Pankaj Tripathi’s journey to fame can easily be made into a Bollywood movie. There’s drama, rejections, and then his journey towards success. He has worked hard to achieve the status he has right now. There was a time when he made blink-and-you-miss-it appearances in films before getting prominently noticed in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur in 2012.
Cut to the present day, Pankaj Tripathi is a household name now and his honesty is reflected in his performances. Tripathi has continued to entertain the audience with different projects such as Mirzapur 2, Ludo, Extraction, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors, and Kaagaz. As we earlier mentioned that he has faced rejections, Pankaj, in an interview with TOI, has revealed that he has been replaced in many projects.

He revealed, “Oh, so many times. You are told you have been finalized till the very end, and one day, you find out you have been replaced. Of course, it hurts, but it is a part of the process. However, every project I have been replaced in has eventually flopped; trust me, I didn’t jinx them (laughs). So, in hindsight, it was for the best! Jo nahi ho sake poorn kaam, unko karta hoon main pranaam (Wishes that remain unfulfilled are probably for the best).”
As his journey has been dramatic and he has had a lot of lows, he explained how he kept going despite these low phases of his life and kept himself grounded. He doesn’t choose to see the struggle and rather overlook it with a positive perspective.
He said, “See, I don’t have a lot of sob stories. When you really want to find a place, you can do so even without Google Maps, no? I always tell men to find themselves a well-settled girl so that their home is taken care of (laughs). My wife took care of the household expenses when I was still looking for work. We were very ordinary people with limited desires, so we didn’t face any problems. Even now, no matter how much I earn today, I have to sleep on a 6X6 bed only, so what’s the point?”

He was asked if he had ever planned to quit the film industry. He said, “Acting was my last option. I had exhausted all plans; if my plan D, which was acting, had failed too, I’d have to go back to plan A, which was farming--something that I was expected to do, just like my father, if I didn’t want to become a doctor or engineer. ‘B’ was the hotel industry, and ‘C’ would be running some kind of a business.”
Now that he has become a household name, Pankaj had no idea that the future had so much for him in store. He said, “Young actors have started touching my feet now; I feel very awkward. I met army jawans recently, who told me that before going to high altitudes, they download my films to watch when there is no network and that I keep them company on long, arduous nights; I got very emotional. How could I have ever fathomed that a boy from Bihar would become a support system for a soldier posted on a glacier! It’s very humbling; sometimes I feel like this love that people bestow me with, is a debt, and I don’t know how to repay them for it. Perhaps continuing to make them laugh or think through my roles is how I’ll be able to do that.”
Well, his recent statements truly make us believe that a 'Plan E' as a motivational speaker won't be that bad for him after all. What do you guys think?

Rishabh Pant is known to be the jokester of the Indian cricket team and the stunts he pulls, in person or on the social media, are taken in good spirit by his teammates. Earlier this week, the wicket-keeper batsman decided to prey on the pacer, Mohammed Shami when he turned 31 on September 3. However, the response Pant got left the cricketer as stunned as his fans.
On Shami’s birthday, Pant decided to wish him on Twitter with a very cheeky post.
@MdShami11 bhai, ball aur umar dono tezi se nikli jaa rahi hai. Happy birthday!
    — Rishabh Pant (@RishabhPant17) September 3, 2021
“@MdShami11 bhai, ball aur umar dono tezi se nikli jaa rahi hai. Happy birthday! (@MdShami11 bro, ball and your age, both are rushing by quickly. Happy birthday!)” wrote the middle-order dynamic batter in his special birthday wish on the micro-blogging website.
While it was typical of Pant to crack such jokes, his fans and followers were taken by surprise when Mohammed Shami decided to pull the 23-year-old’s leg in return and responded with a super cheeky message of his own.
Apna time aayega beta ball or Umar ko koi nahi rook saka but motape ka treatment aaj bhi hota hai @RishabhPant17 https://t.co/AddyqeleGt
    — Mohammad Shami (@MdShami11) September 4, 2021
“Apna time aayega beta ball or Umar ko koi nahi rook saka but motape ka treatment aaj bhi hota hai @RishabhPant17 (Our time will come and nobody could stop age but there’s still treatment available for being fat even today @RishabhPant17),” Shami replied while stinging Rishabh where it would hurt him the most - the speculations about his weight.
Fans of both the cricketers were amazed to see such a banter take place online and here’s how some of them reacted:

    — ABHiJiTH (@Abhijith_Noir) September 5, 2021If it would have been anyone else in place of Rishabh Pant on the receiving end of such a comment, they would have definitely gotten hurt and responded to keep the banter going. However, the Indian southpaw is one of those rare people who can take a joke on themselves and genuinely laugh about it too.
Pant and Shami were integral parts of the Indian cricket team in the first three Test matches against England at Nottingham, London, and Leeds. However, considering the kind of grueling task it is for the pacer bowlers to play in three consecutive red-ball matches, Shami was rested for The Oval Test and was replaced by all-rounder Shardul Thakur, who has been phenomenal for the Men in Blue in both the innings, especially as a batsman.

