    Former Indian cricketer and the recently retired off-spinner Harbhajan Singh called out a journalist for talking about an unnamed ‘BCCI official’ becoming a part of the selection committee meetings and Indian cricket fans sided with the former athlete on this one.
    When it comes to the game of international cricket, the Board of Control for Cricket in India or the BCCI are considered to be the most talked-about organisations in the world. They are often surrounded by all kinds of narratives and some of these storylines even make them feel like an evil mastermind brand that plots against individual players and takes out a personal vendetta against those who stand up to their injustice.

    Obviously, ‘most’ of these stories turn out to be nothing more than fake reports and it takes one press conference or one official statement from the Indian cricket board to dismiss such allegations and move about doing their jobs.
    However, recently a journalist reported on Twitter that one of the BCCI officials continued to get himself involved with the selection committee meetings even though he knew that it was not the right thing to do and that he should have stayed away from the process.
    For quite some time, a BCCI official kept inviting himself to selection committee meetings even when he knew he should have stayed away.

    Captain and coach were helpless. Couldn't do anything. He had no business being there.

    The journalist goes on to say that the presence of the BCCI official in those meetings neutralised the authority of the captain and the head coach of the Indian cricket team, rendering them “helpless” during the team-selection proceedings.
    As this tweet went viral with Indian cricket fans from all over the country responding to it with mixed emotions, Harbhajan Singh also ended up commenting on the post, asking the journalist to be more direct and give out the name of the ‘BCCI Official’ and also asking him how did he get to know about this juicy piece of inside information.

    The journalist responded to Bhajji’s comments, asking the former cricketer to get in touch with some of his buddies from inside the BCCI, namely Virat Kohli, Ravi Shastri - the former Indian head coach, and the various selectors who were supposed to be in these meetings.

    Indian cricket would be in far better place if these Qs were asked more regularly.

    The much awaited trailer for Badhaai Do is finally out and as expected, it is garnering praise on social media. If the OG Badhaai Ho was any indication, this one should also deal with a so-called 'uncomfortable topic' with the same maturity and tenderness, with impressive humour levels. Take a look at the trailer if you haven't already.

    While we are always happy to see Rajkummar Rao on screen thanks to his inimitable screen persona, this time, it was more exciting for everyone because of his never before seen, super muscular avatar. Rajkummar went through a 'crazy muscle transformation', and plays a cop in the movie. His entry scene showcases his ripped physique that he is unabashedly admiring in the mirror - he even goes ahead and ends up kissing his own bicep.

    And why won't he? When you have biceps like that, they deserve some love. However, not everyone has them but everyone wants them. It's honestly not very difficult to build defined and kissable biceps like that, except most people end up committing some stupid mistakes in the gym that don't let them build the same.

    Keeping that in mind, here are 4 mistakes to avoid in the gym to build defined, kissable biceps like Rajkummar Rao in Badhaai Do, in 6-8 weeks.
    1. Avoid weights you can't handle

    This is the ultimate gain killer, but gym bros often swear by it. How often have you seen someone load up a barbell with heavy weights, only to use their whole body with a jerk to lift the weight instead of actually focusing on the bicep - which is the whole point of the exercise? Momentum will target every other part like your back and your shoulder, instead of actually focusing on your bicep. Read point number 1 and decrease the weight to do a proper rep!

You can also use the pull up bar to your advantage by incorporating different kinds of chin ups and hanging drills.

    Yes, we're noting down bicep training mistakes, but this one belongs here. The human arm musculature is formed of 30% bicep muscles, and 70% tricep muscles. No matter how hard you train your biceps, avoiding your triceps will cost you size and fullness, apart from muscular imbalance. Focus on triceps more than your biceps in fact, and you'll be amazed to see your biceps are looking much bigger and more defined because of the muscular symmetry you'll achieve out of it.

    The thing about being a woman in a society that has systematically tried to break you and keep you down is that sometimes, it also gives rise to women who are not just willing to take the cause further and fight for it, but sadly, those who will take its advantage and play the 'victim card' to get their way. 
    As is what happened on the show Shark Tank India, where panellist Ashneer Grover - Co-founder of BharatPe, was accused of not investing in a contestant’s business all because she was a woman. Falsely, of course.


