    The former KKR skipper was trying to explain how most batsmen don’t tend to like their own bats, and always find others’ equipment more reliable. While that was fine, he went a step too far ahead and used a controversial analogy to make his point, which turned many people against him. 
    “Batsman and not liking bats, they just go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat,” Karthik said. 
    “Bats are like neighbour’s wife, they always feel better,” he added, which left many people disappointed.

On top of that, his sledging of former England captain Nasser Hussain inside the commentary box on Day 2 of the WTC final also made him an instant fan favourite.

    No matter how much the fans loved him a few days back, there is no way to defend or justify his sexist analogy. 

    Karthik’s comments also highlight the true face of the male-chauvinistic society that we are currently living in where people find it funny to compare women to some object, like a cricket bat in this particular incident, and still have the guts to come and defend it, saying it just a ‘mere joke’.

    Yami Gautam tied the knot with the filmmaker of Uri, Aditya Dhar, last month. The actress posted a series of pictures from her wedding on Instagram and stunned her fans and followers.

    Even though everything seemed to be going great for her, she was recently called in for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate for an alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). ED has asked Yami Gautam to appear on July 7th and give a statement on the irregularities in her bank account under FEMA.

    According to news, Yami received Rs 1.5 Crore in her bank account, which wasn't disclosed to the authorities. The transaction is suspected to be a foreign monetary transaction. Hence she has been called in for questioning. This isn't the first time Yami has been summoned by the federal agency. In fact, she was called in last year as well but couldn't step out due to the pandemic restrictions.

    Sources mentioned that certain transactions were made, and after active investigation, it was found that the bank accounts were connected to Yami Gautam, post which she was summoned. Many movies are also under the eyes of ED for money laundering cases.

    On the work front, Yami has resumed working on her next project, which is a thriller movie called A Thursday. Some of her great works include Kaabil, Badlapur and Vicky Donor.

    If ‘double whammy’ had a meaning , then it's probably this. Twin brothers from West Bengal’s Burdwan area have managed to score a job at the same company and that they also landed the exact same package!
    Saptarshi and Rajarshi Majumdar, who were the students of SRM University in Andhra Pradesh managed to score a handsome package of Rs 50 lakh per annum with PVP Inc, a partner of Google Japan. This happened when both of them got recruited during campus placements.

    “Because of our dad’s job posting, we spent the majority of our childhood in Jharkhand. We did our middle school partly in Bokaro Steel City and partly in Deoghar and studied high school in Bokaro Steel City. Then we came to SRM AP and pursued computer science. Our dad is the general manager of a hotel. Our mom is a homemaker," they mentioned in an interview. The brothers are B.tech graduates and now looking forward to beginning their innings outside India.  This is not it, besides making their parents proud with this win, the brothers have outshined all recruitments in the past from their university.

    In another disheartening case of animal cruelty, a black Labrador dog succumbed to death after two minor boys at Adimalathura beach in Kerala on Monday allegedly killed the dog.

    Now, the disturbing video of the same has been surfacing on social media. The video showcases the canine being severely thrashed by two boys.
    Bruno was taken care of by eight siblings. Christuraj, one of the siblings shared the video on Facebook in which Bruno is seen tied by his neck to a boat and being mercilessly beaten by the three youngsters. 
    The clip has now surfaced on the internet and people are demanding #JusticeForBruno.

    Now, Christuraj’s sister Sony P has lodged a complaint with the police regarding the same. 

    Sony expressed that Bruno had recently started going to the beach and he would usually return back by noon, but one day he didn’t return. 
    After this, her brother-in-law Andrew went out to look for Bruno, however, failed to find him. And then he reached the beach and witnessed three youngsters brutally thrashing their pets.
    According to TedTheStoner, a verified Instagram account with 1.6 million followers, the dog was beaten to death just for sleeping under the boat of the accused.
    According to TOI, Sony Said, “We came to know that they will bring the matter with the help of one of their relatives employed at the coastal police station nearby. We felt we wouldn’t get justice and we took to Facebook so that everyone would know what happened to our Bruno.”

    A police officer said that a case has been registered under relevant sections. She said, “However, we have not taken the accused into custody yet as it turns out the offenders who are seen in the video… are all under the age of 18.”

