From award ceremonies to Bollywood chat shows hosted by celebs, there’s a lot of glamour that comes along with the industry but at times, on such shows, some actors end up getting in trouble for rubbing other stars the wrong way.

We all know that somewhere these award ceremonies and chat shows might be scripted but sometimes, it so happens that the celebs do lose their cool.
Here are 5 incidents that have happened in the past where celebs have engaged in verbal banters:
    1. Neil Nitin Mukesh Gives It Back To Shah Rukh Khan & Saif Ali KhanIn one of the Filmfare award shows, Neil Nitin Mukesh lost his cool and we also might have been offended if we were in his position.
Shah Rukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan cracked a joke focusing on Neil's name and the actor gave it right back.
In the video, he can be heard saying, “That is an insult for me actually. It’s not right that... I think you haven’t seen my father sitting out here also. I think it is ridiculous on both of you all to ask a question like this. I personally find this an insult. I think you guys just need to shut up.”

    2. Salman Khan, Arijit Singh & Mithoon’s Show DownerThis verbal spat did give fodder to many gossipmongers. When Salman was hosting the Star Guild Awards back then, Arijit Singh won an award for his track Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2.
Salman mocked him for sleeping during the award show and Arijit gave it back by saying, “Aap logon ne sula diya yaar.” It did affect Salman who made fun of the song saying that such songs are meant to make people sleep.
In the same show, Singer-Composer Mithoon won an award for his composition for the same track and when he was giving his acceptance speech, the Bodyguard actor interrupted him and pointed out a piece of paper that was stuck to the composer’s backside.
Salman also went on to say that his singer was sleeping and to this, Mithoon responded to the actor that it was bound to happen as the evening is dull due to Khan’s long speeches. Mithoon’s response didn’t go down well with the superstar who replied saying, “Chal jaa. Nikal yahan se” to which the composer said, “Sir, main aap se nahin darta.”
An eyewitness told TOI, “Salman’s prank backfired totally. He looked very flustered. This was the last thing he expected. Nobody challenges Salman Khan like that in public. Seeing that the situation was snowballing into an ugly incident, Salman went up to Mithoon and hugged him lightly.”

    3. Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Verbal War With Sajid KhanIn 2009, Sajid Khan was the host of an award show. During the awards night, he made fun of Harman Baweja's acting skills which triggered Ashutosh Gowariker.
Back then, Ashutosh was working with Harman Baweja in What's Your Rashee? When Ashutosh was called on stage to receive an award for Best Film for Jodhaa Akbar, he couldn't help but lash out at Sajid for his remarks.
Ashutosh Gowariker said, "I don't like one thing that film industry is made fun of at such award nights. I feel it ridicules the award itself. On the one side, I am feeling very happy that I received an award for the best film. But I don't think the demeanour of the award night has been at a good standard. No offence Sajid and Farah [Khan]. Personal remarks can also be made by me. Fun can be made even by me."

    4. Kamal R Khan’s Heated Argument With Ali Asgar & Suresh MenonDuring the Zee Gold Awards, host Ali Asgar and Suresh Menon handed the Lifetime Achievement Balti Award to KRK. This irked the actor as he took it and threw it on the floor.
Before throwing it on the floor, he lashed out at the hosts saying he was not a TV actor and these awards were meant for those who acted in TV serials.
Kamal Khan gave a tongue-lashing to the show hosts saying they were "Do Rupaye ke Joker". After the heated argument, he walked away from the ceremony.
In a telephonic interview from Dubai to India TV, Kamal Khan said, “This was sheer foolishness. I threw away the Golden Balti, but I did not insult anybody.”

    5. Ritesh Deshmukh’s Verbal War With Sajid KhanRiteish Deshmukh and Sajid Khan have been friends for a long time but in one of the director’s shows that he hosted, he ended up upsetting the actor.
Sajid took a dig at the actor’s sexual orientation and Ritesh simply walked out of the show.
When Sajid asked Riteish if he was gay, the livid actor said, “What sort of a question is that Sajid? First, you call me for your chat show, and then ask me such stuff,” said Riteish.

What do you have to say about it? Let us know in the comments section below.

Without a doubt, one of the key highlights of 2021 will be the series Aspirants.
Whether cracking the UPSC exams has ever been your aspiration or not, the show is mesmerisingly relatable. Its characters are very finely etched, and the actors, great performers.
Without a doubt, it is one of the best web series we have had this year.

