When Rihanna sang we found love in a hopeless place, it was a metaphor of extracting love from wherever one might find it, but it seems like some folks took the message a bit too seriously.

A bodybuilder from Kazakhstan named Yuri Tolochko was in the news a while ago after he claimed to have fallen in love with a *** doll and even married it in 2020.

The 36-year-old bodybuilder has now, reportedly, split with the love of his life and has actually found love in something more unique.

He was at a nightclub when his eyes fell on an ashtray and well, it was love at first sight for him.

Explaining his bizarre obsession with the ashtray, he shared his love story with the viewers.

“This is a big ashtray in a smoking room in a club. At first, I just arranged a photoshoot with it. But then it began to attract me. I wanted to touch it again, smell it. I love its brutal scent, the touch of metal on my skin. It’s really brutal. I also like that it has a story, that it’s not new, that it has served many people and continues to serve them. A couple of days ago, I was allowed to be alone with it (during its off-hours). I really liked it. I want to ask them to give it to me sometimes at night. It will look great in my harem (my babies will be happy). Lola and Luna will support it. However, I don’t want to buy a new ashtray or that they give it to me forever. I want it to continue to work, to benefit people. I love this story. I can also insert an artificial vagina in the tube into the hole. What do you think about it? And how will they let me be it boyfriend?” he quipped.

The man identifies himself as a pansexual and thus, his love is not limited to only other human beings.

However, as per some reports, his spilt with his ***-doll wife stand legal and hence, it will be a while before he could break up and continue his new relationship with this ashtray.
In Kazakhstan, the only requirement for a wedding is usually to take the consent of both parties who are over 18-years-old.

While the five-Test series between India and England is well-poised at the moment, the Indian batting unit has looked abysmal throughout this series.

More than England bowlers dishing out unplayable deliveries, the Indian batters have been walking towards their own downfall with their poor shot selections, getting out in a similar fashion again and again.
In England where conditions are conducive for fast bowlers, Indian players have gifted their wickets reaching out for deliveries outside off stump, which they should have left.
    © Reuters
As much as it is about the mindset, the frailties in the technique of Indian batsmen against swinging deliveries has been exposed by English bowlers, who have attacked the fifth-sixth stump line on a consistent basis and reaped rewards.

To explain what’s missing, there can’t be anyone better than the batting legend Sunil Gavaskar, who scored tons of runs against some of the most lethal fast bowlers of all time, without any protective gear.
    © Reuters
According to him, the biggest mistake the Indian batsmen are making is committing themselves too much on the front foot, which is making it difficult for them to leave the out-swinging deliveries.

“You see the length that is being bowled and see where the batsmen are playing. They are so far committed to the front foot, it's very difficult for them to drop their bats. They just tend to sort of go for it. If you're on the backfoot just that little bit, you have that nano second to drop your wrists and let the ball go,” Gavaskar said on Sony Sports Network on Day 1.
    © Reuters
Gavaskar feels batsmen these days don’t have enough patience and they look to score runs at a rapid pace, even in Test cricket, which is causing their downfall. He was particularly not happy with the way Pujara got out, committing himself on the front foot and becoming susceptible to an outside edge.

He added that he would prefer batsmen “looking like an idiot” than throwing away their wicket trying to be over-aggressive and this is something Indian batters would have to correct before it’s too late.
    © Reuters
“You may look like an idiot but you'd still be batting. Whether you look like an idiot or look great, doesn't go down in the scorebooks. It's the number of runs you score. When you follow the ball like Pujara has been doing - he is committed to the front foot - you get yourself into trouble," he elaborated.

India have not won a Test series in England since 2007 and who knows, Gavaskar’s strange advice could help the visitors end this drought.

Male Pattern Baldness is one of the trickiest things about grooming and personal care that most men face in today’s day and age. The sad truth is, nearly half of all men, irrespective of their age or how well they take care of themselves, will face some sort of balding.

    © Facebook/SaifAliKhan
Nearly all men will face increasingly rapid hair fall as they grow older. So is there anything that men can do to protect their hair? Is there a way to prevent hair loss or balding in men?

Well, yes & no. For some men, their hair loss may be a result of the lifestyle they lead, but mostly, men have to deal with male pattern baldness, because of their genes.
There are multiple ways through which you can tackle this issue and slow down hair fall, and hair loss. Or simply, you can own it up like a boss. Either way, here are a few key things about hair loss & hair fall, and male pattern baldness that all men should know about.
What Is Male Pattern Baldness? © iStock
Simply put, MPB or Male Pattern Baldness is the most common type of hair loss that occurs in men. Because the balding follows a certain pattern, that is it will start in certain areas of the scalp before it proceeds to the other areas, hence it has the name Male Pattern Baldness.

Some hair loss & hair fall, on the other hand, is completely natural and is actually a part of the hair production and scalp maintenance systems of your body. Sometimes, you may experience an increase in hair fall, because of the environment - increased humidity, increased dust, increased exposure to sunlight - all of these have been known to cause some hair loss. This is completely different from balding, and especially, Male Pattern Balding.
There’s no cure for hair loss that stems from MPB. However, there are ways to cover it up, and some medicated treatments that slow down the progression of balding.
Early Signs Of Balding © iStock
You won’t develop a bald patch overnight or in a single day, it is a slow and gradual process. There are many signs that you’ll get before your scalp starts shedding hair to such an extent where a bald patch is inevitable.