    Chinese state media outlets have been celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its achievements this week. With the celebrations, the Chinese state media showcased video packages of a fighter plane boasting the progress of the J-10 fighter plane. 
    What’s odd is that the video package showed a video that was taken from the Tejas trials. The video was also manipulated with a filter where the video was cooler or had a bluish tint than the original Tejas trial footage.

    Having said that, Indian Twitter users were quick to catch the similarities between the two videos and came to the conclusion that the video shared by CGTN, was indeed the trial footage of the Tejas fighter. 

    CGTN shared a video profiling Fei Dong, a pilot of the People's Liberation Army Air Force, who flies the J-10 fighter. It is considered to be one of the most important fighters of the PLAAF fleet. In fact, Chinese experts have also used the progress of the J-10 to ridicule the development progress of India’s Tejas fighter craft.

    The video, in question, shows the aircraft dropping a laser-guided bomb which was suspiciously similar to the Tejas trial video. It has now been confirmed that CGTN used a trial video of the Tejas fighter from 2013 during an exercise at Pokhran. Both videos showed the identical position of the laser-guided bomb and the pylon on which it was being held. 

    According to The Week the clip also showed the Israeli origin Litening laser designator pod, which the Tejas was using during the trial. It is worth pointing out that China does not use the same designator pod on any of its fighter aircraft as of now.

    Kohli is one of the highest-paid athletes in the world and is the only cricketer in the Top 100 in with an estimated worth of $26 million. The Indian batting great jumped from 100th to to 66th position in the Forbes' highest-paid athletes list last year.

    It was estimated that Kohli earned $24 million by endorsing brands while a total of $2 million came from his salary and match winnings. 

    The 31-year-old is the only cricketer in the Top 100 of the list which has Tennis legend Roger Federrer ($106.3 million) on the top, followed by football legends, Cristiano Ronaldo ($105 million) and Lionel Messi ($104 million) respectively.

    After his marriage to actor Anushka Sharma, the Indian skipper bought a luxurious bungalow in Gurugram for a whooping Rs 80 crore. Like many celebrities, Kohli also is a big fan of high-end supercars and owns an Audi R8 V10 Plus (Rs 2.72 cr), Audi RS5 Coupe (Rs 1.1 cr), and Audi A8L W12 Quattro (Rs 1.87cr). 

    Kohli is associated with brands like Puma, Audi, Wrogn, among others and also owns a football team FC Goa in country’s top-flight division and has even forayed into fitness and health sector and launched a fitness chain named ‘Chisel’.

    Things have really been awkward in the British Royal Family ever since we had a world of disclosures from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the interview with Oprah.
    It had been revealed that the interview, which disclosed claims of Royal racism and bullying allegations, had strained the relationship between brothers Prince William and Prince Harry.

    However, Thursday (July 01) marked the 60th birthday of their mother Princess Diana, and both brothers chose to put aside their royal rift to unveil a new statue in her remembrance.

    Both Princes William and Harry took the wraps of Diana's bronze statue in the sunken garden of her former London home at Kensington Palace.

    "Today, on what would have been our mother's 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character -- qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better," they said in a statement.
    "Every day, we wish she were still with us, and our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy," they said in a joint statement, which showcased a public show of togetherness.
    Both brothers had once shared a close relationship, however, things went down really bad for the Royal family when Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the United States and later disclosed incidences of Royal racism.
    The brothers, who were last seen together at the funeral of Prince Philip following his death in April, were actually seen smiling as they took off the wraps of Diana's bronze statue.

    Dressed in dark suits, Prince William and Harry were both seen smiling and holding conversations with guests that included the sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley, and garden designer Pip Morrison.

    Apart from the statue, the garden had been planted with more than 4,000 flowers, including Forget-me-nots, which were said to be Princess Diana's favorite.
    Diana died at the age of 36 in a high-speed car crash in 1997, however, decades on she is still remembered as fondly as ever.

    Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is officially available on the Google Play Store and is no longer in early access. 
    Before the official launch of the game, Krafton made the beta version of the game available to select pre-registered players before the official launch today. Players who want to play the popular Battle-Royale game no longer have to wait to get access and can get right into the action.

