    Cricket is a gentleman’s game and with this very statement starts the disparity between men’s and women’s game.  
    While male cricketers have always been considered demigods, especially in a cricket-mad nation like India, the women cricketers are not given the same importance as their male counterparts and they end up getting secondary treatment. 
    The history of women's cricket is way older than most of us think, for instance, not many people know that the first-ever limited-overs World Cup didn’t involve men at all.

    But we are told that the West Indies became the first-ever world champions, which is factually incorrect. 

    The West Indies won the first-ever edition of the men's event in 1975, whereas England’s women’s team had lifted the World Cup two years earlier in 1973.
    Not just at the administrative level, the fans also treat female cricketers differently and don’t watch their game with the same enthusiasm which they have while watching a men's game.

    However, things have started to change slowly and the women's game is surely rising in stature and it’ll be only a matter of time until it gets the treatment it deserves.

    The women’s game was considered to be 'dull' and 'boring' for many years but now, things have changed, especially, in the last few years and there is nothing that women can’t do on a cricket field as their male counterparts.

    The athleticism of women cricketers is often questioned. But to them I would ask, did you watch India’s Harleen Deol flying in the air and grabbing one of all-time greatest catches ever during the first T20I against England? Because if you had seen her spectacular catch you wouldn’t dare question the fitness and agility of women players ever in your life.

    Harleen initiated the catch inside the fence but her momentum carried her beyond the fence. But while doing so, she showed great presence of mind and threw the ball in the air while crossing the fence and then stretched her body and completed the scintillating catch.
    Such was the marvel of the catch that even the opposition players stood on their feet and applauded her effort -- a rare sight on a cricket field.

    At the first look, Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming movie Toofan, which is about a gangster-turned-boxer, appears to be about just that - his journey from a nobody to becoming somebody respectable. 
    A story about commitment, as many would say. 
    But from the lens of a few hundred prejudiced people, Toofaan is now being seen as to be about 'love jihad' as some people have begun to boycott the movie ahead of its release.

    The movie, that is slated for release on July 16, recently revealed the names of the characters being played by Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur. 

    As the trailer of the film disclosed the names as 'Aziz Ali' and 'Pooja Shah', the fact that this would be an interfaith love story sparked a row on the internet, with netizens calling the entire movie ‘anti-national’.

    Besides taking to Twitter to condemn the movie and Bollywood for promoting ‘love jihad’, they also dug deep into Farhan Akhtar’s life to pull out old instances where the actor showed his support for CAA.

    Not that it was relevant to the work he was doing on the professional front, but since when have trolls needed an actual reason to slam someone?

    A user wrote while castigating the movie, “Remember @FarOutAkhtar Was against of CAA. It's our time, iski Toofan ko andhi main uda do," while another one commented, “Amir khan insults Lord Shiva. Saif Ali Khan, Salman khan insults our Sadhus? Does Farrah Akhtar promote Lovejihad? The one thing is common, i.e. defamation of Hindu culture? Be ready to #BoycottToofaanMany Hindu girls are victims of #lovejihaad because of such brainwashing. This is how people are constantly tweeting BoycottToofaan.”

    Some people are even going ahead to slam the movie for not sitting well with Indian culture, as they urge others to boycott it for anti-national reasons. 

    One user wrote, “Movie sucks actor sucks and their ideology sucks and Bollywood sucks so I humbly request all my fellow citizens to please #BoycottToofaan."

    He visited India after whiffing a taste of Indian butter chicken in New Zealand, only to come here and fall in love - with both the country and a woman he ended up marrying here. 
    Karl Rock, the famous YouTuber with almost 1.79 Million followers had always been in awe of India, its culture and the people up until recently, when he was denied entry back into the country, keeping him from his wife and family. 
    On Friday, July 9, the YouTuber alleged that the Indian Government had conspired to 'blacklist' him from entering the country, without so much as an explanation or a chance for him to question their decision. 

