    The dramatic proceedings in the case of the cruise ship rave party in which Aryan Khan was involved, have left social media abuzz with people scouring the internet for more information on the case.

    Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s 23-year-old son, Arbaz Seth Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were sent to one-day NCB custody in alleged connection with the seizure of banned drugs onboard a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.

    In his defence, Aryan has hired leading celebrity criminal lawyer Mr Satish Maneshinde to fight his case at the court of law.

    Currently touted to be one of India’s ‘expensive’ lawyers, Satish Maneshinde has previously fought some high-profile cases and proved his mettle in the law and justice system.
    Here are 5 major things you must know about the lawyer who has been roped in by Aryan Khan to prove his innocence in the eyes of the law:

    Satish Maneshinde is reportedly a native of Dharwad, who came to Mumbai as a Law graduate fresher. While trying to look for a job way back in 1983, Maneshinde found himself working as a junior lawyer under celebrated criminal lawyer, the late Ram Jethmalani. 

    During the 10 years working as an apprentice to Jethmalani, Maneshinde practised civil and criminal law and handled cases of politicians, actors and other celebrities.

    Today, a known criminal lawyer himself, Maneshinde is a rather popular name in the Bollywood celebrity circle. It is reported that Maneshinde was Sanjay Dutt’s defence lawyer in the 1993 Mumbai Blasts case and got him bail. 

    He is also said to have been a part of the legal team that defended Sanjay Dutt when he was charged for possessing illegal weapons and violating the Arms Act in 2007.

    Not just Sanjay Dutt, Maneshinde seems to have made a trusted client out of Salman Khan too. Allegedly, it was Maneshinde who had gotten Sallu Bhai bail during the drunk-driving case, where a person was killed.

    Some reports have also claimed that Maneshinde also represented Khan in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case.

    Being a leading advocate in Mumbai and a trusted celebrity counsel, Maneshinde is said to charge a heavy fee from his clients. 

    According to a Bollywood Life report, Mandeshinde charges Rs 10 lakh a day for representations. Well, that’s a lot! But given that he mostly deals with high-class clients, his fee might not be a problem for most.

    Apart from being appointed as the special public prosecutor in the Palghar lynching case, Maneshinde is known to have handled many high-profile cases. 

    His cases include the controversial Mumbai Police inspector Daya Nayak’s disproportionate assets case, bookie Shoban Mehta’s match-fixing case, Chhota Rajan’s wife Sujata Nikalje’s infamous organised crime case as well as representing Rakhi Sawant in an abetment to suicide case.