Smartphone companies have become better at offering security updates to smartphones for at least three years but it seems like that won’t be enough. It’s a massive problem that plagues Android devices where users are often forced to buy a new smartphone every three years because their old devices don’t have the necessary security update to run apps.

However, the European Union is now taking the fight to smartphone companies and wants to force longer periods of security updates for smartphones. Now, Germany has gone a step ahead of the EU and wants seven years of updates for smartphones and spare parts. If this comes into effect, smartphone companies will be legally required to offer these services for each model they sell in Germany and possibly the EU.

This means that if you bought a smartphone in 2021, you could receive an Android 18 update under these regulations. It would also require smartphone companies to keep replacement parts for the devices. This new rule is being proposed in an effort to reduce electronic waste.
When taking other gadgets into account, seven years of updates for desktop operating systems is now a standard. While Google, Samsung and even OnePlus have set a standard of three years of security updates, Germany’s proposal goes above and beyond what the EU is hoping for.
Both the EU and the German government want to extend the life of smartphones, increase their reliability and maintainability to improve environmental conditions. This will effectively increase the life cycle of each smartphone sold in the region without having the need to purchase a new smartphone every few years.

The EU’s proposal might come into effect in 2023 and it’s worth pointing out that 40 percent of Android users are still running Android 9 Pie. In fact, no further security updates are also the main reason why Android users switch to the iPhone.

New security updates will not only help Android smartphone companies retain customers for longer, but they will also help in protecting their devices from malware and hackers. Longer security updates will prevent attackers from targeting older Android smartphones that could be open to exploits.
What do you think of Germany and the EU’s requirement of minimum security update requirements of five or seven years? Do you upgrade your smartphone as soon as the security update period runs out or would you rather use your smartphone for longer?

Rohit Sharma’s innings of 127 runs is arguably the only reason why the Indian cricket team have a sliver of hope about winning the fourth Test against England at The Oval cricket ground in London.

Moments after he had scored his first overseas Test cricket hundred ever, the cricketer had addressed an important query regarding his position in the team in the longest format of the game.
In the virtual conference that took place at the end of Day 3, the ‘Hitman’ spoke how he knew that the opening spot which was given to him back in 2019 was his final opportunity to create a permanent space for himself in this team or else there was no coming back.

“In the back of my mind, I knew this was the last chance for me (Tests), trying another position in the batting order. When the offer came to me to open the batting, I was very much aware of it because the talks were happening within the management at some stage,” Rohit said.
“I batted in middle order before and things didn't go as per the way I wanted it to and I knew this was my last opportunity to try out and you know management is thinking whatever I want to try.

“When you are playing a sport, you always have to take those chances, those risks and so I was ready for it and it didn't come to me as a surprise. It would have been my last opportunity if I wouldn't have succeeded. Anything could have happened,” he added.
Sharma added how he wanted to play as if his back was against the wall and this was the only shot that he had at representing his nation in the whites.

“That (about it being his last opportunity) was my feeling. I don't know about others because the team management told me I will have a long run. But I wanted to think in a way that this is it. I have to make good use of this opportunity and for that I have to do whatever it takes,” said Rohit.

While the Indian cricket team managed to put up a big second innings score of 466 against England at The Oval cricket ground behind Rohit Sharma’s 127-run performance, it was the captain, Virat Kohli, who was visibly frustrated with himself when he slammed a wall in the Indian dressing room after his dismissal.
Hard to see like this #viratkohli pic.twitter.com/YjUcTioTuh
    — Sai (@NaniThopella) September 5, 2021
Despite the fact that Kohli had a decent innings of 44 runs and even entered the top-5 high scorers of the innings on Day 4, it was the manner in which he ended up giving his wicket that may have caused such a reaction out of him.
For the sixth time in the seven innings he has batted in during the series, Virat Kohli lost his wicket to a ball pitching outside off which the batsman played loosely while nudging a thick edge before it landed in the hands of Craig Overton at slip.

The only difference was that this time around, Kohli got out against a spinner in Moeen Ali as opposed to pacers like James Anderson and Ollie Robinson previously.
After the cameraman caught the glimpse of Kohli showing his frustration off the field, it didn’t take long for the footage to appear online and it took even a shorter time for the viewers to turn into psychologists trying to analyse the reasons behind Kohli’s actions.
Kohli had been trying hard. Unfortunately he didn't succeed in the earlier two attempts. But the slip fielder stood well for the spinner.

The kind of pressure under which Virat Kohli has been playing is immense without a doubt. Especially when statistics like not being able to score a century in over 650 days continue to creep up and with critics breathing down his neck.
Having said that, the fact that Kohli recently became the most successful Indian captain in the longest format of the game tells the story of how underappreciated his skills remain as a leader. Even on Day 4 of the ongoing match, decisions like sending Ravindra Jadeja at the fifth spot instead of Ajinkya Rahane ended up working in favour of the Men in Blue as Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur, both looked a lot more comfortable at the pitch and scored a half-ton each.
Nonetheless, Kohli supporters and experts believe that the man is slowly inching towards retaining his form with the bat and the day isn’t far away when he will be raising his bat in the air to celebrate his 71st century.
