Right before Priyanka’s wedding bells announcement rang for the world, there was a controversy stirring up back home after she quit Bharat movie to leave for the US. Salman Khan was upset with this sudden plan and he never hid the fact in the public eye. The film would have been a second collaboration for the two actors after Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. Post Priyanka’s exit, Katrina Kaif was signed up to replace her as the female lead.

The film would have marked the second collaboration between the two stars after Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. At one of the promotional events for the movie, Salman Khan made some comments in passing about PC walking out of the project.
“She [Priyanka Chopra], over Bharat, did choose the USA in the ‘nick’ of time. She has worked so hard all her life, okay? And when she got the biggest film of her life, she dumped that film and got married. You know hats off! Usually, people leave their husbands for a film like this”, he said.
At another event , during an interview, when Katrina was talking about her role in Bharat, she was interrupted by Bhai, who said “Thank you, Priyanka Chopra.”

At another press conference, when Katrina was asked about her preparations for the role, Salman answered for her and quipped, “Priyanka didn’t give us enough time to prepare. Sweet of her to tell us five days before the shoot that she couldn’t do Bharat”.

While speaking to Rajeev Masand during her interview, Katrina Kaif kind of defended Salman Khan and explained, “You have to take everything that Salman says with a big bucket of salt. I think we all know that by now. He just says it for effect, he does not mean it. Sometimes, in interviews, I am biting my tongue like 5 times in a day, but it’s all in good fun. I don’t take it seriously.”

The media and fans clearly observed a pattern and some people trolled Katrina for siding with the actor and taking this as a joke. Even the director of the film, Ali Abbas Zafar also had to dodge the bullet and calm down the grazing eyeballs over the star’s comments and said “No, no, not at all. Priyanka Chopra is a very close friend of mine. We have talked about it, we have had a laugh about it. And I personally think you know, if anyone knows SK (Salman Khan), this is his tongue-in-cheek humour. What he is doing to Priyanka that happens to me on set everyday”.

Sooryavanshi has really opened up with a bang in theatres and already crossed the 100 Crore mark within a week of its release.

Not only that, the Akshay Kumar starrer has succeeded in creating a universe of Supercops that involve other and older big names like Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, who actually kickstarted the series with Singham.
    © Reliance Entertainment
Now, director Rohit Shetty, who is known to be put his heart and soul into making movies with insane action sequences, has revealed exactly the plan behind the movie series.

Rohit, who also has the Golmaal movie franchise under his name, has sort of mentioned the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the same breath as the cop universes of Sooryavanshi, Singham, and Simmba.

    © Marvel Studios
Speaking about his vision for the cop universe, Rohit said that he and his team took the decision to start the universe with Ranveer Singh's Simmba, as they thought the younger audience had a better understanding of it because of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“We decided to make a cop universe during Simmba. The younger generation has started understanding this concept due to the Marvel Universe. So we took the risk and went ahead with it. And now, people have accepted this as a universe too.” Rohit said.
The director also mentioned how he wanted Akshay's Sooryavanshi to be a different kind of cop film to Singham and Simmba.
“I didn’t want Sooryavanshi to look like Singham or Simmba. When people give you so much love, you can’t cheat them by making the same thing. We have to expand. The scale of Sooryavanshi is equivalent to all three cop universe films that we have made,” he exults and adds.
Rohit is also happy at the fact that Sooryavanshi has been successful in reviving the state of cinema halls that were hit hard by the pandemic.
“Obviously, it was challenging and a big risk but I had to take the risk and had to fight. Today, we are sitting with all the happiness and success,” he said.

Every now and then our politicians will make a statement that will leave us scratching our heads, perplexed, and react in a manner that can be best described as this -

    © Reliance BIG Pictures
From Piyush Goyal’s Einstein and Gravity remark to a whole bunch of other such statements by different politicians, our leaders have often provided us with Grade A, meme worthy moments that have literally broken the internet, a thousand times over.

    © BCCL
Well, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s latest statements at an election event in Lucknow gave us yet another instance when a political leader jumbled up their words, and gave us something really hilarious.

