Did you see that? Now, that’s one hella way to add more spice and sass to your culinary skills. What’s more, one look at his knife skills and you already know that you need to go to his restaurant at least once. Moreover, people are going crazy over the precision with which he cuts and beats his meat. The way he treats his meat is so satisfying that people are comparing it to food porn, with men feeling jealous of his popularity and women swooning over his salty skills. Thanks to this dramatic finesse, Nusret now has a huge fan following on social media. After all, this guy isn’t called ‘Salt Bae’ for no reason. This has officially become the first meme of 2017.
His meaty endeavours are already breaking the internet and when you have such looks to kill, one can only wish to watch him live in action.

His kick-ass way of sprinkling salt reminds us of those ‘pados wali’ aunties who leave no stone unturned in rubbing salt while complaining to our parents and this is exactly the way they do it.

The #1 porn site in the world a.k.a man’s best friend, Pornhub, just released their year end report, and the numbers have got us SHOOK! According to the site, in 2016 alone, Pornhub users (me and you) have watched 4,599,000,000 hours of video on the site. To put that in perspective, that is about 524,641 human years (!!) Even though Indians rank at #4 in the number of users, we are down at #16 when it comes to time spent on the site. According to Pornhub (eye roll), we take about 8.20 minutes to...umm...exit the site! That is about a minute and thirty seconds less than 2015! Clearly, the adverse effects of demonetization were felt in every aspect of our lives!

Arvind Kejriwal might be the CM of the capital city, but seldom is he ever taken seriously. The AAP leader makes waves in the media often, but the nature of the headlines are reflective of the trolls that come his way. Yet again, he is on the way up on the trending charts currently due to the upcoming elections in Punjab.
    © Twitter
AAP leaders, particularly Manish Sisodia have been dropping hints about Mr. Kejriwal being the desired CM candidate for Punjab and people cannot help but laugh and troll him again.
Kejriwal ji became Delhi CM in 2013..Then he went to Varanasi in 2014 to be PM..now he goes to Punjab to be CM..How did he miss US election?
    — Paresh Rawal fan (@Babu_Bhaiyaa) January 10, 2017 Manish Sisodia asked Punjab voters to assume that Kejriwal will be the CM. Sisodia is smart. He is taking advantage of people who are high.
    — Sagar (@sagarcasm) January 11, 2017 Apart from Delhi & Punjab, Kejriwal might have also liked to be the CM of Goa. But he is not sure about the coverage range of free wi-fi.
    — Keh Ke Peheno (@coolfunnytshirt) January 11, 2017 In fact, the troll page by his own name also couldn’t help but come up with a hilarious tweet.
I will be Delhi CM on odd days & Punjab CM on even days.

    — Arvind Kejriwal (@TrollKejriwal) January 10, 2017 However, the major troll soon got a reply from the Delhi CM who was quick to point out that he stands by his words and that the Punjab candidate would be from the same state only.

