Sony’s audio portfolio has an array of products to offer when it comes to size, audio quality and price segments. In probably the most affordable Bluetooth speaker category, Sony launched the SRS-XB13 Bluetooth speaker that is small enough to fit in a carry bag and take it with you wherever you want to. The small speaker is also waterproof which means you can use it near a pool or at the beach. It has a removable strap so that you can attach it to your backpack and take it with you on a hike. The SRS-XB13 not only offers features for outdoor listening, but it also packs a punch in sound performance for its size. Here’s what I think about the SRS-XB13 after using it for two weeks.
Design The SRS-XB13 can fit in the palm of your hand due to its small size and weighs around 255 grams. It’s got a 46mm driver that has a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. While the size is deceivingly small, the speaker has a sturdy build that can handle drops and rugged surfaces.
    © Sony
The base of the speaker is made out of rubber which also helps in keeping the speaker in place on surfaces and not move due to vibrations. This was especially necessary as the speaker does not weigh a lot and bass-heavy music can often lead to intense vibrations.

The biggest change with this iteration of the speaker is the rubberised buttons that you can use to switch on the speaker, control music and volume. The Play/Pause buttons also double up as a way to skip tracks where users simply need to double-tap the button. The speaker also comes with a USB-C port that is protected with a rubber cover. Having said that, the speaker does not come with an AUX-in port. The port comes in handy when you want to conserve battery life on both your smartphone and the speaker which you cannot do with the SRS-XB13.
    © Sony
As mentioned before, the SRS-XB13 has an IP67 rating which means it is fully water and dustproof. The speaker can be submerged underwater up to one meter for a total of 30 minutes. The speaker isn’t really meant for underwater listening but you can be assured it can survive water exposure, splashes and dunks in the pool.

Audio Performance The SRS-XB13 has been tuned mainly for accentuating the lower frequencies i.e. bass. In most cases, the SRS-XB13 handles bass-heavy tracks well, however the sound can distort a bit at high volumes. Listening to electronic music, hip-hop was a lot of fun, considering the size of the speaker. However, I wish the speaker could connect with one of Sony’s audio apps so that I could tune it to my liking. You can tune the frequencies on the music player of your choice, however having a default sound profile would have been far more convenient.
The SRS-XB13, for its size, offers rich low-end sound and well-balanced mids. The sound from the lower frequencies doesn’t really overpower the mids and highs which is perfect for casual listening. Since the speaker also has a passive radiator, you can expect a bit of boost in the sound as well. For a speaker of this size, I was satisfied with the overall sound quality which should suffice for users who are just looking to listen to music on the go. If you have two SRS-XB13 speakers, you can also do a stereo pair which was not a feature included with the previous model. Finally, the portable speaker also comes with an in-built microphone which is good enough to take calls but don't expect exceptional voice quality though.
    © Sony
In terms of battery life, the SRS-XB13 can last up to 16 hours on a single charge, however do expect it to have a shorter battery life if you listen to music on higher volumes for a long period of time.

The Final Say For Rs 4,990, the SRS XB-13 is an excellent outdoor portable Bluetooth speaker to consider. The sheer size of the speaker makes it easy to take it with you anywhere you want and the sound performance is astonishingly good as well. The IP67 rating and the long battery life makes the SRS-XB13 a perfect outdoor portable Bluetooth speaker to own.

In what would be a dagger in the heart of neighbors China, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did the unthinkable by calling up Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama on his 86th birthday to wish him a 'long, healthy life'.

In light of the recent events that include last year's long stand-off in eastern Ladakh, India and China have really remained thorns in each other's paths, and despite diplomatic talks showing otherwise, clearly do not consider each other very close friends.

China, regardless of what its relations are with India, has occupied and ruled Dalai Lama's Tibet since 1951, in what is considered "a calculated and systematic strategy aimed at the destruction of their (Tibet's) national and cultural identities.”
Earlier, due to the pressure of China, India had been forced to abide by China's 'One China Policy', however, things have obviously not stayed normal between the two sides ever since the Galwan Valley clash broke out in eastern Ladakh.
And now, it looks like India might have finally found out a way to ruffle Chinese President Xi Jinping by following the ancient proverb that goes like,
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

In what will certainly have political ramifications for India, PM Modi on Tuesday (July 06) rang up the Dalai Lama to speak to him on his birthday. Soon after the call, PM Modi took to Twitter to share the news as well.

Spoke on phone to His Holiness the @DalaiLama to convey greetings on his 86th birthday. We wish him a long and healthy life.
    — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) July 6, 2021
As per a source from Dharamsala speaking to Hindustan Times, the Dalai Lama was absolutely delighted to get the call from the Indian Prime Minister, with whom he spoke for a period of around 20 minutes.
During his address on his birthday, the spiritual leader thanked people across the world for wishing him and said that he has taken full advantage of India's freedom as well as religious harmony and is committed to reviving ancient Indian knowledge.
Soon after the news broke out of a relationship brewing between PM Modi and Dalai Lama, probably at the expense of China, people could not hold back from taking to Twitter to share their reactions.
One person questioned whether it was the first time in seven years that PM Modi had publicly acknowledged speaking with the spiritual leader. "Is this the first time PM Modi as Prime Minister has publicly acknowledged speaking with the Dalai Lama since 2014? I can’t seem to recall this happening previously. In any case, the messaging to China is significant." he tweeted.

