    It’s a difficult time to be a star kid, or at least that’s what it seems like going by the investigations being carried out by the NCB. 
    What had started off as an alleged drug bust with Aryan Khan in the eye of the storm has now expanded its reach to bring in other popular names in the industry as well. 
    Bollywood starlet Ananya Panday was reportedly lambasted by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede for turning up late when summoned by the agency.

    Ananya had been called in by the NCB for questioning as they look to build a case against Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan regarding his alleged role in the Drug Cruise case. The Student Of The Year 2 actress was expected to appear at 11 am, however it seems that she may have been late for that appointment. 

    The NCB had asked Ananya Panday to present herself for the second round of investigations on Friday, but the actress managed to reach only by 2 pm.
    It has been reported that NCB zonal director, Sameer Wankhede, may have come down hard on the young actress due to her laxness. A leading national daily reported that the man-in-charge reprimanded Ananya reminding her that the NCB was not “a production house” but an “office of central agency”.

    It seems like Ananya’s ordeal isn’t anywhere close to being over yet, as she has to present herself before the NCB for a third round of questioning on Monday, October 25. The further probing comes as a result of the NCB official’s inability to find valid evidence to substantiate their tall claims on an international drug syndicate being involved in this case.  

    Ashok Mutha Jain, NCB Deputy Director General (DDG) told the media, "She has been called again on Monday morning for questioning. The further procedure will take place." 
    Furthermore, when asked if there had been further developments in the case regarding the numbers of drug suppliers used by Aryan Khan, the NCB DDG replied, "I have no such info as of now." 
    Ananya had been summoned by the NCB on Thursday for scrutiny, however, the actress denied allegations of supplying and consuming drugs.

    Ever since the news of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s addition to the Indian support staff as the team mentor caught national attention, the fans have been raving about every single picture that they get their hands on, in which Dhoni can be seen getting involved with the Men in Blue.
    However, former Indian skipper and commentator, Sunil Gavaskar has decided to water down all the hype around Mahi’s new role and suggested that there is only a handful of things that a mentor can do.

    "Mentor can't do much,” Gavaskar said during the Salaam Cricket show. "Yes, he can help you prepare in change room as it's a fast-paced game and if needed, help you tweak the tactic. Maybe speak to batters and bowlers during the time-out, so the move to employ Dhoni is a good one but Dhoni will be in the change room, and it's the players who have to perform the actual task in the middle. How they handle pressure would determine what the result will be."
    Dhoni, who decided to lend his expertise to the team for absolutely no financial returns, has been seen as being quite active and enthusiastic about his new job as a member of the coaching department under Ravi Shastri’s administration.

    From discussing match tactics with the senior teams to doing wicket-keeping drills with Rishabh Pant and even participating as a throwdown bowler for his batters in the nets, ‘Captain Cool’ and his involvement in India’s World Cup journey has already impressed a lot of fans.
    BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly was also asked about the thought process that went behind creating a special job for Dhoni for the world cup and he said that BCCI Secretary and he had been talking about it for a really long time. They wanted to unit Dhoni’s experience with the young athletes’ fierceness.

    “What’s the harm in trying. Something good only will come out of this. Let’s see,” Ganguly said.
    He also reassured the fact that everybody, including Head Coach Ravi Shastri and captain Virat Kohli, were all consulted and taken approval from, before the final decision was made to bring Dhoni aboard, just to avoid jurisdictional conflict in the dressing room.

    BCCI President Sourav Ganguly recently dropped a major update about the rumours of former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid being selected as the next head coach of the Indian cricket team and it certainly adds a sense of vagueness around all the reports that have been published in the last few days.
    “There’s no confirmation, I only read it in the newspapers. There is due process. It has been advertised. If he wants to apply, then he will," Ganguly said on the ‘Salaam Cricket’ show of Aaj Tak suggesting that he has no idea how or why did the reports of Dravid becoming the next head coach emerged.

    “Right now, he is the director of NCA. He came to meet us in Dubai to talk about NCA. How to take it forward. We all believe the NCA has a big role in developing the future of Indian cricket. NCA creates the next generation of Indian cricketers. So, he wanted to discuss that," Ganguly added.
    Before Ganguly’s revelation, it was reported that Dravid had said yes to replace Ravi Shastri following the end of Team India’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign and that his first assignment as the coach would be to take on a touring New Zealand squad on home turf in the second half of November.

    It was also reported that Dravid’s trusted lieutenant, Paras Mhambrey was also being appointed as the next bowling coach for the Men in Blue, while Vikram Rathour and R Sridar were to continue as the batting and fielding coaches, respectively.
    In the second week of October, mere days before the said reports were published, the BCCI had announced that the had tried to persuade Dravid into taking the job but he had politely declined the offer as he wanted to focus more on developing the youth of Indian cricket as the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
