge top-edge on a pull-short and was caught by Janith Liyanage at square leg.

    Nonetheless, Kishan’s work on the pitch was good enough to help skipper Rohit Sharma’s side make a hefty total of 199-runs which proved too much for the Lankan Lions to chase within 20 overs. Kishan was also awarded the ‘Player of the Match’ aware at the end of the evening for putting on a show with his blade. 
    It was later revealed to the cricketing community that the massive innings played by the 23-year old made him the owner of a new world record. His 89-run knock is now the highest individual score by any Indian wicketkeeper batter in the shortest format of the game that’s played at an international level.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rishabh Pant are the leading names on the list in terms of heritage and their impact on the squad. Even KL Rahul, who acted as the squad’s glovesman a couple of years ago when Pant had suffered a head concussion, is an excellent player of this format. 
    However, in terms of the number of haters each of these players have, Dhoni once again takes the top spot and it did not take his non-believers to simply start comparing his batting record with Kishan’s achievements from the first match against Sri Lanka.

    — Abhishek (@be_mewadi) February 24, 2022The narrative was that despite 98 international matches and batting in 85 of them, Dhoni’s highest score was just 56 runs, which was toppled by a huge margin by Kishan, who is just 8-matches old. 
    While there are loads of issues with such comparisons, the biggest problem here is that while Kishan is a top-order batter and Dhoni was often played the role of the finisher. The southpaw generally opens the Indian batting order and therefore has more balls and greater freedom to take his time and go for bigger shots. 

    Dhoni, on the other hand, never had the luxury of doing the same. His role was either to start swinging for the fences as he entered the ground to help his side chase down a total or to play a slow and sensible innings, act as the anchor that guides the innings in trouble and ensure to put enough runs on the board.