One such performer is Abhilash Thapliyal, who plays the character of SK, one of the central characters for the series. You might also remember him as the guy from the “MufflerMan” series.

Apart from being a highly talented actor, he’s also a well-known radio jockey, who has hosted some of the most highly awarded & popular radio programmes that we have in India.

What you wouldn’t know is that the man has a great sense of style. We caught up with the man and had a chat, about what fashion entails for him, and what does style mean to him.
Edited excerpts:Tell us about your journey, how did you start as a content creator?
I started as a radio jockey, and you always have these constraints in your traditional media platforms.
When it comes to social media, you can do a lot of political commentaries, and that is something that excites me, to create intelligent humour. Social media has that kind of an audience.
Depending on the kind of content you create, you will always find your kind of audience. That’s how MufflerMan and all the other characters I have played, started.

There’s this perception that men do not need to be fashion-conscious and that only a few men have an intrinsic style that they are born with and need to stick with. Do you agree?

This is a major gender bias that we need to deal with.
This perception is completely incorrect, and as far as being intrinsically stylish or fashionable, that has got nothing to do with men particularly, it is the case with women as well.
Whether or not you’re fashionable, has got nothing to do with your gender. This is a perception that needs to be broken.

What are some sartorial staples that every guy should have in their closet?

I can’t pass a generic statement on that, but for me, shirts and T-shirts in black, and white, and some blue denims, are must-haves.
How would you define your personal style statement?
Until recently, I was very confused about my style statement. I did a photoshoot, challenging the objectification of women, as in reversing the objectification.
That’s when I realised that comfort has to be the priority, at least for me. Before that, I was very conscious of wearing T-shirts or sleeveless stuff, but I have accepted myself the way I am.
For me, comfort will always be the priority.

Who is that one style icon that you always look up to? Why?

I don’t have icons in mind, for anything, be it performances, acting, or style. I do, however, appreciate anyone and everyone, who’s comfortable in their own skin.
What do you prefer to wear on a date?
My wife and I do go on dates, but she picks my outfits, as well as the menu, so this is a question to my wife, and not me.
What is that one fashion trend that you don't understand or are unable to relate to?
I have been very open to ideas and thoughts in general, and the same is the case with fashion.
And because you’re open to things and open to experiments, it becomes easy to digest trends that people think are weird. That way, you’re non-judgemental to fashion and ideas.
Who is that one historical figure that you'd love to dress up as?
I would love to dress up as Jawaharlal Nehru. Even now, his sense of style remains very contemporary.
At the same time, I will say that I also loved the confidence with which Mahatma Gandhi carried his dhoti & lathi. It had a lot of swag. He owned it completely.
Combining Gandhiji’s Confidence with Nehurji’s style would be a lethal combination.

What has been the best fashion advice that you've received to date?

This is something that at times, most of us forget. You need to be comfortable being in your skin, while trying to create a statement for yourself, especially in the entertainment industry.
What advice would you give someone who wants to pursue a career as an influencer and content creator?
There are certain filters that you need to keep in mind, always. Relatability is one.
At times you start creating a distance between yourself and your audience and start getting into spaces that are very impractical. So your ideas, thoughts and styles need to practical, relatable, and viable.
What do you think of men using cosmetics?
I don’t understand, why do we even need to ask these question in today’s time? We are living in a free world, and we have the freedom to choose whatever we want, whatever we wear, what we want to eat.
Whether someone wants to use cosmetics or not is a very personal choice, regardless of the gender, the person belongs to.
    © Abhilash Thapliyal
Do you have a dedicated skincare routine? Tell us about it?

My skincare routine is very random. At times, I abide by whatever advice I get, for a couple of weeks, then I forget about them completely.
I often ignore how my skin looks and feels, whether they’re properly hydrated or not. I want to be a bit disciplined about skincare.
One historical era that you find extremely fashionable?
Bollywood in the 1990s. We laugh at it right now but just look at the confidence with which people would wear those prints, shades and styles.
One celebrity who can teach everyone else a lesson or two on how to pull off the Indian aesthetic elegantly, when it comes to menswear.
I think it has to be Saqib Saleem. He carries himself with great poise and confidence. He is a guy to watch out for.
    © Abhilash Thapliyal
Your favourite style icon from Bollywood that you would like to collaborate with, for a video?

