    After Ranveer Singh-starrer 83, Rajkummar Rao & Bhumi Pednekar's Badhaai Do is going to be the first major film to be released in theatres. It is set to hit the silver screen on February 11, during Valentine's Day week. As the third wave of COVID-19 has slowed down resulting in the reopening of theatres, several other big films too are all set to release during festive weekends.
    From Akshay Kumar-starrer Bachchan Pandey to Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha, let's take a look at the list of much-hyped films that are booked to hit the theatres during festive weekends:

    Featuring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, and Jacqueline Fernandes in the lead roles, Bachchan Pandey is among the most-awaited movies of 2022. Last month, the makers had unveiled the film's new posters along with the new release date. Bachchan Pandey will be released in theatres on March 18, during the Holi weekend. An official remake of Jigarthanda, the 2014 Tamil film, Bachchan Pandey is helmed by Farhad Samji while Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it.

    KGF 2, a pan-India project starring Yash in the lead role, is slated to release on April 14, during the Baisakhi weekend. The film is expected to break several box office records as the buzz around it is huge. Directed by Prashanth Neel, KGF: Chapter 2 is the sequel to KGF: Chapter 1 which was released in 2018 and turned out to be a big hit. Also featuring Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, and Prakash Raj in important roles, the much-hyped movie will be released in Kannada with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

    Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha will be clashing with KGF 2 at the box office during the Baisakhi weekend. The official Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, the film is directed by Advait Chandan. It also marks the Bollywood debut of South star Naga Chaitanya. The movie is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Paramount Pictures.

    This year, on the occasion of Eid (April 29), Tiger Shroff's Heropanti 2 will be released in the theatres. A sequel to 2014 hit Heropanti which marked the Bollywood debuts of Tiger and Kriti Sanon, Heropanti 2 stars Tara Sutaria as the leading lady. Ahmed Khan has directed the film while Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it under his banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.

    A sequel to Mohit Suri's 2014 hit Ek Villain, Ek Villain Returns is all set to release during the Bakrid weekend, on July 8. While the first part starred Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh, the sequel features John Abraham, Disha Patani, Arjun Kapoor, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. Directed by Suri, the movie is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and T-Series.

    Post the release of Sukumar’s Pushpa: The Rise and its massive box office success, Allu Arjun has become the new pan-India star with several Hindi film celebs being in awe of him. 
    Recently, Alia Bhatt had expressed her desire to work with Allu Arjun saying her family is also a huge fan of the ‘Icon Star’ and they keep asking her when she is going to work with him. 
    Now, another top Hindi film star has been bowled over by Allu Arjun’s charisma and has fielded for him.

    In a recent interview, while promoting her latest release Gehraiyaan, Deepika Padukone was asked about a wish list of actors she’d like to work with. 

    She immediately named Allu Arjun and RRR star Jr NTR. In fact, she went on to say that she is obsessed with Jr NTR and praised his personality. 
    She told Bollywood Bubble, “I would love to work with, and I hope this doesn't create a riot or fight between whatever, but I would love to work with Jr NTR and Allu Arjun. I am obsessed with Jr NTR at this point, he has got an incredible personality. And Allu”.

    She was also asked about her wish list of filmmakers she’d like to collaborate with, Deepika named SS Rajamouli of Baahubali and RRR fame and Ayan Mukerji, with whom she worked last in the 2013 blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. 

    While Allu Arjun has already caught everyone’s attention in the Hindi belts with the massive success of Pushpa: The Rise, he will be looking to establish himself with Pushpa: The Rule, which is expected to release this year in December. 
    On the other hand, Jr NTR is all set to be officially introduced to the North Indian audiences with SS Rajamouli’s upcoming spectacle RRR. 
    Co-starring Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, RRR was supposed to release on January 7 but was postponed due to the rise in Omicron variant of coronavirus. The film will now release on March 25. 
    Meanwhile, Deepika was seen in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan. The film released on Amazon Prime Video to mixed response.

    Rishabh Pant was one of the outstanding players in India's 3-0 whitewash of the Windies, but he was also a joker who poked fun at his captain Rohit Sharma seconds before the last ODI began. While Rohit was in serious mode, the wicketkeeper-batsman took it upon himself to bring a smile to the Hitman's face by doing something amusing.
    While Rohit Sharma was concentrating on his preparation ahead of the final One-Day International, the middle-order batsman caught him off guard by raising his right leg and trying to kick him. It should be emphasised that the 24-year-old was also training at the time and decided to have some fun. Following that, the two were seen having a conversation, with the child attempting to remain cool and collected while Sharma gave a serious face.

In the second game, he was unexpectedly given the opportunity to open the Indian innings, and he scored 18 runs off 34 deliveries. However, he made up for it in the third game, scoring an important 54-ball 56 and sharing a 110-run fourth-wicket partnership with Shreyas Iyer when India was reduced to 42/3 in the tenth over. The pairing was instrumental in the hosts achieving a match-winning total.
    Returning to the game, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer's 80-run knock off 111 deliveries, together with key contributions from bowling all-rounders Shardul Thakur (38) and Washington Sundar (33) enabled India to record a tough total of 265 from their 50 overs.
    In response, India's bowlers worked in unison, and despite contributions from lower-order batsmen Odean Smith (36) and Alzarri Joseph (29), the visitors were bowled out for 169 in the 38th over, giving India a 96-run victory and a 3-0 ODI series victory. Rishabh Pant scored 85 runs in three games with the aid of a solitary half-century.