    In a video that has gone viral on Twitter, the contestant is shown being given feedback by Shark Ashneer Grover on why he wouldn’t invest in her business. 
    He starts by saying, “Mereko nahi lagta ki iss product ki koi market abhi aapne capture ki hai. (I don’t think you’ve captured a market for this product, yet.)”
    He goes on to say, “Simple rule of marketing, you can’t feed humans on the same brand you’re using to feed an animal. I think there is no scale in it and it seems more like a hobby business to me.”

    And that is where he is cut off by the female contestant who says, “Are you saying that because I am a woman?” And she doesn't just stop there. Interjecting the shark, she goes on to say, “When women start a business, it’s not a hobby” and while I (as a woman, myself) agree with that, what I don’t agree with is her context to establish that.
    You see, anyone who has seen the show would know that Ashneer Grover is not the one to mince his words when he gives feedback on pitches. And he was clearly doing just that, giving out a rational reason as to why he thought there was no scope for the business, without placing gender as a construct. 
    Waiting for the day when women can take criticism well and compete basis their skills and know the real concept of equity/ equality and stop playing the women card and prove their worth with the value addition they bring.

    An opinion that was also shared by other sharks who quickly came to Ashneer’s defence and called her out for taking the conversation out of context.
    While it is encouraged to call out sexism, the show Shark Tank India is known to be gender-neutral, in fact, it’s a show that is purely entrepreneurial. And to drag ‘feminism’ into the mix simply because one can is not appreciated. And coming from a woman herself, need not be supported, either. 
    Not to forget, it takes away from the entire feminist movement that has tried to endorse equality, not force women agenda on top.

    After reading all these bizarre comments that came under his Instagram post, he decided to take the picture down from his Instagram account but the damage was done. 

    In one of her earlier interviews with the Humans of Bombay, Patralekhaa revealed how she first perceived Raj when she first saw him in Love *** Aur Dhokha (LSD). She said, "I thought that the weird guy he played in the film was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, 'I'm going to marry her'. It was so ironic." What started out as a misconception for Patralekhaa turned out to be the most beautiful reality for her.

    Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya are continuously making headlines ever since they announced their separation in October last year which came as a shock to their fans. The duo got married in 2012 and parted ways after four years of being together. While the estranged couple has now moved on, several reports suggested that Naga Chaitanya's father and veteran South actor Nagarjuna Akkineni opened up about their separation in a recent interview.
    Taking to social media, the veteran superstar has slammed the false reports which are being circulated on social media and electronic media. In a tweet, he has revealed that the quote is false. He wrote, "The news in social media and electronic media quoting my statement about Samantha & Nagachaitanya is completely false and absolute nonsense! I request media friends to please refrain from posting rumours as news. #GiveNewsNotRumours".

    Earlier several reports had suggested that Nagarjuna had stated that Samantha was the one who wanted divorce from his son Naga Chaitanya.
    An IndiaGlitz report quoted Nagarjuna, "Naga Chaitanya accepted her decision but he was much worried about me, what I would think and what would happen to family's reputation".
    The report further added, "Naga Chaitanya consoled me very much as he thought I will be worried. They both have been together for 4 years in the marriage life but no problem like this came between them. Both were so close and I don't know how it came down to this decision. They even celebrated 2021's New Year together, it seems that the problems have arisen after that".
    Earlier this month, Naga Chaitanya had talked about his split with Samantha during the promotions of Bangarraju. Calling divorce the 'best decision', the Love Story actor shared that they both are happy now. Talking about the rough phase after separation, Samantha had earlier revealed that she thought she was weak and would "crumble and die".
    Recently, Samantha deleted the divorce statement from her social media account which stirred patch-up rumours. Seems like, she deleted the post just like that as The Family Man 2 actress is yet to react to the speculations.

    Filmmaker Suneel Darshan, who has helmed films like Jaanwar (1999), Ek Rishtaa (2001) and Talaash: The Hunt Begins (2003) starring Akshay Kumar, has filed an FIR against YouTube, Google and its CEO Sundar Pichai. 
    The reason for filing an FIR against the tech giant is copyright infringement. 
    He has alleged that his 2017 film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha starring his son Shiv Darshan is illegally streaming on YouTube and has garnered millions of views.