For style, it will have to be Arjun Rampal, simply because of the way he carries himself. He can be wearing the most basic jeans, and a T-shirt, and yet, look extremely stylish.
One traditional Indian menswear item you believe every Indian man should have in his wardrobe, and why.
A white Kurta. You can pair it with anything - pyjamas, denims, even trousers.
    Do you prefer -
Tailored suits or ready to wear suits?
I am a thin chap, so tailored suits.
    © Abhilash Thapliyal
    Sneakers or Boots?

I tend to go for things that are comfortable, so it has to be sneakers.
Traditional ethnic wear, or something contemporary?
Both, but if absolutely I have to choose something, I would go for something contemporary.
    Multicoloured Prints or Monochrome?
Monochrome, for they work better for me.
As much as people like to bash social media, there’s no denying the fact that a large chunk of our lives is being shaped by it. What better way to really gauge this phenomenon by the rise of influencers over platforms like YouTube and Instagram? Indeed, the world has become one small ‘gram’.
As a series ‘Influencing The ’Gram’ seeks to explore how social media influencers changed the way we think of fashion over the decade, and how for most of them, even though they consider themselves to be ardent renegades, fashion and style contribute immensely to their online personas.

    — Maharana Pratap (@Maharan27050890) May 7, 2021The Bigg Boss TV show star, took to Twitter and had decided to protest at Shivaji Park on Saturday, asking the government to cancel exams for students.
To make sure that he isn't caught, he arrived at the spot in an ambulance. He hoodwinked the police by this act and then staged a protest in the park, said the police.

Since the ambulance service is a part of the emergency, it wasn't stopped at any checkpoint. But, later after getting the information that it was Hindustani Bhau, who had arranged a protest rather, he was arrested.

A hard-hitting editorial published in the US medical journal The Lancet said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “actions in attempting to stifle criticism and open discussion during the crisis are inexcusable.”
    © Reuters
The publication also criticised India’s vaccination programme saying that the message that COVID-19 was essentially over caused the slow down of the vaccination campaign.

The Lancet also called the policy "botched" and "falling apart” at the central level. The journal also noted that the Government shifted course without even discussing the change in policy with states.
The journal says that India must restructure its response to the rise and success of that effort depends on the government owning up to its mistakes. The journal called for responsible leadership and transparency, and “implementing a public health response that has science at its heart.”

With the Indian Premier League now suspended due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, most of the overseas players have successfully returned to their respective countries.
However, the Australian contingent of cricketers, coaching staff members and commentators who flew in for the tournament are still in transit after their government banned them from taking a flight back home within 14 days of living in India.
Cricket Australia CEO: been working with BCCI/IPL to repatriate plyrs, suppt staff, umpires, commentators "as quickly and safely as possible" out of India.

Range of options: Maldives or Sri Lanka
    — Peter Lalor (@plalor) May 5, 2021
As a result, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to make arrangements for their temporary stay in the Maldives,  where they would spend the mandatory 14-day period before they can go back home.
It has not been more than a week since the Aussie contingent made it to the island-nation and rumours of a physical exchange between the recently-revoked SunRisers Hyderabad captain, David Warner and commentator Michael Slater are already making headlines.
First reported by The Daily Telegraph the incident was rumoured to take place inside the Taj Coral Resort in the Maldives where the pair are staying.
if davey warner punches michael slater in an empty bar does it make a sound?
    — holte end holdings (@charmada) May 8, 2021
Both sides were extremely quick to play down the reports, however.
Slater, a former Australian opener, had reportedly sent a text message to senior journalist Phil Rothfield quashing the rumour. "There is absolutely nothing to the rumour mill Buzz. Davie and I are great mates and absolutely zero chance of (having) a fight," foxsports.com.au quoted Slater as saying in a text message.
On the other hand, one of the top batsmen of the current Australian roster, Warner also said something similar.
"There has been no drama," he said. "I don't know where you get these things from. Unless you were here and have got concrete evidence you can't write anything. Nothing happened," Warner added.
Michael Slater said him and David Warner are great mates and there's absolutely zero chance of having a fight.
    — Mufaddal Vohra (@mufaddal_vohra) May 9, 2021
Both Slater and Warner were in news in the final hours before the 14th edition of the IPL was suspended. Slater, who had already moved to the Maldives at his own expense a few days before the entire roster flew there, was constantly firing jabs at his Prime Minister Scott Morrison for taking away their right to go back home.
The SRH franchise’s decision to take away Warner’s captaincy and drop him from the Playing XI ahead of their match against the Rajasthan Royals, had millions of Indians, both Indian and international, come together and support him as a player and a leader.
