    Alia BhattΒ is all geared up to set the screen on fire with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming masala entertainer Gangubai Kathiawadi.Β 
    Ahead of the release of the film, she sat for an exclusive chat with MensXP and discussed her character in the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s process and what was her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor’s reaction when he first saw portions of the film.Β

    While talking about the kind of treatment that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has given to the film, which is in the mass zone, we asked Alia if she was told in advance by the director about the zone he will be taking with this biopic.Β 

    She replied, β€œNo, and I didn’t ask either. I know whatever treatment he is going to give to the film will be amazing only. And also, he likes to discover his treatment. He doesn’t want to have a fixed way of doing anything. Which is why you can never speak about his process and possibly that is why he doesn’t like to give interviews because what will he say, you know. How will he say? Because he has a vision and he just arrives at it. So, there is no method. It’s not mechanical, it’s very emotional. He gets so involved in it.”

    She further added, β€œBut, he kept telling me before the shoot that I want weight in the character, power in the eyes. And initially, I would not understand what he meant by that. What does he mean by the eyes? He used to keep saying that the eyes are saying something but actually your words are saying something else and your hand is moving at another rhythm. And now, when people have seen the trailer, they talk about my eyes. Now, I am not telling that sir has given me this brief about the eyes. People are just coming to me and saying, β€˜Oh, your eyes.’ So, then I know, β€˜Okay, fine that was his vision’ which is coming across and I am just the tool to communicate that.” 

    When pointed out by us how Al Pacino in the β€˜70s and β€˜80s had similar traits in terms of the performances that he gave playing those iconic gangster roles be it Michael Corleone in The Godfather films or Tony Montana in Scarface.Β 
    Physically, Pacino wasn’t dominating or authoritative in personality but he used to more than makeup for it with his brilliant performances and with his aura.Β

    Reacting to the statement, Alia laughed and replied, β€œYou know it’s so strange. The first time Ranbir (Kapoor) saw something of Gangubai Kathiawadi and he said this is The Godfather. So, it’s so strange that you are saying this. And there is also this thing when we are talking in language, you know, we have posters and we are like, β€˜Okay, so we have a lying down poster, we have this poster and then there is The Godfather poster’. We have these words. We are using these words. But we are using this internally for fun. But, it really sounds quite funny when somebody else says that back. So, if you feel the same way then clearly what we are thinking is somehow getting communicated.” 

    Gangubai Kathiawadi also stars Vijay Raaz, Jim Sarbh and Ajay Devgn. The film is slated to release in theatres on February 25, 2022.

    When it comes to the Indian Premier League auctions, fans from all over the country watch early as Bollywood actor and co-owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta fearlessly bids on some of the most unusual players available on the auction list over and over again.
    It has become somewhat of a ritual watching Zinta get into a bidding war with various franchises of the league and unapologetically raising her placard without giving it a lot of thought. Under such circumstances, two things happen normally, either her Punjab Kings end up overbidding for an undeserving player, or the other side of the bidding war pays way more for an athlete than they should have.

    However, more often than not, it is the former that happens and the Punjab Kings are left with a bunch of misfit players with no team chemistry, a helpless captainΒ and undesirable performances in the regular seasonsΒ to come.

    Ahead of the 2022 Mega Auction, which is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on the 12th and 13th of February, the 47-year old has given an important update about her plans and the fans of the game have mixed reactions to it.
    She recently took to Twitter to inform her followers that she will not be flying to India this year and therefore will not be attending the 2022 Mega Auction event. According to her social media posts, Zinta says that she was unable to do so because she couldn’t leave her twin babies Jai and Gia alone in America.

    Ajinkya Rahane dropped a bombshellΒ on Thursday when he accused Ravi Shastri and Co of taking credit for the decisions he made during India's historic win over Australia Down Under.Β Β 
    Rahane, during an interview with sports journalist Boria Majumdar, had said that "I took the decisions on the field or in the dressing room but someone else took credit for it."Β 
    The storm that Rahane caused by taking a shot at the 'credit stealers' has not even settled yet and another comment from the same interview has created another stir on social media.Β Β 
    "I know what I've done there. I don't need to tell anyone. That's not my nature to go and take credit."

