As we grow older, we realize how hard it is to earn money, and all our ideas of becoming stars and having that lavish bungalow and fancy cars diminish unlike how it is shown in the movies. With the high inflation rate, outstanding rent payments, and whatnot, we really start feeling, jaise chal raha hai waise toh there won't be any savings to really invest.

It does indeed feel like doing a 9-5 job and attaining all the riches in the world can't go hand-in-hand. Or, can they? Well, 500 India-based employees of an IT firm becoming crorepatis overnight suggests so.

These are the employees of Girish Mathrubootham's Freshworks software company that made its debut on the Nasdaq stock exchange on Wednesday (September 22) after a billion-dollar initial public offering (IPO). The company, headquartered in San Mateo in California, became the first Indian Software as a service (SaaS) enterprise to be listed on the iconic New York-based stock exchange.

Things really got crazy for the employees as the shares of Freshworks rose by 32 percent. The IT company's shares were at $47.55 at New York trading closing time on Wednesday, providing it a market value of around $13 billion, which in turn led to over 500 India-based company employees becoming “crorepatis”.
What's even surprising is that around 70 of them are under the age of 30. Girish Mathrubootham, CEO and co-founder of Freshworks, took to Twitter to share the amazing piece of news.
“Today is a dream come true for me. From humble beginnings in Trichy to ringing the bell at Nasdaq for Freshworks IPO. Thank you to our employees, customer, partners, and investors for believing in this dream.” he tweeted.

The infamous casting couch has existed in the industry for ages, but it’s only now that actors have started to talk about it more openly without the fear of being judged. For the unversed, casting couch is defined as a demand for sexual favours by a person in a position of authority, in return for a part in a movie.
Mallika Sherawat has now talked about the horrors of the casting couch. Though she hasn’t faced it, her problems started after she did bold roles in movies like Murder.
    View this post on Instagram
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Mallika was if she had faced the casting couch. She said, “I haven’t faced it directly... My rise to stardom, I was very lucky, it was very easy. I came to Mumbai, I got Khwahish and Murder. I didn’t have to struggle much. But after the movies, because Murder was such a bold movie, and that kind of a bold image was established, a lot of male actors started taking a lot of liberties with me, and they said if you can be so bold onscreen, so you can be bold with us in person also."
    View this post on Instagram
She continued, “They did not differentiate between the onscreen and offscreen persona, so that is where I faced a lot of difficult situations, because I am a very strong woman, and I would tell the male actor, ‘I am sorry, I am not going to compromise’. I haven’t come to Bollywood to compromise, I have come here to make a career. That’s why they have never worked with me.”
In an earlier interview, she said that she deliberately tried to 'stay away' from people who gave off bad vibes. She told Bollywood Bubble, “I've always, because all this happens when you put yourself in that position, I feel. I didn't go to Bollywood parties, I didn't meet any producer or director at night in a hotel room, or at night in the office. I kept myself away, and I thought, ‘Jo meri kismat mein hai woh mere paas ayega (I’ll get what is destined for me). I don't need to do all these things.”

Mallika might not have faced casting couch horrors directly but the fact that male actors sought sexual favours from her shows how deep rooted the problem is and it's about time more actors start speaking out about it.

One of Dharma Productions’ most popular and iconic movies that set a benchmark for quite other movies that followed, Karan Johar probably looks at it as a masterpiece.
Of course, it wasn’t and we’re gonna tell you just why.
Because a movie that KJo thought was going to be an emotional rollercoaster about a broken family finally finding its way back was actually a movie about propagating stereotypes that already existed.
    © Dharma Productions
The film starts with Naina (Priety Zinta) giving us an introduction to each character, from her family to her neighbours to her friend Rohit (Saif Ali Khan), all of whom have a part to play in this narrative.

    © Dharma Productions
Naina lives in a dysfunctional family with her mother, her grandmother and two younger siblings one of which is physically challenged and the other who is adopted.

    © Dharma Productions
Her mom (Jenny) doesn’t like her MIL (Dadi aka Lajjo), Lajjo doesn’t like Gia (the adopted sister), Gia doesn’t like being neglected and Naina doesn’t like anything about her life. In fact, one could say that in her own twisted way, Naina suffers from a major victim complex and likes to crib about everything.

    via GIPHY
Enters Aman (Shah Rukh Khan), their over-indulgent neighbour Chaddha Ji’s rather nosy grandson. Aman can best be described as a male version of a typical Indian neighbourhood aunty who wants in on all the gossip and always overstays their welcome.
    © Dharma Productions
He doesn’t just force interactions with his neighbours - Naina and family, but also forces his presence in their home, their kitchen and even starts to partake in their personal matters. And if at all Naina objects, he resorts to making fun of her for wearing specs. Such stereotyping, much wow.

    © Dharma Productions
Amidst all of this unsolicited fixing and mansplaining by Aman, every single character is reduced to mere stereotypes.

Gia, the adopted daughter who is despised by her Dadi. Sweetu, Naina’s overweight friend who is constantly body shamed and ridiculed. Jazz, Sweetu’s sister who is judged for liking men’s attention and Naina for well, being someone who wears specs. Cue chashmish.
    © Dharma Productions
Aman soon realizes that Naina’s family is in deep financial trouble, considering Jenny is running an underwhelming cafe in New York with Jazz and doing all of that as a single mother and hated daughter in law.

So, he decides to swoop in and start helping, not that anyone asked or even objected to the intrusion.
    © Dharma Productions
The family that was already in debt, somehow, finds enough funds for a complete renovation of the cafe and bam, it’s a hit.

    © Dharma Productions
One after the other, as Aman takes pride in his pet projects, Naina falls in love with him. He does too, but we’ve only reached the interval and so the happy ending promised by Bollywood films need to wait.

