Even if you’ve been living under a rock, chances are that you have heard so much about Squid Game that you’ve managed to come across some meme, video or an article around this popular K-drama, which has basically taken the world by storm.

    © Netflix
The South Korean Netflix show has created history for being on top in over 90 countries and breaking viewing records.

The show follows an innocuous tale of hundreds of adults locked together to participate in a game that looks innocent at the face value, but is basically a suicide mission in disguise once you start playing. All of this is done to win a grand prize money and all participants have one thing in common- they are on a run from piles of debt and emotional hang-ups due to lack of money.

Now, since way too many people have watched it and analysed the show, a certain section of the Indian audience has managed to draw a unique inference and have already started arguing that Squid Game is basically a copy of Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan starrer Hindi movie Luck.
The uncanny similarity in the plot line has basically convinced the Indian audience that the K-drama is just a ‘high end’ version of the Bollywood thriller.

    — BrokenButBeautiful3 (@EDHA_INFINITE) October 1, 2021#SquidGame , a mafia leader, gives a bunch of people an opportunity to turn their luck around and earn a hefty amount. They are required to deadly play games while people bet on game #SquidGame Sounds similar? Its #Bollywood movie #luck released in 2009
    — Tanya sharma (@TanyaSharma_94) September 30, 2021Ok does #SquidGames remind anyone else of that Sanjay Dutt, Shruti Haasan film LUCK?! It’s like the TV show form of the movie! #SquidGame #HellWeek #Bollywood #BigBrother #sanjaydutt #ImranKhan #ShrutiHaasan #BB23Finale #MyUniverseMVMidnight #Netflix
    — Tanisha G (@TwinMomTravels) September 30, 2021People saying squid game is a really unique show haven't watched Luck
    — Rishit (@x2Rish) September 30, 2021For the uninitiated, Luck was released in 2009 and the plot of the movie follows a mafia leader called Moussa( played by Sanjay Dutt) who allows people to turn around their ‘luck’ by participating in deadly, life-risking tasks for prize money after people bet on them.
Yeah, sounds similar and uncanny right?

Well, you cannot help but agree that this is a bizarre coincidence.
Meanwhile, the Korean psychological drama following the shallow lives of cash-starved humans is ranking up for many reasons.
Besides it being the right amount of adrenaline rush we need in life, it also forces you to face the dark reality of how low can humans go for survival. It’s a great binge-watch though, try it if you haven’t.

Bollywood is guilty of promoting sexism, casually slipping in rape jokes and normalising bad behaviour like harassment against women in some of its movies.
In fact, they disguise these problematic things as 'funny'. Thankfully, most of the audience is ‘woke’ enough now to take notice and slam such scenes.
    © Padmalaya Telefilms Ltd
However, crass and problematic jokes played on men in films still get away and are labelled as hilarious and harmless rather than hurtful.

The point is, there’s no need to touch on sensitive social topics to make people laugh. It only makes it worse and normalises things that happen to men too.
    © Vinod Chopra Films
Here are 4 such ‘funny’ scenes in movies we all laughed at without realising how problematic they were, probably because the butt of jokes, in this case, were men, and not women:

    1. The Ragging Scene In ‘3 Idiots’ © Vinod Chopra Films
Ragging is a serious offence and many students commit suicide, drop out and suffer trauma because of being harassed as freshers by their seniors.

Thus, the scene where a bunch of first-year college students are stripped and forced to dance in 3 Idiots was not funny by a mile. In fact, it was extremely problematic and triggering.
    2. Gay Jokes & Homophobia In ‘Dostana’  © Dharma Productions
The whole movie was based on straight people posing as gay and making fun of the whole LGBT community in the process.

From the offensive imitation of how they walk and talk to homophobic jokes, the movie left no stone unturned to piss off the LGBTQ community.
The scene where Priyanka asks both men to kiss in order to earn her forgiveness passed off as funny is categorically problematic.
    3. Male Molestation In ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ © Dharma Productions
Rape is not something to laugh about, no matter what gender. Male rape is as real and devastating and shouldn’t be gift-wrapped as a comic scene.

In Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Varun Dhawan is abducted and molested on the streets of Singapore and when he’s rescued, his friends burst into laughter seeing his state (torn clothes, obviously).
Since it’s a movie of recent times, people called out the scene and thought it was unnecessary and offensive.
    4. Anmol Being Abused By His Wife In ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ © Base Industries Group
Again, whether it’s a wife being mistreated and abused by a husband or vice versa, it’s simply not okay. We have seen domestic violence against women shown as funny in films like Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya but there are films where men have been shown as victims too. Again, not funny.

