From Kartik Aaryan’s messy look to Arjun Kapoor’s soft curls, when it comes to hairstyle inspiration, we aren’t short of any.

But why is it that these hairstyles look good only on celebrities?
Surely, you must have tried to recreate your favourite celeb's hairstyle at home. However, they are never as good as expected.
Why? The answer is simple - you’re probably using the wrong products for your hair type and style.
Getting your basics right is extremely important and we’re here to help you through it.
Here’s all that you need to know about the different types of hair products for men and which one you should use based on your hair type:
Types Of Hair Products  © MensXP
Hair products can be roughly classified into three main categories - hair care products, hair styling products and hair styling tools.

    1. Hair Care Products Hair care products help in nourishing the hair and mostly, target problems like hair fall, dandruff and excess oil. They’re meant to help you take care of your hair and improve its overall health.
    · Hair Shampoo Shampoos are cleansers that help in removing the excess oil, dirt and dandruff from the scalp. It’s very important that you choose the right shampoo based on your scalp type.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2496__
Men with oily scalp should go for a shampoo with cleansing agents like clay, charcoal, lemon, etc. Men with dry scalp should go for hydrating shampoos with hydrating ingredients like essential oils and aloe vera gel.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2497__
    · Hair Conditioner Hair conditioners are meant to be used after using hair shampoo. While cleaning your scalp, shampoos tend to dry out your hair. This is where a conditioner steps in.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1261__
It helps in increasing the smoothness of your hair while moisturizing it. It also helps in protecting your hair against environmental damage.
Regardless of your hair type, a conditioner is a must in your hair care routine.
    · Hair Oil  © Giphy
Hair oil is one of the most popular hair care products in India. Depending on your hair concern, you can pick from hundreds of different types of hair oils.

Hair oil is to your scalp, what food is to your body. In other words, it’s a nutrient-packed product meant to strengthen your hair.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2498__
Men with oily scalp should go for antibacterial oils like lemon, rosemary or coconut oil. Whereas, men with dry scalp should go for more nourishing oils like almond, argan, jojoba or castor oil.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2499__
You can also read about the best hair oils for hair growth here and choose accordingly.
    · Hair Mask © Giphy
A hair mask is a deeply nourishing hair product. It’s meant to condition, hydrate and treat damaged hair. You can use a hair mask once or twice a week, depending on how often you need it.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1460__
Choosing the right hair mask will depend on your concern rather than your hair type. From anti-dandruff hair masks to hair masks for brittle hair, there are different types of masks that you can choose from.
    · Hair Tonic Hair tonic is enriched with active ingredients and can be both - a styling as well as a hair care product. Depending on your hair concern, you can pick from hair tonics of various types.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2500__
Primarily, this product helps in adding shine to your hair and is best suited for dry hair types which may lack hydration and shine.
    2. Hair Styling Products  © MensXP
Hair styling products are the type of products that help you in making different hairstyles and improve the overall appearance of your hair. They may or may not be beneficial for your hair.

    · Hair Wax A lot of the hair wax formulations use beeswax as the main ingredient. As suggested by the name, this product has a waxy texture and provides a light to strong hold for your hairstyles.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2501__
Depending on your preference, you can pick from a matte as well as a glossy finish. Hair wax, unlike hair gel, has more natural ingredients and is free from alcohol. In other words, it is less damaging than some other hair styling products and is suitable for all hair types.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2502__
    · Hair Pomade Hair pomade is relatively greasy in texture and is used to give the hair a slightly wet or glossy look.
It’s mostly used for hairstyles like slicked-back hair, but you can also use it on a daily basis to give your hair a moisturized look. It all depends on how much of the pomade you apply to your hair.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1096__
Hair pomades are also one of the oldest styling products and last longer than most other products. Because of this, it can also be damaging if you use too much of the product.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1604__
It’s one of the best products for men with curly, frizzy or dry hair.
    · Hair Serum  © Giphy
Hair serum not only nourishes the hair but also helps in styling. It’s a product with an oily texture that sits on top of your hair strands.

It provides a very light hold and its main purpose is to add shine to your hair and remove frizz and dryness.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2503__
You shouldn’t use more than a couple of drops of this product because it can make your hair look greasy.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2462__
This product is best suited for men with long hair, dry hair and curly hair.
    · Hair Gel With a gelatin-like texture, hair gels are used to set your hair in a particular style for long hours. While they make your hair look shiny and healthy, it actually hardens the hair to keep them in place.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__904__
A gel normally provides a greasy wet look, but it can also look matte if used differently. For a matte look, apply the hair gel on wet hair. Then, use a hairdryer to set your hair into a style.
For a glossy look, apply the gel on wet hair and comb through, to set it.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2504__
This product is suitable for all hair types and can make any type of hair look healthy and nourished.
    · Hair Sprays A relatively new product in the market, hair sprays are great for setting voluminous hairstyles and updos like ponytails and man buns.
A hair spray not only sets your hair but also makes it wind-proof.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1750__
It’s meant to be used as the last product on your hair to lock your style in place. After this, no matter what comes your way, your hairstyle is not going to move, even by an inch.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1567__
Hair sprays are suitable for all types of hair.
    · Hair Cream A hair cream provides a medium hold to the hair and is used to add moisture and nourishment to the hair. It adds a natural shine and smoothness to the hair.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__604__
If you have rough or damaged hair, go for a hair cream. You can also choose one based on your hair problems like dandruff, hair breakage, etc.
    3.  Hair Styling Tools  © MensXP
Lastly, we’ll discuss hair styling tools that help in giving your hair some structure.

