Zakir Khan is one of the few stand-up performers who has made it really big in the industry. He has had a fair share of struggles and rejections before he became who he is now. Zakir has always used his humour to point out the odds in society. A couple of days back, he took to Instagram to share a video that might give beauty influencers a run for their money.
He shared some ‘useful’ tips for reducing dark circles, which is a common issue these days because of our hectic schedules. Zakir has come to our rescue and has given us tips that might be useful for some if not all (pun intended). He shared the cause of dark circles and how it stems from sleeplessness. Which is why it is common in people who have to stay up late for work and also in people who are not doing anything but not sleeping because of ‘bakcho**i’. Well, the video is hilarious and you shouldn’t miss it at any cost.
Here’s the video:

We have surely taken note of his remedies.
Talking about Zakir, he was judged for not having the ‘X' factor when he stepped into the industry more than a decade ago but he gave it back to the haters by achieving success in a short span of time.
In an earlier interview with DNA, he was asked about his success and journey so far. On this, he said, “More than anything else, I am thankful every day of my life. I’m the son of a music teacher from Indore and there are so many people in Mumbai who love me. I have been trying to do comedy for the past 10 years and have been doing it professionally for the past eight years. It’s just that for four years people have come to know me. So, it’s not like I have achieved fame overnight. It’s just that now I’m getting a chance to share with others what I have learnt in the last 10 years.”
View this post on Instagram
He was also asked if he has got any offers from Bollywood. Replying to this, he said, “Some offers have come but as an industry and as an individual, I’m not seeking approval from Bollywood. We have our own work and that’s going just fine. Then, the offers are often ambiguous and dubious. Aur hamein samajh aata hai! We see through the bullshit (laughs). Everybody assumes that if you have come to Mumbai for work, you want to become a hero. And if you say no to them, they get offended! But we have our own journey and that pit stop hasn’t come in my journey where I feel I need to do something in Bollywood. I’m good in my own universe.”

More strength to you Zakir and we hope you keep entertaining us with your humour in the future too.

No one really watches a movie to get some style inspiration, unless you are a fashion student studying their clothes.
But it is always a plus point if the characters give us more than just entertainment and also some style points while we watch the movie.
© Eros International
Some men in movies have done the double-duty by also doling out major fashion inspiration through their characters.
We have listed down some who got a major thumbs up from us and the fashion police for the stylish looks they pulled off in Bollywood movies.
© Excel Entertainment
Here are 5 best-dressed characters whose style was just on-point throughout the movie:
1. Vikram Singh Rathore (Khoobsurat) © Walt Disney Pictures India
The Yuvraj of Rajasthan’s Rathore family royally aced the style of a prince in his tailored suits, fine kurtas and bandhgala waistcoats with silk pocket squares.
His entire wardrobe was minimal and subtle much like his personality and gave traditional menswear a modern twist. Even in casuals, he looked prim and proper and stylish to the T.
2. Gautam Kapoor (Cocktail) © Eros International
Gautam was the kind of person who worked hard and partied harder and demonstrated how to wear business casuals for any and every occasion.
He wore summer blazers, cargo shorts, breezy cotton shirts that you can probably pull off while travelling, playing golf, attending a zoom meeting and while having a picnic in the park. He was a sartorial genius.
3. Ayan (Ae Dil Hai Mushkil) © Dharma Productions
You can love him or hate him but you cannot deny the fact that Ayan’s looks were swoon-worthy and he looked good in whatever he wore.
While it was the rockstar look in the songs, the sherwani in the ‘Channa Mereya’ or the refined look he pulled off in the second half of the movie, his clothes were all super cool and stylish.
4. Kabir Mehra (Dil Dhadakne Do) © Excel Entertainment
Although always donned in solid tees and basic blazers, Kabir Mehra looked like a million bucks in every shot.
His entire wardrobe in the movie consisted of blues, whites and grey but how he paired these neutral colours made all the difference. He definitely was the most stylish person on the cruise.
5. Aditya Kashyap (Jab We Met) © Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Limited
Be it a black pathani kurta and salwar or form-fitting suits, was there anything Aditya couldn’t pull off? We don’t think so.
He gave us travel style inspiration, formal fashion goals and Indian wear ideas all in the span of a two-hour film that the generation started copying as soon as the film hit the screens.

