What happens when two of the most outspoken and controversial individuals have a clash of opinions over Twitter on one of the hottest topics of the zeitgeist? Their followers get a goldmine of memes.
    © Viral Bhayani
And that is exactly what happened when actor Kangana Ranaut had a go at noted author Chetan Bhagat, because of one of his recent tweets.
    © Twitter/chetan_bhagat
Chetan put up a tweet, asking why don’t we have the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which he believes are the “best vaccines.”

Pfizer and Moderna are the best vaccines. They have been out since Dec-2020. Why don't we have them in India yet? Do we not deserve the best? Don't we buy defense equipment from abroad? Is this not a war like situation? Why does the vaccine have to be made here and only here?
    — Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) April 28, 2021
To this, Kangana, who seems to be enjoying picking up fights on Twitter to pass her time, responded, saying this-
Who said they are best? I have friends who took #Pfizer and suffered worse fevers/body aches, when will you all stop hating India / Indian, our own vaccines are much in demand across the world and right now to be #AatmanirbharBharat means boost in our economy, stop being a pest. https://t.co/yy9bYeyeWx
    — Kangana Ranaut (@KanganaTeam) April 28, 2021 The responses to Kangana’s tweet, would suggest that all of a sudden, everyone in India is a doctor now, who are experts in spewing out their medical opinion, after conducting a 2-minute half-baked, Google search.
Indians in US are having side effects with the Pfizer vaccine compared to the non Indians here. It maybe cos of the genetic pool difference. 1st shot - fever, chills, 2nd shot - high fever, chills, dizziness
    — Samyuktha Athreya 🇺🇸🇮🇳 (@Athreyasamyukth) April 28, 2021
Here’s another graduate of WhatsApp University...
Some serious side effects of Pfizer include Bell's Palsy, Anaphylaxis (potentially life threatening) & Myocarditis (Heart Inflammation)!
Pfizer wants to enter 🇮🇳 thru backdoors without conducting bridge trials & even asking for legal immunity from any mishap! Shame on u Chetan!

There were some pretty hilarious reactions too. Even Markandey Katju, a former Supreme Court judge of India, jumped in, with one of the funniest tweets on this -
This is the best vaccine https://t.co/1NgxuELj5d

Luckily, there were a few who were the voice of reason, and made some sense.
People should just take whatever vaccine is available! Millions of people here took J&J vaccine even though they had access to Pfizer. Safety and getting vaccine is most important. Even Dr Fauci has been saying the same thing to all Americans. #VaccinesSaveLives
    — Varsha (@rain_goddess24) April 28, 2021
Ever since the Covid situation exploded in India, and many reports of people falling ill or having adverse reactions of the vaccine started coming in, such debates have been taking place, over which vaccines are better.
With the vaccination drive all set to get into its next phase, such debates are bound to crop up, as we will see more and more people getting the vaccine.
If you really want to understand how the Covid vaccines were tested, and how exactly do each of the popular vaccines work, and why, it is pointless to compare two different vaccines, Vox did a great video explaining it in simple terms, but in great detail. Check it out here-

The fact of the matter remains, that no matter what, get yourself vaccinated, at the first chance that you get. Consult a doctor, and get vaccinated as soon as you can.
Waiting around, for a preferred vaccine, from a particular pharmaceutical company would be foolish. If you’re over 18, and under 45, get yourself registered for a slot, as soon as you can.

In a rather amazing development, Justice N Anand Venkatesh from the Madras High Court said that he isn't fully 'woke' when it comes to same-*** relationships and mentioned that he would make an appointment with a psychologist so he could understand the relationship better and 'pave the path for his evolution'.
    © Twitter/Live Law
This comes after a lesbian couple, filed a plea of protection and the justice had asked the couple as well as their parents to seek counselling on this matter.

Justice Anand, after seeing the whole case, understood that the case needs to be dealt with “sensitivity and empathy”
As there was progress, in this case, the court also issued a few guidelines to deal with this matter and ensured that the couple is treated with dignity and feels secure.

The Judge also admitted that he is himself trying to get over the stigma and preconceived notions based on homosexual relationships.