Luckily, this also means that you get some time to get some treatment or help and slow balding down. These are the signs that you need to look out for:
    1. Increasing Hair On The Comb And The PillowLosing some strands of hair is only natural. However, if you start seeing an increasing amount of hair on your pillowcase after you’ve woken up in the morning, or are seeing more of your hair on your comb, chances are that you’ve just started balding.
    2. Your Hair Starts To Feel ThinnerIt is usually a good habit to brush your hair with your hands or simply run your fingers through your hair every now and then. That way you’re giving your hair and scalp a quick check, and let’s face it, it feels good. If in case you feel that you’re dealing with slightly lesser volume of hair, or feel that your hair is thinner or isn’t as handful as it used to be, chances are that you’ve started balding.
    3. You Start Finding Hair In Odd PlacesFrom your laptop, to your kitchen sink, your washing machine or even a table near which you like to read, if you find your hair in the most random of places, then you’ve started shedding your hair. Finding one or two strands of hair on your clothes, especially your shirts is fine, but if you’re finding more than that, these may be signs of trouble.
    4. Your Scalp Starts To Poke Out Of Your Hair More OftenIf your scalp is more visible when you’re styling or combing your hair, it means that your hair has lost volume. This is a clear indication of increased hair loss, and can actually mean that you’ve started balding.
    Causes Of Balding © iStock
There are multiple reasons why your scalp may be shedding hair. It can be just regular hair fall or, you may indeed be balding. A marginal increase in hair fall may be caused by a change in weather or some dietary fluctuations.

Balding on the other hand is caused by the following:
    1. Your GenesThe first and foremost reason why you may be balding lies with your genes. If because of your genes you are susceptible to alopecia, which causes male pattern baldness, you are most likely to experience some level of baldness. Most men carry the genetic components that make balding and even male pattern baldness hereditary. There’s really no cure for this situation, in which your baldness is caused by your genes. But you can surely slow things down by taking good care of yourself and not exasperating the situation.
    2. Hormonal ChangesThere are many reasons why one may be going through a hormonal change. More often than not, a significant change in your hormones is accompanied by excessive hair fall and ultimately, balding. You may want to consult a doctor to get to the roots of your issue and then make some changes in your lifestyle to keep your hormones in balance.
    3. Excessive Smoking & DrinkingSmoking anyway is bad for your health. It has an adverse effect on your scalp in a number of ways. Apart from disturbing the pH balance of your scalp, excessive smoking also causes several vital cells under the scalp to wither away and die. This directly causes your hair to grow grey, and then ultimately, fall off. The same goes for excessive alcohol intake. That too changes the chemistry of your blood for a time that is long enough to damage the sensitive parts of the skin directly under your scalp and lead to hair fall.
    4. Not Getting Enough SleepAdequate and proper sleep is something that most people tend to ignore. Men older than 16 years of age should be sleeping for at least 7 hours a night. However, given our lifestyles that is easier said than done. Not getting enough sleep has the greatest impact on your scalp and skin, which simply do not get the time to rejuvenate, and regenerate. As a result, you end up with an unhealthy scalp which only fastens up the balding process.
    5. Ignoring Your Micronutrient RequirementsAnother aspect that most men simply do not find the time to indulge in is to keep an eye on what they eat, specifically, whether or not they are getting enough of their micronutrients. Until they are faced with some major health hiccups most men do not even think of taking micronutrient supplements. Analyse your diet and check if you’re getting enough zinc, iron, your essential amino acids etc. and adapt. Consult a dietitian if you need to.
    6. Ignoring Scalp HygieneMost of us assume that we have a great and healthy scalp. Oh, how are we mistaken! Just shampooing or massaging your hair with oil once a week does not guarantee that your scalp is healthy. You need to ensure that the oil, shampoo and conditioner that you use, suit your hair and scalp, and do not irritate them. You also need to ensure that you keep your scalp dry and airy as much as you can. Whenever your hair gets wet, dry it as gently as you can. You should also be getting your scalp checked regularly by a dermatologist, to see if there are any issues or not.
How To Tell If You’re Balding? © iStock
We have already seen what are some of the early signs of balding. Because excessive hair loss and hair fall also have the same signs, it can be very easy to get them confused with balding. As a result, men either get into some sort of panic or completely ignore it.

Both of these reactions aren’t ideal. So make sure you keep an eye out for these symptoms that indicate that you may indeed be balding.
    1. A Receding HairlineIf you see that your hairline has started to recede, especially towards the sides of your temples, you have started balding. This would be the time to find out why exactly are you balding, and what changes you need to make to your lifestyle, or if you need to go on for treatment.
    2. Developing A Widow’s PeakYou may start losing hair in such a way that you get a widow’s peak, i.e. your hairline takes the shape of the alphabet ‘M.’ This is again a sign of balding, and you need to figure out what should be your course of action.
    3. Discovering A Bald SpotIt is always a good idea to inspect the top of your head every month or so, just to check for bald spots, or hair starting to thin out. If you feel that the hair on top of your head or the crown is not as dense as it used to be, or it feels that this area has finer hair all of a sudden, it is time for you to consult a dermatologist.
    4. Losing Hair In BunchesThe telltale sign of balding is when you see your hair falling off in bunches instead of strands. Check your bed, and especially your pillow just to gauge how much hair you are losing. If for some reason there is a sudden increase in the hair that you find on your pillowcase, take it as a sign of concern.
    5. Losing Hair VolumeIf for some reason you feel that your hair has lost volume, and it starts feeling lighter and less dense, you are at the very initial stages of balding. This would be the time to find out why exactly you are losing more hair than what you’re growing.

If indeed you’re balding, there are a few things that you can do to slow down the progression of balding. Only in rare cases can you reverse balding. Here are some over the counter medicines and shampoos that you can try out. Do keep in mind that it is always a good idea to go for these as soon as you suspect that you are going through male pattern baldness.

