The wait is finally over. For the fans who were anxiously looking forward to watching Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's 83, the movie has hit the screens today. The sports drama is based on Team India’s underdog victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup. It was an emotional moment when Kapil Dev and his team made history. 

Apart from Ranveer and Deepika, the cast is as follows: Tahir Raj Bhasin as Sunil Gavaskar, Saqib Saleem as Mohinder Amarnath, Dhairya Karwa as Ravi Shastri, Jiiva as Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Harrdy Sandhu as Madan Lal, Ammy Virk as Balwinder Sandhu, Sahil Khattar as Syed Kirmani, Chirag Patil as Sandeep Patil, Adinath Kothare as Dilip Vengsarkar, Dinker Sharma as Kirti Azad, Jatin Sarna as Yashpal Sharma, Nishant Dahiya as Roger Binny and R Badree as Sunil Valson.

In an interview with India Today, director Kabir Khan said, “We faced a lot of challenges while assembling the complete cast of 83. But, I would say, on the other hand, it was also a very joyful journey. As a filmmaker, for me, it’s the journey that matters, more than the release. So, 83 has been hugely rewarding to me, and I’m extremely happy with the film. Also, because 83 shows a collective memory of the country and I made every effort so that it all comes together. I am really proud of the film that I have made, and I can’t wait to show it to the world.”  

He went on to add that his first choice was Ranveer Singh and he cannot imagine anybody else doing what Ranveer has done for the movie. Well, it seems like people agree with Kabir’s viewpoints and have appreciated his storytelling.

As many viewers have already watched the movie, we decided to go on social media platforms and see the reviews given by the common mass. Well, they have liked the movie and give it a huge thumbs up. They are calling it a ‘paisa vasool’ movie. People are also loving how Kabir presented the movie and are appreciating Ranveer and the entire cast of the movie.
