Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, one of the highest-grossing Indian films in Indian cinema, has often been described as a story of unrequited love.
But if we’re being reaaally honest, it is a lot more than that...
© SLB Films
In simple words - how some women back in the day could take a free Euro trip to meet their boyfriends while having their husbands pay for it. The movie is a clear cut love triangle between Salmaan Khan, Aishwarya Rai and a khatta nimbooda. While Ajay Devgn is also there.
Enter Sameer, walking through the middle of a desert, accompanied by the spirit of his dad. After a pretty dramatic showdown between him and the thin air that he calls dad, he finally reaches the house of Pundit Darbar and is greeted by his family which is actually the size of an entire village. No really, it should be declared a zilla parishad.
© SLB Films
Meanwhile, Nandini is busy throwing a fit about giving up her room to Sameer for the duration of his stay. However, within the first 5 seconds of their meeting, Sameer manages to woo her with his pathetic Gujarati and indulges in what can only be called as some weird a** flirting. One that involved some nasty nimbooda talk.
Pundit Darbaar puts Sameer to a random singing test at the dinner table, where he screams HEY till the audience goes deaf. Obviously, he passed the test.
As the hormonally raging chemistry between Sameer and Nandini grows, at family functions of all places, Sameer even uses the Italy card to satisfy his foot fetish after reading Nanidini’s foot instead of her hand.
Things go south when Sameer tries to grab Nandini in the middle of a celebration, despite her resisting it, and ends up getting slapped by her. Oh but, how dare she!
© SLB Films
Enter our second protagonist Vanraj aka Ajay Devgn who can’t stop drooling over Ash as she jams on nimbooda. Going by the ‘love at first sight’ logic, he asks his sister to send a rishta to Nandini’s parents. Little does he know, catfishing awaits.
Meanwhile, a still butthurt Sameer in a desperate attempt to seek some attention, starts eating chillies. Guess who wouldn’t want to be the one using the washroom after he does?
© SLB Films
After Nandini fears getting pregnant merely after a kiss with Sameer, he promises to ask her hand. Which obviously doesn’t matter because all chattees gun have matched with Vanraj. At the same time, remember the cousin who had an affair but got married to someone else? Yeah, she comes back home and screws up the game for poor Nandini.
A lot of drama, family politics and an unhealthy speech about how ‘women must get married according to their parents and once they do, become a slave to their husbands’ later, Nandini tragically gets married to Vanraj while Sameer is banished from the house.
All this while, Nandini's father acts as the one whose life has been ruined, because #MisogynisticFatherComplex.
© SLB Films
Over at Vanraj’s house, he realises what big bag of poop he has stepped into. As he recovers from the hurt of KLPD he received on the wedding night, he walks in on Nandini reading Sameer’s love letters.
Upon finding the truth about his wife and her Italian beau, being the nice and spineless guy he is, he decided to unite them. Because in Bhansali productions and Indian society alike, only sacrifice = true love.
Nandini giddy’s up for her honeymoon/quest and arrives in Italy without so much as an ounce of remorse for Vanraj, or a picture of Sameer. Some effort she was putting into finding him.
After a lot of awkward and near-miss encounters with Sameer, the couple that had better chances of coming across as brother and sister, find Sameer’s mother. An over-excited Helen greets them and invites Nandini to attend her son’s big show and profess her love.
© SLB Films
Nearing the end, as Vanraj realises he has no scope of even a pity hug from the woman, let alone anything else, he takes her to the show to unite her with Sameer. Before he could say anything, even a 'thanks' to her for ruining his life, she is hurried off by Helen.
Now, after a 2-and-a-half-hour buildup for THIS very moment, while talking to Sameer, Nandini changes to declare that she loves Vanraj instead! Who is her one true meal-ticket through Europe and could probably take her to meet more of her lovers if need be.
The final showdown takes place on a bridge where Nandini runs towards Vanraj and basically tells him how now that the chase is over, so is her interest and that she is ready to play wife again.
© SLB Films
Sameer is still talking to the sky he assumes to be his dad, blaming him yet again, for not being able to trap Nandini.
The End.

