Bipasha Basu has always stood out in Bollywood, an industry wherein you are judged easily for the minutest of things. But we're glad she didn’t pay heed to age-old customs. From owning her dusky skin colour to redefining the word ‘sexy’, Bipasha has lived according to her own set of rules. She has never bogged down to customs like a heroine should be fair and petite. She went against the popular culture of Bollywood and made her name.
View this post on InstagramBipasha has completed 20 years in the industry and has had a fair share of struggles. She says she's glad that she didn’t give in to the rules of how a leading lady in Bollywood is supposed to be and took the road less traveled. Basu made her acting debut in 2001 with the multi-starrer Ajnabee, directed by Abbas–Mustan.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, she narrated some brutally honest and rather strange incidents on how people used to react to her boldness. “It was back then when I met my first hairstylist, Kaushal, who basically taught me what were the rules of being a heroine at that point of time. And they were quite funny and hilarious to me,” she said.
She went on to add, “As an actress, you apparently had to hide in those days. But I was very different. I guess that’s why the bohemian tag came to me very fast. My choice of roles was very different. My presence was very different. I did not look like the quintessential, fair, petite, timid girl. I looked quite feisty, fiery, and sexy.”

Basu did not care for what is and isn't socially acceptable. She was okay with the ‘sexy’ tag but back then, it wasn’t something people were comfortable with. She shared, “Today, sexy has become a very easy adjective. But back then, when people used to call me sexy, there’d be questions, how do I feel about it. But I don’t know why they thought I’m bohemian. Maybe it’s just because I didn’t hide and used to speak my mind.”
She also shared how she was asked to abide by certain rules. “I remember I was having iced tea in a glass while shooting Ajnabee in Switzerland. My hairstylist came and told me, ‘Everyone is thinking that you are drinking whiskey’. She asked me to drink it in a cup to avoid this perception. Then this other time, I was wearing a backless blouse, and she told me, ‘Actresses don’t dress up like this’ and that I’m only supposed to wear it on-screen,” she said.

Elaborating it further and sharing her resentment over these rules, she said, “I used to ask if you can’t wear something in your normal life, how can you wear it on screen. In fact, I’ve had experiences where big actresses would comment on other girls wearing tiny shorts off-screen, and when they were the ones who’d wear it on screen.”
Bipasha has always been refreshingly honest about her relationships but she was advised not to. From dating Dino Morea to John Abraham, she has always been very transparent about her personal life. She recalled an incident wherein she announced that her boyfriend is coming on set and people were not very pleased to hear it. “I was asked why you’re talking about your boyfriend. It’s a very personal thing. I was like I’m not ashamed of my boyfriend and don’t need to hide him,” she shared.

Like we know that Bollywood has an obsession with fair skin, Bipasha had a tough time with people accepting her dusky tone and had to hear insensitive remarks.
“I used to love sunbathing all the time, even though I’m dusky. But I was told, ‘You’ve to walk with an umbrella all the time’. I understand now why umbrellas are required. Back then, in my me-time, I was told that you shouldn’t tan because you’re already dusky. But none of these things really stopped me. These are some rules that I was told to follow right from my first film, which I never followed,” she asserted.
We are glad that she didn’t succumb to such rules and lived life according to her own rules.

For a few men, it is a woman’s eyes, for others, it is the way she carries herself, some even say that they look for a certain type - workaholic or a party animal or maybe, someone who is an introvert. But, by far, one of the most shocking things to be looked for in a woman, is for her to have a bit of a psycho streak.
Something that surprised actress Malaika Arora and us alike was when actor and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman recently revealed how he gets attracted to women, who are, in his words, “loud” and “psycho”.
    © Twitter
A conversation that took place on the sets of the reality show Supermodel of the Year, it was when the two judges were getting candid about their preference in men and women that Milind decided to let her and all of us in on his little secret.

He said, “She has to be psycho,” and suddenly, there was laughter coming from behind him. “Who is laughing there? Is that the crew?” asked Milind as Malaika confessed that Milind’s statement simply put her in a state of shock. After all, not many men out there would be willing to give the crazy in a woman a chance at love.
    View this post on Instagram
Milind went on to describe his type as he said, “She should be loud. Like, (shouts) ‘I am here’. That kind.”
Malaika, on the other hand, who was still reeling from the initial shock of hearing something so bizarre, said, “Oh, baap re. I would hate to be caught in a room with this person because I would be running in the opposite direction. I would hate to be on a date like that.”
Call it an unpopular opinion, but Milind shared how that kind of a woman would always catch his eye.
He then went on to ask Malaika what turns her on in a man and this is what she had to say, “I really like a guy who is a little rough around the edges. I like that. Too prissy, chikna, nahi hota (or clean-shaven, I don’t like). Outrageously flirtatious. I like somebody who can kiss really well.”