    Darshan has also stated that he hasn’t yet sold the rights of his film to any streaming platform and had written to Google multiple times to take down the movie besides reporting it on the platform but there hasn’t been any response from them. 

    Talking to ETimes about the FIR, Suneel stated, “My movie, which I have not uploaded anywhere and not sold to anyone in the world, was found on YouTube with millions of views. I kept requesting them (Google) to withdraw and I was just left running from pillar to post. I got so frustrated; left with no choice I had to go to the court. And fortunately, the court gave an order in my favour and instructed the police to file an FIR. There are over a billion infringements and I have a record of each of them. It's about these people who claim that they follow the law and now they have no systems in place. Those monetising my videos are benefitting. I don't want to challenge technology, but the misuse of technology.”

    He further added that he is ready for a settlement as well, “I'm only fighting for my rights. How can someone use my content, exclusively copyrighted to me, not sold to anyone, not shared with anyone, on the platform? And then they have their own reasons, and they don't even remove it. I have lost the film's entire value and they have done it before also, that's a different case.” 

    Suneel Darshan’s Advocate Aditya Chitale told the website, “By their action of uploading the audio-visuals and the audio of his film Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha, YouTube and its officials have not only considerably eroded the marketability and the value of the intellectual property rights of the audio-visuals and audio of the film, but YouTube has also unjustly enriched itself by earning huge revenue through advertisements and other sources through the exhibition of the content. Mr Darshan had complained to YouTube/Google and its officials several times, but they ignored his complaints and continued to earn huge revenue for themselves at Mr Darshan's cost by illegally exploiting his intellectual property rights.”

    Sundar Pichai was recently announced to be one of the recipients of Padma Bhushan honour by the government of India. 

    When asked by BollywoodLife if he is ready for social media trolling who may accuse him of doing all this just for publicity, Darshan replied, “I am not trying to gain publicity at all. I am only trying to put facts on record. I don’t intend anything more than that. As a filmmaker and a copyright owner, I have certain rights and when you mercilessly infringe them, then what should I do? I am a helpless person. As a filmmaker, you invest in a movie and especially a guy like me, I don’t come from Bollywood. I am from the Indian film industry. I don’t make movies that are sponsored by corporates. So, for me the whole game is very different; it’s about my livelihood and survival. It has been a huge financial impact on my career and that is the reason I had to approach the legal body.”

    It is natural for any team to heavily depend on their captain. However, this dependence on the skipper gets even heavier when the team is brand new. Such a situation demands that the squad is led by a charismatic player who carries few amazing results under his belt. A captain with such high leadership credentials surely helps a new team start its campaign at a psychological high and ensure competitive performance and fight by their side.
    The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has two new franchises joining its folds. With the IPL 2022 Mega Auction around the corner, Lucknow and Ahmedabad are undergoing the initial phase of team building. As the first and very critical step, the teams have appointed their captains. Lucknow has handed over the reins to India opener and national vice-captain KL Rahul whereas Ahmedabad will be led by one of the most formidable allrounders Hardik Pandya.

    Both the captains have been selected. But, one must ask both the new team managements about the criteria on which they selected their captains. There is not an iota of doubt on the world-class talent and the individual performances of both these players.  
    Any team anywhere in the world would treasure them as prized possessions and will be willing to pay any price to keep them. Both Rahul and Pandya deserve that love, respect and honour as extraordinary players. 
    However, when it comes to the biggest T20 league in the world, history suggests that even the most successful of players have had a tough time leading a newly built squad. 

