If you were thinking that the director Priyadarshan has disappeared completely, you'd be wrong because he is back with Hungama 2. The trailer has already been released and people are appreciating the humour in it. Hungama 2 is a successor to the director’s 2003 hit Hungama. It’s surely nothing like the original, but it still has a lot of drama that might tickle your funny bone. The film will mark Priyadarshan’s return to Bollywood after an eight-year-long hiatus.

In a recent interview with Quint, he spoke about actors such as Ayushmann Khurrana and Kartik Aaryan not wanting to work with him on this movie and rejecting it. He doesn’t blame them but it doesn’t happen with him in the south film industry where actors are familiar with his work.
    View this post on Instagram
He said, “I don't face it in the south, because they know more about me. But here, I don't blame them for refusing, because if an actor doesn't feel confident about a director, they shouldn't do the film. Because then there will not be a comfortable interaction. Maybe these boys are more comfortable working with the new school; I belong to the old school."
In an earlier interview with PTI, Priyadarshan had spoken about offering Hungama 2 to Kartik Aaryan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sidharth Malhotra. “I didn’t go directly to meet them but my concept was narrated to a lot of actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aaryan, and Sidharth Malhotra. They all refused to do the film. Now, I am working with Meezaan. They all refused because maybe they thought I am an outdated director because I was out of the Hindi film industry for five years,” Priyadarshan said.

Hungama 2, starring Meezaan, Shilpa Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Pranita Subhash, will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar later this month.
Are you guys looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments section below.

Virat Kohli and head coach Shastri received a lot of flak from fans and experts alike after they sent in an email requesting the selectors to send Prithvi Shaw and Davdutt Padikkal to England as backup openers.
The ball was in the selectors’ court and the senior selection panel, led by former fast bowler Chetan Sharma, has turned down the management’s request and decided not to call Shaw and Padikkal, who are in Sri Lanka with the Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team for a limited-overs series.
    © Reuters
The report suggested that the selectors made the decision because they thought the team already has enough options in form of Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul and Abhimanyu Easwaran to replace injured Shubman Gill

Mayank and KL Rahul are already part of the main Test squad, while Easwaran had travelled as a reserve opener and selectors have suggested that he should be drafted in the main squad, if need be.

The majority of the fans praised the national selection panel, under chief selector Chetan Sharma, for making the right decision and rejecting team management’s request.

First time selectors has done right work..
    — Shivam Mishra (@shiv0769) July 6, 2021Though Easwaran's selection is very bad, but as he is in squad & travelled with the team, he deserves the chance.
    — Saransh (@Cricket_Saransh) July 6, 2021Great decision...Finally selectors under chair of @chetans1987 is strng enough to deny request (or decn) of this management..who were runnng d team a per deir wish.. Without any logic & sense..
    Very satisfying..

    — Weirdly_Gripping (@TanmaySingh08) July 6, 2021Very good decision. Instead of Gill , they should replace Coach and Çaptain. Both are running own lobby. Sashtri wan Prithvi for Mumbai lobby and Virat wants Devdutt for RCB. Their selections have cost us all the ICC events.
    — Sandip (@ItsSengupta) July 6, 2021I'm in favour of Selectors... Give chance to #Mayank or #KL instead of calling someone from #SriLanka ! They have started practice sessions after quarantine... Playing intra-squad match ! #TeamIndia #ENGvIND #TestCricket
    — Shivraj Khatri (@ImSR_Khatri18) July 6, 2021Selectors showing spine to kohli and Shastri hmmm.. kohli be like next time will ask dada to keep himself as selectors
    — Karthik (@Karthikacdc1) July 6, 2021Agree ..if selected player are not able to fulfill why select tham for Frist choices
    Management must Respect selcters
    Enough who are there
    — Shahil@21 (@Shahil214) July 7, 2021Good decision.... Back the one who performs well in First class rather than an IPL rookie.
    — Aditya Karn (@Aditya66026572) July 7, 2021First time selectors has done right work..
    — Isarail Sama (@IsarailSama1) July 6, 2021Great decision, a perfect one, u need not go for more choices when u already have plenty of options
    — Shadin BK (@BkShadin) July 6, 2021finally common sense prevailed
    — Chops (@ChopsUtd) July 6, 2021Selectors showing spine to kohli and Shastri hmmm.. kohli be like next time will ask dada to keep himself as selectors
    — Karthik (@Karthikacdc1) July 6, 2021Mayank Agarwal, who was among the leading run-scorers for India in the inaugural WTC cycle, is the front-runner to open the innings alongside Rohit Sharma in the place of Shubman Gill, who has been ruled out of the whole Test series.

Legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev, one of the most respected names in world cricket, had criticised Kohli and Shastri’s decision and described it as an insult to those players who were part of the squad since the beginning.

"I don't think there is any need for it. There should be some respect for the selectors too. They have picked a team and I'm sure it wouldn't have happened without their (Shastri and Kohli) consultation. I mean, you have two such big opening batsmen in KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Do you really need a third option? I don't think it's right," Kapil had said on an ABP News show.

"I'm not convinced with this theory. The team that they've picked already has openers so I think they should be the ones to play. Otherwise, it's insulting for the players who are already in the team,” said the former skipper, who guided India to their first-ever World Cup triumph in 1983.
"I want that the captain and the management should have a say, but not at the expense of over-ruling the selectors and say that 'these are the players we need'. In that case, we don't even need selectors. I am feeling a bit odd knowing that something like this has happened because if it has, it demeans the selectors and their role,” he added.
    © Reuters
Kapil Dev said he was always in favour of the captain and the coach having a say in the team selection but at the same time, they must also respect the selectors and their decision.

In exactly a week’s time, all the Indian players who are currently on a break in the United Kingdom will assemble for the preparation camp, and now that the selectors have made their decision, we hope that Kohli and management don’t think too much about it and instead, focus on making the best use of the resources at their disposal.

The Delhi High court said today that it was “shocked” at Juhi Chawla and other plaintiffs’ conduct after they filed a plea against the Rs 20 Lakh fine for a lawsuit over the introduction of 5G technology. “This court took a lenient view when it did not issue contempt notice to Juhi Chawla. Otherwise, the case was made out. I am shocked with the conduct of the plaintiffs,” said Justice J R Midha after hearing the plea.
    © Instagram/Juhi Chawla
Justice Midha who is retiring today, said, "This is the most frivolous application I've seen in my life.” He also said that the court had been inclined to issue a contempt notice today. “You’re saying the court has no power to impose costs?” he asked.

Juhi Chawla’s counsel told the court that the plaintiffs would deposit the court fees within seven days or via other available remedies. The court then said that on one hand, the plaintiffs are withdrawing the applications but are not willing to gracefully deposit the court fees. “I have never seen in my judicial career a plaintiff who doesn’t want to pay the court fee,” the bench added.

Juhi Chawla’s original plea claimed that 5G wireless technology can threaten to provoke serious, irreversible effects on humans and permanent damage to the Earth's ecosystems. The suit by Juhi Chawla, Veeresh Malik and Teena Vachani claimed that due to 5G technology "no person, animal, bird, insect and plant on Earth will be able to avoid exposure, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to levels of RF radiation that are 10x to 100x times greater than what exists today.”

The court had dismissed the suit filed by Chawla against the testing and implementation of 5G networks in India and imposed a fine on her and two other plaintiffs. At the time, Justice Jag Jivan Ram Midha said that the suit was “defective and dismissed it on technical grounds."

“The plaintiffs have abused and misused the process of law which has resulted in waste of judicial time. The cost of Rs 20 lakh is imposed on the plaintiffs. The plaintiffs are directed to deposit the cost of Rs 20 lakh with Delhi State Legal Services Authority within one week,” the court had said at the time. The court also called the filing of the suit “only for media publicity and nothing more than that.

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone fell in love with each other on the sets of Goliyon Ke Rasleela Ram-Leela. The two got married in November 2018, at Villa del Balbianello, with only close family and friends in attendance.

