MS Dhoni, apart from his batting and wicket-keeping skills, was also known for his brilliant decision-making.
For a long time, Dhoni was sceptical of the efficacy of the Decision Review System (DRS), hence the Indian team decided not to use the technology in the bi-lateral series.

With time, Mahendra Singh Dhoni was convinced of the technology and soon, became arguably the best exponent of DRS. His accuracy level was such that people started calling it the Dhoni Review System and there were many instances, throughout his international career, when the former India skipper proved they were right.

Being a wicket-keeper, Dhoni had the best view of the proceedings and it definitely helped him in making the right decisions.
However, the fact that not every wicket-keeper is as good with the DRS only goes on to prove that Dhoni was special.
Here are 5 Instances that proved MS Dhoni’s love affair with the Decision Review System:

Chennai Super Kings were up against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2018. Dhoni opened the attack with Lungi Ngidi and made a strong appeal against KKR opener Chris Lynn, but the umpire Kumar Dharmasena was unmoved.
The ball had gone straight to the first slip fielder but everyone, including the bowler, thought it had clipped the pads. To everyone’s surprise, Dhoni decided to go upstairs and guess what, the snickometer confirmed his belief and the on-field decision was overturned.

Not just from behind the stumps, Dhoni proved that he was a master of DRS even from the non-striker’s end.

The incident happened during the second ODI between India and England in 2017. Having scored his century, Yuvraj Singh was looking to push the accelerator.
Chris Woakes bowled a wide yorker and Yuvraj went after the delivery but missed it completely. The umpire, however, raised his finger and gave him out.
Dhoni signalled, standing at the non-striker’s end, signalled for the DRS even before Yuvraj could make his mind.
The replay proved Dhoni was right as Yuvraj was adjudged not out.

    — CricBoll (@mycricboll) September 23, 2018
Even after stepping down from the captaincy, Dhoni continued to be the leader and always helped the skipper by suggesting new ideas.
The Indian team was led by Rohit Sharma in the absence of Virat Kohli during the 2018 Asia Cup.
In the eighth over, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made a strong LBW appeal against Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq but the umpire didn’t concur.
Dhoni straightaway asked Rohit to go for the review and India got the first breakthrough after the replay showed that the ball would have gone on to hit the stumps.
    4. Dhoni Got Rid Of Morgan  © Reuters
Dhoni was at his best once again during an ODI between India and England in January 2017.

A wide-of-off delivery from Hardik Pandya went straight into Dhoni’s gloves after taking a faint edge and the umpire didn’t raise his finger.
Confident that the ball took the outside edge, Dhoni went for the review straightaway and the replay once again proved him right and Eoin Morgan had to march back to the pavilion.
    5. Proved His Own Bowler Wrong © Twitter
Dhoni was playing for Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL 2017.

RPS were playing Mumbai Indians and leg-spinner Imran Tahir had trapped Kieron Pollard right in front. However, Pollard’s bat was way too close to his pads which made it extremely difficult for the umpire as well as the bowler to be sure if it was clear out or not.
Just as when Tahir was walking back to his bowling mark with his head down, Dhoni decided to take it upstairs and Pollard had to depart after replays showed the ball had hit the pad first and would have gone on to clip the stumps.

The transition from just talking to someone new every day to start dating them to finally get into a proper relationship is oftentimes, rather blurred.
One day you’re flirting with them at 3 in the morning, the next you’re out catching up over a few drinks and before you know it, you’re making it Instagram official.
    © iStock
But before you do any of that and decide to dive headfirst into a relationship, it is important to keep all your cards on the table. And by that I mean, come clean about a few things before you get further involved.

You know things like your favourite toppings on a pizza, because if it includes pineapple, it’s better to get dumped today than tomorrow..
And to save yourself and the other person from just the kind of deceiving, it is important to reveal these 5 things about yourself before you get into a relationship with them whether or not they have come up before:
    1. Your Dating History © Red Chillies Entertainment
By this, I don’t mean you have to necessarily list down the name of every person you've ever dated, but it is good to share who you’ve been involved with, and out of those previous relationships, how many crashed and burned and how many you’re still in touch with.

    2. Your Future Plans © Dharma Productions
This is in case you get into a relationship, everything goes great and then suddenly 4 months later you realise you have to head to a foreign country to pursue your higher studies. A detail that you left out while dating and bam, you're single.

To avoid any clash in the course of your relationship that may have an impact on the entire existence of it, it is advised to talk openly about where you are headed in life and see if the relationship will be able to strive alongside those future plans.
    3. Your Political Views © Dharma Productions
Sharing whether or not you’re a Modi supporter is good, but sharing where you stand on other topics of discussion in general, from feminism to economy to human rights to what football team you support, is also crucial to discuss.

These are the kind of views that shape you and your mindset as a whole, and it’s better to find out now if you’re not on the same page than regret it later.
    4. Your Expectations © Illuminati Films
A lot of couples often jump the gun and find themselves in a relationship before actually having a talk about what it means and where it is going.