Aman tells Naina he is married and her heart gets broken.

    via GIPHY
Soon, things take a dark turn when it is revealed that Aman has cancer and doesn’t have much time to live. A tiny detail he has managed to keep a secret from everyone but his mom.
As he realises he cannot be with Naina, he decides to take one last project up in his life - making Naina fall in love with himself.
Because in this film, agar tum meri nahi ho sakti, to kisi aur ki toh ho sakti ho.
    © Dharma Productions
And that’s where the problem lies, in men not even considering asking the woman what she wants, instead deciding for themselves and manipulating her into getting their way.

    © Dharma Productions
Aman first brainwashes Rohit into developing feelings for his friend Naina.

    © Dharma Productions
While doing so, ends up instigating some rather problematic and homophobic reactions from Kanta Ben, Rohit’s house help. He then launches a sexist mission - “6 ladki in” that crashes and burns. Because dude, come on. Naina finds out she was being toyed with and throws a shit-fit.

But because this wasn’t Aman’s first rodeo, he does some spontaneous and dramatic damage control and secures the win for his friend Rohit. All the while, pining and crying in the background for his great sacrifice.
    © Dharma Productions
What follows is Naina and Rohit’s first date on which Rohit ends up proposing to Naina. Because who knows whether or not he would even be able to get a second date with Naina.

    © Dharma Productions
Meanwhile, Aman finds out that Gia, who was adopted by Jenny, was in fact her late husband’s stepdaughter. He confronts Naina’s dadi about the truth and puts her in place by making her realise how her son was flawed, not the DIL who kept Gia as her own, all these years.

    © Dharma Productions
Dadi upon realising what a b**ch she’d been, apologises and mends her ways.

    © Dharma Productions
Wedding preparations start, KJo feeds into cliches a little more, this time by stereotyping the entire Gujrati race by making their pronunciations of ‘hall’ into ‘hole’.

    © Dharma Productions
As Naina and Rohit are fast-forwarding through their preps, they run into Aman’s make-believe wife who in reality was his doctor.

    © Dharma Productions
Apparently, Aman, that compulsive liar, had told everyone that he was married in order to hide the fact that he was sick. Obviously, the doctor set the record straight by denying the false claims and also bursting Naina’s bubble.

Devastated by the news, she realises that she was played once again.
    © Dharma Productions
As Rohit and Naina confront Aman about his health and the fact that he actually sacrificed his love, let me rephrase that, that he treated Naina as a commodity and handed it over to Rohit as a consolation prize, Aman plays the final card he has left - dying victim card.

    © Dharma Productions
The wedding takes place, Aman attends and bawls like a baby. And soon after, he passes on. 20 years later, it is seen that Naina is narrating this weird-ass story to Gia who is all grown up now.

    © Dharma Productions
And just as she is doing so, she gets interrupted by her and Rohit’s daughter, who apparently has been born a firang. Guess, either KJo owes us an explanation for this goof-up, or Naina owes one to Rohit...

    The End.

Life is all about second chances...unless it’s a toxic ex who drunk texted you and wants to crawl back into your life.
However, what if it’s not a toxic ex but a love lost?
There are people who broke up, got back together and are still going strong (think Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma). So, when is it actually okay to let an ex back?
    © Instagram/Virat Kohli
Getting back together with an ex is not what most people would suggest and it’s probably the best idea for the both of you to move on.

However, there are some exceptions to the rule. A relationship that did not work in the past could rekindle again only if you give it a chance.
    © NBC
Here are some and the only acceptable reasons when you can consider taking your ex back:

    1. The Timing Was Bad © iStock
If you were great together but circumstances were such that parting ways made more sense, then the relationship is worthy of giving a second chance once you both feel ready for it.

If you both were busy with a new job, preparing for an important exam, or one of you moved to another city that got you two further, you can get back together once you both are more settled and think it’s worth reconciling.
    2. You Wanted Different Things © iStock
With time and age, your priorities change and so do people.

If you both broke up because you wanted different things like one of you wanted to settle but the other one wanted to focus on career, if years down the lane you realise you are on the same page and want to be together, not giving it a shot would be a real bummer.
    3. There Is Remorse & Regret © iStock
Not all breakups are mutual and if you broke up with someone because they hurt you but they now genuinely seem sorry and take responsibility for their actions, you can consider the possibility of getting back together.

However, this isn’t the best idea when breaking up is a pattern. If your relationship was more an on-again-off-again kinda thing, better not give it a try because you might end up breaking your heart again.
    4. The Breakup Was Avoidable © iStock
If the breakup happened on a silly thing and it was avoidable, you can rekindle your love, no judgments.

A lot of people realise that it never works with anyone else and how good they are with a certain person who they ended things with on a trivial thing. In that case, getting back together with an ex is not that bad an idea.

The time when Indian talent is not just going global but is also earning accolades globally is finally here. In a record-breaking streak, the Emmy Awards nominations are out and India has three super entries in the race.

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has secured a nomination in the best performance by an actor category for his Netflix movie Serious Men.
The movie was based on a novel written by Manu Joseph. He will be competing with David Tennant (Des), Roy Nik ( for Israeli series Normali ) and with Christian Tappan of Colombia (El Robo del Siglo).

Disney+ Hotstar series Aarya starring the beautiful Sushmita Sen has made it to the final four of the best drama series category and will be competing with Chile's El Presidente, Israel's Tehran and UK’s There She Goes.

The third feather in our cap is ace comedian and producer Vir Das, who made Vir Das: For India with Netflix and earned an Emmy nomination in the comedy segment.
Um...I think I just got nominated at the #InternationalEmmyAwards @TheWeirdass@iemmys
