Manoj Bajapayee is one of the finest actors we have in Bollywood today. Although his film trajectory includes cinematic gems like Satya, Pinjar and Aligarh, his movies like Gangs Of Wasseypur and recently, his Amazon Original web series The Family Man truly made him a household name among fans and even those who aren’t exactly film connoisseurs.

It may have taken years for Bollywood and desi fans to recognise his potential and talent but he has been getting a lot of offers from the West all this while. Recently, in a conversation on Clubhouse, he shared one incident where he ‘almost’ made his Hollywood debut opposite Lynn Collins in a film that also starred Frank Langella and Justin Theroux. This happened right after he got a national Award for his role in Pinjar.

He said, “I was about to get my second National Award for Pinjar and after that, I was supposed to go to Jaisalmer. After my National Award function, the next day, I travelled to Jaisalmer. There I was going to do a proper Hollywood film which was being directed by an NRI.”

I was playing the lead, Lynn Collins was my female counterpart and Justin Theroux was playing one role, Frank Langella was playing a role in that film and there were (a few other) actors in that film. Everyone was thinking my life's going to be so huge after that film because I was playing the lead with Justin Theroux, Lynn Collins, Frank Langella,” he added.

Interestingly enough, it was an astrologer who forecasted that it wouldn't work out. Actor Shrivallabh Vyas’ father, a great astrologer predicted otherwise. “We were having lunch and then I came to know that his father is a great astrologer and he was a very old person. He could hardly manage to speak. Shrivallabh said 'No, no, no, show your chart to my father. He's a great astrologer in Rajasthan and he's the astrologer to the King of Jaisalmer.' Then I requested his father to please tell me what would happen to this film, he recalled.

“He said, 'Nothing would happen.' So I said, 'Uncle, please see again, there must be something.' He repeated, 'No, I can't see anything.' Then I came out, one part of your heart is saying it's true and one part of your heart is saying it's not true. We all wrapped up and came back and nothing happened,” he added.

He probably didn’t get it because he was meant for bigger and better things and Bollywood owed him the success and recognition he deserved in Indian cinema.

We are glad ‘the family man’ stayed in Bollywood.

WhatsApp is now testing a feature that will allow iOS users to transfer their chat history to Android and the other way around.
A report by XDA Developers suggests that the feature will allow users to migrate their entire chat history to a different platform. The process will be possible with the help of a ‘Switch to Android’ app on the App Store.

WABetaInfo also posted screenshots of the new features on Twitter showing how the entire process will work. The dedicated app has not been released yet but for iPhone users, the app will require them to enter their iCloud password to decrypt data.

As for how the process will work, screenshots shared by WABetainfo reveals that users will soon get a new ‘Move Chat to Android’ option.
It will first ask iPhone users to scan a QR code to open WhatsApp and then tap on the start button to begin the process. The user will need to keep his/her iPhone unlocked and WhatsApp opened in order to complete the process.
We should expect to hear an announcement by the company soon as the feature is still being tested at the moment.
WhatsApp has also shared that in order to transfer from Android to iOS and vice versa, users will need to update the WhatsApp app to the latest version.
The feature will also be beneficial for the upcoming multi-device support as suggested by reports.

Multi-device support is the next big feature WhatsApp is expected to roll out soon.

“Hasp is giving a lot of priority for this feature, that will allow using your WhatsApp account on multiple devices at the same time. The development of the feature takes a long time because it will totally change your experience on WhatsApp, and a lot of things have been rewritten in order to be compatible with multi-device,” the report said.
Apart from letting users transfer chat histories between platforms, WhatsApp is also developing a way of transferring chat histories between different phone numbers. While it isn’t clear when any of these features will be available, we expect them to roll out in the next few months.

Brutal - that is the only word to describe Indian Olympian Satish Kumar’s Tokyo Olympics 2020 quarter-final bout against Uzbekistan’s Bakhodir Jalolov, who is the reigning world champion in the men's superheavyweight category, ranked number 1 in the world according to the AIBA rankings released in 2020.
With a dominating 4-1 victory in the Round of 16, Kumar appeared to be yet another bright Indian prospect to compete for an Olympic medal.
He may have even made it into the medal rounds had the world no. 1 didn’t come across him on Sunday.

