Anyone with the slightest interest in astrophysics (orΒ The Big Bang Theory) would have heard the name, Neil deGrasse Tyson.Β
The notorious astrophysicist is popular for his bold and cheeky remarks as well as his never-give-a-damn attitude. No wonder then that when he got down discussing God, science and capitalism, all in one breath, he got people talking.

Yup, we are talking about his infamous (and super fun) interview for Russell Brand’s Luminary Original podcastΒ Under The Skin.
Neil arrived for the podcast to promote his bookΒ Letters From An AstrophysicistΒ but landed up dropping some major truth bombs on the show. From discussing the inevitable possibility of a God to the ongoing argument that it’s hard to apply the tools of science to realms that may be beyond sensory experiences, Neil candidly answered it all.
At one point, Russell Brand couldn’t help but exclaim β€œcome on, there must be God!”

During the interview Neil also addressed one of the biggest burning questions – how can science be objective as it exists within a capitalist consumer culture that has certain agendas and objectives?Β
Is science controlled by the rich and powerful?

Explaining the role of capitalism in science, he pointed out how research and funding are driven by geopolitical forces. It could mean economic, it could mean militaristic or hegemonistic. It, however, does not affect what science finds to be objectively true.
β€œScientists are human like anybody else and we have bias like anybody else.”

Neil deGrasse Tyson also discussed how science has systems and tools in place to ferret out any pre-existing bias. Anyone can pick your experiment, conduct and show their results. It helps call out bias and questions your credibility as a scientist.Β Β
Excited to get an insider’s take on everything science, Russell got Neil to dabble on how science has propelled human understanding and how we interface with the unknowable. He even went on to address the role of ancient spiritual texts.

Can’t get enough of Neil’s in-depth knowledge of the scientific universe?
Head to Luminary to catch the full podcast of Neil deGrasse Tyson with Russell Brand for Under the Skin.
You can also check out his other episodes with intriguing people from different walks of life. He interviews a Holocaust survivor Dr. Edith Eger, talks about crypto and finance with Jordan Belfort and also addresses death and grief with expert David Kessler in one of the many episodes.

Social media was recently a battleground when people were debating and musing on the words of comedian and performer Munawar Faruqui who decided to quit comedy. β€œGoodbye, I'm done", he wrote after more than twelve of his shows got cancelled in a span of two months. After Bengaluru Police wrote to the organisers of the show to cancel it, he took to his social media account and exclaimed "Nafrat jeet gayi, artist haar gaya (hate has won, artist has lost). I'm done, goodbye. Injustice."

After a lot of support and trolling pouring in for him, his latest social media post on Instagram suggests that the guy is tougher than the hate that came his way and he allowed the love of his fans to win him over. He posted a picture that reads β€œentertainment aata rahega” and that's enough for his friends, fans and supporters that he’s probably not quitting the comedy world.

The image reads β€œKuch rasta likh dega, kuch main likh dunga, Woh likhte jaaye mushkil, Main manzil likh dunga", and isn’t that one great line to keep going? The comments on his post are all about support and love, thankfully.

Earlier last week, Munawar had received a lot of love from celebrities and his supporters who expressed solidarity and probably all that positivity finally seeped in. while no confirmations have been announced from his side, here’s hoping that he continues working for people who enjoy his work.

Indians across the globe woke up proud and happy after one of us took over as the Twitter CEO. Parag Agrawal, 37 years old and an IIT-Bombay graduate replaced Jack Dorsey as the new Twitter chief executive officer. He was previously working as the CTO so one must remember that money was great. However, as per various reports, ParagΒ  will receive an annual salary of around $1 million-plus bonuses, the company mentioned in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

As far as stock options are concerned, Parag Agrawal will also be entitled to receive restricted stock units valued at $12.5 million, along with performance-based restricted stock units in April 2022. Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey had earlier denied all compensation and benefits since 2015 and was drawing a salary of $1.40 since 2018 because it was supposed to be a testament to "his commitment to and belief in Twitter’s long-term value creation potential".

With this new role, Parag joins the rank of other notable Indians lik Β like Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichai, IBM's Arvind Krishna, and Adobe's Shantanu Narayen,Β  who are already leading big tech giants. Well, what can we say? This is one type of global domination we love!

The day starts with an alarm blaring at your bedside table and you struggling to even open your eyes, let alone get out of bed. Somehow, you drag yourself to freshen up, get ready and start with your day that feels more like a punishment than anything else. There was a time when you would love to kickstart your day with a hot cup of coffee, but now you haven’t left your home yet but you feel tired already.Β

Work doesn’t feel fulfilling, conversations don’t seem interesting and no amount of sleeping in helps you with feeling tired and exhausted.Β

If you too are living a similar version of a life, barely being able to pull yourself through the day, then chances are that you’re suffering from a burnout. An abbreviation of chronic stress that leads to intense physical and mental exhaustion, several people have been experiencing a burnout lately, especially post covid.Β
Here are 3 ways to recover from such a burnout and feel like yourself again.
    1) Identify Your Stressors

One of the most crucial steps in order to recover from a burnout is to be able to recognise and pinpoint the stressors in your life that are leading you to this mental and physical exhaustion. Identifying such stress triggers will help you not just to navigate your way through life without added anxiety but will also help you transition into a better state of mind.
Once you’ve found such triggers, make an active effort to steer clear of them in order to improve your mental health.
    2) Journal Your Feelings

A rather underrated but effective method to deal with a burnout is to develop a habit of journaling. Journal writing includes writing down about your day, your feelings and simply finding an outlet for your deepest thoughts, which makes it an excellent emotional decompressor. Of course, habit forming may take time, but it is a good way to recover from mental exhaustion and even finding a connection with yourself.
    3) Build A Support Network

Most of the time, we may be suffering from a burnout but we don’t even recognise it. And in those weak and dull moments, if we further alienate ourselves from our family and friends, it makes matters worse. Therefore, a good way to get through such a burnout without losing touch to yourself is by surrounding yourself with people you can trust and lean on.
Whether you’re reaching out to your family members, friends and colleagues or a professional therapist, it is advised to not try to handle it alone. After all, sometimes just knowing that you have someone to fall back upon is a healer in itself.Β