Therapy, formally known as psychotherapy or counselling, helps individuals deal with their problematic behavioural patterns, emotions and unresolved developmental issues among several other stressors as well.
With the help of a therapist, one can make their way towards resolving certain deep seated psychological problems that they face. This in turn can immensely improve the quality of life as well as make way for the best version of themselves.
But despite its potential benefits, what makes men less likely to approach therapy?
1. Need To Look Tough A lot of men genuinely believe that most of their problems can be resolved by being tough. By presenting a facade of toughness they push away anyone who tries to approach them about their problems with the intention of helping them. Apparently seeking or needing help isn’t supposed to be considered the standard male behaviour.
© iStock
2. Stigma Surrounding Mental HealthMost men these days acknowledge benefits of therapy. However, they associate it with a certain weakness of ‘character’. In most cases they’d be personally reluctant to approach it due to the stigma associated with men’s mental health issues.
© Pexels
3. Difficulty Opening UpIt is an unfortunate rite of passage where boys internalise certain social messages during their formative years. They learn from their parents not to express vulnerability or show a symptom of care. By the time these boys grow up, they’re left unable to trust anyone with their emotions. They’re often confined by their rigid and problematic notions of masculinity.
© iStock
4. Normalisation Of Men Acting OutDue to the gendering of certain emotions like anger and rage as masculine (sigh), men often choose to vent their issues through them. While no emotion should be avoided, including anger, many men treat it like a crutch to navigate their feelings. This normalisation of men acting out as ‘Men being Men’ prevents them from ever addressing their deep seated issues.
© iStock
5. Inability To Express Their EmotionsThe first hurdle some men face is that they may be so out of touch with their emotions that they do not even realize that they are going through turbulent times.
© iStock
It is not biologically determined that men would approach therapy less than women, however certain social conditions and influences play a crucial role in their hesitance. Perhaps men can feel more comfortable with the subject of mental health if they realize how prevalent issues like depression and anxiety are among other men. This would help break the taboo as well as the illusion of toughness.
Therapy can be an important first step to living the most fulfilling version of your life. The support provided by your counselor can help you get rid of toxic habits, improve your ability to make and maintain relationships, and assuage unresolved feelings.

“Sometimes you find exactly what you are looking for, when you least expect it”. This is what came to my mind when I happened to stumble upon the life story of Paresh Rawal, a former monk, who got back to living the life of a normal human and got busy with exactly what he renounced in the first place: ghar, grahasti and the likes.
Paresh decided to take a ‘samadhi’ at a young age of 21, right after he graduated. When students are busy preparing for a postgraduate degree or looking for a job, Paresh had decided to denounce it all and live life like a monk. Sounds a lot like ‘the monk who sold his Ferrari', right?
© Paresh rawal
According to an interview with Tweak, he explained how it happened and spoke about joining a Vaishnav institute, giving up his social and family life and embracing celibacy.
He stated that the reason he decided to pursue this life and the reason he decided on going back to his old life was the same. He believed that he wanted to grow more spiritually and that could continue even if he was living like any 30-year-old.
The hurdles were more than just taking care of finances; there were psychological and emotional barriers as well. He mentions how he didn’t even have a PAN card. However, since he was leading the life of a monk for more than a decade, one would assume that resilience and patience would come naturally to him.He went on to pursue a master’s degree in Public policy, and went on to work as a public policy researcher for the Indian government. Also, he is a life-coach with various TedX talks to his credit, where he shares his own understanding of success and the meaning of life.
Since everything was happening, Paresh happened to get on a dating app as well and eventually found the love of his life while swiping right. He met his wife Bernadette on the app and as they say, rest is history.
Img 2
In a recent interview with NDTV, he explained that it was a conscious decision to get married after having financial stability in his life. Well, this looks like the tale of a monk who might now buy a Ferrari!

