There's no doubt that Priyanka Chopra Jonas has really gone to such insane levels in her career that there seems to be absolutely no limit to her achievements.
Now, having worked in Bollywood for the longest time, Priyanka has been taking Hollywood by the storm and will be seen in plenty of movies and tv series in the future.
One of her latest high-profile movie assignments has been the one alongside Keanu Reeves, in which the 39-year-old actress plays the role of Sita in The Matrix Resurrections.
    © Village Roadshow Pictures
Now, for Priyanka, who made her Hollywood film debut in Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron's Baywatch, this is really a great opportunity to star in a big Hollywood film.

And by the looks of it, she's definitely taken the chance with both hands.
However, as per a news report, Priyanka's role in the film is rather 'limited'.
    View this post on Instagram
The report can be seen, stating that her role was just limited from 8 to 10 minutes.
“Sadly, for Priyanka Chopra Jonas fans, her role in The Matrix Resurrections is very, very limited. She is hardly there for around 8-10 minutes and appears only in the second half. In the first half, she can be seen in two shots, each lasting around 1 or 2 seconds. However, she does share screen space with the film’s lead, Keanu Reeves,” said the report.
Now, while Priyanka obviously has kept her silence on this till now, it looks like her mother, Madhu Chopra was having none of it.

While proudly defending her daughter, Mrs Chopra said that her role was crucial and pivotal in the plot of the film. She tweeted.

    Crucial and pivotal… FYI
    — madhu chopra (@madhuchopra) December 23, 2021
Now, that's seriously some way to defend one's daughter, and we're certainly with her on this.
I mean, in all honesty, it really shouldn't matter whether she has an 8 to 10-minute role or not. What actually matters is that she's reached a stage people can only dream of. To be part of a crazy successful franchise like The Matrix is something every actor would dream of.
Well, Priyanka's living it, and totally deserves it too.
Let us know what you think about it.

Allu Arjun’s recent release Pushpa was projected as his first pan-Indian film.
While he is already a known face in the Hindi speaking belt due to the popularity of his Hindi dubbed Telugu films that often garner huge viewership on TV, Pushpa was his official introduction to North India.
The movie was released on December 17 and had a low start in Hindi. However, over the course of the weekend, it saw a rise in the collection and has earned well in its week one.
The movie is now on course to be a success in Hindi, despite facing the box office juggernaut that was Spider-Man: No Way Home and almost zero promotions.
    © Goldmine Telefilms
In fact, for the Hindi version, the only promotion that Allu Arjun did was the press meet in Mumbai a day before the release. The press meet was also attended by actress Rashmika Mandana and music director Devi Sri Prasad.

During the press meet, Allu Arjun talked about the film, working with Rashmika, Indian cinema in general and the importance of catering to pan-Indian audiences.
Interestingly, he also tried to speak as much Hindi as possible despite not being very fluent in it. Often he answered the media questions in Hindi.
    © Goldmine Telefilms
However, the one incident that caught attention was his interaction with a journalist who asked him a question in Telugu.

As soon as the 'Stylish Star' heard the question, he quipped in his broken Hindi, “Arey Mumbai mein tum Telugu mein baat kyun kar rahe ho? Hindi mein baat karo bhai (Why are you talking in Telugu in Mumbai? You should speak in Hindi)” and laughed.

In recent years, there have been a lot of language-based discussions.

Last year, AR Rahman had courted controversy when he had asked the host at his film 99 Songs even in Chennai to converse in Tamil and not Hindi.
It so happened, the anchor of the event introduced lead actor Ehan Bhat in Hindi. AR Rahman responded to this with, “Hindi?” and walked off the stage. He then added, “Didn't I ask you already if you speak in Tamil or not?” He then returned to the stage and clarified, “I was only joking.”

If there was really a martial arts competition where all the Bollywood actors had to come down on the mat, participate and square it off, who would you really bet your money on?

Now, while there is obviously no dearth of superfit, abs flaunting stars in the industry, we know for a fact that there are two people who would have a great chance in making the actual final.
We are talking about the two very athletic and fit actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff.
    © Instagram
Now, while Akki has for long cemented his name in Bollywood as Khiladi. Tiger is one actor who in recent times has shown again and again that he possesses everything from flexibility, technique, and strength to be one of the fittest in real life.

Naturally, both actors have featured in a lot of action films, but how about seeing them together on screen? Exciting, right? Well, it is about to become the truth!
According to reports, both Akshay and Tiger are set to star together in a new Bollywood action-thriller film.
As per the inputs of Bollywood Hungama, the movie will actually be based on the storyline of Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda's Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan film.
    © Prime Video
The movie that was released way back in 1998 had Amitabh and Govinda both in double roles, with Raveen Tandon starring as the female lead.

Reports suggest that the new film with Akshay and Tiger will also be titled the same, and maybe we can expect it to be one with double roles for each.
Now, having seen Spider-Man: No Way Home, we know for sure how good some cameos can be for a film if they are some old familiar faces.
Let's just hope that if the reports of the movie remake are true, then Amitabh and Govinda too can make a brief appearance.
As per reports, the movie will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, with the producers being Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, and Deepshikha Bhagnani under their banner, Pooja Films.
The movie is reported to release sometime next year, probably at the end.

The much-anticipated Test series between South Africa and India is set to get underway with Centurioun’s Supersport Park playing host to the series opening Boxing Day Test.
The preparations for what promises to be an exciting red-ball series has reached its last stage and with only two days left in the opening match, Cricket South Africa (CSA) released an official promo of the tour, commemorating the 30-year friendship between the two cricket boards.
    View this post on Instagram
The two countries separated by the Indian Ocean have a long-shared history which goes beyond cricket. Mahatma Gandhi and Nelson Mandela, two of the biggest advocates of non-violence, belonged to these two countries.
Mahatma Gandhi, also known as Father of the Nation, arrived in South Africa in 1893 and began working as a local attorney. During his stay there he became the voice of the oppressed and challenged the local authorities by using non-violence as a weapon.

    — Cricket South Africa (@OfficialCSA) December 24, 2021
The promo of the ‘Freedom Series’ released by the CSA features visuals of Gandhi and other important personalities like Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa of that era who dedicate their lives towards making this world a better place.
The video also features some of the great cricketing heroes from both the countries, including Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. The video takes us through the journey of when India visited South Africa for the first time in 1993 to their more recent tour  in 2018.
    View this post on Instagram
From start to finish, the fans were mighty impressed by the quality of the promo. However, it soon turned into a huge controversy after a few supporters pointed out a glaring mistake in one of the visuals used in the one-minute long video.
At around the 11-second mark, the promo cuts into an old clip perhaps from India’s first-ever tour of the Rainbow Nation and it has infuriated many Indian fans. The clip shows two South African presenters eulogising about India’s historic visit to their shore.

Some fans noticed that the India map that was placed behind them was showing an inaccurate representation of the Indian territory. The Indian government has always maintained that Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and the Aksai Chin area in the Ladakh region are an integral part of India but the map used in that clip showed otherwise, which made Indian fans angry.

Soon all the praise turned into criticism as Indians flocked the micro-blogging site demanding the South African cricket to not only ratify their mistake but also render an apology for hurting the Indian sentiments.

Keeping Indian sentiment in mind, it would be in their best interest if they make the necessary changes to the promo.

In an interview with India Today, director Kabir Khan said, “We faced a lot of challenges while assembling the complete cast of 83. But, I would say, on the other hand, it was also a very joyful journey. As a filmmaker, for me, it’s the journey that matters, more than the release. So, 83 has been hugely rewarding to me, and I’m extremely happy with the film. Also, because 83 shows a collective memory of the country and I made every effort so that it all comes together. I am really proud of the film that I have made, and I can’t wait to show it to the world.”
He went on to add that his first choice was Ranveer Singh and he cannot imagine anybody else doing what Ranveer has done for the movie. Well, it seems like people agree with Kabir’s viewpoints and have appreciated his storytelling.

It is said that if there are two things our country is obsessed with then it is Cinema and Cricket. Over the years, the Hindi film industry has often tried to get a cricket-based film right on celluloid but most of the time, the result has been underwhelming.

One can count the number of successful cricket-based films in India - Lagaan, Iqbal and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Well, now add one more to the list - 83.
Directed by Kabir Khan, 83 is based on the real story of the Indian Cricket Team’s 1983 World Cup win in England. While India is at the top of its game in recent years in the gentlemen’s game but there was a time when they were considered as minnows.
However, in 1983, Kapil’s Devils did the unthinkable and as they say, the rest is history.
    © Reliance Entertainment
83 is a difficult film to execute. To recreate that era, revisit those players, their mannerisms, their attitude, the vibe of that India, and most importantly make it all entertaining, director Kabir Khan achieves it all with ease.

Most of the things we see in the movie are well documented, out in the open for the public to consume, but the movie takes us deep into the psyche of the underdog team that nobody believed in. We get to see the humans behind the legends of today.
The film not only showcases the underdog story but also how this win united the nation and how it affected the politics of that time.
Three major things that work in the film's favour are Kabir Khan’s deft direction, screenplay, and the performance of each and every cast member. In fact, the star cast is the major contributing factor in the film's success.
    © Reliance Entertainment
Props to casting director Mukesh Chhabra for getting the casting right.

Ranveer Singh (Kapil Dev), Saqib Saleem (Mohinder Amarnath), Tahir Raj Bhasin (Sunil Gavaskar), Jiiva (Krishnamachari Srikanth), Ammy Virk (Balwinder Singh Sandhu), Harrdy Sandhu (Madan Lal), Jatin Sarna (Yashpal Sharma), Chirag Patil (Sandeep Patil), Dinker Sharma (Kirti Azad), Nishat Dahiya (Roger Binny), Sahil Khattar (Syed Kirmani), Adinath Kothare (Dilip Vengsarkar), Dhairya Karwa (Ravi Shastri), R Badree (Sunil Valson) and Pankaj Tripathi (PR Man Singh) all of them did a splendid job.
Considering Ranveer is the major movie star here, there was not one moment where he overshadowed the others. He played a character and was simply outstanding in it. Definitely one of his best performances.
While every other cast member gets their moment under the sun, it is Tamil star Jiiva who makes the most of his character. Watch out for his performance during the High Commission meeting scene.
Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta and other actors have provided able support.
    © Reliance Entertainment
On the downside, the movie does feel a bit long and could’ve been trimmed by at least 10-15 minutes. Also, the matches while exciting to watch often missed the thrill factor.

Overall, 83 is a roller coaster ride of emotions through and through. You will find yourself cheering, laughing and shedding tears, often all at once.
Keep those tissues handy and hop on this ride.
