Under Virat Kohli’s leadership, India once again came inches close to winning an ICC title but fell agonisingly short, with Kane Williamson’s New Zealand doing the damage on the last two occasions.
Indian batsmen failed to hold the fort on Day 6 of the World Test Championship final and the Men In Blue were bowled out for 170 runs, sparking a huge rage among passionate fans.

While India’s poor performance with the bat gave fans a massive headache, there was one thing that irked them the most, even more than New Zealand’s pace quartet, and it had nothing to do with the on-field actions.
Former England captain Michael Vaughan seemed to have mastered the art of annoying people and he did that throughout the WTC final, just by tapping his fingers a few times on the keyboard and tweeting against the Indian team.
This is great for the game.A country with 5 million beating a country with 1.4 Billion,NZ have come close many times before & are consistently high achievers but now worthy champions.Teams with a lot more resources should take note.Well done the Kiwis #worldtestchampionshipfinal— Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) June 23, 2021
While his tweets had no relation whatsoever to how any team performs on the field, it's safe to say that Indian supporters are never in a mood to hear anything bad about their players and always take it upon themselves to show anyone doing that their right place.
The match was in the balance going into the reserve day but then, the Indian batting crumbled under pressure, leaving New Zealand well in control of the game.
Vaughan once again dished out a tweet, demanding an apology from thousands of Indian supporters who had ridiculed him when he predicted that NZ will win the final.June 23, 2021
“I think I may need a few apologies from the thousands of Indian fans in a few hours for my awful prediction that NZ would win the Test championship final … #OnOn #TestChampionshipFinal,” Vaughan wrote on Twitter, taking a chewy dig at Indian supporters who criticised when he predicted that NZ would win the title.
England in their home conditions were not able to defeat New Zealand,
They barely escaped white wash.
you want India to take revenge on your team's behalf ?
We Indians would prefer defeating England in England,
the way we did against Australia.

Actually engalnd can't even win a test series in the English conditions against NZ .Meanwhile this is the first match for india in England this summer . They didn't even had a practice match. This new India team is a team of comebacks. Wait for a month we are coming hard at you— Keerthy Raghavan (@Raghav_Keerthy) June 23, 2021
Did u apologize for underrating India against Australia in Australia— Ayush Shukla 🇮🇳 (@ayush_sach10) June 23, 2021June 23, 2021
Vaughan’s tweet came just before the tea break on Day 6 when New Zealand were cruising towards the total and a win for the Blackcaps was all but certain.
However, Indian supporters reminded him that his national team couldn’t even make it to the final and moreover, lost to the Kiwis just before the WTC final, despite playing in their own backyard.
Some even said that they are looking forward to seeing his tweets when India face England in a five-match Test series, starting in August.
The cricketer-turned-analyst has made it a habit of his to tweet negative stuff about Virat Kohli and his team with the sole purpose of riling up passionate Indian supporters who follow the sport religiously.