Under Virat Kohli’s leadership, India once again came inches close to winning an ICC title but fell agonisingly short, with Kane Williamson’s New Zealand doing the damage on the last two occasions.
Indian batsmen failed to hold the fort on Day 6 of the World Test Championship final and the Men In Blue were bowled out for 170 runs, sparking a huge rage among passionate fans.
© Twitter/SunRisers Hyderabad
While India’s poor performance with the bat gave fans a massive headache, there was one thing that irked them the most, even more than New Zealand’s pace quartet, and it had nothing to do with the on-field actions.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan seemed to have mastered the art of annoying people and he did that throughout the WTC final, just by tapping his fingers a few times on the keyboard and tweeting against the Indian team.
This is great for the game.A country with 5 million beating a country with 1.4 Billion,NZ have come close many times before & are consistently high achievers but now worthy champions.Teams with a lot more resources should take note.Well done the Kiwis #worldtestchampionshipfinal
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) June 23, 2021
While his tweets had no relation whatsoever to how any team performs on the field, it's safe to say that Indian supporters are never in a mood to hear anything bad about their players and always take it upon themselves to show anyone doing that their right place.
The match was in the balance going into the reserve day but then, the Indian batting crumbled under pressure, leaving New Zealand well in control of the game.
Vaughan once again dished out a tweet, demanding an apology from thousands of Indian supporters who had ridiculed him when he predicted that NZ will win the final.
I think I may need a few apologies from the thousands of Indian fans in a few hours for my awful prediction that NZ would win the Test championship final … #OnOn #TestChampionshipFinal
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) June 23, 2021
“I think I may need a few apologies from the thousands of Indian fans in a few hours for my awful prediction that NZ would win the Test championship final … #OnOn #TestChampionshipFinal,” Vaughan wrote on Twitter, taking a chewy dig at Indian supporters who criticised when he predicted that NZ would win the title.
England in their home conditions were not able to defeat New Zealand,
They barely escaped white wash.
you want India to take revenge on your team's behalf ?
We Indians would prefer defeating England in England,
the way we did against Australia.
— mahesh walani (@maheshwalani) June 23, 2021Just believe 🇮🇳 pic.twitter.com/3LO3dWetTd
— Hitman And Kl Rahul KOHLI Dhoni club (@Abusufi59167657) June 23, 2021Actually engalnd can't even win a test series in the English conditions against NZ .Meanwhile this is the first match for india in England this summer . They didn't even had a practice match. This new India team is a team of comebacks. Wait for a month we are coming hard at you
— Keerthy Raghavan (@Raghav_Keerthy) June 23, 2021Did u apologize for underrating India against Australia in Australia
— Ayush Shukla 🇮🇳 (@ayush_sach10) June 23, 2021 pic.twitter.com/BNt91Vd1wu
— Mootapoochi (@loiter_lass) June 23, 2021Vaughan’s tweet came just before the tea break on Day 6 when New Zealand were cruising towards the total and a win for the Blackcaps was all but certain.
However, Indian supporters reminded him that his national team couldn’t even make it to the final and moreover, lost to the Kiwis just before the WTC final, despite playing in their own backyard.
Some even said that they are looking forward to seeing his tweets when India face England in a five-match Test series, starting in August.

The cricketer-turned-analyst has made it a habit of his to tweet negative stuff about Virat Kohli and his team with the sole purpose of riling up passionate Indian supporters who follow the sport religiously.

Unpopular opinion: Men don’t always have it easy.
They are burdened with a lot of responsibilities, expectations and societal pressures that no one really wants to talk about. Moreover, they are also conditioned to keep their feelings and emotions bottled up, not share or express and be satisfied with the social privileges they are blessed with.
However, common Indian men, especially the ones belonging to a middle class background, have their own struggles which are often overlooked.
© iStock
These may include the constant pressure to do financially well, be the breadwinners and provide for their families and basically, be ‘a man’.
If Indian women are victims of social biases, men are not spared either. And, these short films have managed to capture exactly that.
Here are 5 Indian short films that shed the light on the life of an aam aadmi in India and the expectations and labels they are forced to shoulder:
© Terribly Tiny Tales
1. Men Too
The much-needed and powerful #MeToo movement unmasked sexual predators but also ended up backfiring on a lot of men who were falsely accused.
This short film by Pocket Films tells the true story of one such man who falls victim to a false allegation that sabotages his career.
2. Miss Man
Tathagata Ghosh’s Miss Man is an account of a queer man and his journey of discovering himself and his sexuality in a regressive Indian society.
The 24-minute film has won multiple awards and has been even screened in various global film festivals.
3. Kheer
If you thought only Indian women are shamed for marrying again, watch this wholesome short film by Terribly Tiny Tales where Anupam Kher portrays a widower whose granddaughter is upset with the idea of her nanu replacing his wife with another woman.
It perfectly depicts how remarrying is taboo for men as well.
4. Man Sick Rogue
B.Tech at 21, marriage at 24 and kids at 26. This is the timeline that is set for every Indian son in a middle-class family.
Man Sick Rogue taps into the life of an engineer who wants to go against the grain and follow his passion, but is often held back by his responsibilities. The film has won multiple awards at global film festivals.
5. Taandav
Manoj Bajpayee plays a constable who is dissatisfied with life and facing a financial crunch.
Things for him aren’t great at home, neither at work but he channels his frustration and anxiety by doing Shiva’s dance, the ‘taandav’ and doesn’t let his despair show on his face, when he gets home.
Do you know any other short films that highlight men’s issues? Let us know in the comments section.