    — Ananth Krishnan (@ananthkrishnan) July 6, 2021 Another user wrote that that PM Modi might be playing 5D chess with this change in foreign policy. "A significant change in Foreign Policy of India this wrt One China Policy. It was expected last year, 20 days after Galwan clash but didn't happen, this year it has. Nice. Thanks, Prime Minister"

Other tweets went somewhat like this:

and various union ministers are wishing birthday to @DalaiLama
    ।
Is this a substantial change in India's policy?

If it is,its a great move.

The Bollywood industry and Bollywood fans are still trying to wrap their heads around the divorce announcement made by actor Aamir Khan and his director wife Kiran Rao. The couple issued a joint statement and claimed that they continue to remain friends and will co-parent their son Azad, while also working together professionally.

    © BCCL
The couple also shared a video message for their fans and expressed that they need the support and understanding of everyone and how the love in their relationship has not changed, only the status of their relationship is different.

Unfortunately, the internet trolls didn’t spare actress Fatima Sana Sheikh and dragged her name in this matter, brewing controversy and hinting at her involvement. Like many people on the internet who are sharing their opinion, actress Kangana Ranaut, who is known to never hold back on her thoughts, took to her social media and shared her two cents on just the divorce but a general personal opinion on inter-faith marriages in India.
“At one point In Punjab most families raised one son as a Hindu and another one as a Sikh, this trend has never been seen among Hindus and Muslims or Sikhs or Muslims, or anyone else with Muslims for that matter, with Aamir Khan sir’s second divorce I wonder in an interfaith marriage why children come out only Muslims. Why woman cannot continue to be Hindu? with changing times we must change this, this practice is archaic and regressive… if in one family if Hindu, Jain, Buddhist, Sikh, RadhaSwami and atheists can live together then why not Muslims? Why must one change one’s religion to marry a Muslim?” she stated.
    © Instagram
India is a democracy and freedom of speech is something that is actively advocated, and Miss Ranaut has probably never held back on filtering her thought about anything. Her statements have always stirred up a storm of debates and opened virtual arguments where some people actively disapprove of her thoughts.

What are you thoughts around this statement that she made and do you think celebrities need to be extra cautious about what they share since their opinions have the power to influence so many people? Let us know in the comments section below.

The pandemic has affected life in every form, and there’s an unsaid uncertainty for everyone, be it a working professional, a businessman or a student. The ongoing confusion around how and if there will be any board exams for class 10th and 12th students keeps hovering around the heads of students like butterflies on a flower.

The latest development and scheme derived for the students appearing for boards in 2021-2022 session includes conducting exams in two terms: one in November-December, and the other around March next year. The syllabus will be divided and exams will be held based on only the 50% syllabus each time. This ‘double boards’ scheme has obviously garnered a mix of various reactions and for students, the best way to deal with this news was to spread some memes on the internet.

    — ANKIT SINGH (@ANKITSI52858853) July 6, 2021Earlier last month, the CBSE had submitted a plan to the Supreme Court explaining how the marks for the students in this session will be evaluated. Apparently the results from the last three years will be evaluated and the results will be out by 31st July.
While this new scheme is exhausting and intimidating for students of this year, a lot of people are actually in support of it. The stress of studying an entire year’s syllabus and the hype around how ‘scary’ boards can be for some is kind of eliminated.

No matter how great a chef Gordon Ramsay is, the Brit is popularly known for being very outspoken and often crossing the line when speaking to contestants on his show or people in general.
    © Reuters
However, it feels like that the restaurateur and television personality might have even outdone himself this time around. According to reports, a newlywed couple has blasted the Hell's Kitchen executive producer after he reportedly gatecrashed their destination wedding with his production crew.

Last month, the couple, Charlie Willis and Laura had spent a lavish sum of Rs 1,34,100 (£1,300) for their private beach destination wedding at Newquay town in England to celebrate the memorable day with their close friends and family.

However, all went south when the occasion was disrupted by Ramsay and his television crew who arrived at the Lusty Glaze beach to film a segment of his new TV series Future Food Star.