If you really love fitness and bodybuilding, then you must have heard about the BodyPower Expo. It is Asia’s largest fitness, sports trade and bodybuilding exposition.  We sat with the man behind the show, CEO of BodyPower, Mr. Nick Orton and discussed the rise of BodyPower.
Tell us the story behind the Bodypower Expo and how you came up with the idea?
    © Twitter
My core team and I, are very much into the fitness and we keep brainstorming about to the possible business opportunities. It was in the year 2006-07 we came up with the concept of the BodyPower Expo. During that time, the market was a lot smaller and the risk associated was quite high. In order to seek the support from fitness experts, exhibitors, and the media, we went to explore the market.  Though we had very little support at that time and since apart from fitness, BodyPower was also about bodybuilding, I happened to meet Dorian Yates (6x Mr Olympia) over a coffee. I told him about Body Power.  He was convinced by the concept and supported us. He got us in touch with IFBB Pro bodybuilder Victor Martinez, who was supposed to do a show at our very first BodyPower Expo in the year 2009. Unfortunately, he was seriously injured 2 weeks before the show. Then Dorian made us meet Kai Greene. Kai was doing pretty good in his competitions and he did phenomenal guest posing at the BodyPower Expo UK 2009. However, the first show was smaller but it made us confident.
After The Grand Success Of BodyPower UK, Why Did You Choose India As Your Next Target Market?
    © Twitter
Before launching BodyPower, I was into the pharmaceutical industry in Birmingham. During my career, I happened to meet with a lot of Indians and I was really impressed by their hardworking nature and the entrepreneurial skills. At that point of time, I made my mind that one day I will also do business in India. However, I was not very clear as to what business. Hence, after the success of BodyPower in UK, India was my next choice.
In the last few years, there are so many fitness expos that have emerged, what is your take on the same?
It is actually pretty good. As long as they maintain the integrity and do business in a professional and ethical way, it’s all good. When I started BodyPower in India, there weren’t any competitors. We wanted to set a really happening fitness expo as we did in the UK. Money was never our primary goal. In fact, we wanted to take the fitness industry at the next level.
So what’s your current and future business plans in context to the Indian market?

I am really excited to announce that we have come up with our own supplement brand by the name of BodyPower Nutrition. We have associated with a few top notch Indian athletes, as the sponsored athletes by BodyPower Nutrition. To name a few, Sangram Chougule, Kumar Manava and Sham Singh Shera are already on board.

For more than a decade, Ravi Shastri helped Indian cricket in numerous ways. As an obdurate opening or middle-order batsman; as a left-arm spinner who was an integral part of the attack and as a long-time deputy to a couple of captains.
No one can possibly deny his immense value to the side, his commitment to the team's cause and his consistency on the field. Post his retirement in 1992, Shastri continued to serve his country off the field. The all-rounder began his stint as a commentator and soon became one of the most popular voices in cricket.
But, his biggest contribution to Indian cricket (in the modern-era of the sport) came in 2014 when he took the position as the team director. His 18-month stint as Team India's director saw the Men in Blue rise from the embarrassing reversal of fortunes during the England tour in 2014 and scale new heights.
Such was his rapport with Indian cricketers, that he was being labelled as a potential coach for the team. However, the moment of truth turned out to be a nasty affair for Shastri who didn't just lose India's coaching job to Anil Kumble, but eventually lost his mind too.
    'Living in a fool's paradise' © BCCL
After Shastri's stint as India's Team Director came to an end earlier this year, the high-profile Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly selected Anil Kumble for the position of Team India's head coach.
Despite being a front-runner for the top job, Shastri was left gutted and disappointed. Rather than respecting the decision, Shastri lashed out at Ganguly for being "disrespectful" during his presentation for the interview. Ganguly, who is also the president of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), was out for a meeting and wasn't available during Shastri's interview.
Shastri's comments instigated a reaction from Ganguly who said: "If Shastri believes that I am responsible for him not being coach, then he is mistaken. To imagine that I am responsible for him not being coach is living in a fool's paradise. There were far bigger names in the committee than Sourav Ganguly."
For a man who was himself making a presentation from Bangkok "while on holiday", questioning Ganguly's absence during the interview was probably a result of Shastri's frustration after missing out on the top job.
    Stirring the pot © BCCL
Some took immense pride in his ability to galvanise a team, while others swore that he was God on the off-side. Sourav Ganguly will arguably be remembered as India's most influential skipper who forged a winning unit from a bunch of talented, but directionless, individuals after the match-fixing exposes in 2000.
But, while popular notion celebrates the contribution of Ganguly as skipper, Shastri in particular feels otherwise. The former Indian cricketer stirred the pot, yet again, by excluding the Prince of Kolkata from his list of most successful Indian captains of all time.
In his list, Shastri ranked MS Dhoni at the top - something that has been duly backed by the statistics. But, what follows later is just disrespectful for someone as great as Ganguly. Naming Dhoni at the top, Shastri listed out Kapil Dev, Ajit Wadekar and MAK Pataudi, in that order.
Now, success in cricket terms is measured by statistics, win-loss ratio to be precise. So there is nothing subjective about this. According to statistics, Ganguly is India's second most successful skipper after Dhoni. India's win percentage in the 49 Tests with Ganguly as captain was 42.6 per cent, while it was 51.7 per cent in 147 ODIs.
So, by excluding someone like Ganguly in the list of India's most successful skippers, Shastri has once again highlighted that he is yet to overcome the rejection as India's head coach.
Cricket fraternity speaks out © BCCL
While Shastri's absurd rant against Ganguly has been the talk of the town, many former cricketers believe that the former Team India Director has probably taken it far too long by going public.
Speaking on the ongoing rift between Ganguly and Shastri, cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar said: "More than Sourav, I think Ravi is miffed with the rejection. It's a new experience for him. BCCI have made the better choice as coach."
“Actually it’s not for me to comment. Sometimes how words are written does not have the same spirit like how they are said. I know both of them really well and I am grateful to both have major contributions in my life, but it is a little disappointing,” former Indian cricketer Arun Lal said.
Referring to Shastri's latest list, former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin said: "It was such a stupid thing to say. Can't he see statistics? It doesn't matter to me what he thinks of people but when Shastri refers to great Indian captains, his personal bias shouldn't be used to insult those who have contributed more to Indian cricket."
"Ravi Shastri's comments only shows his desperation. Kumble is the best choice, he is a hard working person," Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said.
With his intemperate rants against one of the most highly-respected cricketers like Ganguly, Shastri seems to have failed himself. He has thrown away his own legacy, erased his own image as a cricketer who never lost his cool even when under heavy fire.

