    Sometimes rumour mills can work overtime and pose a threat to the societal standing of a celebrity. Back in 2014, when actor Hrithik Roshan and ex-wife Sussanne Khan announced their split, they broke a million hearts of fans rooting for this relationship. While they announced it was amicable and they continue to stay friends till date, there were some downtrodden rumors around Arjun Rampal being one of the reasons as the actor was a very close friend of the couple.

    Later when Arjun and wife Mehr Jessia announced their divorce, there were some upsetting headlines which speculated Sussanne’s closeness as one of the reasons that drove the couple to split up.

    Addressing the rumours and bashing them rightly so, Sussanne had issued a statement back then, clearing the air. “Arjun and Mehr are friends and have been for years. To poison a relationship such as this is malicious behavior. I have, with Mehr, earlier stated in the same paper that there is no truth to the claim that Arjun and I are anything more than friends," Firstpost quoted Sussanne.

    "I never was and am not an idle Bollywood wife who has all the time in the world to spread canards and lies that damage relationships and lives," she added. Clearly these were rumors as post their divorce, Arjun Rampal got into a relationship and even has a beautiful son with his partner Gabriella Demetriades.

    Bollywood star Ajay Devgn has worked tirelessly and most of the time, effortlessly in the field where he is just so good.

    Yeah! Ajay has really been working relentlessly in the industry ever since making his debut in Phool Aur Kaante all the way back in 1991.

    This is one of the reasons why Ajay is clearly at that stage in life and career where he can choose to do the kind of films that he wants to do, the kind of people he wants to work with.
    And that's exactly what he's been doing.
    Ajay is also at the center of many Bollywood universes, thanks to pal Rohit Shetty and his own acting abilities.

    He's the main character of the Golmaal series as well as the Singham series which has now become a big cop universe that also has superstars Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar.

    Having said all of that, you can understand that with the kind of experience Ajay has, it's fair to say that it doesn't come cheap at all, with the actor earning a lot of money for his roles.
    You know that if you have Ajay on board a film, it's almost guaranteed success at the box office. This may point out his salary in one of his upcoming films.
    We are talking about SS Rajamouli's RRR which also stars actors Ram Charan, NTR Jr., and Alia Bhatt.

    The movie, with the tremendous star cast, is obviously a much-awaited film being made on a very grand scale.

    So, it is natural that Ajay gets a big slice of the pie as well. That's right. Ajay is reported to get a lot of money for his cameo role in the film.
    In fact, if the reports are true, the earnings actually are a hell of a lot bigger than many superstars' normal movie incomes.
    As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, Ajay's getting a staggering Rs. 35 Crore rupees for his cameo role, for which he worked for around 7 days.
    "Devgn’s presence in RRR is a trickier situation. Although he features in a guest appearance he is almost a leading man in terms of the character’s development and impact. For 7 days’ work, Devgn has been paid a whopping Rs 35 crores."

    Alia's salary, on the other hand, is what she charges normally.

    “At least Alia Bhatt has been paid what she normally charges other producers in Mumbai. Although she has less than twenty minutes of playing-time she is the official leading lady of RRR and has been paid close to Rs. 9 crores for her brief role,” the report said citing a source.
    The report further shed light on the impact that Ajay and Alia have in North India.
    “Devgn and Alia are the audience-baiters in North India. Over there only Rajamouli sells as the director of Baahubali. But is that enough?” said the source.
    We knew Ajay was a wonderful actor, yes. But his star pull, of course, cannot be understated.

    Chinese smartphone-manufacturing brand Vivo has pulled out as the title sponsor of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The decision was taken at the IPL Governing Council meeting and in the same meeting the name of the new title sponsor was also finalised.
    This was the second time in the last 17 months when the Chinese company had to end its association with the world’s biggest cricket league.
    Vivo had splashed a whopping amount, approximately Rs 440 crore for each season, to acquire the title sponsorship of the cash-rich league back in 2017 for a duration of five years.
    Ahead of IPL 2020, the mega deal was paused due to the diplomatic tension between the two countries India and China. The political tension between the two Asian giants had caused a huge outrage and there was  negative sentiment against the Chinese brands operating in the country. 
    But unlike last time, this association has come to a permanent end and the BCCI has brought Tata on board for the remaining two seasons. It’s not clear if Tata will be paying the same amount as Vivo or has been offered some relaxation just like Dream 11, which came on board in 2020k.
    The news garnered mixed reactions on social networking sites, with some people calling it a step taken in the right direction and others describing it as an effort to please a particular ideology, with taking into account the financial ramifications.
    The Indian fans, who had since long been demanding the BCCI to disassociate itself with the Chinese brands and partner with Indian companies more, welcomed the move.

    We’ve all had the iconic funny woolen cap that would cover our entire face barring the eyes when we were kids.  
    Remember how our moms would forcefully make us wear them in the winter while going to school? We definitely hated it because it looked weird and made us look like a robber in a uniform.  
    Those were monkey caps that are still worn by kids, elderly uncles and the suspicious-looking guard in horror movies!

    Turns out, the thing that we detested as kids has now become a fashion revolution during the pandemic. Or, this is what a foriegn brand thinks that is selling similar caps and calling them the ‘hat, mask and scarf set’.  

    Since the utilitarian cap covers your head, neck and the lower face, it acts as the perfect all-in-one headgear for winters.

    Well, that’s great but the problem is they are no ‘hat, mask scarf’ but money caps. What’s more is that the brand is selling them for almost $40 which is almost Rs 3000 

    A monkey cap sold under a fancy name is one thing but what left our jaws on the floor was the price, because we have seen our parents getting it from the local store for not more than Rs 200-300.