Now imagine you're trying to spend what could be the grandest day in your life and suddenly, you end up feeling like an extra on a film set.
“The whole thing was a complete kitchen nightmare. We had both worked so hard to save for that day and we felt like extras on a game show," said Charlie, while speaking to a publication.
According to the spokesperson of Lusty Gaze beach, the reason why the confusion occurred was that while the couple had booked a ceremony and meal on the beach, it didn't cover the cost of exclusive use of the area.
However, following the incident, an executive producer from Ramsay's show reached out to the devastated couple and issued an apology. Later, Ramsay and his production crew even reimbursed the couple's wedding cost as a gesture of goodwill.
Ramsay's producer Sharon Powers, while speaking to a publication said, “I am mortified that we affected your special day and I can assure you that it was never our intention to upset you or your guests. As you are aware, we have now paid for your wedding in full, which I hope goes some way towards making amends and acknowledging how sorry I am that your special day was affected, albeit unintentionally, by us.

    — Cricket crazy 🇮🇳 (@Cricket_crazy7) July 5, 2021Vihari, a gifted middle-order batsman in Test cricket, was snubbed from the Playing XI of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton’s Ageas Bowl. Eventually, it was the team’s middle order that collapsed on the sixth and final day of the match, allowing the Black Caps to win the inaugural WTC season, even though India looked in a great spot to end the final in a draw at the end of Day 5.
Ever since the disappointing loss, all eyes have turned towards the upcoming five-match Test series between India and England from August 4th onwards and the changes the team management will be making to the Playing XI.

There is also another batsman, who struggled at a high level during the first and second innings of the WTC final and speculations of his being dropped ahead of the England series are already in the air. A BCCI official later said that skipper Kohli may promote himself to the number three spot while making a space for one of the reserved middle-order batsmen to get inserted in the squad. Speculations about Vihari finally getting to return to playing on the ground are therefore afloat and make sense as well.
The 27-year old’s heroism was put on display back in January 2021 during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia on foreign soil. Coming to bat in Sydney with the top order getting wrapped up quickly, Vihari had a formidable partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin to ensure that the match would end in a draw. Despite a cramped-up leg, the batter stuck to the crease like white on rice and played a patient 161-ball innings.

Battlegrounds Mobile India launched with much fanfare in Early Access a few weeks ago, followed by its official launch last week. The game was instantly popular amongst mobile gamers which is reflective in the number of downloads the game has already received on the Play Store. Battlegrounds Mobile India has achieved over 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store.
    © Unsplash/onur-binay
In celebration of the achievement, Krafton will be giving away in-game rewards including a Constable Set, 1M total downloads reward, 5M total downloads reward and an ‘India Ka Battlegrounds’ Gift. Speaking on the achievement, Krafton said in a press release “We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans in India who have been waiting for the official launch of Krafton's Battlegrounds Mobile India. Thank you all for spending your precious time with Battlegrounds Mobile India. Krafton will do its best to provide you a pleasant gaming experience.”

It’s worth pointing out that the game hit 10 million downloads on Android alone and Krafton is yet to announce the iOS port of the game. The company says it is working on the iOS version of Battlegrounds Mobile India, however a concrete date for the release hasn’t been set yet. While mobile gamers from India primarily play on Android devices, we should see an uptick in the number of downloads once the iOS version is released.
    © Unsplash/screen-post
Since the game is still seeing new downloads on the Play Store, Krafton also extended the date for the data transfer deadline to July 9th. Krafton did temporarily halt the data transfer service on July 6th but has now resumed the service again. “Dear BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA fans; Starting date of the temporary shutdown of data transfer previously announced has been changed from July 6th, 2021 -> July 9th, 2021. We apologise for the inconvenience upon the temporary shutdown of the data transfer,” Krafton said on the official Battlegrounds Mobile India website.

The game will keep getting updates for bug fixes and events in the future as some features are still missing from the full game. For starters, an in-game chat feature that was available on PUBG Mobile is yet to make its way to Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey’s Haseen Dillruba released on Netflix on Friday to mixed reviews. While some people praised the movie and Taapsee's performance, others bashed the movie for its tone as they felt that it was misogynistic in nature.
In a statement, Taapsee had earlier said, “Haseen Dilruba was a film I had a very strong gut feeling about the day I heard the basic idea from Kanika. Unfortunately, I wasn’t the first choice for the film and it came to me after all their options were exhausted. The good old saying that, if it’s meant for you it will come to you stands true for this case. It’s not just a beautifully written mystery, it has such wonderful characters involved which is candy in an actor’s hands. I am glad I got to experiment with my look and performance with this one because I am definitely not the go-to person for this kind of character conventionally and we all love to take risks here.”
View this post on InstagramBut, people were left disappointed with the movie as they felt that there was no proper execution and the plot was too far-fetched.
And now, it has come to people’s attention that the movie’s plot was copied from writer Roald Dahl's 1953 short story, Lamb to the Slaughter. Yes, that’s the latest twist here.
One of the users wrote, “The plot of Haseen Dillruba is literally just Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl meets this one episode of Brooklyn nine. Didn't even bother stealing from something obscure.”
Following which, people have been bashing Kanika Dhillon for not even acknowledging it.
    Here are the reactions:

We wonder how Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey would react to this.