    © CMO Uttar Pradesh
While addressing a gathering of political workers and volunteers, CM Adityanath started speaking on how history has been distorted, and went on to say, “How is history distorted! History didn't call Chandragupta Maurya great, whom did it call great? The one who lost from him. They call Alexander the great. The nation has been cheated.”

Because, if the truth comes out before Indians, the society will stand up once again. When society stands up, the nation stands up too. PM Modi is making this nation stand up today. When we talk of 'ek Bharat, shreshth Bharat', these issues are spoken on: UP CM Yogi Adityanath pic.twitter.com/5pC3Uja4DN
    — ANI UP (@ANINewsUP) November 14, 2021
Now, there’s a fair chance that he meant Porus, the king who actually fought and was said to have lost to Alexander of Babylon. However, the fact that he went for Chandragupta Maurya, instead of Porus, was meme-worthy.
    © BCCL
Avid followers of History will know that Alexander died in 323 BC, and that Chandragupta Maurya fought and won against a Greek general in 303 BC, almost 20 years after Alexander had died. In fact, when Alexander invaded India in 327 BC, the great Chandragupta Maurya, was still a toddler, and would be crowned as a king 3 years after the invasion.

Well, people took to Twitter soon enough and jumped on the moment to have a laugh at the minister’s expense.

Well, being worldly famous and having so much money, one thing Leo knows best is how to throw a proper birthday party.

And that's what he did at his 47th birthday bash where he invited everyone from Hollywood and the rest of the glamourous industries.
Here's who all attended the star-studded birthday party at his Beverly Hills mansion.
    1. Jeff Bezos © Twitter
Billionaire Jeff Bezos seems to have become a close friend of Leo, having been spotted with him at other parties, especially the one where his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez could not get her eyes off Leo.

It looks like ever since retiring as head of Amazon, Jeff is really spending a lot of time partying.
    2. Snoop Dogg © Instagram/Snoop Dogg
The American rapper was one of the renowned personalities from the music industry who was present at Leo's birthday party.

Snoop actually gave a sneak peek into the birthday party of Leo, who usually keeps a private life. The rapper could be seen clicking a picture with the birthday boy.

Batman! Yes. Leo wanted to throw a birthday party alright! And he decided to even invite the new Batman, Robert Pattinson.

Pattinson, who is playing the role of the caped crusader in the Matt Reeves film Batman, attended Leo's birthday with his girlfriend Suki Waterhouse.
    4. Lebron James © Reuters
And there were sports stars and not just any but the grandest of them all. Lebron James! Looking at what Leo likes splashing on things, we're pretty sure Leo has a massive mansion with a basketball court as well.

What better way to celebrate a birthday than to get drunk and play basketball with the world's best basketball player.
    5. Beyonce & Jay-Z © Reuters
The super couple of Beyonce and Jay-Z too attended Leo's birthday party.

This is not the first time that the trio has been in parties together having attended Rihanna's Diamond Ball.
We really would love to know what kind of crazy things they actually did during the massive event, and hopefully, we'll get more deets soon.
On the work front, Leo will now be seen in Netflix’s Don’t Look Up which will also feature Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and Ariana Grande.
He is also in line to play American cult leader Jim Jones in an upcoming MGM film.

