Looks like Kartik  Aaryan is controversy’s favourite child in Bollywood right now. After a lot of heated debates between his fans and others on social media over him being dropped from a Dharma Project and even dropping another big project after that brought back the nepotism debate , Kartik has been rock solid in terms of the extended love and support he has been getting. His next confirmed venture was titled Satyanarayan Ki Katha and was soon going on floors. However, the team took to social media to announce that they have decided to change the name as it might hurt sentiments.

The movie is being directed by award winning director Sameer Vidhwans who is the man behind famous Marathi movie Anandi Gopal. Talking about the storyline, the director mentioned in an interview that “The film is again a unique moving love story. It will bring out a facet of Kartik Aaryan’s talent which audiences haven’t seen so far. Kartik is an immensely talented actor. I wanted only him for this role." Rumour has it that Shraddha Kapoor is going to be the leading lady. Here’s hoping this project is a success for Kartik and the team.

There is exactly a month left in the start of the Test series against England but the Indian team suffered a major blow when it emerged that Shubman Gill is most likely to miss the entire series with an injury.
Gill had been opening the innings alongside Rohit Sharma for quite some time now but his injury has led to debate as to who should replace him, with Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul’s name most likely contenders.

As per a TOI report, Virat Kohli and the team management want Prithvi Shaw to join the Test squad in England as soon as possible as a backup opener. But the question is why call someone when you already have two experienced players who can do the job?

Well, that’s not how the management is thinking. For them, KL Rahul is much-more suited to bat in the middle-order, which leaves the Indian team short on options at the top of the order.

Besides Mayank and KL Rahul, Bengal’s Abhimanyu Easwaran is also with the squad as a backup opener but given the importance of the series, the Indian team doesn’t want to take any chance with an inexperienced player and Shaw’s inclusion will mean they have a plan to fall back on, if need be.

The report also added that they are yet to make any formal request with the selectors to release Shaw from the limited-overs series in Sri Lanka and send him to England.

Legendary former India all-rounder Kapil Dev wasn’t too happy with management’s decision and said calling someone from the outside who is not even part of the initial squad would be an insult to the players who are already there in England.
"I don't think there is any need for it. There should be some respect for the selectors too. They have picked a team and I'm sure it wouldn't have happened without their (Shastri and Kohli) consultation. I mean, you have two such big opening batsmen in KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Do you really need a third option? I don't think it's right," Kapil said on an ABP News show.

"I'm not convinced with this theory. The team that they've picked already has openers so I think they should be the ones to play. Otherwise, it's insulting for the players who are already in the team,” said the former skipper, who guided India to their first-ever World Cup triumph in 1983 and inspired the next generation players.

Kapil Dev went on to say that he is all for captain and coach having their say in the team selection but it shouldn’t be done at the expense of overruling the selectors as it demeans their role and sets wrong precedence.

He also argued that if the captain and coach decide who they want to see in the team, then what's the point of having a selection panel in place.

"I want that the captain and the management should have a say, but not at the expense of over-ruling the selectors and say that 'these are the players we need'. In that case, we don't even need selectors. I am feeling a bit odd knowing that something like this has happened, because if it has, it demeans the selectors and their role.

"Only Virat and Ravi can say that. I feel that this is a wrong set-up to enter. The players you have backed, you cannot demean them. They are big players and I wouldn't want something like this to happen. No need for any unnecessary controversy," he added.

It’s not easy to let go of someone who was a huge part of your life. And, when things end on bad terms between two people, it’s even worse. Men certainly take the breakup harder and are an emotional mess for weeks.

While the stages of a breakup may differ from person to person, clinging on to hope of them taking you back and unwillingness to date someone new is the same for almost everyone.

If you are already at an acceptance stage and changed your relationship status from complicated to single, good for you. However, if you had a nasty breakup, you are probably afraid, jittery or hesitant to dive into the dating pool. No worries, because we are here to help.

Don’t let a bad breakup keep you from being happy and in love again. Here’s how to get back in the dating game.

Do it on your own time © iStock
There is no set timeline of moving on from a bad breakup that works for everybody. If you feel like you are ready to meet someone new after a month or two or even a couple of weeks, that’s okay. Unless and until you’re sure, it’s never too soon or late to start afresh.