    ·  Hair Dryer A hair dryer is a must in your grooming arsenal. No matter what the hairstyle is, using a blow dryer ensures perfection.
    · Straighteners & Curling WandsHair and beard straighteners have become extremely common for men’s styling. As the name suggests, this tool helps in straightening your hair using heat.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2505__
Other tools like curling wands and hair wavers help in adding texture, curls and waves to the hair. These tools, however, are only necessary if you have medium-length or long hair.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2490__
    · Combs & Brushes An essential part of your daily routine, combing or brushing your hair regularly is the most effective way to improve your hair health.
Not only does it help in improving blood circulation in the region, but it also helps in detangling, styling and reducing hair breakage.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__2506__
The Bottomline Taking care of your hair is extremely important, especially if you want to tackle hair loss, breakage and hair thinning.
However, this does not mean that you buy any and every product that promises that. Instead, educate yourself on the right ingredients to tackle hair loss and choose your product wisely.
We hope this guide helps you make better decisions and develop a hair care and styling routine that works best for your hair type.

Many people in India want to ‘own’ foreign breed dogs to raise as pets. Over the years, this trend has picked up and has encouraged dog breeding for commercial purposes. We have seen many volunteer groups who have been trying to make people understand that it’s better to adopt than shop for pets. Not just volunteer groups, even famous personalities have encouraged adopting stray dogs.
The latest celebrity to learn that in a rather harsh way is Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra. Abhinav Bindra is receiving flak for gifting a dog to Neeraj Chopra. Bindra gifted Chopra a golden retriever pup, named Tokyo, and also wished him luck for the next Olympics. “Was a pleasure to meet and interact with India’s golden man @neeraj_chopra1! I hope that “Tokyo” will be a supportive friend and motivate you to get a sibling named Paris for him in 2024!,” Bindra tweeted along with a picture.

People weren’t very pleased with this gesture as they felt that the dogs aren’t objects or toys. They also felt that two famous personalities were in the frame and could have used this opportunity to make people understand how important it is to adopt stray dogs.

    Here’s how they reacted:

We completely agree with these opinions as we do feel that adopting street dogs will discourage breeders who are infamous for not keeping dogs in healthy conditions.

Talking about Neeraj Chopra, he recently appeared in a Cred Ad and it showcased him in various avatars. The ad soon started to trend and people went gaga over it.

Ayappa KM, director of the commercial for credit card aggregator Cred, told Indian Express, “Neeraj was the opposite of Dravid. Sometimes he would just break down in the middle of a line laughing. He just wanted to have fun, he was chilling and having a great time.”
He also added, “Neeraj has suddenly been thrust into the spotlight at such a young age. Overnight, it’s very hard for most people to know how to react to media. If you see his interviews, his current media presence… But he was very receptive and low maintenance. There was no ego and he immersed himself into the characters.”
Here's hoping that Neeraj makes us proud once again.

Cricket fans in India and Pakistan are eagerly waiting for the calendar to turn October 24 so that they could see their national teams face off in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
The match between the two arch-rivals will be the highlight of the tournament and the anticipation around the match is growing like wildfire with each passing day.

While Indian players are busy playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) for their respective franchises ahead of the tournament, Pakistani cricketers are struggling to get game time after New Zealand and England both cancelled their tour of Pakistan within a week.

The BLACKCAPS are abandoning their tour of Pakistan following a New Zealand government security alert.

Arrangements are now being made for the team’s departure.

While New Zealand players returned home from Pakistan even before the series could start owing to serious security threats, the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also called off their tour to the Asian nation scheduled for next month.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja, who recently assumed charge as the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has had a tough start to his tenure. Unable to provide his players with game time, Ramiz Raja has taken it upon himself to keep his players motivated.

