Marathi web series Samantar took the internet by storm when it first released in 2019. Swwapnil Joshi headlined this spine-tingling thriller, and made us all fall in love with the show. Fans were waiting for Season 2 with bated breath, and all the 10 episodes of Samantar 2 are no live on MX Player.
For the uninitiated - Samantar Season 1 introduced us to Kumar Mahajan (essayed by Swwapnil Joshi), a middle class man who sets out to alter his destiny. He’s chasing Sudarshan Chakrapani (essayed by Nitish Bharadwaj), a man who has already lived his life and could tell him what his future beholds.
While season 1 left us on the edge of the couch, season 2 is here to unravel the mystery. Here are 5 reasons why Samantar Season 2 is the perfect weekend binge-watch:
Swwapnil Joshi - Need I Say More?
Heartthrob of Marathi cinema, Swwapnil Joshi constantly challenges himself with varying genres and pathbreaking plots. Samantar is no exception - his acting is nuanced, intense and supremely convincing.
Putting Regional Shows On The Map
Dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, this show has garnered fan following across languages. That’s the power of cinema.
“It is narratives like this that break language barriers, cut across audiences and hold universal appeal. It’s been over a year since the show first hit screens and I know that the fans of this franchise have been eagerly waiting for season 2”, Swwapnil Joshi said.
     Spine-Chilling Plot
Knowing that someone else has already lived your life can be a creepy thought. In Season 2, Kumar is handed a diary that details Chakrapani’s life, and it predicts that a new woman is going to enter his life. No matter how hard Kumar tries, fate has its own course to run and he is inevitably drawn towards her.
