    After releasing in theatres earlier this month, Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivii is now streaming on Netflix. Kangana is riding high on the success of her latest movie based on J Jayalalithaa. Thalaivii was well-appreciated by critics as they liked Kangana’s performance but it faced losses as multiplex chains like PVR Cinemas and INOX Leisure Ltd refused to screen the Hindi version of the film.

    As the movie has been received well by the audience, she took to Instagram stories and wrote, “Rarely a film loved passionately and unanimously… And Thalaivii is one such film… I am glad people [are] getting to know Purchai Thalaivi Dr. J. Jayalalithaa’s story. Also big thanks to my team for making a film which is a shining diamond in my filmography. #gratitude.”

    Starring Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran, Prakash Raj as M Karunanidhi, Jisshu Sengupta as Sobhan Babu, and Bhagyashree as Jayalalithaa’s mother Sandhya, the multi-lingual film is produced by Vishnu Vardhan and Shailesh R Singh.

    Kangana also attacked the Bollywood mafia that ignored her once again and urged the Hindi film industry to rise about petty issues. She wrote, “Meanwhile waiting for Bollywood Mafia to keep our political and ideological differences aside just how I don’t find it difficult to appreciate genuine art maybe they can also rise above petty human emotions and for once let art win #Thalaivii.”

    We wonder how the 'Bollywood mafia', that Kangana is referring to in her post, would react to her statements.

    For her role in the movie, Kangana had to gain 20kg and undergo major physical transformation several times. She took to Instagram to share her experience and said all these physical changes have left her with “permanent stretch marks."

    As per reports, the premise will follow the life of Allu Arjun who plays a sandalwood smuggler, and Rashmika will play the role of his wife. 
    The film is supposed to be based on real-life incidents about the red sandalwood smugglers in Andhra Pradesh's Rayalseema.

    The budget for Pushpa is estimated to be over Rs 250 crores and since the name states part 1, it is possible that the thriller is divided into two parts. 
    Fahasd Faasil will be seen as Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, an IPS officer. 
    Allu Arjun also needs no introduction as besides winning a plethora of awards, he is one of the highest-paid actors in the country.  He is also known to be a fabulous dancer. 
    The pairing of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna has been grabbing eyeballs and since the looks after receiving a lot of appreciation, the trailer will surely be a big hit with their respective fans.

    Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 last month and it seems like the smartphone may already be embroiled in controversy. According to a claim by Twitter user Chad Christian, his foldable phone started to catch fire and blow out smoke due to integrity damage. While this incident may be reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 7 debacle from a few years ago, this situation might be different as it wasn’t caused by a manufacturing defect.

    Christian took the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to the Samsung repair centre after he had dropped the smartphone from his bike. He was advised by Samsung to get it replaced with a new unit and was asked to mail in the damaged phone to the company to start the process. However, upon trying to pack the device for shipping, it started to emit smoke as if the battery had suffered some damage.

    The owner of the phone himself believes that the device started to act up due to physical damage, however there could be other reasons at play here. Last month, a Samsung Galaxy A21 also caught fire on an Alaska Airlines flight which resulted in the cabin crew initiating an emergency evacuation. The phone had emitted enough smoke and fire in the cabin that it was deemed unsafe after landing in Seattle. It is suspected that the battery on this particular smartphone was damaged which led to it bursting into flames.

    However, in respect to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the obvious reason why it started to smoke out was probably because of the damage caused to the battery from the fall. However, we will know more about the cause of the fire once Samsung runs its tests and find out what exactly happened here. There are no other reports of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 suffering from similar problems and this is probably an isolated incident as of now.

    From being an overweight kid to impressing fans with his latest weight loss transformation, Arjun Kapoor has come a long way and is an inspiration for people who have been finding excuses not to hit the gym. Arjun shared three stories, announcing that his abs were finally visible. In the first one, he can be seen wearing a printed black tee along with a pair of green shorts. In the caption, he stated, 'Biscuit aa gaye wapas chai lana zara.'

    In the second one, he removed his t-shirt and was comfortable showing off his abs. In the caption, he wrote, 'actually biscuits ka full packet ready hai ab bhai log...Toh party kare.’

    Arjun has undergone a remarkable physical transformation. Be it sweating it out at a gym for hours or taking care of his diet, he has been doing a lot to take proper care of his body.