    1. MinoxidilOne of the easiest ways to deal with any sort of balding is to go for Minoxidil. It works for most men, and it is advised that you start using this as soon as you spot signs of balding when you’re under 40. Do keep in mind that you will have to rely on this for as long as you want to have a good head of hair.
    2. Finasteride or PropeciaPropecia is the most commonly used medicine to treat balding. Stronger formulations may need a prescription but most of the time it is fairly easy to get your hands on a good solution. It is actually a good idea to use Propecia & Minoxidil in tandem.
    3. KetoconazoleIf you’ve been told to use a shampoo that deals with hair loss and balding, then you have been referred to as a ketoconazole shampoo. This is the easiest route to go for when you’re looking for medicated solutions for balding.

Now, if you don’t want to go for medicated solutions, there are some other remedies that you can go for in order to deal with balding.

    1. Jojoba OilThis is a great solution if your balding is the result of a dry scalp. It moisturises the scalp and rejuvenates the hair follicles. It also helps hair cells reproduce faster. Just warm up the oil a little, and massage it into the scalp, focusing on the hair roots.
    2. Aloe VeraAloe vera sap is a great way to soothe and rejuvenate the damaged scalp. This helps the hair cells to replenish. It also cleans up excess oil and sebum that ultimately facilitates hair growth.
    3. Garlic Infused Mustard OilGarlic contains a lot of minerals and vitamins that is very conducive to hair growth. Simply heat up some mustard oil with a few cloves of crushed garlic, and massage it onto your scalp.
    4. EggsEggs are a great resource of keratin and work really well to slow down balding. If you’re losing hair due to bad scalp health, this is the way to go, as it rejuvenates the hair follicles. Simply mix up some oil and one egg, and make a mask out of it. Apply this mask on your hair and scalp, and let it sit for 10-15 mins. Use a mild shampoo to wash it off and you’re good to go.
    5. Apple Cider VinegarAnother solution for balding that is caused by dry or damaged scalp, is to use apple cider vinegar. It helps in cleaning up the scalp in a really nice manner, getting rid of excess sebum and oil, and cleans up the clogged hair follicles.
    6. Lifestyle ChangesWell, these aren’t remedies as such, but making a few lifestyle changes have also proven to work really well when dealing with balding, especially Male Pattern Baldness. Cut down on your smoking, or better yet, just quit. Also drink in moderation. Have a proper sleep schedule and stick to it. Finally, no matter how busy your schedule is, always have a balanced meal that covers all your micronutrients.
Some Common Questions & Myths Around Balding That Men Have1. Is thinning hair a sign of balding?Well, not necessarily. As humans age, they tend to lose some hair. So a person in his 40s may have thinner hair as compared to his 20s. Hair thinning out over time is also a result of the slowing down of the body’s hair regeneration process. As long as your body regenerates more hair than it loses, and in a faster manner, you’re not going to go bald.
    2. Only old men go bald. For most men balding is a function of genetics. However, thanks to our current lifestyles, the situation does get exasperated a bit. As a result, a few unlucky souls may start experiencing excessive hair loss and ultimately balding in their early 20s even. A few genetic conditions may even result in balding even in teens.
    3. Does tying your hair in a bun or ponytail reduce the risk of balding?Tying your hair up too tightly causes the hair roots or the follicles to go through strain, and eventually weakens them. This leads to more hair follicles getting damaged and dying. Continuously keeping your hair tied up or in a bun, will lead to hair loss, and eventually, will lead to balding.
    4. Does wearing a hat to protect against the elements reduce the chances of going bald? No, on the contrary, it actually hastens up the process. If you wear a cap or a helmet for prolonged periods of time and have to deal with extreme temperatures, you will start to lose your hair to balding very soon.
    5. I don’t have any bald men in my family, so I won’t go bald, right?Again, it isn’t necessarily so. Just because your parents have always had a good head of hair, doesn’t mean everyone in your family does. Also genetics work in a very weird way at times. Sometimes, the genes that lead to male pattern baldness may lie dormant in a generation before going into a hyperactive mode in the next.
Hairstyles For When You Start BaldingNow, when men first start balding, they think that all of a sudden one morning after they have woken up, they will discover that they lost all of their hair. That is not the case. All sorts of balding, including male pattern baldness, progress in a certain way.

This means you don’t have to worry about a wig or shaving your head right when you start going bald. Instead, pick your hairstyle in a way that helps cover up the fact that you’re going bald. And trust us, there are actually a number of great hairstyles to go for when they make you look supremely stylish.

    1. Buzz Cut © Eros International
As counterintuitive as it may seem, a really well-done buzz cut that has neat edges looks really sharp on all men, especially if they have a chiselled jawline. You seriously can’t go wrong with this one.

    2. Short Spikes With Fringes © Instagram/aalimhakim
This is more of a funky hairstyle but man oh man, it looks so good and in vogue. You do need to spend some time styling it daily, but it is fairly easy to go for.

    3. A Crew Cut © Instagram/mahi7781
A crew cut where you take the hair off from the side of your head is a classic hairstyle and one that suits everyone. Plus, depending on how long or short you keep the hair on top of your head, the look changes completely. From Carol Shelby in peaky blinders to MS Dhoni in the picture above you seriously get a very wide range of hairstyles, depending on how you wish to experiment.

    4. A Quiff © Viral Bhayani
This is the way to go if you are experiencing male pattern baldness and want to go for a hairstyle that is slightly conservative, and low-maintenance. It’s very easy to recreate this style does not take too much of your time, and suits all face shapes.

