That it takes very little to irk anyone over social media these days, is a fact, but that people now get offended or make fun of the simplistic of things is almost as cringey as their comments sometimes.
Like this one troll, who thought it was funny to troll actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh over refueling his car himself.
You see, when actors achieve celebrity status, people think they are constantly living a life of luxury and privilege. And most of the time, they are.
However, there will always be moments where they’re running errands just like us, reminding us that there isn’t as much of a difference between them and us, and that is okay.

    — DILJIT DOSANJH (@diljitdosanjh) January 7, 2022
Singer Diljit Dosanjh who is often putting up videos of him cooking in the kitchen or driving around is big on taking responsibility for certain things on himself as he lives abroad, and was recently called out for refuelling his own car.
He had put up a picture of himself on a gas station with a caption reading, 'Somewhere On Planet Earth.'
Meanwhile, an unimpressed troll commented on that picture saying, “There (overseas), you have to fill your car's gas tank yourself. What's the use if there is so much shortage of people there. You should have 2-4 guys at your service for such things. Rest, don't take offence of what I said."

Diljit, who didn't take offence to the comment but also didn’t let it slide, wrote back in Punjabi, “Mama.. Gal Soch Di aa Eh Hee Soch Aa Jehdi Kam Nu VADDA Shota Bana Dendi aa..Soch Badal Mama.. Eh Oh Hee Soch Aa Jehdi Na Aap Kush Kardi aa Te Na Kisey Nu Kush Karn dendi Aa.. Tere Vargeya bare hee Kiha Janda..Dunia Ki KAHU Gi.. “Gussa Na Kari Veer.”
This loosely translated into him saying, “It's about the mindset. This mindset makes a task big or small. Change your mindset brother. This is the same mindset which neither makes you happy nor let anyone else be happy. It's said about people like you - that what will people think. Don't be angry brother."

    — Harjinder k Judge (@harjind66859698) January 11, 2022 Fans immediately reacted to Diljit’s reply and supported him in his argument, dropping comments like, “In the duniya (world) of negativity ..Be a @diljitdosanjh and spread positivity and love! #DiljitDosanjh Sparkles."
As far as work is concerned, the Punjabi singer and actor was recently seen in the movie Honsla Rakh alongside Shehnaaz Gill and Sonam Bajwa.

South actor Siddharth, who is also known for his performance in Aamir Khan's 2006 hit Rang De Basanti, has been receiving backlash on social media ever since he posted an alleged ‘sexist’ tweet targeting ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. However, he has now issued a public apology for his "rude joke" in response to Nehwal's tweet condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security breach in Punjab.
    View this post on Instagram
In the apology posted on Twitter, the actor has cleared that his intention was not malicious and the controversial tweet was just his "word play and humour".
Siddharth's apology letter reads, "Dear Saina, I want to apologise to you for my rude joke that I wrote as a response to a tweet of yours, a few days ago. I may disagree with you on many things but even my disappointment or anger when I read your tweet, cannot justify my tone and words. I know I have more grace in me than that. As for the joke... If a joke needs to be explained, then it wasn't a very good joke to begin with. Sorry about a joke that didn't land".
    View this post on Instagram
He added, "I, however, must insist my word play and humour had none of the malicious intent that so many people from all quarters have attributed to it. I am a staunch feminist ally and I assure you there was no gender implied in my tweet and certainly no intent to attack you as a woman".

He ended the letter with the hope that they can put this behind and added that Saina will always be her champion. Check out his post here:

The Bommarillu star’s apology has been receiving mixed reactions from netizens. While a section of social media users appreciated Siddharth for his public apology, others expressed that it is just a "cover up". Reacting to the actor's post, a user wrote, "Atleast show some courage in accepting the wrong doing. This looks more like a cover up than an apology. An apology should be unconditional. Do you really think you can act smart even now ? Period".
Another wrote, "This does not look like a genuine apology. You are still adamant to admit that it was a sexist comment targetting women. Just because it has double meanings it does not become correct. Face the legal consequences". "I respect you for this.  It takes a lot of courage and maturity to be able to apologize," reads another tweet.
    Here are a few reactions:

Wow that's not even an apology 🙄. He has just put it back on her, telling her that she lacks a sense of humour and how disappointed HE is with her opinion. So full of himself 😬

This does not look like a genuine apology. You are still adamant to admit that it was a sexist comment targetting women. Just because it has double meanings it does not become correct. Face the legal consequences.