Ranveer has never shied away when it comes to praising his lady love. In an earlier interview with India Today, “I genuinely believe she is a far more evolved and wholesome person than I am. She is more responsible, mature, and independent. Duniyadaari mein woh mujhse aage hai.”

It's been almost a year since Covid came into existence and claimed millions of lives all over the world, wreaking havoc. Finally, 2021 came as a ray of hope, as we were introduced to vaccines to fight the virus.

    © iStock
In what can be called a truly 'magical' development, recently, Maharashtra's Mathurabai Bidve experienced something out of the ordinary.

For many, this incident might sound like a Bollywood drama but turns out, the 70-year-old woman got her eyesight back after taking the Covishield vaccine.
In many parts of India, people are still hesitant to take the dose and often turn their backs. But the people who are vaccinated are certainly seeing positive results of the vaccine.
    © iStock
Amid the vaccine drive, a lot of bizarre incidents have come up time and again.

For example, Bidve, a resident of  Washim district, claims that she lost her eyesight to cataracts nine years ago. This made her iris turn white, and the woman lost her vision completely. However, after she took the Covid vaccine, she felt better and mentioned that she has partially regained her eyesight by 30 to 40 per cent.
She took the first dose of Covishield on June 26th, and the very next day, she started seeing better. However, there is no scientific backing to this claim yet.
Now, that's unbelievable yet miraculous at the same time.
    View this post on Instagram
Back in June, in another bizarre event, a man named Arvind Sonar, 71, from Maharashtra said he achieved magnetic powers after taking both doses of Covishield.

In fact, he also made a video, which went viral, wherein he demonstrated how metal sticks to your body.
A similar incident was reported in Surat as well, where two family members claimed that they had become magnetic after taking the vaccine.
In a video later, it was said that magnetism was a part of the vaccine to let the RNA move in the body.
Several posts/videos claiming that #COVID19 #vaccines can make people magnetic are doing the rounds on social media. #PIBFactCheck:

✅COVID-19 vaccines do NOT make people magnetic and are completely SAFE

    — PIB Fact Check (@PIBFactCheck) June 10, 2021
However,  the Press Information Bureau's (PIB) later clarified that all these claims are fake and 'baseless'. The PIB also added that the vaccine couldn't make anyone magnetic, and that the dose is safe.

Kabaddi is a sport that is so intrinsically Indian that it forms an integral part of our cultural fabric. It is one of the rare factors uniting India’s urban as well as rural spaces. There would be very few people in our country who don’t have a memory associated with this demanding but exhilarating sport. Now, unlike cricket (India’s favourite pastime), Kabaddi is a different beast altogether. The physical nature of a contact sport like it requires athletes to be at the top of their physical shape. They spend years honing their reflexes and physiques, all in the pursuit of being the best at their sport. However, is any sport limited exclusively to the physical realms of the human experience?

    © iStock
Former Dean, and Senior Professor of Psychiatry at NIMHANS, Bangalore, Dr. Santosh Kumar Chaturvedi advises athletes, “There is no health without mental health, and it is vital to have a stable and tranquil mind. Athletes must understand the importance of mental health in order to achieve maximum confidence and dexterity when going back to the field.  If they identify any difficulties related to their mental health, they should address it immediately. They can reach out to friends, colleagues, coaches or professionals.”

    © iStock
For a long time we’d been under the inaccurate notion that struggles with mental health could be tackled and altogether avoided by leading a healthy life.  A few routine exercises, a choice diet and some healthy social interactions seemed to be an adequate enough recipe for decent mental health. But all that has changed, and how. Ever since the pandemic struck, we’ve witnessed life changing events on a social as well as a personal level. Some of these changes lie within our control, but most don’t. The rapid metamorphosis of life as we knew it has left nearly everyone incapacitated by their mental health struggles. And our nation’s Kabaddi athletes are no exception.