    5. Short Textured Hair With A Side Parting © Viral Bhayani
This one is more suited for people who have lean and sharper faces. This haircut is cut close to the head, it looks full and also the hair on top sure stands out. It creates an illusion of a fuller head.

If you want a hairstyle that is a bit conventional but looks extremely cool, this is the hairstyle that you should go for. It is pretty easy to style and maintain.

Covering A Bald SpotThere are a few products that actually help you cover up a bald spot. Should you use them? Well, it depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put in daily to style and maintain your hair because most of these products do take up time. But yes, if you go for quality products, they sure are worth the time.

    1. Hair-Filling Or Hair Fibre SpraysVery basically, think of these as hair-in-can solutions. These fibres are made of keratin and look just like your hair. It can be a little tricky to deal with at times, especially if you have hair that isn’t jet black. But, this makes styling your hair much easier. Do keep in mind that this isn’t going to be a permanent solution. Also, using it daily may not be feasible for a lot of people.
    2. Styling PowdersWell, this doesn’t add any volume to your hair. However, it does add a nice texture to it, and makes it easier to style your hair in a way that hides your bald spot. Do keep in mind that this is a bit time consuming as you have to make sure that the powder has been worked in your hair thoroughly. It sure does make styling your hair a lot easier.
    3. Styling Cream/LotionThese are usually lighter than your styling powders and are meant for people who have naturally thin hair strands and need something lighter. It is better suited if your hair tends to grow in waves or in a curly manner. Unlike hair gels, they don’t dry your hair out and make them brittle.
The Big Question: Should I Shave My Head If I am Going Bald? © Instagram/therockorg
Finally, the question that every guy who’s starting to go bald usually asks himself is whether they should shave their heads and if yes, then when. Well, it really comes down to your personal preferences. If you have the confidence of rocking a clean-shaven head like Dwayne does here, and if you can grow a salt & pepper beard, then you’re all sorted.

However, don’t go shaving your head off if you’ve just started to go bald. Try out a few things that can slow down the progression of balding, especially if you’re still in your 30s. If you’re in your 40s, there are several hairstyles that you can go for that can actually go for.
But as we said, it all comes down to your personal preferences. If you think that Dwayne looks supremely cool in the photo above, you’re not the only one.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had once called late actor Sidharth Shukla‘shareef’ after he danced with his on-screen daughter, Sana Saeed.
In 2013, SRK appeared on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6, where Sidharth Shukla was also a participant.

A video from the show has now surfaced on the internet in which SRK teased Sidharth while he interacted with Sana Saeed, who played the role of his daughter in the 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
In the video, SRK went on the stage after she performed with Sidharth and separated both of them and looked at them with surprise.
After hugging Sana on stage, he told Sidharth, "Tum shareef ho maine note karliya hai. Tumne zada mere saamne toh badtameezi nahi ki (You are a gentleman that I have noted. You have not resorted to any insolent behaviour in front of me)."
Sidharth bowed in front of SRK and acknowledged the compliment. He also participated in the show but was eliminated in the 11th week.
Sidharth Shukla passed away on Thursday at the age of 40 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Sidharth Shukla's untimely demise yesterday has left all of us in shock. And if the news of Shehnaaz Gill breaking down after his death wasn't heartbreaking enough, the media has clearly made matters even worse for her. All of his family members and girlfriend Shehnaaz Gill had reached the crematorium to conduct Sidharth's last rites today. Losing a loved one is not easy and when you are a popular personality, the media makes it even harder for you to mourn the passing of a close one.
The visuals of Shehnaaz heading to the Oshiwara crematorium are heartbreaking and it’s sick to see cameramen shoving their cameras right in her face and mobbing her.
    View this post on Instagram
Grief is more often than not an extremely personal expression and media personnel pestering her with questions like how she's coping with it is utterly insensitive. Let alone grieving, electronic media is not even letting her have some solitude in such testing times.
Yesterday, news channels started running the story of Sidharth’s untimely demise in ways unimaginable and today, we see cameramen making it impossible for Shehnaaz to even breathe as she gets down from her car. All because they want a quote from her to run on their channels in order to churn TRPs.
    Hungry Vultures.

    Pls leave her alone..pls...

It's really heartbreaking to see this happening to someone at what could be one of the lowest phases of their life. We hope all the media personnel let Shehnaaz be with Sidharth on his last journey but unfortunately, it seems like Indian media has sold its soul to get TRPs.

What is the easiest way to find a partner when you think you are finally ready to get hitched?
Some would say signing up on matrimonial sites helps or asking your friends and family to find you a match is the best way or maybe, go to a marriage broker. However, a man in Kerala took matters into his own hands and it worked so well that we think his way is genius.
    © iStock
Unnikrishnan, a 33-year-old shopkeeper in Vallachira district of Kerala, put up a matrimonial ad for himself outside his shop to find himself a partner because he didn’t want anyone else to meddle (which we totally get, BTW).

Talking about this out-of-the-box way to get a match, he said, “I used to be a daily wage worker. I also underwent surgery following a tumour in my skull. As I recovered fully after the surgery, I thought of settling in life," he was quoted by the New Indian Express.
    © Twitter/The New Indian Express
“This led me to open a lottery shop near my home in February. After some days, I set up a tea shack, which too is getting better these days. Now, all I want is a life partner, but I don't want to go through the traditional style of approaching a broker, waiting to get matching horoscope etc,” he added.

So, he decided to put up a signboard instead. “My friends and family members had already searched on my behalf, but no match happened. Thus, I thought of hanging a signboard in front of my tea shack,” he said.
    © iStock
His friend shared his picture with the signboard on social media and it went viral. What came next was his phone started blowing up with calls from people who were intrigued and extended him a marriage proposal.