After a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign, a lot has changed for the Men In Blue. As announced ahead of the multi-nation tournament, Virat Kohli has given up T20 captaincy, Rohit Sharma has taken his place and batting legend Rahul Dravid has replaced Ravi Shastri as the new head coach.
But there is one thing that hasn’t changed, the continued ignorance of domestic talents who perform year after year to stake a claim in India’s red-ball squad.
Ranji season 2018/19 scored 854 and 2019/2020 scored 809 and also Ranji champion that year plus this year current formyet not getting picked even for India A team.can selector tell him what else he need to do to ply for india apart from scoring runs #shame @ShelJackson27 pic.twitter.com/HcwQDwhGsZ
    — Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) November 9, 2021
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently announced the T20 and Test squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand and many fans and experts felt that the selectors didn’t consider players’ Ranji Trophy performance, which is India’s premier first-class tournament, while picking the squad for the home series in the new World Test Championship cycle.
After being on the road for the last six months, a lot of senior players like Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant have been handed the much-needed break.
    View this post on Instagram
Many expected it would open up a chance for the players like Jaydev Unadkat and Rahul Dalal who led the bowling and batting charts respectively in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy to be rewarded for a terrific domestic season but it wasn’t the case.
    View this post on Instagram
More than first-class cricket, the national selection panel led by former fast bowler Chetan Sharma gave more impetus to players’ IPL heroics and it reflected in the choices they made. Wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat, who impressed for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the second half of the IPL was picked in the 16-member squad.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s is no doubt that IPL being the biggest T20 league in the world has played a major role in the growth and development of our raw talents by providing them with a chance to rub shoulders with some the world’s greatest cricketers by sharing the same dressing room and pick on their brains.

One good performance and you become an overnight star. Ask Rahul Tewatia who became a household name after dispatching Sheldon Cottrell for five consecutive sixes and winning the match from the jaws of defeat in last year’s IPL at Sharjah.
The selectors picking IPL heroes in India's limited-overs makes sense, but it’s hard to understand why they keep ignoring the domestic performances while announcing the Test team.
Another top player not getting his dues @mandeeps12 forget team India not even in India A.selectors need to see some domestic matches records or else what’s th point having Ranji seasons.check his stats last domestic season played.due to corona no cricket in 20/21 #shocking pic.twitter.com/UotDWxux11
    — Harbhajan Turbanator (@harbhajan_singh) November 9, 2021
The Ranji Trophy didn’t take place last year due to the coronavirus pandemic but if we look at the last two seasons, the players who piled runs match after match and picked heaps of wickets didn’t get the reward they deserved. Instead, batters who shot to fame after playing a couple of good knocks or bowlers who delivered a couple of good spells are the first ones to get a national call-up.
While we know almost every single player who plays in the IPL, how many of us are aware of Sikkim’s Milind Kumar who amassed 1,331 runs in just 14 innings in the 2018-19 season or Rahul Dalal of Arunachal Pradesh who scored 1,340 runs in the following season.
    View this post on Instagram
Bihar’s Ashutosh Aman clinched 68 wickets in just eight matches but his hard work went unnoticed and the same fate was reserved for Jaydev Unadkat who not only picked up 67 wickets but also guided Saurashtra to their maiden Ranji Trophy last year.
We blame our young cricketers for giving IPL more importance than Ranji Trophy and other dometic tournaments. But is it really their fault?
Just imagine you are a budding cricketer and you see such discrimination happening right in front of your eyes, what would you do?
    View this post on Instagram
Wouldn’t you also choose IPL over domestic cricket? Why would you want to toil hard in four-day cricket for the fraction of money knowing that you can make a lot more by playing only two months of franchise cricket?
More importantly, if we were them even we would choose IPL not only because of money but also because it was the fastest way of realising your dream of entering the Indian dressing room.
    View this post on Instagram
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) medium pacer Deepak Chahar came to terms with this harsh truth a few years back and guess where he is now. He realised that even if he played and did well in Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments, it wouldn't get him close to achieving his dream of playing for India whereas if he performed in the IPL, it would help him realise his dream much faster and looking at how things panned out, he wasn’t wrong.
“When I changed my action to gain speed, I struggled with my state team. Now suddenly, I found that my road towards entering the Indian team to be very difficult. If I had to take the Ranji route, then I would have had to play more matches, play a whole first-class season, play Duleep Trophy. That's a longer road,” Chahar had said, after playing his second ODI against the West Indies in December 2019.
“But if you do well in IPL, then you can quickly play for India and during that phase of my career, I decided to concentrate on white ball cricket,” he added.
    View this post on Instagram
It is a worrying trend that the players are choosing IPL over Ranji Trophy and if the selectors keep on neglecting the domestic performances like they are doing now, it can have catastrophic effects in the long run.

