As the weekend curfew dawns upon us, the only thing we all are probably going to do is eat, sleep , watch a movie and maybe eat? Well since lockdown vibes of 2020 might be haunting you right now, the best thing to do is to make the best of this situation. Since the whole family is locked up together , you can lead a movie night and pick one of these classic comedy movies to enjoy:

    1. Chupke ChupkeNo introduction is needed for this one as literally everyone I know has watched it multiple times, and continues to enjoy it equally everytime even today. A web sewn with comedy of errors, this one has a certain Mr. Parimal Tripathi( Dharmendra) takes on the challenge of being in disguise in front of his wife’s family.

    2. Khatta MeethaJust like the title of the movie, this is about the bittersweet moments in life. This beautiful  rustic movie teaches you the importance of a bond in a family and won't disappoint you one bit.

    3. GolmaalThis is the OG ‘Golmaal’  that entertained us long before Rohit Shetty’s movie franchise took over our minds. This is another comedy movie starring Amol Palekar who plays the role of an employee, whose boss discourages everyone from having a hobby. After he is spotted at a Hockey match, he lies about having a twin and the spin in the tale begins.

    4. Naram GaramThis comedy movie is helmed by none other than Hrishikesh Mukherjee and tells the tale of a man who lets his lover stay at his boss’ place, only to realise that she ends up with way too many suitors for herself!

    5. Chasme BuddoorThe simplicity of the characters and the great comic timing of the storyline is what you will love. Starring Deepti Naval and Farooq Shaikh, this one has two flirty friends trying to make their friend’s love life a train wreck after he falls in love with a beautiful girl.

    6. Chalti Ka Naam GaadiStarring the legendary Madhubala and Kishore Kumar in the lead roles, this 1958 comedy movie follows  a man who believes that the love of his wife left him for someone else. His two brothers, who vowed never to fall in love eventually fall in love, only to fear his wrath.

    7. AngoorThis is like the ‘ Judwaa’ of 1982. Two pair of identical twins get separated, only to be united years later when their lives entwine in a hilarious manner and a full blown comedy of errors ensues.

Britney Spears manages to remain one of those icons who go down in history for their humongous fan base, huge popularity and insane amount of success, not to forget the kind of influence she managed to have on every teenaged in the 90’s, was unfathomable. One of the biggest hits from this pop icon, which continues enjoying a big space in every playlist is the famous Toxic track whose tune legit ejects you from your place and forces you to just dance.

A song that was released around 11 years ago manages to stay in everyone’s mind till date and keeps coming back with some revamped or remixed version, only to be played louder at a gym or a club. Now how about if we tell you that Toxic has a very non-toxic ‘desi’ connection and that kind of makes this song bigger for us than it already is.  This is not a revelation that we are making from Professor Trelawney’s teacup but in fact SongPsych,  a virtual show hosted by Dev Lemons is where we hear the revelation. It was told that the extremely catchy tune was picked up from the 1981 Bollywood movie, ‘Ek Duuje Ke Liye’. The song, Tere Mere Beech Mein , has a similar tune if you hear carefully.

The producers for Toxic took the two tunes and made their own version for Britney. Now let's try crooning to both of them.

With rising cases of COVID 19 in our country, it seems like we are reliving 2020. Many industry members and actors have been struggling with COVID. Vineet Kumar Singh, who was last seen in Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena, took to Twitter on Friday to share that he, his family, and friends are unwell with COVID-like symptoms in Benaras, Uttar Pradesh. He also shared how they cannot be tested as local labs are crowded with many more cases.
Tweeting in Hindi, Vineet shared, “I’m in Benaras. The drug (FabiFlu) is not available in the market. Private labs have been unable to perform the Covid test for five days. What should I give to the sick? Videos of your promises or your huge crowd rally, which you guys are constantly posting? Damn. Selfless blinds you. Wake up, the common man is dying.”

When government authorities failed to help him, it was his Gangs of Wasseypur co-star Pankaj Tripathi who came forward to help in need. Today, the actor thanked Tripathi for sending him the medicines which he needed and said, while his character in Gangs of Wasseypur was killed by him, the Mirzapur star was his saviour in real life.
"Those who have a doubt, some members of my family, friends are unwell. Even I am unwell. We have received the medicine. Thank you, brother Pankaj Tripathi. My character was shot by Sultan in ''Gangs...'' but he has sent medicines in real life," he added.

Talking about his journey, Vineet had earlier told MensXp, “It took me good 17 to 18 years to finally do something of my own choice and doors opened for me with Mukkabaaz. I came in 1999 and I was just a fresh graduate. When I used to go for asking jobs in Mumbai, people used to explain that I will destroy myself as it's not this easy to become an actor and they used to try and make me understand that I should go back and do something in medicine itself as they used to find my case very unique. I had committed to my father that I will complete my education and that I did and after which, I wanted to do something that I felt connected to. And this lockdown sort of situation when there is no source of income has been with me for years. I have made myself that strong that I can deal with uncertainty. There were days when I used to think 'Will I be able to pay the next month's rent'. So, I have learnt how to tackle the uncertainties. I had to be in the US for a festival where I was nominated for the best actor and I had to meet Robert De Niro which was a one-lifetime opportunity but this virus had its own plans.”
Vineet Kumar, who made his feature film debut as a lead actor in Anurag Kashyap’s Mukkabaaz (2018) is awaiting the release of his upcoming film Aadhar.

It was in 2019 that Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram to announce that he has been locked for Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 and was super excited to be a part of the sequel of the 2008 popular movie. He was to share the screen space with Janhvi Kapoor.

Cut to 2021, things are not even remotely close to how they were. Just yesterday, it was revealed that Kartik has been dropped from the movie and sources told that it was because of his unprofessional attitude, the production house decided to end the chapter, and Karan vowed never to work with him.
DNA had quoted a source close to the production house saying, “Dharma has decided to replace Kartik Aaryan in Dostana 2. Kartik expressed creative differences over the script of Dostana 2 after one and a half years. However, he completed nearly 20 days of shoot in 2019 after reading the same script and agreeing to it.”

Now, things have got clearer and murkier as Karan decided to unfollow Kartik on Instagram putting a stamp on the reports that were floating around yesterday.

But, Kartik hasn’t yet unfollowed him making us wonder what’s his side of the story.

From the industry, Kangana Ranaut came in support of Kartik and bashed Karan mercilessly for how he is treating the actor. She wrote, “Kartik has come this far on his own, on his own he will continue to do so, only request to papa jo and his nepo gang club is please leave him alone like Sushant don’t go after him and force him to hang himself. Leave him alone you vultures, get lost chindi nepos...Kartik no need to be scared of these chillars.... after doing nasty articles and releasing announcements blaming only your attitude for fall out this moron wants to maintain a dignified silence. They spread same stories of drug addiction and unprofessional behavior for SSR also.”

She further wrote, "Know that we are with you, the one who did not make you can’t break you either, today you must be feeling lonely and targeted from all corners. No need to feel so, everyone knows this drama queen JO, you will do very well dear, trust your instincts, and be disciplined. much love."