Interestingly, he even got calls from Australia and England. “I got phone calls from Malayalis living in far off countries,” he told a leading daily.
    © iStock
He even got some calls from people who appreciated him for his ‘no caste or religion’ rule, while others simply rang him up to wish him all the luck in finding a partner.

Funnily, some contacted him to find a match for them and were willing to share their details with him, but he refused.
    © iStock
This seems like a brilliant move to find a partner yourself without any relatives or brokers meddling.

It’s great that he got numerous calls from interested people while we can’t even find a match on Tinder, with a full-blown profile. Maybe we should try this signboard thing, too.

The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is my favourite phone of the year so far. I can end the review right here and call it a day but it is worth talking about the most exciting phone that will launch this year. The clamshell foldable smartphone is all set to go mainstream, thanks to its slightly affordable price and practicality. As smartphones keep getting boring each year, Samsung has managed to deliver a smartphone that may give us a glimpse of the future. After spending three weeks with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, here’s why I think it is the most exciting smartphone of the year.
Design The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is by far the most practical phone to use and it’s all thanks to its foldable design. You can fold it up and slip it into your breast pocket and unfold the screen to get a normal smartphone experience. There’s even an outer display that shows you notifications, weather updates, time, voice recording and other features. This essentially removes the need of unfolding the main display for checking non-priority notifications.
    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The folding design is all thanks to its vertical hinge which Samsung claims can flip open 2 lakh times. I’ve used the smartphone for almost everything and found the hinge to be very durable. In fact, I never felt as if any of the two sides would snap off any minute. I regularly opened and closed the smartphone much like any flip phone and did not notice it getting loose either. The hinge also protects the foldable display from any dust or debris which shows that Samsung has learned from its previous mistakes as well.

    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
I do have to say that I never got tired of unfolding the phone and thoroughly enjoyed using it each time. I even prefer the form factor of the phone as it easily fits in your palm and doesn’t really feel uncomfortable to use. I could also easily use most of the unfolded display with one hand. It reminds me of how I used to interact with flip phones from the 2000s and I got the same nostalgic feeling every time I used this phone.

Other notable design features include an embedded fingerprint sensor on the power button. Because of the narrower design, your right thumb sits naturally on the power button and the fingerprint scanner. You can easily unlock the smartphone without moving your thumb.
Display When it comes to the display, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 measures 6.7-inches and has a resolution of 2640 x 1080 pixels. The AMOLED display also has a refresh rate of 120Hz and supports HDR10+ content. When using the smartphone to play games or viewing video content, I felt right at home. By that, I mean that I never missed using my OnePlus 9 Pro or any other phone for that matter.

Since it is a foldable display, you can notice the crease when seeing content with white or bright backgrounds. However, the crease is barely noticeable even from up close when using it as a smartphone. The crease is only noticeable from acute angles and doesn’t really hamper the overall experience. After a week, I didn’t even take notice of the crease which is something you will also get used to after a while.

Just because it is a foldable display, it doesn’t mean Samsung used an inferior panel for this phone. Much like most Samsung flagship phones, the display is fantastic with colour accuracy, vibrancy and calibration. I expect the best displays from Samsung and I’m happy to let you know that the company has carried their legacy forward with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 as well.
    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
I do have to say that it took me time to get used to the phone’s 21.9:9 aspect ratio, however with time you start to appreciate it as well. Due to its narrower design, the smartphone is easier to operate for actions such as texting, web browsing and sending emails. The only time you might find it awkward is when you’re trying to watch video content. Having said that, I got used to that with time as well.

There’s also an additional 1.1-inch display on the outer shell of the smartphone that you can use for various purposes. Apart from checking notifications and weather, you can also use it as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the main sensor. This is a recurring feature from previous iterations as well, however this time around the larger screen helps a lot more in better framing.
Performance and Battery Life The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is powered by the best hardware Android smartphones can get in 2021. Even in India, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 uses a Snapdragon 888 chipset that has been coupled with 8GB of RAM. In almost every scenario, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 performed as well as any Snapdragon 888 Chipset that has launched this year. Even with 8GB of RAM, I did not notice any app crashes or throttling of any kind.
I did notice some overheating, especially on the upper half of the foldable display when trying to play games. When playing Dead Cells, I did not notice any frame rate drops and in fact, it took full advantage of the 120Hz refresh rate as well.
However, this was also when the device got the warmest which could be a cause for concern if you like to game a lot on your smartphone. On Geekbench 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 scored an impressive 2,984 in multicore which is at par if not better than 2021 flagship phones.
The one drawback you will face with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the battery life. Since it has a 3,300 mAh, the phone doesn’t last as long as other smartphones. With moderate usage, the phone would last about 7 hours in total which is quite troublesome. The Z Flip 3 also does not support any form of fast charging as it only draws 15W when using a wired PD charger. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 also supports wireless charging but even that is capped at 10W.
Cameras The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is outfitted with a 12MP (f/1.8) wide-angle shooter and a 12MP (f/2.2) ultrawide lens. The phone even has a 10MP front-facing camera as a punch-hole sensor in the display. Samsung opted not to include a telephoto sensor on this device which is slightly disappointing.
    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
However, using the main sensor on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was as good as using it on the Galaxy S21. Some of the images look absolutely stunning while there were times when some of the images had oversaturated colours. There were times when colours looked slightly washed out and there were times when it captured colours with accuracy. The overall camera performance on the Z Flip 3 can be very inconsistent which may not be ideal for photography enthusiasts.