    Arjun had earlier said in a statement, "I think everyone knows that I'm a constant work in progress when it comes to my fitness because I have dealt with obesity and how it affects the mind on a daily basis. I have to work harder than most people and push myself to do double the level of workout to achieve a certain body type that is required to play a Hindi film hero."

    Breakfast (10 AM)Arjun begins his day by having breakfast at 10 am that includes Egg Mush which has 290kcal energy, 22g protein, 12g fat, 25g carbohydrate, and 4.5g fiber.
    Workout (10:30 AM)He then heads out for intense cardio and weight training that includes skipping, weight lifting, planks, push-ups, and running on a treadmill.
    Lunch (1:30 PM)For lunch, he eats a Greek Souvlaki Wrap, which packs in 388kcal energy, 43g protein, 15g fat, 34g carbohydrates, and 12g fiber.
    Evening Snack (5 PM)After finishing his work meeting between 2 to 5 pm, he has his evening snack. For an evening snack, he eats a low-carb Turkey Sushi with 191kcal energy, 39g protein, 10g fat, 11g carbohydrate, 7g fiber.
    Workout (6 PM To 8 PM)He heads out for workout for the second time in the day at 6 PM and for the two-hour routine, he focuses on exercises like leg press and treadmill walk.
    Dinner (8 PM)For dinner, he eats Turkish Kebabs with Muhamarra Sauce, Mint Chutney, and Pickled Vegetables with 388 kcal energy, 22g protein, 10g fat, 3g carbohydrates, and 7g fiber.
    As the video ends, we notice that Arjun has burnt about 4,268 calories and consumed only 1,218 calories throughout the day. He has also walked about 15,393 steps. He winds up his day by 10 or 11 pm.

    Bollywood movies are known for their romance, drama and happy endings. So much so, that almost every movie that we begin to watch, ends up having almost the same, predictable plot that has been overused by Bollywood one too many times.

    But while that may be true for most movies, it certainly wasn’t the case with a select few that gave us plot twists we weren’t ready for. And we aren’t even talking about mystery thrillers here.

    We are talking about the romantic comedies where certain main characters got friendzoned pretty hard and didn’t see it coming from a mile away. But in their defence, neither did we. 
    Here are a few of the most unexpected friendzoned  characters from Bollywood movies:
    1. Rahul From 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' © UTV Motion Pictures
    The movie that revolved around the lives of two characters - Rahul (Imran Khan) and Riana (Kareena Kapoor), starts with the two getting married after one drunken night. 

    Of course, they regret it the next morning, but the movie has us rooting for them all throughout. Only to make us realise that while Rahul did fall for Riana, she didn’t and stood her ground to staying just good friends. 
    2. Akira From 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' © Yash Raj Films
    Yes, the movie established well within the first half that Samar (Shah Rukh Khan) and Meera (Katrina Kaif) were the OG pair, but from the moment Akira enters, so does the possibility of Samar finally picking Akira as the woman he wants to end up with. 

    Considering she didn’t abandon him for years solely for a superstition. However, all Akira gets for staying by Samar’s side and jolting his memory back is the title of a very good friend while he rides off into the sunset with Meera.
    3. Oleksander From 'Queen' © Viacom 18 Motion Pictures
    Having been stood up at her wedding, as Rani (Kangana Ranaut) decides to fly off to Paris to celebrate her honeymoon alone, she bumps into a few people she ends up befriending. 

    One of them being Oleksander, the Russian cutie who we were cheering on for till the end. 
    With the hope that Rani will see him for his kind heart and cute smile, their chemistry was brewing. However, neither Rani nor the movie explored that angle and Oleksander was left behind in the friendzone despite our romantic speculations. 
    4. Ayan From 'Ae Dil Hai Muskhil' © Dharma Productions
    Even though Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) makes it crystal clear to Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor) that she loves him just as a friend, the entire movie revolves around his unending and relentless efforts to convert her ‘no’ into a yes. 

    And so, after a while, we as the audience were also convinced that Ayan might perhaps climb out of the zone, but nope. Even being diagnosed with cancer didn’t change Alizeh’s mind and all Ayan was left as was her best friend. 
    5. Laurent From 'English Vinglish' © Hope Productions
    A movie about a middle-class woman, a homemaker who believed there was no particular time in life to earn her self-respect back in front of her family. 