    If you’ve already downloaded the pre-release version of the game, you can now update to the official full release version via the Google Play Store. As of now, the game is only available on Android at the moment and players do not need to download the APK file from third-party sources any longer. 
    For iPhone users, there is no word when the game will be available on the App Store, however, we can expect an official announcement from Krafton soon. 
    For early-access players, you can simply visit the Play Store page of Battlegrounds Mobile India and update the app. Once the update has been downloaded, you also get rewards such as the Constable Set, which is a reward in celebration of 10 million downloads of the game. Krafton has also extended other rewards the game was offering during the early-access period of the game and will be available for everyone to redeem until August 19th.

    Battlegrounds Mobile India is more or less similar to PUBG Mobile with subtle changes. If you are wondering what has changed in BGMI, you can read about all of them here. During the initial launch period of BGMI, the game was found sending data to servers based in China which has now been addressed by Krafton. 

    Players can now transfer data from PUBG Mobile to BGMI to restore all of their purchases and in-game items. However, this time around the data will be stored securely on Krafton servers based in Singapore.

    Ahead of the release of sci-fi drama The Tomorrow War starring Chris Pratt, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan got candid with the Hollywood star.
    Varun shared a video on Instagram in which he has been asking a bunch of questions. 
    Dhawan, who has already watched The Tomorrow War, asked Pratt about the significance of the title, to which he explained saying:
    “Tomorrow as an idea is a coming era. The film is a big fun action-adventure that takes place in 2021 as well as in 2051. So, this war is being raged against the invading alien forces, though it takes place 30 years away. But if you look back at 1990, for me, that feels like yesterday. 30 years can be pretty quick, and the world can change. It really poses the question whether or not we should rely on science and innovations to save the world and create solutions for the things that are happening in the world today.”

    He continued, “I read a lot of scripts these days. I am in a very blessed position where people come and tell me, ‘hey, please get my movie made.’ But there are many similar themes: time travel, aliens, world-saving epic events with massive set pieces and creatures, but where do you find those that do evoke an emotional response based on real relationships. For me, that is the heart of any great story.”
    While Varun understood his take on the upcoming movie, he also wanted to know if he took any advice from his father-in-law Arnold Schwarzenegger. 
    Pratt said, “It is interesting to be able to talk to him (Arnold) about work. There’s an understanding there. He is a much bigger icon than I will ever be and he was a big part of the fabric of my youth. I am fortunate to have him as my father-in-law.”

    To make the chat even more interesting, Varun taught Pratt how to dance in Bollywood style. He showed him some moves from his song Tan Tana Tan from Judwaa 2. 
    It was more than crazy to see how Chris learnt the moves in no time. The Avengers actor also showed an interest in being a part of the Bollywood fraternity and to understand the film culture in India.

    Most of us confused her with being Adah Sharma from the 1920 movie, but it's Shilpa Shetty Kundra. She is known for being an eccentric dresser in the industry, but this scary ghost get-up petrified everyone. 

    Shilpa is a judge on Super Dancer - Chapter 4. In the promo shared by the channel, one can see her in the horrifying avatar. The actress turned a ghost to take revenge as Super Dancer Guru, Vaibhav Ghuge, is often seen scaring Shilpa on the show.

    In a video, she tells the makeup artists to make her look as scary as possible. When it's done, she cannot recognise herself and is stunned to see the new ghost image. She is successfully able to scare Vaibhav, and it all pays off in the end. Even Judge Anurag Basu mentioned that this is the first time a judge has pulled off such a prank as it's mostly the contestants who do it.

    The contestants will be seen performing on retro, classic hits and even the judges would be seen carrying the same look on the show.  Veteran actor Annu Kapoor will make a special appearance as the theme is an ode to the Golden Era of Indian cinema. Shilpa said in an interview, "I had so much fun shooting this episode that I cannot express it in words! The kids and the choreographers have put up some wonderful acts, and it just transported us back to the Golden Era of Bollywood."




    On the work front, Shilpa is all set to make a comeback in Bollywood. She recently announced her next project, Hungama 2. The trailer of the movie released on Thursday and Shilpa made an announcement on Twitter as well. The film is all set to release on Disney + Hotstar VIP on 23rd July and has a stellar cast including Meezaan Jaffrey and Paresh Rawal.