It is of prime importance to discuss with your partner where you think you are headed with this relationship, whether it is just a go with the flow kind of a scene, a committed partnership or even something as transitory as a fling. Talk about it!
    5. Your Addictions © Rajkumar Hirani Films
Be it smoking, drinking, bingeing on the same 10 seasons of F.R.I.E.N.D.S every single day or any other addiction that you fell prey to, disclose it well before entering the new relationship to avoid any problems in the future.

After all, it is always better to have your partner prepared about what to expect, rather than have them shocked.
    6. Your Mental Health Issues © Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment
The purpose of sharing your mental health issues, if any, with the person you’re in love with and want to get into a relationship with, is to let them know that you’re going through something so you don’t have to be alone in it.

Mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and the likes of it, have their own way of seeping into your personal relationships and when that happens, having your partner in your corner, ready and willing to support you, will be of great help.

OnePlus’ latest flagship devices i.e. the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro were found to be manipulating benchmark scores and have now been removed from Geekbench. The smartphones use the latest Qualcomm 888 chipset and it turns out that the devices don’t perform as their benchmark results indicated.
    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
Both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro were found to be running at full speeds only while running benchmark apps such as Geekbench and not in other applications. This, in a way, means that OnePlus was manipulating benchmark scores that were not reflective of real-world usage. Since the manipulation was discovered, Geekbench banned both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro from its platform.

Discrepancies were also found by AnandTech where it claimed that OnePlus was blacklisting popular apps for its faster cores. This would in turn cause a slow down in workloads such as web and social media browsing. They also noticed that benchmark apps like Geekbench and Antutu got a full performance from the smartphone while the two phones gave a reduced performance in other apps.
    Geekbench’s Response  © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
Geekbench also issued a statement on Twitter after it discovered that OnePlus was manipulating benchmark scores on its apps. “It’s disappointing to see OnePlus handsets making performance decisions based on application identifiers rather than application behavior. We view this as a form of benchmark manipulation. We’ve delisted the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro from our Android Benchmark chart. We will also test the other OnePlus handsets in our performance lab to see if these handsets also manipulate performance in the same way.  If they do, we will delist them from the Android Benchmark chart,” Geekbench said in a tweet thread.

    © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
The benchmark company will also look into previous models that may have manipulated benchmark scores in a similar fashion. It is possible that previous smartphones by the company may also be delisted for benchmark manipulation. These may extend to models such as the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8T and every other device the company has launched in the past few years.

OnePlus is yet to release an official statement in response to Geekbench’s claims. We shall update the story once OnePlus provides a statement on the recent development.

Celebrity fitness transformations are always a visual treat for fans. While actors in Bollywood are synonymous with being fit and changing their physiques according to the demand of a role, TV actors have a fan following of their own and even a slight change in their look for a character or otherwise seems to be personal for fans because they watch them on daily soaps. Almost every other message that I have pending on my Whatsapp at the moment is either a forward from a family member or one from a friend who is constantly nudging at me to take a trip to the mountains with them because zindagi na milegi dobara.
And I am sure such is the case with most of you out there, who are either the ones convincing others for this road trip that is also being spelt as plain stupidity, or the ones dodging your friends to get out of this self-sabotage.
And for everyone else who has already been to the mountains for the needed escape, they seem to have accomplished so by escaping some common sense as well.
    © Dharamshala Local
As was pointed out by none other than a little boy on the streets of Dharamshala, where he seemed like the only one giving a damn about corona and wearing a mask while walking on the road during such times.

A video that has now gone viral and for all the right reasons, shows a boy walking down the busy street of Dharamshala schooling people to wear a mask as they roam around the marketplace with little to no concern about their safety or of others.
    View this post on Instagram
The video was shared with a caption that read, “This little kid was seen on the streets on Dharamshala asking people to wear a mask. He doesn’t even have shoes to wear. See the smirking faces of these people. Who is educated and who is uneducated here?,” and the answer wasn’t hard to guess.
Despite facing the threat of an imminent third wave, people continue to be careless in their conduct by not only taking off for trips in the middle of a pandemic but also behaving as though coronavirus doesn’t exist anymore. And that a child is more mindful of the consequences than adults is pretty telling of just how much trouble we are willing to land ourselves into.
    © Dharamshala Local
People have reacted to the video by dropping comments like, “Educated people vs a Child. Nice. they should feel ashamed.”

While another user wrote, “Shame on you guys, you don’t know the pain what people got in second wave”.
While a few people have lauded the boy for his efforts, others have condemned the tourists for being so callous. Meanwhile, tourist spots like Manali, Shimla, Mussoorie and other places continue to get swamped by people, at the risk of entertaining the virus along with the crowd.

Fans of the horror genre have it tough. Very rarely do we get a horror movie that entices us and actually manages to genuinely scare the bejesus out of us.

    © Universal Pictures
Most filmmakers and studios rely on lazy tactics to scare their viewers. They will either make the soundtrack too eerie or heavily rely on jumpscares. Very rarely do we get good horror films that actually affect the human psyche. Also, you don’t really need a ghost or a ghastly looking demon to make a good horror film.