After the session with the petitioners and the parents, the result of the counselling said that the parents are slowly accepting the same-*** relationship but are still concerned about the stigma and if they would be excluded by society for the same.
The process will take a while and since it requires time and effort, the court suggested undergoing one more session of counselling with the psychologist.
As per the observation of the Judge, he said in the order "I want to give myself some more time to churn. Ultimately, in this case, the words must come from my heart and not from my head, and the same will not be possible if I am not fully “woke” on this aspect."
'Will Pave Way For My Evolution' : Madras HC Judge Decides To Have Psycho-Education Session To Understand Same-*** Relations Better @_Akshita_Saxena https://t.co/PE1khFySqw
    — Live Law (@LiveLawIndia) April 28, 2021
He also mentioned "For this purpose, I want to subject myself for psycho-education with (psychologist) and I would request the psychologist to fix a convenient appointment for the same. I honestly feel that such a session with a professional will help me understand same-*** relationships better and will pave way for my evolution. If I write an order after undergoing psycho-education, I trust that the words will fall from my heart."
The court has also ensured that the case filed on the parent's complaint be closed stat.
Here's how people on Twitter reacted to the Judge's decision:
That is the best response for a decision maker before entering into an unknown or less known territory. Sadly a lot of judges think it beneath them to get educated better on critical issues.
    — complaint.boy (@complaintboy) April 28, 2021When Justices open their minds, you know you are on the right path to free choice and equality, the constitutional rights.
    — MRidiculous (@mridiculed) April 28, 2021These type of judges deserve to be called “Your Honour”. Great to see such open mindedness, such humility, such acceptance of conscious, sub-conscious & unconscious prejudices.

India’s judiciary is in safe hands.
    — ConcernedCitizen (@Concern43673922) April 29, 2021This a great positive response. The country would be grateful for such gestures and honest efforts.

Apple’s iMessage is probably one of the reasons why customers still purchase iPhones at least in countries that don’t use WhatsApp as much as in India.
iMessage being exclusive to iPhones led to the demise of platforms like BBM in the early days of smartphone instant messaging. Apple said in a court filing that porting iMessage to Android smartphones would hurt the sales of its own phones.
Now, new documents suggest that Apple once discussed the possibility of bringing iMessage to other platforms, or at least one Apple executive wanted to.
    © Apple
Eddy Cue is currently Apple’s SVP for Internet Software and Services that includes services like iCloud, Apple Maps, Apple Music and the iTunes store.

In 2013, Cue argued that iMessage should be brought to Android devices according to emails released during the lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple.
Accessed by The Verge, Cue said in the emails, “Do we want to lose one of the most important apps in a mobile environment to Google?.”
At the time it was rumoured that Google was looking to purchase WhatsApp which would mean that iMessage coming to Android devices would remove the need of buying an iPhone.
Cue was worried that Google would dominate instant messaging had it bought WhatsApp. The company already dominated spaces such as web search, email, and other services at the time.
    © Apple
Craig Federighi (Apple SVP of Software Engineering) responded, “Message is a nice app/service, but to get users to switch social networks we’d need more than a marginally better app. […] I am concerned [that] iMessage on Android would simply serve to remove an obstacle to iPhone families giving their kids Android phones.”

In the deposition, Cue said, “I remember the time of wanting to do an iMessage app on Android ourselves.”
“Would there have been cross-compatibility with the iOS platform so that users of both platforms would have been able to exchange messages?” the questioner responds.
“That was certainly the discussion and the view that I had,” Cue said.
Do you think iMessage coming to Android would have made a difference? Would have liked to use iMessage on your Android phone if it were ever made available? Let us know in the comments if you prefer using services like WhatsApp or would have liked iMessage to come to the Play Store.

When it comes to making an impact, especially during the season of the Indian Premier League, there are only a handful of cricketers who can come close to Ravindra Jadeja’s presence.
Coming back from an injury in his thumb which he picked up during India’s tour of Australia earlier this year, the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder has been ‘The Man’ of the hour.
He may not be a leading name in the orange or purple cap race, but whenever he is on the field, batting, bowling or even fielding, the opponents have learnt to be extra cautious around him and they have their reasons.

But a player’s dominance gets amplified when his performance is complemented with some brilliance by match commentators and Aakash Chopra’s “magic” behind the microphone has done it once again.
During the clash between Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings and David Warner’s SunRisers Hyderabad, the three-time championship-winning side were in the middle of a 171-run chase.
    View this post on Instagram
The opening partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis which was worth 129 runs had already done critical damage to Warner’s bowling attack and made it extremely easy for CSK’s middle order to finish the match way sooner than it should have.
By the time ‘Sir’ Jadeja came on strike, he had his work cut out for him and got to hit just one boundary during his unbeaten seven-run innings before his squad won their fifth consecutive match.
But that one boundary was enough for Chopra to use one of his numerous cheeky lines that brought a smile to the faces of everyone watching the match with Hindi commentary.

