    At one stage Indian cricket was blessed with batters who used to instil fear among the opposition with just their sheer presence in the playing XI. 
    Indian cricket has seen a lot of changes lately with the appointment of Rahul Dravid as the head coach and Rohit Sharma replacing Virat Kohli as the skipper in the limited overs format. 
    The role of head of the National Cricket Academy, which was held by Dravid, was taken up by another legend of Indian cricket -- VVS Laxman.

    With Sourav Ganguly at the helm of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, a report started doing the rounds on social media that the Indian board is looking to have another legend of the game on board. 
    According to a Times of India report, BCCI secretary Jay Shah is looking to convince Sachin Tendulkar, who has worked as the mentor for five-time Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians, to accept a role in Indian cricket. 
    "He’s (Shah) been off the media radar but absolutely clear about what is the right thing to do. Little things that matter. For instance, appointing Rahul Dravid as head coach, ensuring someone of the stature of VVS Laxman gets associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA). We’re told he’s now trying to convince Sachin Tendulkar to get into some role in the near future,” said BCCI members in the know, as per TOI.

    Before actress Samantha Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya fell in love and got married, she was in a relationship with actor Siddharth. He’s the same actor who is currently in the news for his problematic tweets for Saina Nehwal. The couple broke up in 2015 and soon after she found love in Naga Chaitanya.

    However, the transition from their love story blossoming and making fans root for them to the two absurdly calling it quits wasn’t a smooth affair. According to a TOI report, Samantha was keen on settling down but Siddharth was not. According to sources, Siddharth’s closeness with another actress was one of the reasons the two grew apart.

    ‘Siddharth and Deepa have been spotted hanging out together quite a few times in the past. Siddharth was instrumental in her bagging the role, and the couple’s closeness could have caused the rift”. Another source claimed that he didn’t like Samantha being friends with her male colleagues and the possessiveness was getting to her. While the two never actually made the split public, she did tweet out post the break up that she was not a victim and that people should stop making reports around them.

    The two got close and started dating after working in Jabardust together. After that, they were often spotted at parties and events together. Another portal quoted Samantha on her life post break up and she said , “I would have fallen into such a crisis in my personal life, just like actress Savithri. But thankfully, very soon, I realised it in the beginning and walked out of the relationship. This was when I sensed that it could end up bad. And then I'm blessed to have a person like Naga Chaitanya in my life. He's a gem.”

    Siddharth had also posted a tweet which read, "Nagoor biriyani ulundur pettai la irukara naai ku dan kidaikumna adha yaarum matha mudiyadhu. ( If a street dog in Ulundurpettai is destined to get Nagoor biryani, no one can stop it) after the news of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya dating made it to headlines.

    Tobey Maguire is one actor who probably may not have done a lot of movies in recent years, but ask whoever you know, everyone loves him for his role as the first Spider-Man on the big screen. 
    You could almost say that he was one of the founding members of the superhero movie universes that have become so popular right now.

    Spoiler Alert! 

    We Spider-Man fans were literally treated to the biggest cinematic spectacle which was Tom Holland's Spider-Man: No Way Home movie, where Tobey and Amazing Spider-Man Andrew Garfield made an insane comeback. 
    Tobey's return had some amazing nostalgic trips for fans and we certainly remembered so many good things about the original Sam Raimi movies. 
    Now, one such iconic scene from the first Spider-Man movie was the kissing scene between Tobey and Kirsten Dunst, who played the role of Mary Jane Watson in the movie. 
    The scene involved an inverted Spider-Man hanging with his web and kissing Mary Jane.

    The scene was really beautiful and looked absolutely awesome in the movies. However, the behind-the-scenes story is something very different. According to Tobey, who spoke about it in an old interview, the kiss was so difficult as he could not even breathe. 