Remember your very first day at school? Well, most of us were harrowed by the idea of going to school for the first time and would therefore cry our eyes out, just to get our parents to spare us the torture of the unknown. Although it is a monumental moment for most of us, as children, we don’t have the ability to really comprehend that.

    © iStock
Some parents, though, will go the extra mile to ensure that their children do not fear going to school for the very first time. Parents of a 4-year-old boy in New Delhi hired a brass band to play their tunes for their son’s first day of school.

    © iStock
Not only that, they had a mini procession up to the school and even danced with the kid, as a group of parents and guardians who were dropping off their wards, looked on.

#Delhi is so extra. This family brought a band to send off their child on his first day of school.

In a video that has now gone viral on Twitter, a 4 year old boy can be seen dancing along with his parents and grandparents, along with a small brass band, in front of Springdales School in Dhaula Kuan. If you look closely, it also seems that the parents had hired a photographer as well to document this moment.
Sure it does seem a bit excessive, but is it really? For some Twitter users, it was actually a bit endearing, whereas others were reminded of their first day to school.
Either way, the reaction that the video got was simply hilarious.
What a mahaul! But, I couldn't help notice the child was cheerful. What if schools did something creative like this on Day 1 for toddlers setting foot in a school for the first time? That kind of celebration would put them at ease. Day 2 and beyond? That's another story, though.

Cricket fans from all over the world, including former Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir, are looking forward to the T20 World Cup 2021 final between New Zealand and Australia at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
However, while most people do not get much attention about the team they pick to win a match, or in this case, the World Cup trophy, Gambhir’s predictions have made a special place in the hearts and minds of the fans of international cricket across the globe.
Don't lose hope Viratians. We should counter attack this panauti from Gambhir by worshipping God for our King Kohli before the start of the match.
    — #We want aggressive Kohli back (@crickohli18) December 3, 2020
For the world cup final between Aaron Finch and Kane Williamson’s boys, the southpaw has finally revealed the team that he thinks will win it all and as a result, the Indian social media is flooded with messages of apology and regret for them.
Gambhir feels that it would be the Black Caps who will get the upper hand over their neighbouring rivals. "I want New Zealand to win the T20 World Cup as I like their brand of cricket," he told the Times of India.
Here’s how the fans have shared tweets sympathising with the Kiwis after Gambhir’s predictions came out:
2 min silence for New Zealand fans
    — follow back .. (@vipul0769) November 14, 2021Congratulations Australia on winning the T20 WC 2021. Gifts should be delivered to Gautam Gambhir's house.

    — Kavi Raina (@KaviRaina1) November 14, 2021Australia win the match
    — King kohli (@VIRATFANK) November 14, 2021But why do people don’t like Gautam Gambhir’s predictions?
Simply because whenever Gambhir praises or backs up a player or a team ahead of a match, they seem to not do so well and end up with a bad performance on the ground.
It has been a below-the-radar running gag with the Indian cricket fans who continue to make hilarious requests to the southpaw about not choosing any Indian cricketers in his fantasy cricket team and ask him to praise the best performing player in the opposing side as much as he can so that in the next match they end up choking.
Dear sir please don't make any fantasy teams for upcoming aus vs Ind series...if u want to make then put the aus player's as cap but please don't don't put any Indian player as captain in your fantasy team....
    — Aneel nani (@NaniAneelkumar) November 10, 2020 once again proved @GautamGambhir is wrong pic.twitter.com/Kg0DASxnMZ
    — Pkranthi (@Kranthi87034815) November 10, 2020One of the greatest instances of such an occurrence was when Gambhir had selected Delhi Capitals’ Marcus Stoinis to be the captain of his fantasy team for the IPL 2020 final.
The Australian, who’d had a phenomenal IPL season in 2020 ended up getting out on a golden duck on the batting end of the team and also turned out to be the most expensive bowler for Delhi in the final against Mumbai Indians.