Travelling is a way of living for us and for our star gazing celebrities, it is a way of indulging in shenanigans, connecting with fans, and also making some money by visiting other countries for concerts or a movie shoot or just promotions. While Visa rejections and Visa delay issues are synonymous with simpleton people like us, there have been instances where a few countries have in fact banned a celebrity. Here are 7 celebrities who got banned for strange reasons:
1. Lady GagaOne of the most controversial and successful singers of our times was once banned in Indonesia after her personal style of dressing up and provocative lyrics angered Muslim groups. She was also called a ‘devil’s child’ who would spread Satanic teaching.
View this post on Instagram
2. Katy PerryBack in 2017, the singer was supposed to perform in Shanghai but was unfortunately banned in China ‘indefinitely’ after she was spotted wearing a dress adorned with sunflowers at a concert in Taiwan in 2015. This gave rise to heavy criticism as in 2014, the sunflower was a symbol of protestors protesting against a trade agreement between China and Taiwan and hence the flower became synonymous with anti-China sentiments.

3. The BeatlesNow you’d wonder why a band full of talented musicians should be banned in a country. Well, back in 1966, on a tour in Phillipines, the band was banned by the first lady Imelda Marcos after the band declined an invitation to have breakfast at the Presidential Palace in Manila. In 1964 The Beatles were also banned in Israel due to the fear of influencing the youth in a ‘wrong way’.

4. AkonThe Lonely singer was banned from Sri Lanka after his music video which showed him dancing around the pool with a Buddha statue in the background and that caused massive uproar in the country.

5. Justin BieberThe Peaches singer offended the Chinese and got banned for indulging in ‘bad behaviour’ according to them. Another reason which was contemplated for the ban was that in 2014, he shared pictures of him at Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo. The shrine is a mark of Japanese militarism in China.

6. BeyonceQueen Bee was actually banned in Malaysia because her shows were called immoral in nature and were prompted to promote ‘western sexy culture’.

7. Snoop DoggThe famous rapper was banned in Norway because back in 2012, he was found guilty of possessing drugs at a local airport. He was also fined heavily for the same.

Soon after losing the World Test Championship final to New Zealand, Virat Kohli spoke about the International Cricket Council’s decision to make it a one-off Test and not a series of more than one match.
"I think it has to happen over a period of three games minimum. It has to be a test of character over three Tests...(that) will be a good measure of how things really are,” Kohli said in the post-match press conference.
Agree with @imVkohli? 🧐🧐 #WTCFinal2021 #NZvIND
— Cricbuzz (@cricbuzz) June 24, 2021
"We are not too bothered by this result because we understand as a Test side what we've done over the last three or four years, not just over the last 18 months… This is not a measure of who we are as a team," he added.
Essentially, the Indian skipper felt that in order to truly establish who is the better team of the two sides playing in a Test match, four innings are not enough and that the competition should be stretched to at least a three match series.
One Test match is scheduled to take place over at least five days (six if Reserve Days are utilised just like it was in the WTC final). If what Kohli is suggesting is implied, it would mean that the WTC finals would run for over 15 years. Given the complexities of various international tours and franchise-cricket tournaments that take place throughout the year, taking out a 15-day gap for the top two teams based on a points system would definitely be a tough nut to crack.
While many considered the skipper’s proposal to make sense, others felt that it was impractical and took away the essence of the ‘Final’ match which, by default, means one last game.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan also made an interesting point:
Where in the schedule would it fit in ?? Are the IPL going to reduce the year of the final tournament by 2 weeks so it could fit in ? Doubt it ..: Finals are one off games where teams/individuals know they have to deliver … that’s what makes them so great https://t.co/MhqHkp5lvH
— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) June 24, 2021
“Where in the schedule would it fit in ?? Are the IPL going to reduce the year of the final tournament by 2 weeks so it could fit in ? Doubt it ..: Finals are one off games where teams/individuals know they have to deliver … that’s what makes them so great,” Vaughan said on Twitter.
Others weren’t too eager to hop on the three-match Finals idea either.
I think 3 match series in a final is not a practical idea.
3 tests = 15 days
3 or 4 Day rest between each Test
Need at least one week preparation
So around one month you need to conduct the final and taking that time from FTP will affect the boards as well.
— Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) June 24, 2021Rubbish. It’s like saying if you lose the toss, toss again
— simon hughes (@theanalyst) June 24, 2021No, He would not say the same thing had India Won. Fox said grapes are sour
— Ramya Rajgopal (@RamyaRajgopal2) June 24, 2021Crib. Batting should have been more mature. We cannot lose the first test of every foreign tour. Adaptability has to be faster.
Also Siraj should have been in places of Ishant
— Dhruv Shah (@dhruvshah92) June 24, 2021This is an excuse given by @imVkohli .Players don't give excuses, you are playing international cricket not Gully cricket.

