    Kangana Ranaut has donned the director’s hat once again and this time, she will be helming the film titled Emergency based on the life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. 
    She took to the Koo app to announce this news and also revealed that the project will be penned by Ritesh Shah, who has films like Pink, Kahaani, Kahaani 2, D-Day, Rocky Handsome among others to his credit.
    Talking about Emergency, Kangana wrote, “Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira.”

    In an earlier statement, she had said that it’s not a biopic but a political drama. 

    “It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi. It is a grand period film. To be precise, it is a political drama that will help my generation to understand the socio-political landscape of current India,” she said.

    It will surely be interesting to see a movie on Indira Gandhi and as Kangana stated that it will be more of a political drama, we expect that the movie should cover these aspects.

    1. Indira Gandhi became the first woman Prime Minister of India and the third Prime Minister of the country in succession to Jawaharlal Nehru and Lal Bahadur Shastri. 
    We expect the movie to delve deeper into the fact that how a woman political leader came into being and what were the discussions that happened around that time when she was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India on 24th January 1966. 
    The election of a woman as Prime Minister of India caught the attention of the world.

    2. She nationalized the 14 largest commercial banks with effect from midnight of 19th July 1969.  
    It was a big milestone and back then she had told All India Radio, “An institution, such as the banking system, which touches and should touch the lives of millions, has necessarily to be inspired by a larger social purpose and has to subserve national priorities and objectives.”  
    It will be interesting to see on the big screen how Indira Gandhi took such a huge decision. 
    3. As the name of the movie suggests, it’s quite evident that the movie will focus on the time period when Indira Gandhi had imposed the Emergency.  
    It was on June 25, 1975, that the former Prime Minister had taken this decision which changed the socio-political scenario of the country. The Emergency lasted for 21 months and several Opposition leaders were arrested.

    4. The movie also should focus on her ideology behind adopting Norman Borlaug's Green Revolution ideology. 
    5. The movie should also delve deeper into how the 1984 riots came into being.  
    In 1984, the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, was taken over by Sikh extremists and in response, Gandhi sent Indian troops to regain the temple by force.  
    This resulted in the mass killing of the Sikhs that turned the community against her. On October 31, 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated outside her home by two of her trusted bodyguards. 
    We are truly hoping that Kangana focuses heavily on Indira Gandhi's political career in the movie and does not dramatize it too much.

    India’s social distancing with ICC titles continued as Virat Kohli and Co failed to challenge New Zealand in the World Test Championship final, suffering yet another heartbreak in the knockout stage of a show-piece event.
    Apart from the on-field actions, the highlight of the summit clash was the involvement of fans, who kept on cheering for their respective teams despite the rain playing spoilsport throughout for a major part of the match.

    The match had several moments, like when one team seemed to be edging ahead but was soon left struggling after losing a couple of quick wickets, which made it an exciting watch for the fans in the stands.  
    In the past, we have seen fans’ candid and enthusiastic reactions being captured by the cameraman and broadcasted on the television, with some of them taking social media by storm and gaining huge popularity over time. 
    Who can forget that famous reaction of a Pakistani fan during the 2019 World Cup that went viral online and was turned into a meme which is often used till date. 
    Seems like we have got a new contender to rival that meme and this clip features a group of Indian supporters who were captured showcasing two contrasting emotions during the WTC final.

    On Day 6 of the WTC final, Ajinkya Rahane was on strike with Rishabh Pant batting alongside him. 
    The cameraman panned towards the stands where a passionate Indian fan was showing his support to the team by pumping his fist in jubilation, but as he was doing it, the Indian vice-captain nicked a Trent Boult’s leg-stump delivery and was caught by the wicketkeeper, BJ Watling. 
    The moment the supporter realised this, his ecstasy took a 360-degree flip and turned into despair and he was left holding his head in utter shock. 
    The ICC shared the combined video of fan’s reaction alongside Rahane’s dismissal and soon, it went viral on the micro-blogging site, with many describing it as the Indian version of ‘waqt badal diya, jazbat badal diye’ meme.

    Britney Spears became an iconic pop singer post her smash debut single 'Baby One More Time' in 1998. However, things were not as rosy for the star as a lot of people thought. 

    The singer has recently urged the court to end the conservatorship of her father. Jamie Spears was put in charge as Britney's conservator in 2008, after which he got control over most of the aspects of her life. 
    While he was a temporary measure earlier, he was made permanent by the US courts and has been 'controlling' Britney's life for the last 12 years.

    Britney was hospitalised, following a psychiatric treatment, which was widely reported. 

    In a recent video link, Britney went on to say that she wants her life back and isn't happy about it. She also pleaded to the judge saying, "I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I want changes, I deserve changes."
    Here are ways in which Spears claimed her father controls her life:

    Britney mentioned that she wants to live a normal life, get married and have kids. She told the court, "I want to be able to get married and have a baby." 

    The singer has two children from her previous marriage and wished to get her IUD removed, but the conservatorship didn't allow her to do so, due to medical care control. 
    She is also banned from seeing her friends.