“I had thought of cocaine as a kind of daydream.” – Sigmund Freud.
During the initial stages of my research, I met a friend who put it quite simply: If you’ve got the cash, someone has the crack. And by cash, I’m talking a minimum of Rs. 6,000 for a gram of coke. Cocaine is relatively difficult to obtain, when compared to weed, hash, heroin or acid. Yet, if you have the money, it isn’t all that difficult. But, make no mistake. Cocaine is the rich man’s drug. We say drug; he’ll say lifestyle. Since time immemorial, cocaine has remained a drug choice; no, a lifestyle choice for the affluent. I’m not saying it. The news reports, the seizures and the countless deaths and rehab cases are saying so.

    © Thinkstock/Getty Images
It all started in 2006, after the infamous case against Rahul Mahajan, son of late Pramod Mahajan—a prominent Indian politician of his time—came to light. Rahul, who had been arrested on charges of possession and consumption of cocaine, pleaded innocent, even after traces of cocaine had been found in his urine. Suddenly, everyone talked about it. A new prevalent culture had come to light and cocaine was in the dead centre of it all. The drug had become the flavour of the season. So much so that KC Verma, then, director-general of India's Narcotics Control Bureau, told the BBC this:
“Unfortunately, cocaine has become a status symbol in some circles.”

    © Thinkstock/Getty Images

You don’t hear about a cocaine-overdose of someone in the lower rungs of society for the simple reason that they cannot afford to spend a whopping Rs. 4,000/- on a few grams of cocaine. You’ll find it, instead, being snorted by a group of people, out of a cooped washroom in one of the capital’s new and rather prominent night clubs that stays open till the wee hours. Cocaine is the caviar of drugs. Not everyone can afford it.

    © Thinkstock/Getty Images
The UN World Drug Report for 2016 says India isn’t anywhere close on the radar of drug dangers in the world when it comes to Cocaine. But, paying close attention to the trade route for cocaine says that India is somewhere en route the destination for the substances.

