    It seems that whenever Kangana Ranaut gets called outย for something she said or did, she just canโ€™t help but dig herself into a deeper hole. It shouldnโ€™t come as a surprise that she did something similar, again.

    Recently, Kangana Ranaut made some rather disturbing claims, saying that India attained freedom, not in 1947, but only in 2014, and that up until then, all of us were basically slaves. She also went on to say something along the lines of that the freedom we got in 1947 was given to us as alms.

    Obviously, this did not go well with a lot of people, and she was brutally trolled for her statements. In fact, several prominent political leaders and ministers condemned her words, and demanded that she should be stripped of the Padma Shri that she was recently awarded.

    Basically, what she says is that there was a battle for freedom in 1857, but there werenโ€™t any wars or battles for freedom in 1947. She also goes on to say that it was becoming increasingly difficult for the British to sustain themselves in India, and were weak during 1947, because of World War II.

    She further goes on to say that it was the Congress which received independence from the British in a โ€œbegging bowl,โ€ whereas the right wing (her words, not ours) were ready to fight them and take it. And oh, by the way, that begging bit she mentioned in her interview? It did not pertain to all freedom fighters, but to a select few.ย

    Also, isnโ€™t it convenient that sometimes, diplomacy and working within a framework, becomes begging, and how sometimes begging, especially for forgiveness and oneโ€™s jail sentence to be reduced, becomes diplomacy, and โ€œcarefully thought out tacticsโ€?

    Keeping aside the historical fallacies and false narratives that she is spewing on her platform especially about Mahatma Gandhi, she did find a way to blame Jawaharlal Nehru for the words she chose, while not failing to remind everyone that she did play the character of a freedom fighter.

    Besides, even if she is proven wrong at a public forum, she is not going to give her award back up. That would make her a part of the Award Wapsi gang, wouldnโ€™t it?

    The former Indian head coach, Ravi Shastri has to be one of the calmest and cool-headed people in the world, especially being able to take so much unnecessary hate and criticism from the Indian cricket fans for almost a decade.
    Unfortunately, throughout his tenure as the head coach of the Men in Blue, a major talking point on social media that didnโ€™t seem to disappear, was memers and trolls photoshopping his pictures with beer bottles and cocktail drinks in his hands and all around him.

    Such a trend occurred after the former Indian cricketer shared a couple of pictures of him enjoying certain alcoholic beverages while on vacation and of course that one video in which he gets out of the Indian team bus while chugging on a beer.
    Now that Shastri is no more responsible for the Indian squad and has a lot more leeway in talking about his lifeย and other experiences, heโ€™s finally decided to let loose and talk about such issues rather openly.
    In a conversation with India Today, Shastri addressed the online trolls to make fun of him with the beer memes and hereโ€™s what he wants to do with them:
    "I quite enjoyed some of them (memes). That's talent also. When they suddenly make me have a paunch, then it disappears the next day,โ€ Shastri said. โ€œThere are bottles everywhere, it is a laugh at my expense. So at least in tough times you kept people in good humour. I would like to invite some of them for a drink," he told journalist and news anchor Rajdeep Sardesai.

    However, this isnโ€™t the first time that Shastri has addressed how people, sometimes even known figures, end up taking cheeky and sly digs at him.ย 

    For instance, earlier this year, famed author and columnist, Shobha De had shared a tweet joking about Shastriโ€™s unwillingness to stay in a dry state for five days after Indiaโ€™s third Test match against England at Ahmedabad, which ended on Day 3 of 5 in the favour of the hosts.

    While criticising the man for the mistakes that he made was inevitable on social media, the so-called โ€œfansโ€ crossed the line when they began to make personal comments and started attacking Aliโ€™s wife Samiya Arzoo and their baby girl.

    Now that the situation has gotten way out of control, a Twitter user (@samiyaarzoo) claiming to be Aliโ€™s wife decided to use the social media platform to make a public request to the Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to somehow stop their cricket fans from making such comments.

    Asking his Prime Minister for support and protection for the safety of her daughter, who was threatened to be โ€œharmedโ€ by the Pakistani locals, the user further said that she will be moving back to her parentโ€™s home in Haryana, India if she wasnโ€™t assured the support of the โ€œhigher authorityโ€.

    Although the tweets have gone viral within the span of half a day, most Pakistani cricket followers on the micro-blogging site have reported the account and have said that it was created by a fake user in order to create hate and disruption among the people of the country.