    — Stay home ️ Stay Safe (@almighty7631) April 28, 2021Jadeja has been phenomenal for CSK this season.
In the six matches that CSK have played, he has batted in five of them, scoring 109 with a high score of 62 runs coming against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore in which he sent Harshal Patel for 37 runs in the final over.
On the bowling end, Jaddu has also picked up five wickets so far and has been fairly economical for Dhoni (6.28).

In an extremely unfortunate mix-up at the airport, the Chennai Super Kings team ended up taking along an oxygen concentrator which was issued to a person for his COVID-19-infected father.
According to a report by The New Indian Express, the equipment was found after two days with the Indian Premier League franchise and was eventually delivered to its rightful owner on Wednesday morning.
This is what happened. CSK team picked up by mistake, took more than a day to retrieve https://t.co/6ZpJXcBAzu

Anwar Ansari had bought an oxygen concentrator from Bengaluru to look after his father's dipping oxygen levels in New Delhi and had to send it as check-in baggage on an IndiGo flight, according to a source familiar with the matter.

However, when the plane landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, the concentrator, which was boxed in a carton, was nowhere to be found at the baggage claim of Terminal 3.
Despite Ansari’s numerous calls to the airlines, no possibile leads were found.

It was later discovered that one of the players of the CSK organization had found the package with their luggage on Tuesday night (April 27) and immediately alerted the airlines of the mishap.
An official from IndiGo collected the package quickly and it was delivered to the struggling family the next morning.
“As per the CCTV footage, the box was taken off the belt by another airline porter and got mixed up with the baggage of their passengers… These bags belonged to the players of the CSK IPL team who had arrived on a Vistara flight at the same time,” the Airlines stated to select news agencies.

CSK were travelling to Delhi for the second leg of the ongoing season 14 of the Indian Premier League.
Based on the special plan established by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to carry out the tournament amid the rampant coronavirus outbreak in the country, only two locations are being used to play the matches at a time.
For the first leg, Chennai and Mumbai were chosen while for the second leg, the venues are Delhi and Ahmedabad.
None of the eight franchises will have ‘Home Ground Advantage’ this season and on the basis of the number of rising Covid-19 cases every single day, it is safe to say that the rest of IPL 2021 will take place behind closed doors as well.

Amid India's current Covid-19 crisis that has heavily dented the country's health care infrastructure, the Uttarakhand government on Thursday (April 29) took the decision to suspend the ‘Char Dham Yatra’.

    © BCCL
The yatra to the four Himalayan shrines of Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath was scheduled to begin next month, somewhere between May 14 and May 18, however, was suspended in light of the rising Covid-19 numbers in the state.

“Conducting the yatra amid the raging pandemic is not possible. Only priests of the four temples at Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri will perform rituals and puja,” said Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat said while announcing the decision.

In what was the eighth consecutive day of India registering more than 300,000 Coronavirus cases, the country created another alarming record by registering around 3,79,257 new coronavirus cases on Thursday.

India has received much criticism for letting the Kumbh Mela major pilgrimage go ahead at a time when the country's health care systems and doctors had become overwhelmed with the sudden surge in Covid-19 cases.

Prior to the suspension decision, the Uttarakhand state government had even prepared a draft standard operating procedures (SOP) for registration of pilgrims and visit in order to let the Char Dham Yatra go ahead as planned.

However, amidst the public outcry on such plans and with Uttarakhand itself recording the highest single-day spike of 6,054 Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (April 28), the state government was forced to review the situation and eventually opted for the suspension of the religious event.
The news of the suspension by the Uttarakhand CM was met with reactions of the Aam Janta on microblogging website Twitter.

    — Ajay KAPPS (@ajkapps) April 29, 2021a much-appreciated decision finally, but I also urge the government to keep in mind the loss of revenue and livelihood for many in the region and try to help them as well.
    — Aayush Agarwal (@QuoraBhakt) April 29, 2021This is a good move. May not so be for the economy but have to keep the lives of thousands of Paharis in consideration. — aditya (@AdityaGairola94) April 29, 2021Finally. Not sure if the people in authorities don't have their own mind or the least, EYES, to see the prevailing situation. But nevermind, we'll get back to this later :)
    — Himanshu (@HimanshuKhiwal) April 29, 2021At least one right choice.
    — Pri_C. (@SilentSilver05) April 29, 2021Good and sensible decision considering the rate at which covid is spreading. All human gatherings must b postponed for sometime.