Instead of this bakwaas , a plain simple SORRY would have aptly represented your intent...But then again, your intent itself is questionable 🤷‍♀️
    — Shephalika Gokhale (@shephalikag) January 11, 2022
I don’t understand your anger towards her post. Her post showed concern towards the country’s PM’s security. Why should you be angry or try to make a joke out of it. Shouldn’t you be to equally concerned about his safety ?? If you think Indian, then you sure would be concerned.
    — Proudindian (@umamaheshwari56) January 11, 2022
If a joke needs to be explained, then it wasn't a very good joke to begin
    with.

Same for apology also . If an apology needs to be explained, then it wasn't an apology at all .

If u wanna apologise, do it unconditionally without explanation.

    — Bharti (@_bharti_0901) January 11, 2022
I just don't get what people want, if an actor apologises to a mistake he is still wrong in people's opinions, and if he doesn't apologise and yet he is still wrong because he didn't apologise. Like what more do you want from a person. Don't turn this into a bigger mess it is.
    — simarpreet singh basra (@BasraSimarpreet) January 11, 2022
I respect you for this. It takes a lot of courage and maturity to be able to apologize.
    — KS (@kanchisrini) January 11, 2022
Are you satisfied with Siddharth's apology? Let us know in the comment section.

For the unversed, Siddharth had taken a dig at Nehwal in his controversial tweet (now deleted). He had written, "Subtle cock champion of the world… Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna".
Since then, he has been at the receiving end with several well-known names criticising him for his choice of words. The National Commission for Women (NCW) too slammed the actor and issued a notice to Twitter India demanding a ban on his account.

Saying that Ajinkya Rahane is struggling with his form will be an understatement, considering his recent performances in Test cricket.
Rahane, who was leading the side in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli, had begun 2021 with an astonishing Test series win in Australia. But one year later, he not only lost the vice-captaincy tag but his place on the squad in the longest format of the game is also in question.
After registering a string of low scores in the ongoing tour of South Africa, Rahane showed some signs of form with a half-century in the second innings of the second Test in Johannesburg.
However, his efforts though went in vain as the hosts emerged victorious and levelled the series.
Pause. Reflect. Reset. But, never stop. #GameModeOn pic.twitter.com/BcejDNMOMH
    — Ajinkya Rahane (@ajinkyarahane88) July 17, 2021 Rahane was once again given a chance ahead of Hanuma Vihari as a returning Virat Kohli replaced the latter in the playing XI for the Test series decider.
Rahane walked out to bat with India in a tricky situation at 95 for three after winning the toss on Tuesday.
Expected to use his experience and steer the visitors to a comfortable position, Rahane once again failed to deliver as he was caught behind the stumps for just nine.
    Rahane falls for 9!

Rabada with the nagging line induces the edge, and India are now 116/4.

After being given out by the on-field umpire, Rahane decided to challenge the decision. However, the replays confirm that there was a clear deflection of his bat as the ball went straight into the hands of the wicket-keeper and Rahane perished cheaply.

Fans were already against the call of giving Rahane an extended run despite not scoring big runs and they got another opportunity to have a go at the former vice-captain after his dubious DRS call.
Hope that it's not a review on Rahane's career.
    — Sudhanwa Pathak MBBS (@pathaksudh) January 11, 2022Ajinkya Rahane reviews a Knick to save his career...But!!#INDvsSA #SAvIND
    — KKR Bhakt (@KKRSince2011) January 11, 2022Why on earth did Rahane review that clear edge? #INDvsSA
    — Nitin Deshpande (@nitingdeshpande) January 11, 2022And we have played him in place of Vihari....
Pls someone throw Ajinkya Rahane out yrr..

    — Rohan (@rohanck31) January 11, 2022Review waste mat kar Rahane
    — Positive Entropy (@EntropyPositive) January 11, 2022He has gone forward in time and seen that India won't need that review. As with everything Rahane does, this is based on the team's needs as well. https://t.co/wBsLK57MYa
    — Alagappan Vijayakumar (@IndianMourinho) January 11, 2022 After Rahane's departure, the lower-middle order failed to support Kohli, who notched up a fighting half-century and was the standout performer on the day that went in the favour of the Proteas.
With wickets falling from the other end, Kohli's resistance outside the off-stump was broken by Kagiso Rabada as the India skipper looked to add some quick runs for his side.
India were bundled out on the opening day of the Test match, but they will take heart from the fact that Jasprit Bumrah managed to send back previous match's MVP Dean Elgar to the pavilion before Stumps.
The onus is now on the bowlers to get India back into the contest and back on track for what would be a historic series win in South Africa.

The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Ramiz Raja has spoken about how he wishes to revive the historical rivalry between India and Pakistan on the cricket ground and is set to propose a special quadrangular series among India, Pakistan, Australia and England in the next meeting of the International Cricket Council.