    "I was playing ODI cricket continuously for Team India and I was doing really well. Suddenly, I got dropped, I don't want to go into that, I don't want to go into my past but the reality is I was playing well in 2014, 15, 16, and 17. ODI and Test cricket both were going really well. After that I hardly got game time, there was a huge gap between Test matches," Rahane said.Β 
    "Sometimes, the reality is, when you play only one format and especially in the last 2-3 years where there is no Ranji cricket and no other domestic games, I think that needs to be taken into account because you can't score runs sitting at home,” he added.Β

    The Indian team is in the middle of an ODI series with the West Indies but the people are more interested in finding out every intricate detail about the team’s auction strategies. This is enough to tell us how excited fans are for this year’s auction.

    There is equal excitement for the proven world class talents as there is for the uncapped Indians, especially the teenageers who were crowned world champions recently.

    Given their heroics in the just-concluded Under-19 World CupΒ , teenage talents like Yash Dhull, Raj Bawa and Rajvardhan Hangargekar are expected to trigger a bidding warΒ at the auction.Β

    Thanks to this hype around their names, some of these players could even end up becoming crorepatis but not everyone is happy about it.

    Legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar feels that young uncapped players can get carried away after earning huge IPL contracts and that’s why the IPL authorities must consider putting a cap to their salary limit.

    The former India opener argued that junior and senior level cricket are a completely different ball game. The performances at the Under19 level can’t guarantee a player success at the international level or even at the IPL, for that matter.

    β€œThe mega auction will happen over the weekend and some of our Under-19 boys could become crorepatis in a few blinks of the eye,” Gavaskra wrote in his column for Mid-day.Β

    β€œDoing well at the under-19 level doesn’t guarantee success at the IPL or even international level as has been seen over the years. The difference in standards is huge,” he added.Β 

    To ensure that the young players don’t lose their focus, the β€˜Little Master’ suggested a rather radical change in the IPL auction rule. He urged the BCCI to impose a limit of Rs 1 crore for the uncapped Indian players just to make sure they keep their feets on the ground.

    β€œFar too many get carried away and lose focus and are out of the game or seek the mirage of greener-looking pastures. The fair thing would be to put a limit of say Rs 1 crore for uncapped players so that they know that to go further and earn more they have a lot of hard work ahead,” wrote Gavaskar.

    β€œEasy money has spoilt many a promising talent and that’s something the administrators can prevent by ensuring that an uncapped player remains eager to keep performing year after year and not fall by the wayside as so many have done in the past,” he explained.

    Over the years, we have seen many uncapped players like T Natarajan, Varun Chakravarthy, Krishnappa Gowtham fetching a crazy amount of money at the auction and then using the IPL as a pathway to enter the national team.Β 
    While Gavaskar’s concern is genuine, the problem is that by capping the Indian players’ salary they will be differentiating between them and the overseas players, which can spark a huge debate.

    Let’s just assume for one second that the BCCI imposes a salary cap. Doing so might solve one problem but could lead to many complications.

    For example, what happens when two or more teams bid Rs 1 crore for an uncapped player and don’t want to back off? Who will decide which team gets the player and on what basis? Even if they decide, won’t other teams feel hard done by?Β

    Jurassic World Dominion just released its first official trailer online and it looks spectacular from start to finish.

    The movie, which will release in theatres on June 10 this year, is the third instalment in Chris Pratt's Jurassic World series and is the sixth film in the overall Jurassic Park franchise.

    Universal Pictures dropped the trailer much to the surprise of the fans, and if you've been a Jurassic Park fan from ages ago, the movie has nostalgia written all over it.


    Here are five things we noticed about the trailer:

    1. It's Dinosaurs vs Humans Β© Universal Pictures
    In the last film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, dinosaurs, who had been genetically engineered, were set free from captivity and shipped all around the world.

    The trailer of Jurassic Park Dominion reveals the consequences of those actions as the dinosaurs now walk alongside humans across all countries, with the delicate balance of Human life and dinosaur life almost on the verge of collapse.
    As the trailer's narration suggests, human life could actually be on the brink of extinction if something is not done to restore the balance.
    2. Original Jurassic Park Trio Are Back Β© Universal Pictures
    The Steven Spielberg Jurassic Park film of 1993 was the first film that brought dinosaurs to life for the first time, and it sure was quite a cinematic spectacle.

    Well, it's been almost 30 years since but looks like we will be seeing some old familiar faces after all.
    That's right! Jurassic Park Dominion trailer let us live our childhoods once again with the original trio Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum returning for the film alongside Pratt's character Owen Grady, who has been at the helm of the Jurassic World series since 2015.
    The trailer rightfully brings a lot of good memories with the scene between Alan Grant (Neil) and Ellie Sattler (Dern) scoring very high points on nostalgia.

    The bigger the movie, the bigger the dinosaurs!