    If you can remember the scene, there was a lot of rain when Spider-Man and Mary Jane kiss. Now, with Tobey's Spider-Man upside down, the water just kept on blocking his nostrils in the scene. 
    “When he was doing the scene, I remember the water was falling down into his upside-down nostrils, so he was kind of drowning. But it was a kissing scene. So, he had to pretend like it was a pleasant, sweet moment for him, when in fact, he was semi-drowning.” said Raimi. 
    Tobey revealed how he felt for Kirsten during the scene. 
    “There was rain pouring up or down my nose. I couldn’t breathe and I was gasping for breath out of the corner of Kirsten’s mouth. Poor girl. I was giving her mouth to mouth rather than kissing her.” 
    Wow! That does sound very troublesome.

    Mouni Roy, who made her acting debut with Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, entered Bollywood with Reema Kagti's 2018 hit Gold opposite Akshay Kumar and has indeed come a long way in her career. Since last year, there have been constant rumours that the actress has decided to settle down in her personal life and will be getting married to beau Suraj Nambiar.     There were speculations that Mouni and Suraj will be tying the knot in Dubai, however, it has now been revealed that the couple will reportedly exchange nuptial vows in Goa. 

    Talking further about the wedding, a source informed Hindustan Times, "A five-star resort has been booked as the venue. Although invites have started going out, the guests have been asked to be tight-lipped about it. All the guests have been asked to carry their vaccination certificates".
    The report further stated that W Goa near the Vagator beach might be the venue. Also, the sea-facing beach wedding is expected to be held in the afternoon. After the ceremony, the couple is planning to host a dance bash on January 28.

    On the Bollywood front, Mouni will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji's much-hyped film Brahmastra. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, the movie is slated to hit the theatres later this year, on September 9. 
    For the unversed, her beau Suraj is a Dubai-based businessman as well as an investment banker. Reportedly, the duo first met each other at Mandira Bedi's residence.

    A life full of regrets is a life not lived yet.  
    Well, if that’s true then no one has really lived because it is impossible to have no regrets in life, especially for us Indians whose major life decisions like careers, life partners and such are influenced by society and our parents.  
    It leaves less room for living life on our terms and more room for regrets.

    Saina Nehwal was the first badminton star from India to win an Olympic medal when she bagged the bronze in London in 2012. A decorated sports star, Saina is also a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
    Saina, who is in Delhi for the ongoing India Open tournament, was in the news recently after receiving a reply from actor Siddharth, who has shared the screen with Aamir Khan in Rang De Basanti, that became the talk of the town and was deemed 'sexist' by many.

    For context, Saina had condemned the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's convoy was stuck for a few minutes on a flyover in Punjab following a roadblock by protesting farmers.
    "No nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists. #BharatStandsWithModi #PMModi," Saina had tweeted.
    Siddharth, in a bid to take a dig at the ace badminton player, chose words that he soon regretted and was forced to issue an apology after facing criticism from all parts of the country.

    Saina's husband Parupalli Kashyap, who is also a star shuttler, had called out Siddharth and asked the actor to find better words to describe his opinion.

    In response to Siddharth's letter, Saina said she is happy in her own space and isn't bothered about what happened on social media.
    "He only said it and he is now apologising. I was surprised to see myself trending on Twitter that day. I haven’t spoken to him but I am happy that he apologised," Saina was quoted as saying on the sidelines of the ongoing India Open by news agency PTI.
    "See, it is about women, he shouldn’t target a woman like that but it’s okay, I am not bothered about it, I am happy in my space and god bless him," she added.
    While it is difficult to keep the sports or entertainment industry away from controversy, we will leave it for you to decide on who was right in this fiasco.

    Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who was recently seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re, is juggling between several interesting projects. Well, the actor is not in a mood to slow down as he has announced a new film. Sharing a fun teaser on Twitter, the Khiladi star announced Selfiee co-starring Emraan Hashmi. Backed by Karan Johar, it is the official Hindi remake of the Malayalam movie Driving Licence and will be directed by Good Newwz fame Raj Mehta.