The one (and perhaps the only) person in Bollywood, who, if we had to equate with a Bollywood character falling close to Gabbar from Sholay, considering when she arrives, people wish they’d rather be gone, is none other than Kangana Ranaut.
The unabashed and unapologetic Manikarnika actress, who has never shied away from speaking her mind is known to raise storms with a few words alone.
© YouTube
In fact, in the recent past, she spoke her mind to such an extent that the micro blogging site Twitter had to permanently suspend her account for saying things that weren’t just inappropriate, but also sparked a national row.
Not that it stopped Kangana Ranaut from giving out her two cents, especially since it wasn’t the first time she said something shocking and it wasn’t going to be the last time either.
Here are 6 of the most explosive tweets from Kangana Ranaut, before her account was suspended:
1. When She Called Ranbir Kapoor A ‘Skirt Chaser’ © Twitter
This is the time when Kangana went off against Ranbir Kapoor by taking a dig at his character and calling him a ‘skirt chaser’.
In the same tweet, Kangana also alleged that Deepika Padukone is but a self-proclaimed mental illness patient, however, no one raises a word against them.
This tweet was also not the first of its kind, in several other tweets Kangana went on to call out Deepika Padukone for allegedly faking her depression.
2. When She Called Indian Cricketers ‘Dhobi Ka Kutta..’ © Twitter
This was during the time farmers were protesting against the government and there was too much tension in the air.
Cricketer Rohit Sharma tweeted about how he was of the idea to support both parties to arrive at a middle ground. Irked by the diplomacy, Kangana Ranaut made an unsolicited remark on all Indian cricketers, calling them ‘Dhobi ke kutte’.
3. When She Called Diljit Dosanjh ‘Karan Johar Ka Paltu...’ © Twitter
One of the most popular face-offs in Bollywood where actress Kangana Ranaut was slammed by singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh over the Indian farmers protest.
Kangana reportedly made huge claims against Punjab and farmers based on false information in one of her tweets and was called out by Diljit Dosanjh.
However, she did not go down without a fight and insinuated Diljit to be Karan Johar’s personal pet. Ouch!
4. When She Called Rihanna A ‘Fool’ And A ‘Dummy’ © Twitter
After pop singer Rihanna shared a tweet in support of Indian farmer protest and how the government allegedly blocked internet signals, actress Kangana Ranaut went off against the singer by calling her a ‘fool’ and a ‘dummy’ and at the same time, calling the farmers no less than ‘terrorists’.
5. When She Said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Needs To Be ‘Tamed’The final nail in her coffin, this particular tweet was what led Kangana Ranaut’s account on Twitter to be permanently suspended, since she urged Prime Minister Modi to get back into his ‘2000 virat roop’ to ‘tame’ West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee.
A tweet that sparked a lot of anger online, further to which Kangana’s account was taken down as per the abusive policy.

Conclusion
1. Virat Kohli’s Fitness HistoryThe Indian cricket team has always been blessed with some of the best sportsmen in the history of the game. The usual suspects consisted of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, and VVS Laxman.
All immensely talented players, capable of turning games around in the blink of an eye. However, these athletes mostly depended on their raw talents to snatch victories from the jaws of defeat.
It wasn’t until 2008, that a certain Dilliwala started gaining notoriety for his performances. Fierce and tenacious, this cricketer would go on to become one of the best batsmen the game had ever seen. Though something would change in the life of this emerging talent.
Being dropped from the team for the New Zealand tour of one-dayers pushed Virat Kohli to the brink of rock bottom. However, he truly hit his lowest point after being dropped for the West Indies (2009 ODI) tour too.
This forced Virat Kohli to take matters into his own hands, be the captain of his own ship, if you will. For a year and a half, Virat toiled in solitude, in an attempt to mold himself into the talent he believed he deserved to be.
© Virat Kohli
With a singular focus, he dedicated time to improving his game and fitness in the gym as well as on the field. His improved discipline when it came to matters of rest, nutrition and fitness, polished the once raw diamond into a devastatingly complete athlete. A bonafide cricketing trailblazer, Virat Kohli was ready to take on the world.
Virat has now ended up revolutionizing the fitness levels of the entire game itself. Armed with razor-sharp intent, Virat Kohli is now the benchmark for fitness levels and high-octane performances in the cricketing world.
His teammates followed suit with increased dedication to honing their individual athleticism as well. With the overall fitness levels of the Indian Cricket Team at an all-time high, the Boys in Blue were ready to obliterate any competition that came their way.
Virat Kohli’s iconic status and influence isn’t limited to the world of cricket. He enjoys a global appeal, and it’s only natural that people look up to him for inspiration in order to improve their own fitness levels.