As the two judges moved from discussing their turn-ons to their turn-offs, Malaika revealed she dislikes men who ‘gossip’ and Milind shared he gets put off by women who lie. Talking about his wife Ankita Konwar, he added, “She has seen all shades..of grey.”
Both Malaika Arora and Milind Soman, who have formerly been supermodels themselves, are judging this year’s season 2 of Supermodel Of The Year that airs every Sunday at 7 pm on MTV.

Ahead of their first match of the second-leg of Indian Premier League (IPL2021) against Delhi Capitals, SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) medium-pacer T Natarajan tested positive for the coronavirus.

Following all the security protocols, the yorker-specialist isolated himself from the rest of the squad.
JUST IN: #SRH's T Natarajan has tested positive for COVID-19.

The player has isolated himself from the rest of the squad.

Today's match between SRH and #DC will go ahead as scheduled.#IPL2021
    — Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) September 22, 2021
Six other members of the SRH squad, including all-rounder Vijay Shankar, were deemed to be his close contacts and were also placed in isolation as a precautionary measure.

All the other members, including players and coaching staff, underwent RT-PCR tests once again and returned with negative tests after which, the match went ahead as scheduled at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

When the news broke out, there was a state of panic among fans who feared what implications it could have on the tournament, if they would be able to complete the full event or it would see the same fate as earlier this year.

The last time when the cases had emerged inside the IPL 2021 bio bubble in early May, the cash-rich league had to be postponed mid-way into the tournament.
However, unlike last time, the BCCI and the franchise were ready for all eventualities and it was this readiness that helped them dodge this bullet with ease. This incident also indicated that the authorities had learned from their past experiences and were better prepared to deal with such hurdles along the way.

With so much money riding on the tournament, they couldn’t afford to not complete the event. The way the BCCI and SRH management dealt with the situation received high praise on social media, while critics like Michael Vaughan called them hypocrites for treating the two somewhat similar situations differently.

The Indian players’ refusal to take the field after a COVID-19 breakout within their camp led to the cancellation of the fifth and final match in Manchester but when the same thing happened in Dubai, the BCCI had a completely different stance.
Let’s see if the IPL gets cancelled like the last Test !!!!! I guarantee it won’t be … #OnOn https://t.co/HV7V70i69x
    — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) September 22, 2021
Not for the first time, former England captain Michael Vaughan took a dig at the BCCI and highlighted the double-standards of the Indian board. “Let’s see if the IPL gets cancelled like the last Test !!!!! I guarantee it won’t be,” Vaughan tweeted.

    © Reuters
Ever since the fifth Test was cancelled, Vaughan has, on multiple occasions, publicly expressed his displeasure and blamed the Indian cricket board for prioritising its cash-cow IPL over Test cricket.

His tweet didn’t go down well with the fans and they bashed him for comparing two completely incidents and creating an unnecessary controversy.
Cry some more. Yes India team canceled 5th test for IPL.
IPL is the main priority. So what?
    Cry. Cry. Cry.
    — (@LivinginPantEra) September 22, 2021India did complete the series in Sri Lanka recently with a Covid outbreak in their camp, even if it resulted in them playing a weak team. Agreed that we need more light on what exactly transpired at Manchester, but if the situation gets worse surely they would call this IPL too.
    — Raghuraman (@1410Raghu) September 22, 2021Fourth test wasn't cancelled b/w Eng and Ind after Ravi shashtri came covid positive. Please don't compare Apple's and orange's.
    — Ashish pradhan (@champashis) September 22, 2021 pic.twitter.com/O640Rrh22w
    — Ronak (@Ronak58537655) September 22, 2021I think you don't understand a player getting affected and the whole support staff getting affected , there's a replacement for player but there's no replacement for support staff , no team has 2 head coach! The read why IPl got cancelled at 1st place was covid so stop blamingIPL
    — Abhishek (@Abhishe76323060) September 22, 2021If it’s in such a bubble how has someone caught it
    — Neil Fletcher (@neilfletcher72) September 22, 2021How do you handle insults everyday ?
    — Raman (@Dhuandhaar) September 22, 2021 Rather than comparing apples to oranges, Vaughan must know that the two incidents were totally different in nature. The last test was cancelled because a majority of Indian players came in close contact with the assistant physio who tested positive and it created a panic within their camp.
In Natarajan’s case, he was not in contact with the majority of the players and the team had enough options to field a competitive Playing XI, they couldn’t compete, that's a completely different thing.
    © Twitter/IPL
The times we are living in, we can’t let one single case jeopardise the whole tournament, that's just not feasible and it would be foolish to compare Natarajan’s case with what happened in England.