Don’t spend time looking for a closure © iStock
Rather I should say, don’t ‘waste’ time waiting to hear from them and tell you why they left. Dating someone else is your closure. Get back in there, download a dating app, meet friends of friends and make yourself available rather than wondering why it happened.

Steer clear of comparing your dates to your ex © iStock
For a new relationship to work, you need to leave the past where it belongs--in the past. When going on a date, be open to new experiences and new memories and don’t compare. Don’t let things that went wrong in your last relationship affect a budding romance.

Be confident and be yourself © iStock
The only thing that could keep you from fully getting out there is holding yourself accountable for the breakup and letting it reflect in your date with a new person. When you meet someone, just be confident and be genuine. While your past relationships could have left you heartbroken, it has also shaped you in so many ways and made you a better and more dateable person.

Kuldeep Yadav is currently in Sri Lanka, hoping to finally be able to play his first T20I match in over a year and a half, and first ODI match on foreign soil in more than 18 months.
When he was first brought on board, Yadav was supposed to be this mysterious, hidden weapon, ready at skipper Virat Kohli’s disposal. He was supposed to be the chinaman, the talented ‘X-factor’ of the Men in Blue, who had enough variation in his arsenal to deliver six different balls in an over and still have options to keep the opposing batsman guessing his next move.

However, off late, Yadav has been reduced to nothing more than just a fancy waterboy who’d get left hanging in the wind, as new players enter the Playing XI and go on to make a name for themselves.
Call it a change in the locker strategy, or the captain’s preference of all-rounders spinners over specialists, but names like Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Axar Patel have left a 26-year-old too far behind.
    View this post on Instagram
It took Yadav a whole new string of an international Indian cricket team to get a decent spot in the roster and even then, it is uncertain whether he will play in the opening match or will B string skipper Shikhar Dhawan prioritises someone else over him.
Before leaving for Sri Lanka, we got the opportunity to ask the young southpaw a few questions about the wait he had to go through to finally get his moment and the mental struggles that followed along while spending days and weeks, and months on the sidelines.
    Here are the excerpts:
-On Facing Severe Setbacks In The Indian Cricket Team:There have been major setbacks in my life that have had a negative effect, and whatever has occurred, I am grateful to God for. Cricket is a sport where your performance varies because it is a part of our lives and we cannot be perfect all of the time.
When it comes to injuries, I've had a few small ones that I wouldn't consider a setback. There are times when things are difficult.
-On Self-Doubt After Not Being Picked For Playing XI:Yes, I feel that there are instances when things don't go as planned and you begin to doubt yourself; these ideas are very acceptable and are a natural human propensity.
But, in my opinion, it is critical to speak with the proper person who has been seeing you grow and accompanying you on your path, whether it is your family, friends, or a coach who motivates you like it has been for me. Hard work is something that everyone has to do to get onto the path of success.
-On Feeling Vulnerable And Emotional As A Man: View this post on Instagram
I have a strong emotional side to me. But, yes, there have been occasions when I became emotional while playing in the IPL and blamed myself for not winning the match, and these things happen naturally, and you have these ideas at a young age.
-On Feeling Neglected And Anxious:When you overthink it, you feel it, and of course, I feel bad because I start believing that I should play, especially since there are no senior players and half of your team is absent. You don't have a chance there, which makes you feel horrible because everyone is talking about you and saying things like ‘he should play’.
However, I believe that cricket is a game in which everything hinges on the team's composition and strength. As a player, I agree that thinking about playing and having all of my fans supporting me makes me feel unique. Anxiety does occur, but when you are mature enough to recognize it and respond positively, expressing that it would be beneficial to the team, that is what matters.
-On Getting Snubbed In The IPL: View this post on Instagram
I mean, when I'm playing for India and then don't have an opportunity to play for a franchise, I start to wonder what's going on with me, and when you talk about it, I get a lot of different answers.
Although the most common argument I hear is that I don't fit into the combination or that the conditions aren't the same, or that the ground and limit are too small, these are all valid reasons that I must comprehend and accept.
-On The Notion Of ‘Men Don’t Cry':I believe that these ideas have been ingrained in us since childhood and that society has taught us that men do not cry. It's just because they don't want you to become connected and emotional, which would make you depressed.
-On Playing In The B String Of Team India: View this post on Instagram
Of course, there will be no seniors on the tour, but all of the selected members are pretty mature and have the excellent opportunity to play on the massive platform of the IPL, where they can express themselves while also having the opportunity to play alongside incredible players.
I am confident in their ability to deliver. I believe that the entire credit for this goes to the IPL because of the way they manage and hunt for talent and provide opportunities for them to express themselves, as well as the opportunity to play with international players, which boosts confidence.
I agree that 100 percent experience is important, but I also believe that confidence and aggressiveness are equally important.
-On The Pressures Of Limited Opportunities And High Expectations: View this post on Instagram
When you have limited possibilities for achievement and high expectations from your friends and family, you will be under constant pressure. You feel apprehensive and overthink the process at this point because you believe that if your performance is poor, you will fail in the future.
It is critical to maintain calm, as I have learnt over the last few months; your expression should not vary, and you should be joyful, as this is crucial to keeping your mind stable. Thinking that you would not have another chance, consider this your final game; similarly, I consider my first game to be my final game.
That's how I set my mind, telling myself that it's okay, it's occurred, and I'm going to be strong.