    © iStock
Fondly known as the Flying Thakur, Kabaddi superstar Ajay Thakur opens up about his mental health struggles, "I too have been suffering from anxiety and depression since the pandemic. I would now like to help young players participating in the K7 tournament realise their mental health issues and work around the same. This has been a hard time for all of us and I'm truly hoping that the upcoming events will rescue us from this dry run."

    © Ajay Thakur
While staying fit and at the peak of your physical performance can keep your endorphins flowing, a bad mental health day can creep up on everybody. And it doesn’t take much for the bad day to last longer than twenty four hours. Especially in uncertain, pandemic-dictated times we’re living in. It’s time to be kinder and more sensitive to the emotional as well as mental needs of the people around us, regardless of how they seem. Whether it be Kabaddi or Kushti, our physical prowess isn’t indicative of our mental health. There have been many men who’ve had to go their entire lives hiding their real feelings in fear of judgment. We’re glad that trend is changing.

Suryakumar Yadav has emerged as one of the more cool and calm members of the Indian cricket team in the past year or so and his maturity has been well received by the fans of the Men in Blue over time.
So when former Sri Lankan captain Arjuna Ranatunga took offense to the fact that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent their B-string of the Indian squad to his country for ODI and T20I series, it was Yadav’s goal-oriented approach that ended up winning the fans’ hearts once again.
Looking at the India squad in Sri Lanka, I don't think the hosts can complain. It's a line up that would challenge all full strength teams at the moment. #INDvSL
    — Brad Hogg (@Brad_Hogg) July 7, 2021
"Not really [thinking about being a squad of non-first-choice players]. Everyone is completely focused," Yadav said according to ESPNcricinfo. "The way the practice sessions are going, the way the [intra-squad] game went yesterday, it's going completely fine and we're really excited about the challenge,” he added.
"We're just here to have some fun, enjoy this series completely, and take a lot of positives from here," SKY went on to add while also suggesting no lapse in judgement of their motivation to come back home with a convincing victory against the Lions.
    View this post on Instagram
"That [England] was a different series. This is a different series. But the challenge remains the same - I've to go out and perform the same way I did… So pressure will be there because if there's no pressure, there's no fun. It'll be a great challenge and I am really looking forward to it,” he said.
"Every year I've learnt something different from all my team-mates [at the Mumbai Indians]. That tournament [Indian Premier League] is a great learning every year. It really helps me wherever I am playing. If you sum up, it's a great learning process and it has obviously helped me gain a lot of experience."
Last week, Ranatunga, an all-time Sri Lankan legend, had blasted the Sri Lanka Cricket board for even accepting a face-off against what he considered to be “weak”. "This is a second-string Indian team and their coming here is an insult on our cricket. I blame the current administration for agreeing to play with them due to television marketing needs," Ranatunga had said.

While trying their hand at damage control, the SLC eventually issued an official statement in which they called the Shikhar Dhawan-led B-string squad “strong.”
"Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce that despite claims by various parties as reported in the Media, the National White-Ball team of India currently touring Sri Lanka is a strong squad," SLC said in a statement. "Out of the 20-member India squad, 14 players have represented India across all formats or in some form. (Test, ODI, or T20i), and not a 'second string team,' as claimed."

Richa Chadha has been part of several controversies and is often trolled by naysayers for being unapologetically opinionated.

However, she usually takes to social media to express her views regarding several issues and deals with them head-on.

Since she stays updated with current affairs, the actress always talks about the key issues and is then turned into a target by some people on social media platforms.

She said in an interview, "There are two sets of trolls. One who troll you for your opinions and others who are trolls for hire, who are these two rupees trolls. The latter I don't pay any attention to because there is a lot of unemployment and they earn by trending hashtags with the same spelling mistakes. The former wants you to be vocal about everything, even if you don't know about it, who indulge in a lot of whataboutery and want to reprimand you."

She further added that people don't realise that trolls make actors famous unknowingly. She said, "In the end, a troll is a troll be it from the right-wing ecosystem or the left-wing and I really don't care about them. In fact, trolls make me very famous. I think trolls don't understand how much they help us unknowingly."