The face with which the 32-year-old had entered the ring and the face with which he walked out (barely) were very different from each other.
Despite a gash on his face massive enough to become troublesome to just look at, the fact that the Indian pugilist, somehow, managed to stay on his feet for all five rounds in itself deserves all the respect in the world.
But it was his message to his Indian fans with a gashed chin, a bloodied right cheekbone, and a swollen eye the size of a table tennis ball, that won the hearts across the boxing fraternity.
    “ Pre quarterfinal मैच के बाद मेरे चेहरे पर 13 टाँके थे।पत्नी ने मना किया। पिता ने कहा अब बस कर।
    कोई भी परिवार यही कहता ।पर मरता क्या ना करता ? लड़ना तो था ही और मैं लड़ा। हार के बावजूद इतने फ़ोन आए कि लगा कि चैम्पियन मैं बना।
    मेरे बच्चों को गर्व है मुझ पर “

“After the Pre-quarterfinal match, there were 13 stitches on my face. My wife asked me to pull out (of the fight), and father asked me to give up. Any other family would have also asked for the same. Par marta kya na karta? I had to fight and I fought. Despite losing, I got so many phone calls that I thought I became the champion. My kids are proud of me,” he said, according to Journalist Vinod Kapri’s tweet.
Fans from all over the country were overwhelmed by his efforts and did not hold back from acknowledging the courage and heart with which Kumar went down swinging.
Combat sports are always cruel, especially boxing.
It needs a very big heart n guts to get into games like boxing
Satish stayed there till last with his guts.
    It's also a win.
    Stay strong Satish

    — Anand (@anand98739395) August 1, 2021Other than Kumar’s brilliant journey in Tokyo, the rest of the Indian boxing contingent failed to impress at the 2020 Olympics.
No one else out of the five qualified boxers from the roster was able to make it through to the final eight contestants.

August 1, 2021, turned out to be a great day for Israeli gymnast Artem Dolgopyat, who earned a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020’s Men’s floor routine and became his country’s second-ever athlete to win gold at the quadrennial tournament.
While the accompaniment is absolutely amazing and well-deserving of all the global attention that the 24-year is getting, for the Indian viewers, the more peculiar moment of the event came during the medal distribution ceremony in the end.
VIDEO: #ISR's national anthem, "Hatikvah," is played in Tokyo as the Israeli flag is raised in honor of gymnast Artem Dolgopyat, who just won the country's second-ever #Olympics gold medal. pic.twitter.com/IonEylUxlA

Once the top-three athletes from Spain, China, and of course, Israel stood at the podium with the precious Olympic medals around their neck, it was time for the Israeli national anthem to play inside the stadium.
The athletes stood in attention as "Hatikvah", the national anthem began to play.
As Dolgopyat stood with the flag being hoisted, most Indian fans realised that they had heard this tune before.
The National anthem tune has some familiarity to the Indian song.. Mera Mulk Mera Desh?? Or is it just me? https://t.co/mwf2IzoKR0
    — Maya (@Sharanyashettyy) August 1, 2021
Surely enough, it didn’t take long for them to figure where they’d heard it before.
It was the same, note-to-note tune that was used in the song Mera Mulk Mera Desh in the movie 1996, Ajay Devgn starer Diljale.

Upon a quick Google search, it was found that one of the well-known music directors of the Indian movie industry, Anu Malik was the man behind giving music to the Box Office “semi-hit”.
What came next, has become more of a norm than anything else really.
I knew he lifted songs...was disgraced in me too cases...then found out anu was short for anwar!

In any case...lifting from Israel's national anthem and putting up a patriotic song as a muslim...mind boggling...is this brilliant? because there's something hilarious about tis
    — DawnofAnEra (@AnDawnof) August 1, 2021Bollywood copied Israel's national anthem tune, this is next level piracy
    — Gagan (@follow_Gagan) August 1, 2021Well Music Director is Anu Malik.. No surprise
    — Arun Menon (@u2arun) August 1, 2021We didn't leave even national anthem of a country
    — Shubham Shandilya (@ShubhamShandil1) August 1, 2021Many tagged Anu Malik’s official Twitter handle in their social media criticisms while shaming him for copying the tune of a national anthem to use in one of his movies. Mind you, this movie was released 25 years ago.
"Melody is lacking in today's music and I am trying my level best to get that back. The songs which we hear today do not have any life. We still love to listen to the old classics because they had soul," Malik has said to PTI in a 2009 interview.

"It is the age of laptops and Internet where people are lifting foreign songs especially from Pakistani music. With such blatant copying the composers are killing Indian music," he had added.