2. #Fitness For YouLooking for inspiration from trainers is an understandable pursuit, however, their training may go beyond the requirements of a regular person. Read on to learn how your favourite athletes keep themselves fit.
3. Virat Kohli’s Fitness Routine Virat, at the age of 32, is still performing at a level that is unimaginable for most athletes and has every intention of continuing that intensity. So naturally, his routine involves movements that are aimed at improving and maintaining his muscles’ tensility. His workout routine features a special focus on developing lower-half strength and explosivity. Some would imagine that a cricketer who likes scoring runs would give preference to their upper body, but that’s not true. His style of play derives explosive thrust from his lower body for a variety of movements, whether it is with the bat or without it.
© Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli follows a strict 5-day workout routine, followed by two days of rest. Implementing compound movements and cardio exercises helps him perform at the highest levels. During the off-season, he focuses on building muscle mass as well as strengthening his back, legs, and core.
© Virat Kohli
Cheeku, as he’s fondly called, likes his body to perform according to his commands. He’s in his prime and he’s raring to go. Virat Kohli can credit this to the intensity he puts in every single exercise.
3.1. Warmup: RunningWorkouts are a vital part of your fitness routine, but there’s more to the ritual than cruising through them. Warm-up is crucial.
Virat never skips out on a good warm-up. Cricket is different from other sports as there are moments of inertia before you’re expected to respond to the ball flying off the bat. If you’re not warmed up properly it will affect your performance and may even lead to injuries, due to the start-stop nature of the game. To get his body warmed up, Virat Kohli relies on running to build up a sweat. The longest he has run for is seriously impressive. 20 minutes at 15kmph. Phew. It definitely helps keep his cardiovascular fitness at peak performance.
3.2. Compound Training: Explosive StrengthCompound exercises are movements that involve several muscle groups at the same time. Squats, for example, work your calves, glutes, and quadriceps.
These kinds of exercises improve intramuscular coordination while improving strength and muscle mass as well. No wonder Virat Kohli’s a huge fan of these movements.
© Virat Kohli
Over the years, Virat Kohli has become their hardcore fan. It’s the first thing he looks for when he’s finding a gym while on the move. He’s built a comfortable lifting platform at home as well. Adding solid snatches, lifts, and jerks to his fitness vocabulary.
3.2.1. Deadlift
via GIPHY
Virat Kohli is able to pull off a seriously impressive 145kg deadlift. This compound exercise is a staple of the best strength-training programs. It builds his back, strengthens his core, while also improving his jump performance. It comes especially handy while executing tricky hook shots on the pitch.
3.2.2. Power Snatch
The power snatch is a complex and dynamic movement that engages almost every muscle group in your body. This movement brings reinforced stability to any athlete’s game as the core has to work harder than usual to keep the weight balanced. Virat Kohli uses this movement to develop power, explosiveness, speed, and coordination in his game. His incredible reflexes and explosive reach as a fielder can be credited to this movement.
3.2.3. Power Clean © Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli can often be seen performing a power clean as part of his fitness routine. This full-body movement helps him jump farther and higher, run faster, and improves his strength as well. This helps Virat save precious seconds running between the wickets.
3.3. At-Home Workout: Explosive CircuitsAs a seasoned athlete, Virat Kohli knows the importance of bulletproof focus required for performing at the highest level. Part of that focus demands him to be at the top of his fitness even when no equipment is available. Be On The Move. This is one of Virat’s secrets.
© Virat Kohli
Depending on your fitness levels, here are three variations of explosive workout circuits that come recommended by Virat Kohli.
3.3.1. Starter LevelThe aim of Virat’s starter-level at-home workout circuit is to get your body up and running, especially if you’re getting into the fitness lifestyle as a beginner.
Virat Kohli begins with a 6-step circuit. As Many Reps As Possible (AMRAP) is to be followed, in this instance it means that you should aim at targeting as many repetitions per movement as possible. Beginning with 1 minute of high-energy jumping-jacks, followed by a minute of back-to-back squats. From squats, Virat moves to another whole minute of back-lunges. He gingerly switches to a round of side-lunges, followed by a round of forward-lunges. Both last 60 seconds each.

