A few days back, it was announced that after the success of Pushpa: The Rise and the newfound pan-India fame of its lead star Allu Arjun, the makers of his 2020 Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo will now be opting for a Hindi dubbed release that too in theatres.Β
Considering no new Hindi film is up for a release in theatres due to the Omicron scare, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is expected to spring a surprise and help the theatre business in the Hindi belts.Β
However, the Hindi dubbed release announcement of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo turned out to be a huge blow for Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming film Shehzada directed by Rohit Dhawan.Β
The film is a Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and is currently under production.Β
With the Allu Arjun starrer opting for a theatrical release in Hindi belts, there are high chances that it hampers the prospects of its Hindi remake at the box office.

And it turns out, Paresh Rawal, who plays an important role in the Hindi remake isn’t happy about this development. Rather, he is β€œshocked”. Moreover, he also says that their Hindi remake is much more refined than the Telugu original and pins his hope on the fan-following of Kartik Aaryan.Β

Speaking to India Today, when Paresh was asked about his take on Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi dubbed release, he said, β€œFrankly, I'm shocked by this news. And yes, this can affect the business of Shehzada, but since Kartik [Aaryan] has a loyal fan following and his popularity is huge, so it should definitely work in our favour. Moreover, our Hindi version compared to the South one is much more refined, if I can say that. The sets are fantastic, the house we shot in Delhi is beautiful, the overall production value of the film is very good. It is handled in a different way catering to our audience. So, this release should not affect Shehzada.”
Further talking about whether it is wise to remake a successful film in today’s time, the veteran actor added, β€œBut given the situation we are in currently, when everything is available at the click of a button, is it wise to make remakes. One will have to be very careful when they make the contract. Till we exhaust our run, we will not dub it in Hindi, that has to be taken care of. Otherwise, there is no use in making these films, when people are investing a lot, in terms of money, time and careers are also at stake. So in that case, one will have to be watchful about it.”

Besides Kartik Aaryan & Paresh Rawal, Shehzada also stars Kriti Sanon & Manisha Koirala.Β

Producer Manish Shah, who is releasing the Allu Arjun starrer in Hindi also believes that Shehzada won't be affected by this move. He told TOI, "Shehzada has a frontline Hindi star cast and is being shot in a very big way. It is definitely going to do well."
Recently, the teaser for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’s Hindi dubbed release was dropped online.Β

Former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has criticised the selectors for lacking the foresight of training and developing another leader in the Indian cricket team who could replace Virat Kohli as the next Test captain over the last few years.
After losing the Test series against South Africa on their home turf, Kohli did not take long to declare himself retired as the leader of the Indian squad in red-ball cricket. While the decision did take some of his fans by surprise, names like Sunil Gavaskar were not shocked at all and confessed that they’d seen it coming from a mile away.

However, ever since Kohli shared the news with the world with a bunch of social media posts all over the internet, multiple names have come forward to fill his shoes in the longest format of the game. The most prominent names that are the most likely to do so are Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, although certain people of the Indian cricket community are also pushing for the 24-year old Rishabh Pant and the ace-pacer Jasprit Bumram to hold the mettle now.
Vengsarkar, on the other hand, believes that the selectors were unable to pick the proper man to succeed Kohli as captain because they lacked vision.

β€œIt has been caused over the years by the selectors’ lack of vision in grooming a captain for the future. Like we groomed Dhoni, they just haven’t identified the right man to replace Kohli as a captain. I just couldn’t understand why Shikhar Dhawan was named as the captain of India’s tour of Sri Lanka last year," Vengsarkar told The Times of India.
Reliving the time from back in the 2000s, Vengakarar expressed how seamlessly did the team selectors manage to make a transition after Rahul Dravid decided to give up the captaincy job.

β€œWe wanted to give some more time to Dhoni before he took the Test captaincy. He was already the white-ball captain, and we wanted him to learn a few things by following Kumble closely. Kumble led India superbly in that period," he recalled.
There have been a lot of whispers around the news of Kohli quitting the captaincy in Test cricket despite having the greatest winning record among all the other Indian skippers.Β
Some feel that it was the wrongdoing of the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah who wanted him gone from the map of Indian cricket after he made a direct contradiction to Ganguly’s words in a press conference before leaving for South Africa.

Meanwhile, others feel that Kohli genuinely wanted to get himself rid of all the additional responsibilities that he had to deal with as the captain and wanted to spend the remainder of his professional career working on different ways to become a better batsman and chase his dreams of becoming the best in the world.
Whatever the case may be, the fact remains that with Kohli’s time as the Indian skipper now a thing of the past, it would be extremely difficult for his successor to live up to the standards that he has set.