    — Vishal (@whovishalsingh) January 11, 2022Ganguly had already proposed this in 2019 with India, England and Australia with a possible 4th team. Although I agree Pakistan being the 4th team is great in terms of revenue but it is terrible for cricket and a very bad idea.
    — Abhijit (@ChaiMeiDubaBskt) January 11, 2022Not possible...

    No series with India...

India will never agree for playing Pakistan in any bilateral/trilateral/Quad Series...

    — BDS (@Acethoughts8) January 11, 2022The PCB had a disappointing 2021 when some of the biggest teams in international cricket including England and New Zealand backtracked from their commitment to play bilateral series Pakistan after feeling unsure about the security facilities in the country.
To be fair, the players, especially the Black Caps had all the reasons in the world to worry for their lives after cricketer Martin Guptill’s wife received threats on her husband’s life through an email. The Pakistani government declared that the threat mail was written in India and claimed that it was absolutely safe to play matches in their stadiums. Nonetheless, neither the Kiwis nor the Englishmen wanted to take any chances. As a result, the PCB had to face some massive financial losses.

However, they did manage to fly down the West Indies squad for a T20I series and the hosts won all three matches convincingly.
The Australian cricket team are now planning to tour Pakistan for three Tests, three ODIs and a solitary T20I starting from March 3, 2022. One of the Aussi players who is looking forward to this tour the most is the Pakistan-born Usman Khwaja who says that he had always enjoyed incredible support while visiting the country in the past.
Ahead of the Pakistan vs Australia World Cup semi-final on Thursday, both cricket boards have announced details of Australia's tour of Pakistan next year. Whoever timed that deserves a raise. Todd Greenberg, the CEO of the Australian Cricket Association (ACA), has also stated that he will accompany the Australian players to Pakistan. In this sense, Greenberg remarked that he wants to show the players that he is with the Australian team.

From newspapers to television debates, one topic that has taken centre stage over the last few years is “electric mobility”. Electric vehicles produce zero emissions when on the road and help mitigate climate change - making it the future of urban transportation.
Why Switch To Electric Vehicles? For starters, the maintenance of electric vehicles costs way less, almost 50 per cent cheaper than petrol or diesel vehicles. They offer smoother transmission and have a higher torque - this gives it a greater acceleration, and provides a quieter and enjoyable riding experience.
    iStock
Freedom from fuel and price hikes is among the major reasons why people are switching to electric.
Most importantly, an electric vehicle produces zero emissions on the go, which helps reduce the emission of carbon dioxide and other harmful greenhouse gases. This will go a long way in battling air pollution and climate change.

How Ampere Is Promoting E-Mobility Ampere (Greaves Electric Mobility’s two-wheeler unit) is known for its electric scooters that are paving the way for a green future. Did you know that in 2020, Ampere virtually launched its flagship model “Magnus” in the middle of a pandemic with a unique VR experience? Commendable!
    Ampere
Earlier this year, Ampere launched a mega electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu and have recently inaugurated their first of its kind experience center within the premises as well.
    Ampere
This uniquely designed experience centre helps the customers engage through digital interfaces, speak to electric vehicle experts, and learn about Ampere’s vision and mission in detail.

The video makes it loud and clear - Ampere wants to make “clean mobility” a possibility for all.
One must note that this 30+ acre plant in Ranipet is Greaves Electric Mobility’s largest electric vehicle manufacturing unit and it is also commendable that 70% of its current workforce is women.
    Ampere
This unique experience centre by Ampere also has an impressive EV lounge bar - out here, people can discuss disruption in the automobile industry and experience smart-tech integrated automotive technology.

Government Support Electric vehicles are the perfect step towards decarbonising the transport sector and the government is helping accomplish the same.
The government launched a scheme titled “Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid & Electric Vehicles in India” (FAME India) under the Ministry of Heavy Industries in 2015 - the main objective of the scheme is to promote the purchase of electric or hybrid vehicles (xEVs). Currently, phase 2 of FAME India (started on 1st April 2019) is in full swing and will be implemented for 5 years. It has a budget of Rs 10,000 crores and focuses on the electrification of public & shared transportation.
Another policy in progress aims to allow 16 to 18-year-olds to ride e-scooters.
Indian banks have also started giving loans at a lower interest rate compared to regular automobile loans, in order to promote EV purchases.
So, if you’re someone who wants to do their bit in securing a sustainable future for our planet, opt for electric vehicles right away.
Wondering where to start? Our top recommendation is the Ampere Magnus EX starting at Rs 71,999. The Magnus EX has a range of 100+km and also comes with a detachable battery pack that is easy to charge anywhere using a simple socket.