In Awara Paagal Deewana, both men are treated as servants, abused by their wives and are not even allowed to leave the country since their passports are withheld by them.
Last I checked, that was illegal, not to mention plain torture. What’s funny about that?

Until today morning, when a quick Google search taught me a new word related to people vacationing at sea, or sailing in cruise liners for fun, I had no clue that ‘seacation’ is how millennials describe vacationing in the middle of the sea.

Right now, the news is abuzz with just one major happening in the country, i.e- the drug raid that recently exposed and busted some big names of the entertainment industry. Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood’s biggest star Shah Rukh Khan was one of the few people arrested and reportedly, found in possession of drugs like Charas and cocaine.

While the NCB is interrogating everyone involved and certain arrest warrants have been issued, another thing trending on social media is the buzz around the luxurious cruise which is the heart of this controversial situation.
The Cordelia Cruise is India’s premium cruise liner offering luxurious, exotic ‘seacations’ in the form of amenities and lots of entertaining programs as well.
The company website offers many cruises for different durations and different locations and even has a Navratri special cruise coming up.
The ship, where the drug raid happened, is the Empress Cruise ship and stands tall at 692 feet. It has a capacity to carry over 1,800 passengers and has over 11 decks with around 796 cabins.
If serenity is what you are looking for, find it aboard the Empress as you set sail for Lakshadweep. Gear up for 5 nights of splendour and adventure.

The onboard facilities boast amenities like a spa, salon, gymnasium, and shopping area. There is also a card room, a reading zone, and a recreational area for kids.
Every cruise liner has different entertainment and the cruise which had Aryan & his friends on board had facilities like outdoor theatre, burlesque performances, toga pool party, kayaking, Latin dance lessons, and wine tasting, with rock climbing and water sports as additional activities.

As far as accommodation is concerned, the ship has several categories of rooms which include The Chairman’s suite (which is the biggest and most expensive one), the Balcony stateroom, the Ocean View stateroom and the Interior stateroom.
The onboard dining options also boast of several restaurants and bars offering cuisines from all over the world.

The packages for all cruises are different, but on average, a 4 night/5 day package starts from Rs 77,000 and can go up to as high as the demand of the customer, in terms of choosing the room type etc.
So, maybe, if you're ever feeling fancy and wish to do a 'seacation', then probably it's time to start saving some serious money.

Punjab Kings’ hopes of making it to the knockout stage suffered a huge blow after they suffered yet another loss in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021), going down to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six runs in Sharjah.
This defeat hasn’t completely ruled KL Rahul’s side out of the playoffs race yet as they still have an outside chance of finishing in the top four, but this result has left their fate in someone else’s hands.

Just like the previous two seasons, the biggest problem for PBKS has been their overdependence on their opening combination of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, with a major chunk of their runs coming in from their openers.
Rahul has been one of the most consistent performers with the bat but his leadership qualities have lacked the cutting edge that is needed to succeed in the toughest T20 competition on the planet.
    View this post on Instagram
Among those who are not convinced by Rahul’s captaincy is former India cricketer  Ajay Jadeja, who believes that he is not a leadership material because he never takes the responsibility upon himself.
“If you look at KL Rahul, he’s been the captain of this team for the past two years, I never get the feeling that he's a leader,” Jadeja said on the Cricbuzz Live show.
“Whenever this team has gone through a good phase or a bad phase, we never look at him. The team that’s playing today, the changes that have been made, do you think KL Rahul would have made that?"
    © Twitter KL Rahul
According to Jadeja, one good thing about Rahul is that he has a cool and calm demeanour just like Chennai Super Kings MS Dhoni. However, unlike Dhoni he doesn’t like taking full responsibility on his shoulders and lets others, including the team management, dictate terms on matters like team selection.

“I don't know him personally and you see a different version of him too, but generally when he's on the ground, he has the calmness like MS Dhoni. There are good things too but the biggest thing is that you need to be a leader. People should be debating your decisions, 'Why is he doing this or that?'. That never happens to him, even in an IPL team, because he has not taken any responsibility upon himself, letting others run the team,” Jadeja opined.

Not just for PBK, but it’s a big cause of concern for Team India as well because many experts see him as the future leader of Team India.

PBKS have time and again failed to close down close matches which puts a big question mark on Rahul’s decision-making skills. Whatever we have seen of him, so far, only makes us doubt his leadership skills even more.