    © Universal Pictures
Don’t believe us when we say that good horror movies don’t need ghosts or jumpscares? Well, take a look at this listicle of psychological horror movies that did not have ghosts or demons, but still managed to scare audiences into having sleepless nights.

    The Witch
Many people consider The Witch to be one of the best horror films to have been made in the last decade. The story is set in 1600s New Zealand, where a Puritan family who lose their son, start seeing themselves being targeted by a witch. The woman who they think is the witch is covered in mystery, and so is their surroundings. All this makes the movie a great cinematic experience.
    Hereditary
Even without the horror aspect, Hereditary is a great family drama. Take into account that this is a horror film, and you’ll find that this truly is a gem of a film. It is bloody and full of gore, which does make it a little disturbing to watch, but the realism, surrealism and fantasy elements make this a film that you cannot afford to miss.
    The Cabin In The Woods
The Cabin In The Woods starts out like a regular horror film but it evolves into something that is quite astonishing. Now, people have very strong reactions to the film. They either hate it a lot, or believe it to be a masterpiece of a film. It is funny at times, and at times, genuinely scary. At its core, this film is gory AF. Also, it is a great take on how the human psyche works.
    Get Out
Get Out is an out and out psychological horror film. There are no ghosts or demons. Instead what you see is a film where a bunch of White Americans, and how they have hypnotised a bunch of African-American people, and sub-ordinated them. Oh, and of course, perform medical examinations on them. You seriously need to watch the movie at least twice to fully understand the nuances of the film.
    The Lighthouse
The Lighthouse doesn’t deal with ghouls and demons per se and rather deals with the psyche of two lighthouse keepers. With that being said, the manner in which the film is shot is really scary. Plus, Willem Dafoe & Robert Pattinson have given a fantastic performance because of which this is worth a watch.
    Midsommar
Midsommar is another polarising film that audiences either just out and out hate, or can’t stop talking about. The film is a proper psychological horror movie in the sense that it deals with a number of mental health issues, in a rather unique way. At its core, it is a gory slasher movie. However, the layers and layers of details and nuances make it a movie that should certainly be on every horror film enthusiast’s must-watch list.
    Antichrist
Lars von Trier's Antichrist is a part of The Depression trilogy, which also consists of Melancholia, and Nymphomaniac. All three of them are jarring in their own sense, but Antichrist is really something. As you start breaking down the film, it becomes more and more disturbing. Antichrist is perhaps the most disturbing film on this list. This is a movie that the faint of heart should really skip.
    The bottom line…
These films are great examples of how a really good filmmaker doesn’t really need to rely on ghosts and jump scares to make a truly horrifying film. Some of these movies, like Antichrist, are genuine masterpieces, and great examples of just how terrifying certain movies can be without incorporating ugly ghosts and monsters.

As the entire nation celebrates the 40th birthday of Mahendra Singh Dhoni with stories and anecdotes of his achievements, laurels and everything in between that he did as the captain, batsman and wicket-keeper of the Indian squad, the supporters of the England cricket team had other plans.
The Barmy Army, who call themselves the England cricket supporters club and follow England everywhere they go, decided to take a rather peculiar approach towards wishing ‘Captain Cool’ - by reminding him of the loss India incurred during the Groups stage of the ICC World Cup 2019.
Happy Birthday MS, some amazing battles over the years 󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/1uomWLBp1Q
    — England's Barmy Army (@TheBarmyArmy) July 7, 2021 “Happy Birthday MS, some amazing battles over the years,” they wrote from their official Twitter handle, talking about the Edgbaston clash which England won by 31 runs behind a stunning 111-run innings by Jonny Bairstow.
However, it also turned out to be a match following which cricketers from all over the world had started to question Dhoni’s ability to act as a finisher for the Indian squad and began to doubt the intent with which he stepped onto the pitch.
This one pic summarizes the problem with Dhoni bakths... It's not about one six... It's not about 15 runs in last over... It's about intent to win... #CWC19 #IndvsEng pic.twitter.com/lwZFi4xZO3
    — Humming hero (@HeroHumming) June 30, 2019
"He appeared more intent on singles than sixes. Even with a dozen balls remaining, India could still have won," England all-rounder Ben Stokes later wrote in his book On Fire, addressing the strategy with which the former skipper played his innings.
"...there was little or no intent from him (Dhoni) or his partner Kedar Jadhav. To me, while victory is still possible you always go for broke," Stokes added.
And even though that particular match has turned out to be a bit of a stain on Dhoni’s career, especially in the final leg of his international cricketing days, his fans were ready to retaliate with some of their own memories of “some amazing battles over the years”.

After the 50-over match ended in a controversial tie, both teams managed to score exactly 15 runs in the World Championship deciding Super Over. But eventually, the Englishmen ended up winning their first-ever World Cup title on the basis of the fact that they had scored more boundaries in the final.
