The internet has been buzzing with excitement ever since YRF’s social media handles revealed two stills from Bunty Aur Babli 2. With Rani Mukerji stepping back into her classic role as the mischievous Babli, and Saif Ali Khan taking on Bunty’s mantle, anticipation levels are soaring through the roof!

In one of the stills shared by YRF’s social media handles, Saif and Rani seem to be relishing their chemistry together. It’s been 12 years since we last saw the charismatic pair together in a film, so pardon us if we’re reliving memories of ‘Hum Tum’, while we await BAB2’s release. The duo’s rapport is a matter of legend, and irrespective of the time that has passed, both Saif and Rani seem to be equally at ease next to each other.

    — Queen Bee (@chi_chabell) October 22, 2021 In the sequel, Vimmy aka Babli (Rani Mukerji) is a retired con-artist turned fashion queen of Fursatgunj. Among the fans, many seem to be excited about Rani Mukerji reprising her role. And for good reason, as there are very few actors who possess the emotive range and comedic timing that Rani possesses, her eyebrows have more expressions than most contemporary actors have throughout their careers. At least that’s what the fans think.
Ah! I missed this Rani onscreen. Look at her expression. So so happy she's doing comedy role after so long

Do you remember the sheer impact Bunty Aur Babli had on the fashion world when it was released in 2005? The streets were flooded with girls recreating Rani’s looks. In fact, her current co-star Sharvari who may have been 9 years old when the movie was released left a comment stating that she’s going to share a screenshot of Babli’s outfit to show her tailor, yet again!

The response to Saif Ali Khan playing Bunty has been received positively as well. The Pataudi Prince has established himself as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors. For his role as the titular maverick, Saif seems to have put on a few pounds. And people have been quick to draw comparisons with another talented actor: Pankaj Tripathi. At first, the suggestion seemed a bit outlandish, but the more you stare at the picture, the clearer the resemblance.

The movie also features Gully Boy star Siddhant Chaturvedi, along with Sharvari Wagh, who are also supposed to be… Bunty And Babli?

Maybe they’re fans who looked up to the original Bunty & Babli and want to adopt the moniker? Or perhaps they’re handpicked by the elder Bunty & Babli for a big heist!
With everything said and done, Bunty Aur Babli 2 promises to be a blockbuster hit.
What do you think? Are you excited about the release of Bunty Aur Babli 2?