Having said that, the camera on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is still better than that on most Android smartphones from 2021. I just wish Samsung didn’t oversaturate colours and use face smoothening effects for selfies.
If you want to see some camera samples from the Galaxy Z Flip 3, have a look at the gallery below:
The Final Say The Galaxy Z Flip 3 is my favourite smartphone of the year so far for being different, innovative and practical. Even with its shortcomings such as its short battery life, I will still personally purchase this smartphone. At a slightly affordable price, you can get the novelty of owning a practical foldable smartphone. If you want to stand out from the rest and have new tech in your pocket at the same time, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is the perfect starting point.

The world of skincare is perplexing. It is almost like there is a fresh new skincare invention popping up everyday that claims to make your skin better than yesterday. There are millions of skincare products, half of which you don’t even know about and the rest half you are not sure how to use and what they do. However, the basic skincare essentials like cleanser, moisturiser, face scrubs and body scrubs should be in everyone’s (man or woman) bathroom shelf.
These products are just part of your basic skincare routine which is CTM (cleansing, toning, moisturising) and exfoliation. While cleansing with a face wash or soap helps remove impurities, sweat and dust, body scrubs, or scrubs in general, provide a better and deeper cleaning of the skin. A body scrub benefits skin by thoroughly cleansing it off deep-rooted dirt particles and oil and leaves it squeaky clean.

In case you are clueless about this skincare hero or wondering if you should invest in one, we are here to give you a glimpse on how they work and benefit your skin. For starters, yes, it is an important addition in the skincare regime for men as much as for the women. For men on-the-go, a body scrub is an absolute must to get rid of deep settled sweat, oil and pollutants that get accumulated into the skin while you are out and about.

So, let’s get into the know-how of body scrubs. Here is everything you need to know about these super cleansing exfoliators before you buy one.
    © iStock
What Exactly Is A Body Scrub?Simply put, it’s a skin exfoliator. There are two types of exfoliants: mechanical and chemical. While the mechanical exfoliants work physically on your skin, chemical exfoliants like chemical peels use skin acids and enzymes to exfoliate. Body scrubs are mechanical exfoliants which means they need to be rubbed on skin manually to cleanse. It often contains ingredients with tiny granules or beads like sugar or salt that help with the better scrubbing of skin. Body scrubs prove to be a healthier and much safer option for sensitive skin since they are free of string chemicals and are natural with almost no side effects.

Body scrubs are a part of body care treatment which are used to exfoliate your hands, arms, shoulders, back, legs and feet. For your face, you get a separate scrub called face scrub since the skin on your face is relatively more gentle than the rest of your body. They could be in a gel form or creamy or powdery texture and could be oil-based or water based. You need to slather a small amount over your skin to reap the benefits. You don’t need a skin expert or derma for it, unlike chemical peels. You can DIY it conveniently at home.

How Does Body Scrub Help? © iStock
Body scrub benefits skin in more ways than one. It unlocks smoother and brighter skin by scraping off dirt, sweat, oil and deep settled impurities. If you are someone who has oily skin or sweats profusely in hot and humid climates, using body scrubs every alternate day during bath or even on a weekly basis can help curb body odour and grim and oily skin. Apart from this, they help remove dead skin cells and rejuvenate and refresh skin.

Another benefit of a body scrub is that it prevents body bumps and clears pores from within which are prime culprits for acne. If you experience acne on your body (back, butt or chest are the most common), a body scrub might be the solution to all your skin woes.

Plus, body scrubs have a combination of moisturising and cleansing ingredients which makes it a must-have skincare product all year round. At any given day, it will provide extra benefits than a soap or moisturizer alone can. Body scrub penetrates deeper into the skin and hydrates it from within. It is thus needed to make the most out of your skincare routine in all seasons. While it helps cleansing body sweat and oil in summers, it provides extra hydration and curbs dullness experienced in winters.

Types Of Body Scrubs © iStock
Beauty world is no stranger to body scrubs and thus they come in all shapes, sizes, formulations and textures. You could opt for natural body scrubs that you can DIY at home or get one for yourself from the many options in the market. The right kind of body scrub can lift up your mood, make your skin look and feel good and also help you with better personal hygiene.

    1. Homemade Body ScrubsYou can whip up a homemade body scrub with the ingredients that fit the requirements of your skin. Some most common natural ingredients for body scrubs are oatmeal, coconut, sugar, sea salt, banana, honey, yogurt and coffee. You can find these easily in your kitchen or pantry and use a combination of them as your DIY body scrub.

    2. Store Bought Body ScrubsThere are umpteen options of body scrubs in the market as well if you don’t have the time to DIY. You can pick from various body scrubs like herbal, vegan, detox, salt based, sugar based and more from the shelf offered by brands. The options are endless. You can choose the body scrub according to your skin type and needs. The crux is that it should serve its purpose, which is leaving your skin smooth, hydrated and squeaky clean.
How To Pick A Body Scrub For Your Skin Type © iStock
Make sure you use a body scrub that suits your skin and doesn’t add up to your existing skin problems. People blessed with normal skin don’t have a problem and can go for any scrub so they like. However, if you are dealing with a particular skin problem like dull skin or acne, pick the one that targets the issue and improves the health of your skin. As far as choosing a body scrub for particular your skin type, here is how you get one according to your skin.

    1. Dry Skin If you have parched and extremely dry skin, use a body scrub with hydrating skincare heroes like natural oils and moisturising ingredients that leave your skin moisturised and soft after its use.
    2. Oily SkinFor people with oily skin, get a body scrub that is non-comedogenic so it doesn’t clog your pores and is made with oil-zapping ingredients that also prevent acne like coffee, salicylic acid and more.
    3. Sensitive SkinIf your skin type is sensitive, you have to be extra careful while picking a body scrub. Get one that doesn’t have harsh chemicals or granules that might end up harming your skin. Also, use it on your arm first to ensure it doesn’t itch and suits you well.
Dos & Don’ts Of Using Body Scrubs © iStock
Once you’ve zeroed down on the body scrub you want according to your skin type, its needs and issues, you need to know how to use it the right way for maximum benefits and make the most out of it. Here is how you should use a body scrub for healthy and smooth skin.