    Back in 2009, there were leaked voicemails unveiled by her lawyer. 

    In this, her father used the visitation rights with her two children against her, so she could stop fighting the conservatorship in the court.

    She also spoke about how the management threatened her in 2018 if she didn't do her concerts. They also reported to her therapists, that Britney wasn't taking medications. 

    Britney added to this that it was threatening and scary. She also said, "The people who did this to me should not be able to walk away so easily … I’m not here to be anyone’s slave. I can say no to a dance move.”

    Under the conservatorship of James Spears, Britney has no control over any personal decision. That power has been given to Jamie and her attorney, Andrew Wallet. 

    Jamie was given the rights to control Britney's estate and health, which means discussing business opportunities and control of her personal life. Whereas the attorney controlled the financial assets.

    Spears also told the court, that the conservatorship was supposed to help her, but she is unable to make even the most basic life decision and can't spend her own money. 

    She mentioned that the laws need to change, so she can live a full life. She also added that the people who control need to know that they actually work for her.
    Even her fans started a movement called #FreeBritney that made a resurgence again after they realised how her father is running the singer's life.

    The FreeBritney.net site said she is not allowed to enter into contracts without seeking legal permission. In fact, she needs to seek permission even to leave her house. The movement also went out on the streets, to end the control over her life.

    She is also barred from speaking with the media. She added, I can’t say one thing … I have a right to use my voice.” 

    As per reports, Spears wants the conservatorship to end soon, as she doesn't want to be taken advantage of anymore.
    7. Lack Of EmpathySpears also said that the doctors put her on medications that made her feel drunk and she wasn't even allowed to change in private or drive in her own or her boyfriend's car. 
    As per the news, she was also forced into rehab and had to pay $60,000. Her father showed no concern and every little thing had to be approved by her dad.

    On Wednesday, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the leading wicket-taker of the World Test Championship tournament with a total of 71 scalps under his name between 2019 and 2021 during which he appeared in 14 international matches for his country.
    Walking into Southampton’s Ageas Bowl stadium on the Reserve Day of the WTC final, Ashwin already had 69 wickets to his name before he went on to dismiss New Zealand openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway for the 70th and 71st scores, respectively.

    Throughout the season, the 34-year old when on to have four five-wicket hauls and his best single-innings performance came against South Africa at home when he had himself a seven-wicket haul while giving away 145 runs in the first innings of the first Test which was held at Visakhapatnam between 2-6 October 2019.
    As remarkable as this achievement is, an iconic moment, just ahead of the WTC final, had taken place in which former Indian batsman turned cricket analyst, Sanjay Manjrekar had remarked why he feels Ashwin was not an ‘all-time great’ cricketer.

    "Ravichandran Ashwin, with due respect to him, I think he's a great guy at what he does, but when people start talking about him as one of the all-time greats, I have a few problems with that," Manjrekar said. 
    "One basic problem that I have with Ashwin is that when you look at SENA, the countries for batsmen and bowlers, places where Indians find themselves outside their comfort zone - it's amazing that he doesn't have a single five-wicket haul. Not one five-wicket haul in all these countries," he added in the video.

    "The other thing - you talk about him running through sides on Indian pitches, when pitches are suited to his kind of bowling. But in the last four years, (Ravindra) Jadeja has matched him with wicket-taking ability throughout a series.
    "So, Ashwin is not a guy who soars above the others. And interestingly, in the last series against England, Axar Patel got more wickets than Ashwin on similar pitches. That is my problem with accepting Ashwin as an all-time great."

    Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team lost the inaugural season of the ICC World Test Championship after a shocking first session of day 6 of the final against New Zealand at Southampton’s Ageas Bowl cricket ground.
    This not only goes on to add to the various times the Men in Blue have remained dominating throughout a tournament, only to suffer from sudden death in the knockout rounds, or in the matches that matter the most.

    The loss in the WTC final also adds to Kohli’s list of ICC Tournaments in which he has not been able to bring home a trophy. Many consider it to be a failure on the part of his captaincy and every single time Kohli’s squad loses a big game, in come the haters, demanding his resignation from the position and handing the leadership to someone like Rohit Sharma, or in the case of red-ball cricket, Ajinkya Rahane.
    However, the fact also remains that it was under Virat Kohli’s captaincy that Team India managed to remain a dominating force in the past year and a half which led them all the way to England for the final against the Black Caps - a fact, many are willing to forget just because of a very peculiar one-off Test which was marred by bad weather, irregular match timings, and a middle-order which just couldn’t hold their own against the Kiwi pace and swing.

    Bear in mind that this, at no point, is to take away any recognition from Kane Williamson's brilliance as a batsman, a cricketer, and a captain. The better team won the WTC and the prestigious mace along with it. If at all, Indian cricket fans were happy for the Kiwis, especially after the huge upset they had to go through a couple of years ago when they lost the World Cup to England by zero runs.

    Nonetheless, the passion Indian fans share for cricket often brings out only the extreme levels of responses for their own team and its leader and surely enough, the same happened this time around too.