    © MensXP
According to statistics revealed by the Narcotics Control Bureau, in 2016, five seizures of cocaine were made in the city of Delhi, in a matter of one month, early last year. Most of the convicted in the cases came from the African subcontinent—a territory that falls prominently on the drug trafficking route for Cocaine, and goes via India.  Cocaine was never meant to be brought in to India directly; it was never meant to be the end to a means. The trade route went somewhere from the African countries towards the oriental countries, like China. However, just like any other lucrative business with a viable product, the trade for Cocaine, too, passes through India—not as an end; but, as a means. The influx of immigrants—legal and illegal into the country—indirectly affects the sale, procurement and consumption of cocaine in the country; the more the resources, the lesser the price; the lesser the influx, the higher the price hike.
But why Cocaine? What makes it the drug that qualifies? And if more and more people claim that they never really got addicted to it in the first place, then, how did they become so helpless without it?
Cocaine and its consumption isn’t taboo anymore. People talk about it more openly than they talk about homosexuality. Chances are 5 out of 10 upper middle class millennials have either tried the drug once, or have gone back to it on repeat. Yet, if you ask them, they’ll be quick to tell you that they’re not addicted. They’re right. Cocaine falls under the recreational drug category; which means, it’s used as an outlet.

    © Getty Images
Crack users have revealed that consumption of coke has made them feel euphoric, restless, insomnia and increased levels of energy.  So, why wouldn’t someone want to feel like that more often? Repeated use, of course, leads to seizures, long-term headaches, convulsions and strokes.
Once you crossover to the other side, the use, misuse, or lack, thereof could lead to sudden death. There’s no turning back; even if you don’t realize it.

    © MensXP

    © MensXP
Besides the fact that most of the people consuming the drug come from a place where they can afford to spend a set amount of their income on the drug, it is also worth considering that the kind of users who engage in the consumption of crack are usually the ones on the lookout for an ego trip at the next bend, night club or woman. There aren’t any studies that have been openly conducted yet, as to the mindset of cocaine users; just their financial particulars and incidents and observations to go by. And so, this could make for a lot of guess work, until we have concrete evidence to support the same. Yes, that’s a lot of judgment coming from one writer. But, can we at least agree that while money is clearly never an issue for the crack-loving minuscule community in India, there definitely lies a psychological undercurrent that may need to be looked into on a deeper level.

    © MensXP
Maybe it’s because in the wake of trying to fit in to a group or a class, individuals have lost their own sense of identity. “They’re struggling, psychologically to come to terms with their life choices and the subsequent results. Maybe they’re in denial of the truth, the current circumstances; maybe they’re out of control and cocaine feels like they can get that sense of control back,” says one psychologist, who did not wish to be named. This is not a judgment of the entire coke-injecting population. However, this is a broader outline of the relevant few who have begun to view the substance as a means, as well as an end.

    © MensXP
Cocaine will continue to remain a “lifestyle choice”, just like this article will remain one of the links bookmarked in an endless list of favourites. People will continue to defend their reasons for consumption of coke, just like they will condemn this research and any other question or comment raised about the substance.
Yes, it may not pose a major threat to the overall drug problem; given that the demographic for the consumption of cocaine is still quite nascent. Yet, we’re a young and growing economy, with financial levels on a steady rise. The statistics may not even be worth drawing up at the moment. But, given that we’re a growing economy, who’s to say the status quo won’t change, in the near future?

No matter how much we loved our school days, the English classes, especially the grammar lectures, were not something we would like to remember. While literature was fun and writing skills are a classic guessing game, honing our grammar was a task. But, like they say “Where there is a will, there is a way!” and no matter how monotonous the grammar classes were, there was always some genius knocking at our doors with his or her unique way of teaching. The best part was, no matter how quirky those tricks were, we somehow got used to it and eventually fell in love with it.

Talking about geniuses, here is one guy who is way ahead of his counterparts and perfectly fits the league of uber-cool people. His swag can give ‘Jordan’ aka Ranbir Kapoor from ‘Rockstar’, a run for his money. He is teaching English in the most hilarious way possible and his disciples seem to enjoy this swag. Not only does he sing while teaching them past and present tense, but shows off some killer dance moves as well. Now, this is what happens when you want to go clubbing with friends but your mom forces you to help your siblings with studies.
“You don’t, you don’t write a letter; they don’t, they don’t write a letter,” take a cue, Yo Yo Honey Singh, for your next rap. Just to ensure that the students understand everything clearly, he translates a few lines in Hindi too. Check out this video that will leave you in splits. Don’t blame us if by the end of this, your eyes start bleeding or you start learning correct grammar this way.

