    I love Bollywood movies, but one thing that I love more than the movie itself is Bollywood’s audacity. And by that, I mean the audacity to make a β€˜horror’ film without an ounce of horror in it.Β 
    We’re talking about the 2002 release Raaz that marked itself as one of the most poorly-made horror films in Bollywood and was ironically the β€˜secret’ to why Bipasha Basu would be typecast into doing roles just like this.

    The movie starts with a group of friends playing spin the bottle in the middle of a jungle for some messed up reason. As the bottle lands on a girl named Nisha, she outright refuses to kiss the person in front of her, and in her defence, we don’t blame her.Β 

    Of course, the β€˜no’ doesn’t deter the guy’s spirits who then runs after her to claim the kiss.Β

    As the two run off into the middle of a jungle at night, because what is more romantic than playing hide and seek in a deserted forest and inviting trouble, Nisha starts experiencing something otherworldly.Β 

    Somehow, she gets possessed, attacks the guy, and is rushed to the hospital. There, just before dying, her voice and her face completely change, scaring the shit out of the doctors who then call a professor to take a look at the psycho (and now dead) patient.

    Professor Agni Swaroop (Ashutosh Rana), declares her to have been possessed by an evil spirit, who is out for revenge.Β

    Cut to the life of Sanjana Dhanraj (Bipasha Basu) and Aditya Dhanraj (Dino Morea) where in the first itself Aditya depicts himself as a self-absorbed prick who is busy ignoring his wife at a party. Sanjana, on the other hand, downs a drink in anger and leaves the party in frustration. On her way back, she meets with an accident after she hears a scary voice in her head.Β

    In the hospital, Sanjana asks her good-for-nothing husband for a divorce but he, like any other toxic guy in denial, suggests going to Ooty for a vacation instead to work on their marriage. Sanjana, who at this point just wants him to shut up, says yes.

    In Ooty, while they are trying to reconcile, Sanjana starts experiencing weird things. Hearing voices of a woman shouting in the forest, poorly directed supernatural elements here and there that are anything but scary. Aditya, on the other hand, is busy gaslighting her into believing that it’s the sleeping pills that are making her paranoid.

    Not convinced, Sanjana tries to further poke her nose where it doesn’t belong because simply this much jump-scare is not doing it for her.Β 

    While probing around the house, Sanjana reaches her previous caretaker’s house, Robert, who had vanished one fine day after he also started hearing the kind of voices Sanjana does. Safe to say, she shits her pants and decides it’s time to involve others.

    Her friend Priya takes her to Professor Swaroop who agrees to visit Sanjana’s house. Sensing an evil spirit in their midst, the professor further scares the shit out of Sanjana who frantically disrupts Aditya’s meeting to tell him about what happened.Β

    An annoyed and embarrassed Aditya shuns away from the beliefs of the Professor and decides it’s best to go back to Mumbai. Due to a landslide they can't, which is when Aditya decides to go alone and come back to collect Sanjana later.

    This gives Sanjana enough alone time to summon spirits and almost get everyone killed, because what else is a jilted wife to do in a holiday home, right?

    Going to the same spot where Nisha (the adult playing hide n seek) was attacked, she finds a revolver. It turns out the revolver belonged to a colonel who had a daughter, Malini, in the mental asylum. His daughter who had run away several other times, presumably took the revolver with her on the day she vanished and never came back.

    Using this information to derive nothing sensible, Sanjana decides to talk to the spirit.Β

    As she summons the spirit, she learns, and in the most pathetic, unexpected and spookiest way, that her dick of a husband was having an affair.Β

    Upon a nasty confrontation, Aditya admits to the affair and tries to save face by saying how he never planned on leaving Sanjana, despite being asked to do so by Malini. Such love, much wow.

    Malini, who had crossed over to the edge after being rejected (because in this society saying no is simply unacceptable) shoots herself to frame Aditya. Clearly, she hadn’t thought it through because very conveniently, Aditya and the caretaker - Robert bury her body in the forest and put this whole thing behind them.