3.3.1.1. 6-step AMRAP1 Minute Jumping-Jacks 1 Minute Squats1 Minute Back-Lunges1 Minute Side-Lunges1 Minute Forward-Lunges1 Minute RestRepeat Once.Virat Kohli rests for 1 minute after each round of the starter level workout circuit. He repeats the round once.
3.3.2. Intermediate LevelFor the ones who had been relatively active at some point in their lives, and are resuming fitness, Virat Kohli has a special kind of off-season workout up-circuit. It’s a single round of 16 steps in total. Don’t worry 8 of those steps are rest.
© Virat Kohli
3.3.2.1. 16-step AMRAP20 Seconds AMRAP Squats10 Seconds Rest 10 Seconds AMRAP Squat-jumps 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Squats10 Seconds Rest 10 Seconds AMRAP Squat-jumps 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Squats10 Seconds Rest 10 Seconds AMRAP Squat-jumps 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Squats10 Seconds Rest 10 Seconds AMRAP Squat-jumps END OF CIRCUIT
If done properly the workout shouldn’t last more than 5 minutes. With As Many Reps As Possible (AMRAP), Virat begins the circuit by doing back-to-back squats for 20 seconds. He rests for 10 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of explosive jumping squats. Again, he rests for a further 10 seconds. He repeats this 4-step circuit 4 times.
This ensures Virat’s body is up and running even when a gym is inaccessible to him.
3.3.3. Advanced Level
via GIPHY
The reason why burpees are loathed by most people is due to the full-body demand it exerts on you. Virat Kohli truly understands the benefits of performing burpees. He breaks these movements down into three levels to keep changing the demands on his body, in order to keep it guessing.
The beginner burpee without the final jump-clap. An intermediate burpee where the chest doesn’t touch the floor. Finally, the advanced burpee is the classic burpee but performed with a bounce in each step. The advanced burpee should feel more like a fluid motion.
3.3.3.1. 16-step AMRAP20 Seconds AMRAP Beginner Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Intermediate Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Advanced Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Beginner Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Intermediate Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Advanced Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Beginner Burpees 10 Seconds Rest 20 Seconds AMRAP Intermediate Burpees END OF CIRCUIT
The 16-step advanced circuit has Virat performing burpees for 20 seconds, followed by 10 seconds of rest. Each movement demands As Many Reps As Possible (AMRAP). Virat Kohli begins this circuit with 20 seconds of AMRAP beginner burpees, which is followed by 10 seconds of rest. The second variation of the burpee in this circuit is the intermediate burpee, of which Virat does AMRAP for 20 seconds, succeeded by 10 seconds of rest again. Finally, he does 20 seconds of AMRAP of advanced burpees, which really starts testing your endurance. Thankfully the next 10 seconds of rest follow right after.
This circuit is repeated twice fully. The third and final repetition of the circuit stops after Virat Kohli is finished with 20 seconds of AMRAP of intermediate burpees.
3.4. Choice Of Workout Music
Virat Kohli has eclectic taste when it comes to his choice of workout music. He listens to everything, from Punjabi bangers like Tu Hi Ah by PropheC to classic rock songs like Killer Queen by the British rock band Queen.
4. Virat Kohli’s Diet And NutritionIt’s hard to believe but once upon a time, Virat Kohli could have been the global poster boy for butter chicken. Such was his love for the dish.
However, after a series of poor performances led to much self-introspection, Virat Kohli decided to overhaul his lifestyle, yet again. This led to him switching gears. He felt further fine-tuning his diet and fitness may lead to improved performances. That’s what the elite mentality demands.
To become the best player in the world, he had to train and eat like the best players in the world.
© Virat Kohli
Eating only clean, lean vegetarian food, Virat Kohli transformed his body. He got rid of all the junk food he was consuming.
Assisted by his elite-level workouts, Virat Kohli dropped 6-7kg within 8-10 months. He felt his game improve. Virat’s movements were now lighter and quicker. So he whole-heartedly committed to the quasi-vegetarian lifestyle, making it a core habit. There was no turning back for him.
© iStock
However, the ‘true’ benefits of a completely vegetarian diet have been a point of criticism from many athletes and nutrition experts. They believe that Vitamin B12, D3, and Omega 3 supplements should be consumed by athletes if they choose to fuel their game with their vegetarian diets. Another reason why many athletes avoid going vegetarian is that they assume their protein requirements will be affected. These supplements are crucial to the harmonious functioning of a healthy body, especially for elite athletes.
Virat won’t have to worry about it as he revealed that his present diet involved plenty of vegetables, eggs, dal, quinoa, and lots of spinach. The cricketer revealed that he consumes lots of simply cooked Indian food and Chinese too. Virat Kohli has often declared his love for dosas as well. His eating style has become more refined and in control as well. Gone are the days when he’d sit and hog on any particular meal. He’s a lot more disciplined with his portions as well.
© Virat Kohli
Instead of reaching for junk foods for energy, he’s settled on healthier alternatives. Virat snacks on almonds, protein bars, and fruits.
4.1. What Are Virat’s Vices? © Virat Kohli
Aside from a famously quick temper, Virat Kohli has very few vices affecting his game. He doesn’t have a smoking or drinking habit. This ensures his immunity and stamina are never compromised.
5. Conclusion © Virat Kohli
All in all, Virat is the human embodiment of Elite Mentality. He knows what it takes to be the best in the game, and he’s not afraid to do what it takes, even if it’s difficult.
TL: DR;
What can you learn from Virat Kohli's story?
1. It starts with Mental Toughness.
2. Put in the work in your Workouts.
3. Complement your strict workout routine with a clean and green diet. (Zero junk food)