No matter how trivial the issue is, Richa has always managed to start a conversation and has been outspoken about most topics. She also said that people should be allowed to speak their minds, and if they want to comment on the fuel price rise, they should.

She said, "I think it comes from wanting to be a decent human being. You don't have to be an activist or somebody who's very outspoken. But if something wrong is being done to another person, you're just staying silent because you're afraid of something, then that's not a good idea."

On Monday, one of the most iconic commentators of the Indian cricket community, Harsha Bhogle referred to the coronavirus as “the Chinese virus” while talking about it has now gotten to several members of the England cricket team, while suggesting stronger bio-bubble protocol for the matches to take place from now on.
It doesn't look like it is going anywhere. The Chinese virus has now infiltrated the England cricket team. The bubbles will get more stringent. I guess there is no other option
    — Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) July 6, 2021
“It doesn't look like it is going anywhere. The Chinese virus has now infiltrated the England cricket team. The bubbles will get more stringent. I guess there is no other option,” the ‘Voice of Indian cricket’ wrote from his official Twitter handle.
And even though Bhogle’s recommendation for stringent bubble laws was well-received, it was the part where he called the pandemic a Chinese virus which led to a clear division between his followers. While many appreciated the 59-year old’s boldness and courage, others simply suggested that it was an unnecessary, controversial statement which could have been avoided.
Haha many are appreciating that u have mentioned "Chinese virus", but I didn't expect this from you, sir.

It may or can be avoided. 🏻🏻
    — विNoத் (@Vinothvk18N) July 6, 2021Exactly!! It is Chinese Virus only..thanks to @bhogleharsha for showing courage. It is universal truth and there should be no fear in calling it #chinesevirus https://t.co/BU4ru1D6fP

The variant at peak in the UK is an "Indian" variant, but it's called Delta now, and rightly so.
You might want to correct yourself.
    — mamamia (@intoxic81) July 6, 2021Wow just look in the Comment section so much love for China. Well the Virus came from Wuhan which is in China, so what is wrong saying the Covid 19 a China Virus??? https://t.co/HQh0xyPtrs
    — Vegeta1991🇮🇳 (@mandal8_mandal) July 7, 2021The argument remains about the fact that since the COVID-19 virus first originated in Chinese city of Wuhan, it could also be known as the “Chinese Virus”. However, many have countered by talking about how adding a nationality to something as devastating as this pandemic has led to physical and mental assault of the Chinese community overseas.
As far as the England squad is concerned, seven members of the England squad (three players and four staff members) were confirmed to have contracted the COVID-19 virus ahead of the ODI series against Pakistan. Consequently, every team member of the squad has been mandated to practice self-isolation, rendering them out, at least for the first couple of matches of the series.
The Royal London ODIs and the Vitality IT20s against Pakistan will go ahead. Ben Stokes will return to England duties and captain the squad – which will be named in the next few hours. pic.twitter.com/LH3mBm8wOz

As a back-up, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had to build up a completely new and inexperienced squad of inexperienced players in order to go ahead with their three-ODI commitment against the touring Pakistani squad which starts from Thursday.
"Overnight we have worked swiftly to identify a new squad, and we are grateful to Ben Stokes who will return to England duties to captain," ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said. Stokes will be making a return to national duties and will be leading this team of new players from the front.

It was always believed that one could either be a star or an actor in the entertainment industry until the legendary Dilip Kumar entered the world of cinema and proved how he can be both.

Many believe that the ‘tragedy king’ had the Midas touch of method acting and any role he picked was turned into magic. He gave us movies like Mughal-E-Azam and Devdas which are synonymous to his name, not the script.
    © BCCL
He left for his heavenly abode this morning and also left the world filled with his memories. The original superstar of Bollywood was not just an actor but was a pillar of constant inspiration for every other actor who entered the industry after him. Here are 5 times when actors spoke about how he left them in awe of his persona:

    1. SRKKnown as the ‘Badshaah’ of B-town, King Khan has always been vocal about the memories he has with Dilip Kumar. When he became an actor, he felt that he looked like the legendary actor and in an interview he once spoke about his childhood days when he got acquainted with Dilip Kumar. “I knew Dilip saab as a kid. Dad knew him. They used to live in the same galli in Delhi. I've met Dilip saab many times in my childhood. We have been to his place often. Actually, Sairaji doesn't remember this but her medicines used to be sent by my aunt from London. Years later, when I was working with Ketan Mehta, I saw a picture of Dilip Kumar in his office and I was like oh! that's me. He looked so much like me in that picture. Or rather I looked so much like him. But my relationship with Dilip saab goes beyond films. Dilip saab and Sairaji have always thought of me as their son."

    2. DharmendraThe Sholay superstar who continues to enjoy the love of millions of fans has always been in awe of Dilip saab. He has often shared throwback pictures with him and shared anecdotes from their memories. One time he mentioned how he wanted to be just like Dilip Kumar and said “Naukri kartaa cycle par aata-jaata, Filmy posters mein apni jhalak dekhta, Raton ko jaagta anhone khwaab dekhta Subha uthkar aaine se puchhta "mein Dilip Kumar ban sakta hun kya?"

    3. Amitabh BachchanOne would imagine what possibly could intimidate or inspire the man who inspires the whole world? His army of fans continue to visit his residence and get a glimpse of this magnum opus of a star, but Big B, in an interview with Filmfare, once mentioned how he loves Dilip Kumar’s work more than anything else. “Almost all his films were inspirational and worthy of mention but Ganga Jumna (1961) was a favorite. For someone born and brought up in Allahabad, UP, the land of Awadhi, to watch and hear Dilip saab ostensibly from Mumbai, behave and speak the perfect diction of a UP inhabitant was incredible," he said.

    4. Salman KhanEven Bhai thinks that no one greater has stepped foot in the industry. In an old interview, he said “Actor wise, I don't think anyone is bigger than Dilip Kumar, after that Mr Amitabh Bachchan had a very good run and he's working even today and is everywhere”.
A star from the Earth has left the mortal world to become an immortal star of the Universe today. His work, the lives he touched and the memories he created, continue to live on in the hearts of everyone. We pray for the peace of his blessed soul.

Apple’s new App Tracking Transparency feature is sending digital advertisers to Android which means that Android users will now see more targeted advertisements than ever. Apple’s new iPhone privacy-oriented feature prevents apps from tracking users and gives control to users for their own data. It gives the ability for users to allow or deny data tracking by apps that are having an adverse effect on advertisers.
Apple describes the App Tracking Transparency feature on its websites saying it “lets you control which apps are allowed to track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites for ads or sharing with data brokers.”
Due to the new features, iPhone users now have to opt-in to allow apps to track their data for targeted apps. App tracking is turned off by default on iOS 14.5 and early reports suggest that 96% of iOS users aren’t allowing apps to track their data. Other reports suggest that 75% of iPhone users aren’t opting into app tracking.

If you’re an Android user, Apple’s new data tracking feature will directly affect you as advertisers are now turning their attention to you. Advertisers have long favoured iOS advertising, however now, they are turning their sights on Android.

“Digital advertisers say they have lost much of the granular data that made mobile ads on iOS devices effective and justified their prices. In recent months, ad-buyers have deployed their iOS ad spending in much less targeted ways than were previously possible, marketers and ad-tech companies say,” The Wall Street Journal reports.
Apple’s new privacy policy has directly resulted in a 33% drop in advertising spend for iOS devices. One of the ad agencies i.e. Tinuiti Inc. has seen ad spend on Android jump by 50% since May.

Facebook has been a top critic of Apple’s App Tracking feature and said that Apple's goal was to “force businesses to turn to subscriptions and other in-app payments for revenue, meaning Apple will profit and many free services will have to start charging or exit the market.”

Facebook also said that Apple’s new App Transparency feature directly hurts small businesses that are struggling to survive in a post-coronavirus pandemic world. The new App Transparency Feature directly hurts Facebook and its business model since the social media giant depends on app data for serving ads on its platforms.