In another episode of ‘this happens only in India’, a bride called off the wedding after the groom failed to read the Hindi newspaper without wearing his glasses. This incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district, the bride refused to get married to the groom as he couldn’t read when she asked him to read the newspaper.
However, the groom didn’t fail to read the newspaper because he was illiterate or didn’t know how to read Hindi, but, he couldn’t read as he wasn’t wearing his glasses. Yes, the groom was left at the altar due to his weak eyesight.

According to a report, the bride’s family not only called off the wedding but also filed a case against the boy and his family. Arjun Singh, the father of the bride, fixed the marriage of his daughter Archana with Shivam, who lived in the Achalda town under Banshi police station.
The girl’s father fixed the wedding as Shivam was literate, however, on the wedding day the bride’s family gave the groom a motorcycle along with some cash. Both the families were enjoying the ceremony while the bride’s side noticed that the groom was constantly wearing a pair of glasses and then the family became suspicious that the groom had weak eyesight.
After hearing that the groom couldn’t see without wearing glasses, the bride refused to marry him and also asked the groom to read the paper to clarify her doubt.

The bride’s father also agreed with his daughter and said that he thought that the groom wore glasses just for fashion and nothing else.
Yes, you read that right!
Many such cases have been reported in the last few months. Earlier, a bride called off the wedding after the groom couldn’t recite the table of 2.

The launch date for the upcoming iPhone 13 may have leaked and numerous tips hint at an actual date as well. Apple delayed the launch of the iPhone 12 series by a month last year due to the pandemic. However, it seems like the company is on track for the launch of the iPhone 13 this year.
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 13 or it could be called iPhone 12s as well on September 24th. Following the announcement on September 14th, the phone is expected to go live for pre-orders three days later i.e. on September 17th. The dates for the upcoming iPhone series was speculated by GSMArena based on predictions by Wedbush analyst Dan Ives. Ives noted in his research note that Apple might make the announcement the new iPhone series in "the third week of September.”

Apple usually announces a new iPhone on the third Tuesday of September and it seems like the above prediction fits perfectly. Sonny Dickson also shared pictures of iPhone 13 dummies showing of all four models. These dummies are usually used for designing and testing accessories such as protective cases.
While not much has changed in terms of design, the biggest notable difference is that the iPhone 13 and 13 mini may use a diagonal placement for the rear camera. Dickson says that the iPhone 13 Pro Max is slightly larger than its predecessor and all models are expected to be slightly thicker as well. All four models are also said to have a shift stabilisation feature and the ultra-wide sensor is said to get an improved lens with better autofocus. Much like the iPhone 12, only the Pro models of the iPhone 13 are expected to have a LiDAR sensor.

Apple is expected to launch four models including an iPhone 13 mini which will be powered by Apple’s 5nm A15 bionic chipset. The phone is also said to have smaller notches and all variants might feature an OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
Apple expects the iPhone 13 series to be a top seller post-launch, similar to the iPhone 12. The company is projected to produce 223 million units of the iPhone 13 series just this year.