    Except, Malini comes back, this time as a manipulative spirit whose plan is to kill Aditya and die happily ever after. Sanjana, Priya and Dr Swaroop decide to go after Aditya to help him, however, Malini’s spirit takes the form of Sanjana and fools Aditya into coming with her.

    The spirit makes them fall into an accident and Aditya is hospitalized. Dr Swaroop tells Sanjana that the only way to stop her is by burning Malini’s body that has been buried in the forest, and so once again, they go into the nest of evil.

    As the three struggle to find the body, the spirit is attacking them left right and centre and eventually kills Dr Swaroop to take his form and attacks Sanjana and Priya.Β

    As they are fighting for their life, pretty poorly I must say, Sanjana finds Robert's body casually hanging from a tree and somehow, with no tact and pure luck, pours kerosene over Malini’s dead body and burns her.

    All this to save a lying, cheating prick in the hospital, to whom Sanjana happily goes back to after having just been involved in something so paranormal.Β

    Remember Amrita Rao? Yes! The stunning Bollywood actress rose to fame with her debut opposite Shahid Kapoor in 2003's Ishq Vishk.
    Back in the day, Amrita was among the most sought-after actors in the industry, having been a part of popular films like Shah Rukh Khan's Main Hoon Na, Vivah, Masti, and others.

    Not many know, but Amrita thought the same as well, with her dream being the idea of starring in a big banner film of Yash Raj Films.

    Yes! That's right! Amrita wanted to really work in a good YRF film and had been waiting for an opportunity.
    She, along with her husband RJ Anmol, actually recalled an incident where she was really upset about not getting a role in a YRF movie yet.
    While speaking on a YouTube show called Couple Of Things, the actress revealed that she almost broke into tears after watching Shraddha Kapoor's Luv Ka The EndΒ back in 2011.
    β€œMujhe yeh lag raha tha ki aisi clean family film with Yash Raj mujhe kyun nahi mil rahi yaar (I wondered why wasn’t I offered such a clean family film with Yash Raj Films)? I deserve it,” Amrita said.

    However, sometime months later, miracle struck, and she actually got a message from Yash Raj Films’ chairman and managing director Aditya Chopra, who asked her to come to the office for a meeting where he made an offer for her to be an β€˜in-house Yash Raj heroine’.

    According to Amrita, Aditya told her that she is the β€˜Vivah heroine’ and has the β€˜Rajshri image’, with his films not just for family audiences.

    He then asked her if she had any reservations about kissing scenes in filmsΒ or if she was β€˜open to trying different things’.
    Aditya even told her that there was no β€˜formality’ and if she was not comfortable, all she needed to do was text him β€˜no’ and he would understand her answer.Β 
    As it happened, Amrita, later on, said no to Aditya explaining how she was in a β€˜soulful relationship’ and β€˜would not be able to do justice to' the offer.Β 
    Aditya stayed true to his word in understanding the decision and said that he hoped he could come back with an offer that she would be comfortable with in the future.Β 
    According to reports, Amrita had been offered YRF films like Neal β€˜n’ Nikki and Bachna Ae Haseeno earlier, however, she had said no to them because of the same reason of not wanting to do bold scenes.

    Back in the β€˜90s, Mukesh Khanna created and starred in and as one of India’s first superheroes Shaktimaan in the popular TV series of the same name.Β 
    The show became an instant success among the nationwide audience, especially kids and soon, attained a cult status and following.Β 
    Over the years, there have been several rumours around Shaktimaan making a comeback but nothing materialised further.Β

    Now, at a time when American superheroes have taken over the world thanks to the box office juggernaut that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, India only had a few successful superheroes in Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish, the recent Tovino Thomas’ Minnal Murali and even Shah Rukh Khan’s G.One in Ra.One, up to an extent.Β Β 