James Bond is one of the most sensational movie series that everyone has loved watching since they were kids. Now, while many renowned Hollywood actors have gone on to portray 007 on the screen, there is no one quite like Daniel Craig.
The 53-year-old actor is set to reprise his role as the famous special agent in the latest Bond film No Time To Die, and it's going to be quite a memorable movie as it is his last Bond film ever.
    © Instagram
Yes. The actor is retiring from the role of James Bond after doing five films in the series, with the role likely to be given to other actors in contention. Now, ahead of the release of the upcoming film No Time To Die, the English actor was asked about his say on a potential Bond movie with a female lead. Rumors of a female Bond movie have been going on for quite some time and now Mr. James Bond himself had his say, and it looks like he isn't a big fan of it.

Craig questioned why there should be a woman playing James Bond at all, as he is of the opinion that the women can have better and more iconic roles instead of settling down for a revival role. "There should simply be better parts for women and actors of lour. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?" said Craig.
Well, it's almost similar to what happened with George Clooney and Brad Pitt's Oceans movie series, which was revived with a female ensemble.
    © Prime Video
Let's just say it didn't do wonders at the box office, so in a way, what Craig says does make sense. Instead, the makers should focus on newer and more substantial roles for female leads that are basically designed for them.

The recent comments made by Craig are sort of in similar stead to what Bond films' producer Barbara Broccoli had to say. Barbara agrees that the mere gender-reversal of such roles is not good enough and there should be an emphasis on the creation of fresher roles for female actors.
Fans are waiting for the release of the much anticipated No Time To Die, after which Daniel will pass the Bond mantle to the next actor in line to replace him. It hasn't been decided as to who will be next Bond but it looks like a close tie between Bridgerton star Rege-Jean Page and Tom Hardy among few other actors.
No Time To Die starring Ralph Fiennes, Lea Seydoux, and Ben Whishaw along with Rami Malek releases in theatres on September 30 this year.

The government of Pakistan has alleged that the email about a possible security threat that was received by the New Zealand cricket board which ended up cancelling their tour of Pakistan had originated in India.
According to Fawad Chaudhry, Federal Minister For Information & Broadcasting in the Pakistan government, the email which prevented the New Zealand cricket team from touring their country for the first time in 18 years, had come from an IP address located in Mumbai.
    — Government of Pakistan (@GovtofPakistan) September 22, 2021
In an official press conference, Chaudhry broke down the entire progress of how the issue of the security started off with an alleged “fake Facebook post” followed by an email to Martin Guptill’s wife which said that the her husband will be killed in Pakistan.
He also says that New Zealand cricket received yet another message mere hours before they were supposed to play against Pakistan, in which the writer had threatened to install bombs across the Black Caps’ route, at their hotels and even their flights.
    View this post on Instagram
However, towards the end of the press conference, Chaudhry added that the final email which was sent to the New Zealand squad came from an account which was made on a electronic device with 13 other IDs - all of which had “Hindi names” in it.

Finally, the minister alleged that a Mumbai resident by the name of Om Prakash Mishra was the man behind making these threats to the Kiwis. He doubled down on his original statement in suggesting that the terror threat came from Mumbai, Mararashtra.

    — Doraemon (@vkrai07) September 22, 2021
As they say, the memory of the Internet never fails and just as Chaudhry stated the name ‘Om Prakash Mishra,’ they quickly flocked to the infamous song ‘Aunty Ki Ghanti’, especially because the name of the lead singer was also Om Prakash Mishra.

Ever since the conference got over, Indian critics of the Pakistani government have not only brushed aside the hilarious allegations but have also started watching Om Prakash Mishta’s one-hit-wonder song on YouTube, while sharing the link to the video in the reply section of the official tweet released by the Pakistan Government account.

Pakistan would do well to expend the same effort in setting its own house in order and taking credible and verifiable action against terrorism emanating from its soil and terrorists who have found safe sanctuaries there," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in July.
"The international community is well aware of Pakistan's credentials when it comes to terrorism. This is acknowledged by none other than its own leadership, which continues to glorify terrorists like Osama Bin Laden as 'martyrs'," he said.