    As Shashi takes secret English lessons, she befriends a fellow French classmate Laurent who fell for her. 
    And while the audience may have cheered him on, the movie dumped his character into the friendzone as Shashi stayed true to her family and her husband.

    Long before the ’90s romance wave in movies started riding high and the fresh ‘pehla nasha’ vibes seem to be the omnipresent flavour for all rebel love stories, one of the most iconic movies of all time, Bobby, had already carved that niche for this genre.

    This young, bubbly story of high school lovers turned rebels for their love was something that was way ahead of its time, and a fortunate experiment that worked wonders. 

    The movie is also known for giving Bollywood the mega-hit ‘jodi’ of late superstar Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. 

    Just like a movie plot, the real BTS scoop of how Rishi Kapoor landed this iconic movie was also nothing short of a serendipitous event. 
    As Bobby completed 48 years yesterday, an old anecdote related to the movie shared by him in his book resurfaced. 
    Turns out, his father Raj Kapoor had to find ways to incur the massive losses he was enduring after Mera Naam Joker and Kal, Aaj Aur Kal tanked badly commercially. The idea for Bobby was fresh and new and it was obvious that he wanted to cast Rajesh Khanna in the lead, who was already a leading star in those days.

    As a stroke of luck and his given financial circumstances, he could not afford to get Rajesh Khanna and decided to launch his own son instead.  

    “Bobby was a film made because Raj Kapoor had to be bailed out. He had this studio mortgage. Whatever money he earned all his life, was always invested in his films. It all kept rolling. It was never invested in any other kind of industrial zone…it was always his films. He was so passionate about his films”, Rishi Kapoor mentioned in an interview.

    Interestingly, even though Bobby catapulted Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia’s careers to new heights instantly, both their personal lives took a temporary dive. 

    Rishi Kapoor was dating a girl who broke up with him after rumours of his affair with co-star Dimple made headlines. Dimple’s relationship with Rajesh Khanna was also a topic of hot discussion back in those days. 
    Needless to say, Bobby turned and twisted the fates of everyone attached to it.

    Abhijeet Sawant was the first-ever winner of Indian Idol, one of the most-watched and beloved shows of Indian homes. 

    It has now reached the 12th season, and several talented singers have participated in the show. It has also changed the lives of many singers overnight. Abhijeet was also one of them.

    In an interview, he spoke about attaining fame and becoming an overnight sensation after the show. He also spoke about what he did with the money he received after winning the show, but was not satisfied on the creative front. 

    In a conversation with novelist Chetan Bhagat, Abhijeet spoke about the peak of his career and how he was living out of a suitcase as he had many shows planned daily. He also added that it had become so hectic that he would rest in his car for a few hours before the next event.

    When asked if he invested the money somewhere, he said, “I invested well. It was around the time of the 2008 recession, so a lot of the money we'd saved here and there we were realigning. It was a cluster at that point, but I did save well. I bought a house we well, so it was okay. But I was working for money, and I still believe that was one of my biggest regrets.”

    He also added that he was not happy with his music before the pandemic, even though he was working fine and making money. “Maybe it's my thinking, but when you're running behind money, you have to compromise many things with your talent, your music, your knowledge. I realised that after 35-37, I don't want to keep saying, ‘What to do, you have to compromise’.” 
    He also spoke about how the industry is about 'show off', and he was influenced by it too. In fact, he wore a Rolex watch that did not even fit him.

    Even though Pandya batted magnificently as he scored an unbeaten 40 off 30 deliveries, concerns about his ability as a bowler remained unchecked as Rohit Sharma didn’t allow him any overs.
    The Chairman of Selectors had said Hardik will bowl 4 overs in games. He hasn’t bowled even 1 yet. He is the pace bowling all rounder and India has gone in with 1 fast bowler less.

    According to MI’s bowling coach Shane Bond, the reason for Pandya not bowling is because the franchise is trying to look out for the needs and requirements of the Indian cricket team ahead of the world cup, while also looking out for the franchise as well. 
    “We’re obviously balancing the needs of our team and the needs of team India as well. It’s the one thing that this franchise does really well… is look after its players with an eye not only to win this competition but an eye to the World Cup that’s coming up as well,” Bond had said.