    The entire matter, which was highlighted in one of his vlogs on his channel on YouTube titled, ‘Why I Haven't Seen My Wife in 269 Days #Blacklist’, has already garnered over 5 lakh views and more than 25 thousand comments. Karl Rock claims in the video that the Indian government ended up cancelling his visa last year but refrained from telling him the reason behind this ‘blacklisting’.
    Highlighting how he hasn’t seen his wife in all of 269 days and counting, he goes on to talk about the several attempts he and his wife made over the past few months to resolve the issue, but hit a dead end. 
    The YouTuber has now decided to move to the High Court by filing a petition, and has even asked for public support on the matter. 
    Karl Rock also tweeted about the matter, marking New Zealand president Jacinda Arden to call for her support. 
    He even started an online petition  to gather support and help resolve this matter. Almost 85K people have signed his online petition till now.

    Meanwhile, the Union Home Ministry has denied any claims of blacklisting Karl and stated how his entry being denied is in fact a matter of a visa violation. An official was quoted saying, “He was on a tourist visa but engaging in business activities.”
    Meanwhile, people on the internet are divided on the matter, for many are claiming it had to do with him participating in anti-CAA support protests. 
    Even though the YouTuber has deleted any video he posted of attending an anti-CAA protest, a lot of evidence supporting his presence during the protests still lingers on the internet.

    Turns out Kathryn and Tim (made up names) had gotten married in a small wedding with a small budget, so as to be able to buy a house of their own after the marriage. For this very reason, their honeymoon was put on hold and saved for a later date. 

    Almost 5 years into the marriage, as the couple finally got down to planning it, and even booked the tickets, Kathryn came home to see her distraught husband, asking her for a divorce.

    Bewildered, since Kathryn hadn’t seen this was coming, she struggled with the sudden turn of events and things for her got worse when even her friends started acting strangely with her, making her feel aloof. 

    Upon inviting one of her friends over for breakfast, it was then that she was told by her how her ex-husband was supposedly dating a good friend of hers. 
    Devastated with the news, Kathryn tried her best to reach out to both - her friend and her ex, but none responded. Desperate to find out what was happening, she even visited her friend’s office, only to find out that her friend had been on a leave, and so had her husband. 
    This was the time around which the couple had to take their honeymoon trip, and suddenly, things started making sense. 
    Kathryn's friend told her how she had seen Tim in a video on Instagram, which was now deleted, following her friend into a hotel room that Kathryn had planned to visit with her ex. 
    Not only had the husband abruptly pulled the plug on their 5 years of marriage, but also went ahead and gone on their impending honeymoon trip with her best friend!

    The incident supposedly happened 2 years ago, and since then, Kathryn has undergone therapy to get over the hurt and heartbreak from the incident. 

    Meanwhile, we are still wondering if this story has the potential to be picked up by a director for a movie, because it sounds nothing short of a romantic drama/tragedy.

    The friendship between Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni is no secret, and it’s something that's hard to find in this day and age. 
    They wore the same colours and shared the same dressing room for the majority of their career, be it at the international level or franchise cricket.
    If there is one pair that can be equated to the ‘Jai and Veeru’ version of Indian cricket -- it’s definitely Dhoni and Raina and no one even comes close.

     They began their international career around the same time and ended it on exactly the same date -- August 15, 2020. While Dhoni’s decision was a long time coming, nobody saw Raina following in the footsteps of his mentor and announcing his retirement at the age of 33. 
    Back then, it was hailed as a 'brave' decision and a gesture of true friendship.
    Now, the southpaw has announced that he’ll also retire if Dhoni doesn’t feature in the next year’s Indian Premier League, which has left many hardcore-Raina fans disappointed.

    First of all, as per CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, Dhoni isn’t going anywhere, at least for next year or a two, but even if he does decide to retire one should not forget that the guy turned 40 just a few days back and, barring a few exceptions, we don’t see many players playing at the highest level at this age.

    Raina, on the other hand, is only 34 and clearly has three-four years of cricket left in him, if not not more. 
    While fans accepted his decision to retire from international cricket with Dhoni, they weren’t ready for such a shock and described it as more stupidity than loyalty:
