It's a hard pill to swallow that we, as a society, are still lagging behind when it comes to equality between the genders.

But then there are some people who are trying to crush stereotypes and try to reduce the notions attached to femininity and masculinity.
Recently, a man named Shardul Kadam revealed that he exchanged mangalsutras with his wife on their wedding day. However, sadly, he was trolled for taking that decision.

Shardul, sharing his story with Humans of Bombay, said, “After the pheras when Tanuja and I tied the mangalsutra around each other's neck, I was so happy.”

His decision did raise many eyebrows including his own family members. “I told Tanuja, 'Why is it that only a girl has to wear a mangalsutra? It makes no sense!' We were both equals, so I announced, 'Even I'll wear a mangalsutra on our wedding day!'" Shardul said.
“For some reason, the girl's family is 'supposed' to bear the cost of the wedding, but I went to Tanuja's parents and told them that we'd split all costs," he said further.
The day before their wedding, Tanuja asked him if he would wear the mangalsutra after the wedding as well - and Shardul said he would.
“Even though a few male relatives weren't happy about it, they didn't say anything to us," added Shardul.
He did make a statement by wearing the mangalsutra but, unfortunately, the newlywed couple was bashed by haters.
"People started commenting- 'Now wear a saree also', 'Do you bleed once a month?' Even liberals started trolling me, 'This is not the way to support gender equality,'” he added.

Well, there are some people who have been supporting him and asking him to ignore the trolls. They even added that he was gutsy enough to take that step and want the couple to keep challenging old-age societal norms.

MensXP too appreciates Shradul for making a statement like this.

Actor Siddharth has been vocal about the BJP on many issues following which he has been receiving death threats for him and his family as well.
Siddharth, in a tweet, claimed that the Tamil Nadu IT cell of BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) leaked his phone number online, adding that  he received death and rape threats after his phone number was circulated among people.
Following this, he has now received protection from the Tamil Nadu Police.
Despite all of this, the actor continues to share his opinions on Twitter, and in one of the recent tweets, he targeted BJP MP from Bengaluru South constituency, Tejaswi Surya.
The MP recently held a press conference where he spoke about “widespread corruption” in the bed allocation system of BBMP (The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike) amid the COVID-19 crisis, however, he also allegedly attacked the Muslim staff and blamed them for the scams.
In a WhatsApp video, he allegedly accused 17 Muslim volunteers of the BBMP’s south zone unit and said they may be responsible for the lack of beds in the city.
The BBMP south zone war room has 205 members, of whom 17 were Muslims. This attack didn’t go down well with Siddharth and he took a swing at him by comparing him to 26/11 Mumbai attack terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
“@Tejasvi_Surya is far more dangerous and just a decade older than #AjmalKasab. Save this tweet. It will, unfortunately, age well,” tweeted Siddharth.

One of the BJP members, Rahul Chahal, attacked the actor and said, “People of this mentality are far more dangerous than ISIS. Their respect for democracy is zero & love affair with fascism & pseudo-secularism forces them to tweet such sh** regarding a democratically elected nationalist leader like @Tejasvi_Surya ji. Shame on you @Actor_Siddharth.”

The tweet by Siddharth irked many people and he is being bashed brutally on the social media platform.

People even went on to say that he has been attacking BJP members to gain publicity as he has a 'failed acting career'.

While the BJP losing the West Bengal elections to TMC was met with celebration by a section of people, what happened post elections is something that left everyone in a state of complete shock.
In the last few days, it was been reported that there has been major violence in the state, as both the BJP and the TMC have been accusing each other consistently of brutality.

Recently, West Bengal BJP released a video using a photo of Abhro Banerjee, a journalist from India Today and claimed that it's Momik Moitra.

According to BJP, party workers Momik Moitra along with Mintu Barman were killed in Sitalkuchi in the post-poll violence, but the identity and existence of 'Momik Moitra' could not be verified.

The video was posted on the official page of West Bengal BJP, which has now been taken down but is still there on the BJP4India handle.

The video has been watched innumerable times now by people on Twitter.
Following the gaffe, Abhro Banerjee took to Twitter himself to clarify that it's not him in the video.
He wrote "I am Abhro Banerjee, living and hale and hearty and around 1,300 km away from Sitalkuchi. BJP IT Cell is now claiming I am Manik Moitra and died in Sitalkuchi. Please don't believe these fake posts and please don't worry. I repeat: I am (still) alive"

Abhro further said, "I woke up a little late this morning and saw over 100 missed calls. Even before I could check what happened, my friend, Arvind, told me that the BJP IT cell has used my picture in place of Manik Moitra who had allegedly died in Sitalkuchi."

"I was shocked as I am 1400 kms away and the kind of misinformation can be quite damaging,"

In the violence that took place in West Bengal, at least six people died and BJP claimed that TMC people killed at least 14 of their party workers.

In the video, BJP showed clips of the alleged attacks on the workers. But, instead of adding pictures of 'Momik Moitra', a picture of Abhro Banerjee was put up.
This has now become a topic of wide discussion on Twitter and here's how the people reacted to it.
Bhai take care. If they come to know you are happy and still alive, this combination entitled only for 2 billionaires, you are calling for trouble. Faltu me khela Hobe...

    — Rahul rao (@rahullllllllrao) May 6, 2021 People are also trolling the BJP IT Cell now. Take a look at some of these tweets.

If you ever wanted to experience a horror show from the front seat, Resident Evil 7 managed to deliver it with great scares. It was the first time players could experience a Resident Evil horror game from a first-person perspective that made the game extremely popular amongst fans. Now, developer Capcom tries to recapture that experience with Resident Evil Village (RE8).
The game builds on the same concepts as its predecessor with improvements in areas that I didn’t even know the game needed. While Resident Evil 7 was commended for its jump-scares and thrilling gameplay, the same cannot be said about Resident Evil Village. Not because there aren’t scary moments in the game, but because as a player I somehow got a bit used to it. Having said that, the game was still scary enough to get my heart racing.
    © Capcom
The game starts three years after the events of Resident Evil 7 in which Ethan Winters recovered his wife from the spine-ceiling Baker House. In case you haven’t played the game or need to refresh your memory, there is a short recap at the beginning of the game that gets you up to speed with the present day. Ethan and Mia are now living in Europe and now have a newborn daughter called Rose. The opening sequence of the game shows the family having a peaceful time in a countryside house while also trying to avoid their past experiences at the Baker House.

Just when you think you are comfortable, Chris Redfield barges into your house and kills Mia. Winters then abducts you and your child without giving any explanation. Soon after, the car that is transporting you overturns and Ethan wakes up at the side of the road with no sight of Chris or Mia. You then take control of Ethan and stumble through the creepy forest adjacent to a village. As you approach the village, you start seeing a cluster of eastern European style houses that seem to be abandoned. These houses are in a derelict condition signalling something catastrophic has taken place here.

As you start investigating these houses, you find yourself surrounded by weird and unpleasant noises. The village acts somewhat like a hub where Ethan will find his first two weapons i.e. a gun and a knife. Soon after, Ethan is ambushed by creatures that resemble werewolves who can break through wooden walls and floors to get you. You need to barge doors and shoot them through these walls in order to survive. While the opening hours of the game does leave you a bit spooked, you then realise that the game is more about telling a story rather than being just a horror game. Sure, the game still has a lot of jump scares, but it is also paired with a lot more fun gunplay than Resident Evil 7.

    © Capcom
Once you’re done getting a few resources and weapons, you soon don’t feel so helpless as it gets easier to defeat lycans. Although it is worth pointing out that Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters are foreboding characters that play a larger role in the story and are the cause of the village’s fall. Sooner or later you will find yourself in Lady Dimitrescu’s castle after which the game’s semi-open world opens up.

    © Capcom
The village and the surrounding area serves as a hub or a horror playground for you to venture out to look for your daughter. But here’s where the game gets a bit ridiculous and suspends the horror narrative a bit as you get introduced to whacky monsters. You will find yourself battling axe-wielding werewolves, vampires, a weird giant baby and so many other ridiculous monsters.

To combat these monsters, Resident Evil Village has a more fluid combat system than the previous game. You will find plenty of weapons that you can use. However, upgrading weapons via a merchant called Duke served me better in the long run. Just like any shooter, upgrading guns help in improving accuracy, recoil control and increase ammo capacity. It kind of reminded me of survival mechanics from The Last of Us Part 2 albeit a bit more simplified. You can upgrade weapons and buy weapons using currency gathered from down enemies. Additionally, you can also buy food recipes in order to craft healing items that can come in handy in tight situations.
What makes Resident Evil Village more of an action game than horror is some of the in-game crafting items you can use to your advantage. You can craft items like mines or certain types of ammo that make it easier to gun down lycans and bigger enemies. You will have an arsenal of tools, weapons and items that will let you easily defeat your foes later on in the game. It somehow removes the traditional feeling of a survival horror game and is more akin to Resident Evil 4’s mechanics. Boss battles don’t really feel like a challenge especially if you’ve got enough resources in your inventory.
My only gripe with the game is how long it will take you to beat it. I managed to finish the game in about 12 hours. If the game had focused more on the horror elements rather than its action-adventure vibe, I would have still been happy. However, since it isn’t as scary as its predecessor, I would have liked to see more content in Resident Evil Village.
The Visuals Are Breathtaking  © Capcom
Resident Evil Village, on the PlayStation 5, looks gorgeous even with its gloomy atmosphere. I’ve been to Romania and even seen some villages that have been accurately represented in the game. Some locations are absolutely stunning to look at but my favourite location has to Dimitrescu’s Mansion.

One can clearly notice the amount of time and effort Capcom has painstakingly put to create environments that will always be remembered. No matter which environment you look at, be it the dungeons, the snow or the inner-roads of the village, everything is a visual treat. The game runs at 60 frames per second with ray-tracing most of the time, however there are slight dips in frame rate when the screen gets a bit busy with many assets.
The Final Verdict Resident Evil Village despite its action-adventure vibe will still be a great experience for fans of the franchise. The game offers the perfect blend of horror and fun gameplay for fans who are looking to get lost in a survival horror game this summer. What’s great about Resident Evil Village is that even if you aren’t a fan of the horror genre, you'll have fun playing it. I highly recommend you to check out this game.