    For instance, even the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni failed to bring his expertise to fruition to the Pune Supergiants, the club he led for a season in 2016 before being dismissed abruptly by Steve Smith the following year. 
    Suresh Raina, who was named captain of the other stop-gap squad Gujarat Lions, was also unable to recapture the magic of his Chennai days, and it was clear that both the 'Thala' (MSD) and his deputy in-command were keen to return to the Yellow army in 2018. 
    In the case of Rahul and Pandya, a look at their performances doesn’t offer the confidence that is required by a new team to look up to them as captains. 
    Rahul led the Indian national team in one Test and three ODIs in the recently concluded tour of South Africa. India lost all 4 of them. Rahul could not impress anyone with his captaincy skills. He clearly lacked on-field management. His body language showed visible signs of confusion and unclear decision-making abilities. Even in the last season of IPL Rahul led KXI Punjab in 25 matches. Punjab lost 14 and won 11 matches and was finally out of the league without registering any dent. 
    On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has never ever captained any team at such high-level competition and now has been given the responsibility to lead an important team like Ahmedabad. To add to that, the rumours about his troubling back issues have not left his side ever since the flop show during the T20 World Cup, also hasn’t earned him any brownie points.  
    This leads everyone to wonder if both the new franchisees are deliberately taking huge risks in their debut season by offering captaincy to Rahul and Pandya or it's just an unprofessional decision of both the team management. Only time will tell.

    Virat Kohli's surprise decision to resign as India's Test captain following a 1-2 red-ball series loss to South Africa stunned fans and analysts alike. Several former cricketers backed Kohli's decision, while others thought he could have stayed in the post for longer. 
    Former head coach Ravi Shastri expressed his support for Kohli, saying that it is his "choice". The former Indian head coach further added in Kohli’s defense that there were loads of ace cricketers who gave up the captaincy in the past.

    In a conversation with the Press Trust of India (PTI), Shastri said that everyone who follows cricket or is an expert of the game must respect Kohli’s decision to rid himself of the responsibilities that came along with the title of being the red-ball captain of the national squad. 
    He reinforced the former skipper’s sentiments that one of the major reasons behind such a massive step was for the 34-year-old to focus on becoming a better version of himself as a batter.

    Shastri, whose tenure as the head coach of the Men in Blue came to an end following India’s early ouster from the T20 World Cup 2021, kept himself far away from talking about Kohli’s body language ever since he handed over the captaincy back to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). He also said that he did not follow India’s tour of South Africa very closely but had faith in the fact that not a lot will change within Kohli as a player.

    Kohli has also been chastised for failing to win an ICC title as captain. Shastri noted that many major players had failed to win a World Championship in the past including the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, the current head coach Rahul Dravid and the former head coach Anil Kumble.

    After the T20 World Cup, Kohli stood down as India's T20I captain and was quickly replaced as ODI captain. In December of last year, the BCCI named Rohit Sharma as India's full-time white-ball captain. 
    Chances are that after Kohli gave up his Test captaincy, Sharma will be next in line to take over the leadership in the longest format of the game as well and put an end to the whole split captaincy debate within the Indian locker room once again.

    Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the biggest names in Indian cricket at the moment. They both have different personalities but they have come together to take Indian cricket forward. 
    Now if there is one person who has seen both these players evolve and dominate world cricket from close quarters – it’s Ravi Shastri, who was part of the Indian dressing room for nearly seven years – first as the team director and then as the head coach.

    Hence, there is no better person than him who can explain how Kohli and Rohit made a mark for themselves in international cricket despite being so different from each other.

    Shastri recently sat down with former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar and explained how exactly both these stalwarts of Indian cricket differ from each other. He even compared their on-field behaviour that has brought them so much success.
    The former India all-rounder said that the Delhi-born cricketer carries so much energy within himself that he is “like a beast on the field”.

    Shastri agreed that Kohi likes to be in the face of the opposition all the time which many critics don’t agree with but fans and experts should understand that’s how he is.

    It’s a part of his personality and we can’t do anything about it. It’s his way of motivating himself and bringing out the best in him.

    “Virat is like a beast on the field. He is a terrier. Once he enters the ground, he wants to compete and is not worried about anybody. He is in-your-face and passionate. Off the field, he is totally opposite,” Shastri said on Akhtar’s YouTube channel. 
    “Absolutely calm, chilled… there is no issue about him. He is 33. He has been contributing as a captain. The challenge comes when you are not captain after a span of time. Then to still have the energy to play as a player, get runs and help India win. If he does that, he would have completed a full circle."

    Talking about India’s current white-ball captain, the 59-year-old former cricketer said that, unlike Kohli, Rohit is “laid back” but that’s the method which has brought him immense success over the years. 