    The other such attempts by Indian cinema to make a successful superhero film failed, be it A Flying Jatt or Drona, among others.Β 
    Now, the baap of all superheroes in India is finally making a comeback on the big screen.Β 
    Sony Pictures has announced a big screen return of the iconic Shaktimaan with a 59-second teaser. They have announced that trilogy in collaboration with Mukesh Khanna’s production house Bheeshm International.Β 
    However, unlike the TV series, the face of Shaktimaan will be different this time around. Mukesh Khanna who is 63 will be taking a back seat and the character will be portrayed by a major superstar.Β 
    Also, the TV series was directed by Dinker Jani but for the big screen trilogy, makers have decided to get on board a top filmmaker.Β

    Sharing the exciting news, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, β€œBIG ANNOUNCEMENT: SONY PICTURES TO BRING THE ICONIC 'SHAKTIMAAN' TO THE BIG SCREEN... This time, #Shaktimaan will be made for *cinemas*. Will be a trilogy. One of #India’s major superstars will enact the title role. A top name will direct.”

    Allu Arjun’s fame post Pushpa is unmatched and it's like a newfound world of fan base for the stylish star that has opened its hearts and doors for him. This pan-Indian film that has sailed through the Rs 300 crore marks effortlessly is proof that the Indian audience is open to consuming good content and the perceptions around only Bollywood leading the pack are farce now.


    The movie starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles follows the story of Pushpa Raj, a man engulfed in the turmoil of his own life, deciding to change his fortune by becoming the reigning king of sandalwood smuggling.
    Allu Arjun was not only appreciated for his stellar acting but the actor is known to always go beyond his call of duty for his work and hence the whole look of his character, from one shoulder being raised throughout the movie, to the rustic aesthetic look of Pushpa Raj, he nailed it like a natural. The makers shared a video which shows how his look was styled and how he sat in front of the mirror, getting layers of make up done before slipping into his character.

    The reactions to this video are exactly like you’d expect them to be. People are in awe of Allu’s dedication and his team’s hard work.

    He was supposed to be the rising star, the next big thing, β€œpotentially” the next Shah Rukh Khan until he called that fateful press conference that changed the course of his career forever.Β 
    The controversial press conference that Vivek called in 2003 was against Salman Khan as he accused him of calling 41 times abusing and threatening to kill because of his closeness with Aishwarya Rai.Β

    That soured Vivek’s relationship with Salman Khan forever. So much so, that even after Vivek publicly apologised to Bhai during a dance performance, he didn’t budge.Β 

    However, the equation between them was not always bad. In fact, mere months before the press conference, Vivek had expressed his admiration for Salman Khan in an interview.Β 
    Post the release of his film Road, Vivek did an interview with RediffΒ where he talked about stardom.Β 
    When asked if it’s true that he wants to star in a biopic made on Shah Rukh Khan, Vivek stated, β€œI am fascinated by Shah Rukh Khan. He is brilliant. Every time I meet him, I tease him, 'Hello God, how are you?' Gauri (Shah Rukh's wife) keeps saying 'Stop calling him that. He is just Shah Rukh.' Here's a guy who comes from nowhere, has no connections to cinema and has no way to make it in.     On Wednesday, Indian cricket's superstar and former captain Virat Kohli too could not stop himself from doing a move that looked similar to Allu Arjun's famous walk that he did in the movie.Β 
    The walk with a tilted shoulder that went viral across the globe is a hit among fans and even cricketers are trying their hands to recreate the move.Β 
    During the second ODI between India and the West Indies, the match was in a tense situation when Odean Smith tried to take on Washington Sundar to ease the nerves. However, all the West Indies batter could manage was to hit the ball in the air and Kohli, stationed at deep square-leg, got under it and took a sublime catch.Β

    Kohli did not have the best of times with the bat as he could only manage to score 18 runs after facing 30 deliveries before being dismissed by Smith.