    In the 49-second clip, Akshay is seen dancing his heart out with co-star Emraan Hashmi. The announcement has left social media users excited as Akshay and Emraan are working together for the first time in Selfiee.

    For the unversed, Driving Licence was released in 2019 and featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjarammoodu in lead roles. The film revolved around an actor who wants a driving license urgently and his ardent fan, a Motor Vehicle Inspector who agrees on delivering it illegally.  
    As suggested by the teaser, Akshay is playing the role of a superstar in Selfiee while Emraan will be seen as his fan. Well, this sounds interesting and we're looking forward to witnessing their camaraderie on the big screen.

    World number one men's tennis player Novak Djokovic's legal tussle with the Australia authorities has left people divided. While most of his fans want to see him defend his Australian Open title, there are people who want to see him deported for providing false information to the immigiration authorities.
    Recently, a video of two Australian news presenters Rebecca Maddern and Mike Amor of Seven News Melbourne went viral on social networking sites where the two could be seen criticising the Serbian superstar before going on-air.

    The discussion was part of an informal conversation off-air between the two news anchors, but someone recorded the whole episode and leaked it online.
    In the video, the female news anchor could be heard describing the nine-time Australian Open champion as a “lying sneaky a**hole”.

    “Whatever way you look at it, Novak Djokovic is a lying sneaky a***hole,” Maddern can be heard saying in the leaked video.
    Echoing the same sentiments, her co-presenter Amor also used certain expletives and described the tennis superstar’s COVID-19 vaccination exemption excuse as “f***ing lies”.

    “And then, he now ticking he didn't go to Spain,” Maddern added, referring to the false declaration about his travel history that Djokovic submitted before setting foot in Australia.

    Surprisingly, a wide majority of the people were on the same page as the news anchor. Most people argued that there was nothing wrong in what they said as Djokovic’s actions were worthy of a treatment like this.

    The raging controversy has been further fuelled after Djokovic, in an Instagram post, admitted his team submitted false information about his travel history in the immigiration form and called it a “human error”.

    Djokovic’s admission came after several media reports claimed that the 34-year-old tennis star didn’t inform the Australian authorities of attending public events in Serbia last month where he met with a journalist and also did a photo shoot.
    After this latest development it remains to be seen whether the Australian authorities allow him to participate in this year’s first Grand Slam or cancel his visa once again and deport him back to his country.

    A biopic on Sri Lankan cricket star Muttiah Muralitharan, titled 800, was announced in 2020 with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The makers also unveiled the actor's first look as Muralitharan which made headlines at that time. The poster got a positive response from fans, however, objections were raised by several Dravidian political parties on Sethupathi playing the role after Muralitharan allegedly supported Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakshe on his Anti-Tamil stand. This created a huge controversy due to which even Sethupathi opted out of the biopic.

    After Sethupathi's exit, director Seenu Ramaswamy announced that the biopic would be shelved, however, he changed his decision later. 

    Now, the latest buzz suggests that the makers have approached an international actor to step into the shoes of the off-spinner in 800. According to reports, the makers have contacted Dev Patel to replace Sethupathi in the biopic. Yes, you read that right! The team now wants the Slumdog Millionaire star to play the role of the cricketer on screen.

    From all the violence Muralitharan had faced during his childhood to his desire to be a cricketer, the biopic is expected to delve deep into his journey to become one of the best bowlers in the world. 

    Talking about Dev Patel, he rose to fame after playing the lead role in Danny Boyle's 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. Also featuring Freida Pinto, Anil Kapoor, and late Irrfan Khan, the movie was loosely based on the novel Q & A (2005) by author Vikas Swarup. For his performance, the actor was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He went on to be a part of various Hollywood and British projects including Chappie, Hotel Mumbai, The Last Airbender, The Wedding Guest among others.
    The actor will next be seen in Monkey Man which also marks his directorial debut.