    When someone calls you laidback, it’s generally considered to be a negative thing but Shastri’s intention was not to pull down India’s new white-ball captain and show him in a bad light.

    Sometimes, we need to understand the context in which things were said and the same holds true in this case as well. Shastri’s choice of words might offend some ‘Hitman’ fans but if they try and understand his intentions, they would realise what he said was actually a good thing.

    We call someone laidback because we think he is lazy and not very active but Shastri didn’t mean it like that. All he was trying to say was that Rohit has so much time on the ball, more than any other other player, that it makes him look lazy while he is playing a shot in the middle.

    But in reality, Rohit is just being himself. He is so naturally gifted that he knows he doesn’t need to do anything extraordinary to succeed and if it gives the impression that he is lazy, so be it. It’s not his problem.

    “Now, Rohit is laid back. It was sometime that you got the feeling that the game came too easy to him, till he realised that 'god has given me this gift and now let me also work harder and make the most of it'. And when in full flow, there are few batters who play like him," said the former India coach.

    Even Kohli had once acknowledged the same thing in the Breakfast With Champions show and said that he has that one-and-a-half seconds extra than any other player and that’s his USP.

    So, instead of jumping the gun and trolling Shastri for his comments, it would be better if you understood the connotations.

    For the next day of promotions, Ananya decided to opt for a full-sleeve red mini dress but the trolling didn’t stop. This time, the video of the actress adjusting her dress while walking to avoid a wardrobe malfunction has gone viral.

    For the unversed, the comments about the “struggle” bit is in reference to her statement where she had talked about her struggle being a star kid and had said, “Everyone has their own journey and their own struggle.” 

    She had also, in a way, equated struggle to not being a part of Koffee With Karan saying her father was never invited to the show. 
    Ananya had later talked about her statement and had admitted she could’ve worded it better. But trolls being trolls didn't spare her.
    As for the promotions of Gehraiyaan, the actress was also seen addressing the jacket incident and said that she is wearing full sleeves today. Deepika was also seen laughing about it saying, “Abhi woh jacket dega, phir aap sab bologe (Now he will give her his jacket and you all will talk).”

    The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been dealing with a lot of heat from fans ever since the fallout between the board president Sourav Ganguly and former India skipper Virat Kohli became public news. 
    Cricket fans feel Kohli was forced to leave the leadership role despite having the best record among all Indian captains in the history of the country's cricketing journey. 
    Also, the selections have been a bit dodgy, of late. 
    The Indian board has failed to give clear reasons behind picking players or dropping individuals and that has not gone well with the cricket enthusiasts in the country.

    Late on Wednesday, the BCCI took to Twitter to reveal the ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming home series against the West Indies. 
    The highlight was the return of India’s designated white-ball skipper Rohit Sharma, who recently completed his rehab at the National Cricket Academy.
    ODI squad: Rohit Sharma (Capt), KL Rahul (vc), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shikhar, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (wk), D Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Y Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Avesh Khan

    From the ODIs, all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin were the notable omissions. 
    Notably, Venkatesh Iyer played just two matches out of the three ODIs in South Africa while Kishan did not get a single game and yet he was axed from the ODI setup. 
    The selectors brought back Kuldeep Yadav and gave chances to Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Hooda in the 50-over format.

    This decision was heavily criticised by Indian cricket fans who lambasted the board for “ruining potential players” with too much chop and change and overlooking performances in domestic cricket.
    Rishi Dhawan, who led Himachal Pradesh to Vijay Hazare trophy triumph, failed to make it to the ODI squad despite doing well with both bat and ball in India’s domestic 50-over competition.

    The BCCI mentioned that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have been rested while Ravindra Jadeja is still recovering from his injury. 
    The board also added that vice-captain KL Rahul will be available from 2nd ODI onwards and all-rounder Axar Patel will only be part of the T20Is.
    India were humbled by the Proteas in the three-match ODI series in South Africa recently where KL Rahul led the side in the absence of injured Rohit. 
    With the return of Rohit, as Indian cricket fans, we can only hope that things change for our team and we get back to winning ways. These white-ball series' will be crucial going forward as Team India will be fighting for their second T20 World Cup title later this year in Australia.