With no cricket in place, Raja has devised a new plan to boost the morale of his players ahead of the multi-nation tournament in the UAE.
He has been giving a lot of pep talks to his players as well as his fellow citizens to help them recover from the setback of dual tour cancellation.
PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja reacts to @ECB_cricket decision to withdraw their sides from next month’s tour of Pakistan pic.twitter.com/hvPqHqdBcj
    — Pakistan Cricket (@TheRealPCB) September 20, 2021
In an attempt to please his public, Raja made an outrageous claim during a media interaction, where he said that the Indian cricket team must be thankful to Pakistan because whatever success they are enjoying at the moment was made possible by stealing their idea and strategies.
Yes, you read that right! Isn’t it a serious contender for the 'Joke of the Century'? We bet it is.
During an interaction with ARY Sports, the PCB chief said: “Of late, India have adopted all good strategies of Pakistan team. And this was bound to happen as India's head coach Ravi Shastri was always impressed with Pakistan. Ours was a very hard-working and dedicated lot, we used to take players who were less talented to 100%, and we refused to give up.”
    © Reuters
“They have changed their model on similar lines, worked a lot on skill, the level of their first-class cricket has significantly improved, which has connected all the dots for them. We have to work on a lot of things in the next 3-4 years to reach there,” Raja added.

He did accept that there is no match between Indian and Pakistani teams because we are far superior in terms of both quality and quantity and it would take them 3-4 years to reach our level.
    © Reuters
While we understand his problem that he didn’t want to praise the Indian team and its players fearing an obvious backlash from his public, he would have at least saved himself from this embarrassment that he is facing right now had he thought twice before opening his mouth.

Every smartphone manufacturer might be forced to remove the charger from boxes by 2024. The new rule may come into effect as the European Commission is presenting a legislative proposal for a common charger today. The common charger would work with every electronic device including smartphones and other peripherals.
    © Unsplash/salman-majeed
According to a new report by Politico, the proposal will be discussed later this week and the European Commission plans to make it into law by 2024. The proposal also contains a clause where manufactures will have to stop including chargers inside the box of the smartphones, at least the ones sold in the European Union.

    © Unsplash/steve-johnson
Companies like Apple and Samsung have already started removing the charger from the box of the iPhone 12 Series and Galaxy S21 series onwards. Much like the legislation, both companies removed the charger to cut down on e-waste. The new legislation will impact a variety of gadgets such as smartphones, e-book readers, wireless chargers, wireless earbuds, portable speakers and anything else that requires a charger.

    © Unsplash/martin-sanchez
There’s a good chance that in the effort to reduce e-waste, Apple might be forced to ditch the Lightning charger in favour of a USB-C port. Apple has opposed the idea of replacing the Lightning port with the USB-C port but it seems like the European Commission is going ahead with its plans.

It May Not Affect India There is a good chance that if this law comes into effect, chargers will still be included in boxes of smartphones that are sold in India. This legislation will force smartphone OEMs to remove the charger from the box of their smartphones however in regions like India, a charger might still be included.
It’s also worth pointing out that the legislation has not become law yet and may require time to iron out finer details. However, we can expect more companies to drop the charger out of smartphone boxes to reduce cost and e-waste. It will be interesting to see if smartphone companies would also remove chargers from budget smartphones as those sell in higher numbers.
Would you buy a smartphone if it didn’t come with a charger? Or are you fine with the removal and would purchase the charger separately if needed? Let us know in the comments what you think.

The ‘bad man’ of Bollywood, Gulshan Grover is known for his excellent performances as a villain in multiple Hindi movies through the years.

Not many people know this but, turns out, this baddie was not just a hit with Indian cinema lovers but also managed to grab certain eyeballs in Hollywood as well.
The actor recently revealed in an interview that he was offered the role of playing a villain in a James Bond movie.
A cousin of Prince Charles’ once asked him if he would play the next James Bond villain during a meeting which the actor was attending at Clarence House in London’s St James Palace back in 2005. Gulshan Grover, eventually, was taken on board and he even signed up to play Le Chiffre, in Casino Royale.
    © BCCL
However, things didn’t pan out the way he intended them to be.

The makers probably wanted to keep the casting under wraps and an exciting conversation with his friend cost him this crucial role.
The news of him being chosen was leaked by a UK tabloid after he shared the piece of information with a reported friend, which, in return, angered the makers and he was, eventually, dropped from the role. He was later replaced by Mads Mikkelsen.

While many mainstream actors try to dabble in different variants of acting and test their nuances, Gulshan has always managed to stick to playing the bad guy with finesse.
In an interview with ET, he elaborated on why he chose to be a villain back in the ’90s:
“It is absolutely a conscious effort. After completing my education, when I entered films, I realised that I wanted to be a star. A star has a recall value. I also chose to become a villain based on what I felt while I was training under Roshan Taneja with my batchmates like Anil Kapoor and others. Another reason to become a villain was that I feel villains have a longer shelf life. Their longevity is not based on personal vanity and good looks, but on their performance. They don’t have any age bar. And also because I felt it was quite challenging. It suited me very well so I chose to play one."
While it would have been fun to watch him being chased by James Bond, he really doesn’t need to prove his mettle to anyone.