    Funny when we thought the T-Rex was the biggest apex predator when we saw the first Jurassic Park film. Well, there are clearly bigger ones out there with this movie set to have another really, really big one.
    In the trailer, Goldblum's character of Ian Malcolm rightfully says, 'Bigger. Why do they always have to go bigger?'
    4. Crazy Action Sequences Β© Universal Pictures
    While the trailer does reveal parts of the plot for the film, one thing that it promises to guarantee is crazy action sequences.

    Like in the first film, Pratt's character can once again be seen getting on his bike to run away from some dinosaurs.
    However, this time around it looks to be in the middle of a city on roads, with super-fast dinos sprinting behind him to finish his chapter.
    The trailer for the film has all the little details that may hint at a promising film in the theatres, and we sure can't wait for it.

    Mohammed ShamiΒ is one of the most loved members of the Indian cricket team and one of his greatest qualities as a person is his ability to remain the true version of himself regardless of whoever he is talking about.
    So when he was asked about his comments on how good or bad has Rohit Sharma been ever since he was picked as Virat Kohli’s replacement as the next white-ball captain, the pacer did not try anything fancy and made sure that he wasn’t buttering up the newly appointed skipper in any shape or form.

    Shami made it clear that he had absolutely no opinion about Sharma’s captaincy simply because he has never played under his leadership. However, he did acknowledge the Hitman’s success as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians over the years having won five Indian Premier League titles.
    He further spoke about how he appreciated the captaincy of Virat Kohli talking about the kind of support he showed during his tenure. According to Shami, Kohli used to be the bowlers’ captain who used to actively participate in the decision-making process and liked to get involved with problem-solving both on and off the field.

    The pacer added that while people become the greatest of supporters when the team is winning, for a captain it was extremely important to be by his bowlers’ side when they seem to struggle with their form and Kohli was always there for them.

    Former India skipper and opener Virender Sehwag has advised white-ball vice-captain KL Rahul to improve his running between the wickets following him getting run-out during the second ODI match of the India-West Indies seriesΒ at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday.
    KL Rahul had a great chance to put up a huge score against the West Indies, according to Sehwag, before being dismissed in the second ODI on Wednesday due to a mix-up with Suryakumar Yadav. Rahul batted at no.4 after missing the first one-day international due to his sister's wedding, and combined 91 runs alongside Suryakumar to stop the wickets from falling and consolidate the Indian innings.

    He hit four fours and two sixes in his 49-ball innings. However, a costly mix-up resulted in Rahul's run-out, ending their fourth-wicket stand, and Sehwag believes the Karnataka batsman has to improve his running.
    Sehwag further rubbed salt on Rahul’s wounds by suggesting that he should not repeat the mistakes that he made for the past four years while he was playing (and eventually went on to captain) for the Kings XI PunjabΒ (now Punjab Kings) in the Indian Premier League.

    During his tenure as an Indian cricketer, Sehwag did make a name for himself as a cheeky runner who was always looking to sneak in singles between deliveries and make things frustrating for the bowling side.
    However, he wasn’t very disciplined with running between the wickets himself and would often get out while failing to make up his mind about crossing the pitch or not. One of the most bizarre ways in which Sehwag got runout was during a 2007 ODI between India and Sri Lanka.

    After sending the ball towards the third man, Viru walked towards the non-striker’s end while shadow-batting and trying to perfect the shot that he had just played. With somehow still falling short of making it beyond the crease, Sehwag was stunned when Kumar Sangakara made the most of this opportunity and made a direct hit with the stumps to dismiss Sehwag, who wasn’t paying attention to detail.
    It is hilarious that Sehwag has forgotten his own limitations about the very flaw that he has been exploring in KL Rahul and brought out his time with Punjab Kings as a way to add credibility to his claim, even when Rahul is exponentially fitter and active between the wickets that he ever was.

    Although he didn’t take any names, many believe that his comments were aimed at former head coach Ravi Shastri and the rest of the staff members.

    In Virat Kohli’s absence, Rahane played a massive role in the remarkable turnaroundΒ of the team’s fortunes, especially after the humiliating loss in Adelaide where they were knocked over for 36 runs – their lowest total in the history of Test cricket.

    Apart from dropping a bombshell, Rahane also spoke highly of India’s current white-ball skipper Rohit Sharma in the same interview. He acknowledged how big of a support the opener was in that series.

    The fans took to the micro-blogging site in large numbers and slammed Rahane for running a β€œclear agenda” against the Delhi-born cricketer. They argued that he never said a single word when he was the leader of the squad but as soon as he stepped he decided to go public with his rant.