Amid the ever-extending lockdown, we learnt new ways to keep ourselves entertained. With theatres shut for more than a year, one way to strive through the lockdown was watching movies on OTT platforms. Now that the first quarter of 2021 has passed, there were some mind-blowing hits on digital platforms. While some shined out, a few others were an utter disappointment. Let's take a look at the best and worst Hindi movies of 2021 so far.
    Best1. Pagglait

Pagglait is a brilliant film as it unabashedly bashes society's way of handling grief and death. It's a story about a girl named Sandhya, whose husband faces an untimely death. However, despite the demise, the wife is not meek or timid and finds a way to grieve on her own, away from the mandated, traditional norms. The dark comedy talks about inhibitions and freedom and how Sandhya finds herself.
    2. Nail Polish

If you haven't watched this movie yet, this is a perfect weekend watch. A legal thriller, Nail Polish movie has an engrossing plot. The story takes one into the dark zone of rape cases and murder and how several migrant children are killed. The story goes deeper into the unresolved issue. It has an unusual take, and the movie takes you through a smooth ride with a twist.
    3. Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi

Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi is a story about Ram Prasad, whose family gathers in Lucknow for 13 days after his death to perform Tehrvi. We then catch a glimpse of insecurities and politics and how family members turn into enemies. This film is genuinely applaud-worthy with a stellar cast, including Vikrant Massey, Konkona Sen, Naseeruddin Shah and Supriya Pathak.
    4. Kaagaz

If you are a fan of Pankaj Tripathi, Kaagaz is a must-watch then. His exceptional acting skills will leave you spell-bound. Satish Kaushik directs the biographical film, and it talks about a man from Amilo, who is declared dead on papers but is actually alive.
    5. Sherni

Sherni recently released on Amazon Prime, and it received rave reviews for Vidya Balan's acting chops. It's an unconventional story of a topical subject of nature. It revolves around capturing a man-eating tigress who has killed several people in the village. The story is a fight between humans and nature.
    Worst1. Roohi

After a brilliant story like Stree, we were excited to catch another glimpse of Rajkummar Rao in Roohi. The comedy-horror movie is a spine-chilling story of a ghost who captures brides from their honeymoon. Varun Sharma's story with the spirit is the only surviving point, but it doesn't keep one intrigued.
    2. The Big Bull

No comparison with Scam 1992 at all! Abhishek Bachchan's The Big Bull looked more like a melodrama than serious acting. The movie lacks authenticity.
    3. Radhe

If you skip this one, trust me, you are doing the right thing. Radhe has the same redundant plot which failed miserably, so much that even IMDb gave it one star. Even Salman's father didn't appreciate the movie. Please don't watch it!
    4. Sardar Ka Grandson

The movie's trailer did look promising, but it fails to find the emotional connection with the audience. Even though the story has a stellar cast, including Arjun Kapoor, Neena Gupta and Rakul Preet, the plot is poorly executed.