When & How Much To Use Always use it on damp, cleansed skin. The best time to use a body scrub is while taking a shower. However, you need to use your soap or body wash to clean excess dirt and impurities off before exfoliating. After you’ve cleansed your body, take a dollop of body scrub in your hand and use it on your arms, legs, chest and back. Just like you use face scrub after using your face wash, a body scrub is also meant to be used after you have cleansed the skin on your body with soap.
    © iStock
The Right Way To Use On the damp skin, rub the body scrub gently with your fingers in a circular motion.’Gently’ is the key word here. Since body scrubs have a grainy texture, rubbing them too harshly can harm your skin. Be very careful to not put excess pressure on the skin or you’ll end up with redness, scratches and even skin irritation. Scrub your skin with the product for around 20-30 seconds (not more than that) and rinse with warm water. You can also use an exfoliating glove to reach places you can’t with your hands like your back. Moisturise after patting it dry.
    © iStock
How Often Should You Use A Body Scrub? This is one of the most frequently asked questions about body scrubs. They are definitely not supposed to be used everyday since your skin needs exfoliation only a few times a week and overuse of it can do more harm than good. Using it once or twice a week is enough for most skin types but if you feel grimy or sweaty more often, you can use it thrice a week or every alternate day for refreshed and rejuvenated skin.

To sum it up, a body scrub is an essential body care product that deserves a spot on your bathroom shelf. So, investing in one that’s good for your skin and makes it look and feel healthier than ever.

Growing a beard can be the easiest thing for some, and the hardest for others. While all you need to do to grow a beard is virtually nothing, for the ones who struggle with beard growth, it can be an arduous challenge.
Let us make it easier for you by breaking down the process and elaborating on how to facilitate faster beard growth, and the science behind it.
    © iStock
Before we begin, though, let us get one thing absolutely clear: no matter what you do, expecting dramatic beard growth if your genetics isn't on board, will set you up for disappointment. Sometimes, there just aren't enough hair follicles on your face, and there's nothing you can do about this, except perhaps blaming your parents and their parents.

However, for others who are not as unfortunate, there are things that can be done to make sure they get decent beard growth. Here are a few of them:
    1. Be patient © iStock
This may not sound very helpful, but trust us, more often than not, the lack of patience is the real reason behind the lack of a beard when it comes to some people. Everyone has different beard growth rates, and not everyone is blessed with fast beard growth. Beard grows patchy or uneven for a few weeks, and bam, the impatience makes them get rid of it because it wasn't 'growing properly'.

There are some baseless theories that suggest one can have a full beard within 3-4 weeks, and some that suggest it shouldn't take more than 2 months to grow a full beard. Please don't believe any of them. All beards are different and some just take their own sweet time. Just bear with the patchiness and uneven growth for a while, give it time, and you shall see your face bear(d) the fruit of that patience!
    2. Focus on your nutrition © iStock
Applying the fanciest of lotions and potions is not going to help you, if your diet is poor and non-nutritious. Now, a good diet will not override genetics, but if we put that aside, it will definitely make your beard grow faster, and make it healthier and shinier. In order to have fast beard growth, one needs to have plenty of protein, foods high in iron and zinc, as well as whole grains and healthy fats. Vitamins A, B, C, D, and E also help, and they can be found in fruits and vegetables.

    3. Exercise © iStock
You should exercise anyway to get healthier, but it has a substantial role to play in beard growth as well. Exercising facilitates healthy blood flow, and circulation helps stimulate hair follicle growth. Also, resistance training may temporarily boost testosterone, which helps in hair and beard growth. Exercising will also prevent chances of obesity, which is a contributing factor behind low testosterone.

    4. Quit Smoking © iStock
Smoking impacts blood circulation in the body, and therefore decreases capillary blood flow to the hair root. As a result, the cells are denied optimum conditions that facilitate beard growth. In other words, smoking causes degeneration that is similar to ageing. Hence, for better, optimum, and faster beard growth, one must consider quitting smoking.

    5. Sleep © iStock
Sleeping is of paramount importance when it comes to faster beard growth. Sleeping boosts testosterone, and also recovery of your system. In fact, the testosterone in the system is primarily released during sleep, without which beard growth will definitely be stunted.

    6. Washing and Moisturizing © iStock
Washing and moisturizing your beard may not directly facilitate faster growth, but will definitely help in an indirect manner. Washing your beard thoroughly will ensure the removal of debris and dry skin on your beard follicles, and moisturizing it will make sure that the skin underneath, as well as the beard itself are well hydrated and nourished.

    7. Beard oil/Lotion/Balm © iStock
While it has not been proven scientifically that beard oils, lotions, and balms actually help with faster beard growth, there are theories that state some extracts may help. However, they do help with moisturizing and managing the beard, and definitely improves how the beard looks. Moreover, the circulation involved in massaging them into the beard facilitates improved blood circulation, which may be helpful in faster beard growth.

Now that we have discussed what we can do to facilitate faster beard growth, let us look at the other side of the coin. What does not help in faster beard growth? There are a lot of myths that keep floating around, and end up being the reason for disappointment for innocent, trusting individuals. Let us bust some of them:
Myth: Shaving is good for beard growth © iStock
Truth: This is one of the biggest myths. Shaving only cuts the beard hair, and in no way controls the beard beneath the skin. It has no effect on beard growth at all. Some people believe this to be true and keep shaving frequently with the hope that it will make their beard grow faster and thicker, but in reality it does not bear fruit.