    The thing is, however, useful this balaclava hat is (yes that’s what it is otherwise called), it possibly gives no protection from Covid since the knitted or crochet fabric doesn’t trap the air droplets and thus doesn’t help.  

    So, basically it is just a winter cap that keeps the face and neck warm, or as we desis like to call it, a monkey cap!

    Often mainstream films, be it in South or Bollywood, are accused of sexism and promoting stalking as romance. 
    Allegedly, this practice is more rampant in Telugu cinema. The most recent example of the same is being touted as the Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa. 
    Recently, in an interview with Film Companion, Nagarjuna was asked about the allegations of sexism against Telugu cinema and often “stalking is promoted as romance.”

    He said that more often than not, things are lost in translation. He added that Telugu language, when literally translated to English, may come across as sexist. 

    “The Telugu language is such, if you translate it literally into English, it is going to look very, very sexist. I also tried to analyze this with many people and talked about it. Even if you pick out Bangarraju songs, they are pure folk tunes... If you translate those lines, it will look like… I mean, there are lines which are so beautiful when they are written in Telugu but if you translate it in English, it is going to be like, ‘Are you going to sleep with me tonight?’ They translate like that but if you look at it, you see Telugu women singing those.”
    He further admitted that there are some films that are sexist but “majority” of Telugu cinema isn’t like that. 
    “There are some films which definitely are doing what you said they are doing. The world is not a perfect place, this happens. But the majority is not like that.”

    Rahul Dravid, who celebrated his 49th birthday on Tuesday, is probably the most versatile cricketer to have ever donned the Indian jersey. He played as an opener, played at number three, kept wickets and even bowled to allow the team to be as flexible as possible.  
    After retiring from international cricket, Dravid took over as the head of National Cricket Academy and helped nurture young talent to excel at the big stage. 
    The former India captain was brought in by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as the replacement for Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the men's senior team.

    Among the numerous birthday wishes that flooded social media, one came from one of the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises -- Lucknow. 
    Wishing Dravid, the official page of Lucknow called 'The Wall' as the greatest number three batter India ever produced. Dravid's numbers are impeccable and most of the fans agreed with the new IPL team.

    Katrina Kaif is surely one of the bankable stars of Bollywood but she entered the industry with the 2003 movie Boom. Her character of a model in the movie was in the limelight because of her bold avatar and also the lip-lock scene with Gulshan Grover.
    There were various reports that claimed that Katrina and Gulshan rehearsed for the scene for almost two hours in a locked room. Their steamy sequence garnered almost 40 million views on YouTube. Gulshan has been quite open when it comes to talking about it publicly but Katrina hasn’t felt very comfortable acknowledging it.

    It was also reported that Salman Khan got the scene deleted from the movie. As per various other reports, Katrina had admitted doing the scene but didn’t want to divulge into discussing it in detail. 
    In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gulshan was asked about these reports and the infamous kiss scene. He said that the reports were blown out of proportion and yes, they did rehearse dialogues and the scene but it wasn’t how it was portrayed in the gossip columns. 
    Siddharth went to tell Gulshan that Katrina doesn’t acknowledge the scene while he is okay with it. On this, the actor said, “I am a more experienced actor and I have been in the industry for many years. I have never looked back and I am rising every day. Mera yeh manna hai that jo kaam kardiya hai ek kalakaar ne ya koi tasveer khich gayi hai ya koi video ban gaya, it’s a part of history and aapke dabane se ya na baat karne se koi fayda nahi hai. Every celebrity needs to acknowledge it. In the world of social media and electronic media, it will only magnify and not die down.”

    He went on to add, “With heroines, the problem was more to do with the fact that they didn’t look glamorous enough in their previous photos and videos when they started their careers as they felt they looked ‘behenji’ types. With time when you get more glamorous and your fashion charm increases, actresses don’t want their old pictures to circulate. I have gone to many agencies wherein I have heard that actresses want to get rid of older videos and pictures.”

    If there has been one name that has not just cracked into headlines but also managed to stay in them for a good few months, first because of her impending divorce and later, because of the phenomenal work she was doing, it has been that of South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

    Putting on a brave face even in light of personal tragedy and turmoil, the South actress has managed to keep her chin up and take things in her stride. 

    However, no matter how strong she has been about her separation with former husband Naga Chaitanya, she’s had her blue moments where she, too, has fallen apart.
    Fans, while often scrutinizing every aspect of a celebrity’s life, forget how they too are human and feel the same emotions as we do when we’re dealing with a loss. 
    And so, to remind fans and everyone else who took a deep and profound interest in her personal matters, Samantha opened up about the kind of weaknesses and pain celebrities face.

    Talking to Hindustan Time, Samantha shared, “We live in an increasingly stressful world where there is so much focus, whether it is on social media, on portraying perfect lives. It is becoming more difficult to speak about our weaknesses, our pain, our anxiety because there is so much focus… Being very active on social media, I noticed the stress on portraying perfect lives. No one’s life is perfect, trust me.”

    Dropping some more truth bombs while she was at it, the Family Man 2 actress also said, “I think it is time for people like us, people like me most definitely, to speak about not just the glitz and glamour but also the pain, the suffering, the lows. It is normal for all of us to go through that, it is too normal to talk about it and it is normal to ask for help.”

    Samantha then cited an example out of her own life as she went on to share, “ I have gone through a difficult time in my life and asked for help. I have sought help from my friends and counsellors and that has made a huge difference in my life. If I am sitting here today, strong and ready for the next part of my life, it is not just because I was strong but it is because many people around me helped me to be strong.”  

    And perhaps that is the need of the hour - to normalize feeling low and seeking help in those times. Especially during such uncertain times.