Myth: One needs pills and supplements to make beard grow faster © iStock
Truth: According to science, there is no specific pill or supplement that will make your beard grow faster, except perhaps some specific medications such as Minoxidil, which we shall address at the end of this article.

Myth: A beard takes about 3-4 weeks to fully cover your face © iStock
Truth: All beards have different growth rates, and a beard can take a much longer or shorter period of time to fully grow out, depending on genes and other factors.

Myth: You should have a full beard by the age of 20 © iStock
Truth: Beard growth depends on one's genetic makeup and it is absolutely not true that all beards reach peak growth by the age of 20. Some people may have sufficient beard growth by the age of 18, while some may have to wait till 26-27-28 to have a full growth.

Myth: A patchy beard will always remain patchy © iStock
Truth: Just like different individuals have different beard growth rates, different areas on the face may have different growth rates as well. If you have a patchy beard, be patient and the areas with less beard growth may fill out eventually. Even if they don't fill out, after a bit of growth, those areas will successfully be concealed.

Finally, is there any external factor or medicine that can help with beard growth at all?
When it comes to medicine, Minoxidil can always be considered. While Minoxidil is essentially a medicine that is prescribed to facilitate hair growth on bald patches on the scalp, it may still be prescribed in certain cases. While scientifically there is no proof that Minoxidil specifically works for beard growth, this 2016 study found that a 3% Minoxidil lotion performed slightly better than a placebo.

Apart from his vulnerability against the away-moving deliveries, Virat Kohli’s captaincy decisions have also caused quite an uproar on social media, especially, of late.
From Ravichandran Ashwin’s exclusion to Ravindra Jadeja’s promotion in the batting order, some of his decisions have been hard to comprehend for fans and experts alike.
Kohli faced a lot of criticism when he persisted with Jadeja and left a world-class spinner like Ashwin on the bench for the fourth game running.
Not just that, he even sent the Saurashtra all-rounder to bat ahead of vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane on Day 1 of the fourth Test - a move that failed miserably.
    © Reuters
Among many experts who criticised the move was former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjreka, who slammed Team India’s thinking saying it was influenced by the shortest format.

Without mincing any words, Manjrekar also lashed out at the team management for overestimating Jadeja’s ability with the bat and added that sending him to bat at No. 5 in overcast conditions before a more established batter like Rahane was a complete “disaster”.
    © Reuters
“I think the T20 way of thinking has come in. I think they overestimated the ability of Jadeja to play at No. 5. In these conditions, it was a disaster waiting for him. I think Indian cricket is overestimating Jadeja's batting ability in overseas conditions,” Manjrekar said on Sony Sports Network.

“In India, send him at No. 5, there is going to be no problem. In these conditions, we saw while he was out there when the ball was swinging, he didn't look comfortable,” he added.
    © Twitter-BCCI
While calling Jadeja and Manjrekar 'enemies' would be a bit too much, they are definitely not known for seeing eye to eye. From calling Jadeja a “bit & pieces” player to allegedly making fun of his English in a private Twitter chat, Manjrekar has often faced criticism for crossing boundaries.

However, this time, fans were on his side as they couldn’t understand the logic behind promoting Jadeja up the order ahead of two front-line batters Rahane and Rishabh Pant.
I don't wanna agree with Sanjay manjarekar but he is right here, Jadeja didn't look comfortable at all against swing bowling.

    Agreed

I like the promotion of Jadeja as a lunch watchman.

    — Neil Virani (@NeilVirani) September 2, 2021
However, some people still thought that the move was a smart choice given Rahane’s struggle in the series, so far.
Manjrekar is concerned, I am sorry to say that despite his good technical acumen, he can't look beyond the blind spot towards Jadeja.

Manjrekar actually has been the only expert who's been calling out Rahane now for over an year. He's been the one to question Iyer's short ball

Don't know about the results of Jadeja's batting promotion. But that's a good move tbh.

Jadeja has failed to make an impact with the ball and has picked up only two wickets. As far as his batting is concerned, the southpaw began the series in style scoring a fifty in the opening Test at Nottingham. Since then he has only looked a shadow of himself, with experts raising questions over his technique against the swinging deliveries.

With the whole world arguing for Ashwin’s inclusion, the Indian skipper has turned blind eye to the outside world and shown faith in Jadeja’s all-round abilities. However, he ended up being a laughing stock on the micro-blogging site after giving a silly justification for picking Jadeja over Ashwin.

"England has four left-handers, so a good match-up for Jadeja, with our seamers bowling over the wicket. Also, it factors into his balance at No.7,” Kohli said at the toss.

With The Oval surface known to assist spinners as the game progresses, Jadeja may come in handy but the problem is he is not as skilful as Ashwin and relies heavily on the pitch.

That said, there are still four days left in the game and Jadeja could prove all of us wrong but right now, it’s hard to disagree with Manjrekar’s assessment.

Sometimes, social media can turn into a really mean place and people don't realise the adversity of the false news they spread.
Apart from that, there are trolls and memes, making it impossible for anyone to deal with such barbaric and unsympathetic conversations.
Recently, as the news of Sidharth Shukla's demise broke, the whole nation was saddened. However, someone on the internet mistook Sidharth for someone else and posted a picture of Tamil actor Siddharth instead.

The tweet was later deleted, and it brought some harsh words, targetted towards the Tamil actor, Siddharth.
Some replies were still left on the thread.