I had lost the shape I used to be in when I was in my school days, thanks to the EAT EVERYTHING-DO NOTHING lifestyle.

I started hitting the gym but was neither regular, nor committed. And most importantly, I did not make any changes in my diet. I was still eating those paranthas, burgers, beers and butter chicken. I thought that my 45 minutes of gym schedule will cover up for everything. Sadly, I was miserably wrong and my physique showed no positive changes whatsoever.

I took to reading all about nutrition on all the leading health and fitness platforms. This is when I realized how a changed diet can work wonders. I made a rule not to consume any carbs beyond 7pm. Changed my number of eating times from 3 to 6 and included nuts, cereals, green veggies, lean meats, fish, olive oil, peanut butter and etc in my diet. Whole wheat bread with peanut butter not just makes you feel fuller but also loads you with sufficient calories for the day and of course, it contains good fats, which lowers the cholesterol. I drink at least 3-4 liters of water every day which certainly supplements my fat loss endeavor.

I have made it a point to exercise 5 times a week, no matter what. The time you start doing it right, you start seeing the change and when you notice the changes, you start doing it more religiously. So, it’s a kind of good vicious circle that keeps you on track. Most important is to do it correctly. I read about lean muscle mass plans and followed it to a ‘T’. It talked about how one should cover every muscle each day with minimum rest in between the reps and ending it with a 10 minute cardio workout. I followed suit. These are a few tips I want to give to people-
    1) Sprint instead of jog: instead of jogging for 20 mins at your comfortable pace, sprint for 30 seconds, rest for a min and repeat this 5 times. Your body’s metabolism will be boosted big time and it will burn fat quick.
    2) Work on your abs post-cardio or in a circuit – I found that ab exercises are more effective when you do them post-cardio as the body is already warmed up and it brings out better results on your core area.

Apple has redefined the way we function in the modern world. Whether it was the introduction of the iPhone or the MacBook Pro, Apple has dominated the market ever since. However, a few months ago, Microsoft announced their latest computer dubbed the ‘Surface Studio’ and it is packed with some innovative 3D software, which makes it a very interesting innovation.

Microsoft even introduced a new device called the SurfaceDial, which can be used as a mouse, a touchscreen and even a digital pen. The SurfaceDial can manipulate images and can even perform basic functions like adjusting brightness, volume, colour palettes and the usual scrolling we are all used to. It can even be used to make music on professional software like Ableton and such.
    © Microsoft
Microsoft even introduced their ultimate augmented reality device the ‘HoloLens’ that also works with Surface computers. It is a cloud-based service, which uses artificial intelligence to simulate augmented reality for users. The HoloLens is something that will be highly used by developers (gaming and other technologies) which will make ‘Surface Studio’ the all-star PC we’ve been waiting for.

So why do we think Apple has been lagging behind? Let’s have a look at what they are currently doing. The simple problem with Apple is that they are not hungry enough anymore. They have become lazy because of high sales and are now following other company’s innovations rather than creating their own. Long gone are the days where Apple introduced the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad and the very first virtual assistant ‘Siri’.
    © Apple
Apple launched their new Macbook and even though it is thinner, crispier and elegant looking, it does not push any boundaries. They included a touch bar that nobody really gives a shit about and it is more of a gimmick rather than an innovation. And, that is why they have become BORING. The touch bar can be used to send Emojis (Slow clap for you if you thought that is innovative).
    © Apple
The touch bar might be neat but is it really worth the money? Is it innovative in any way? Sure it is neat, but it can’t do anything that the Microsoft Surface can do.  Having used the touch bar for a few days and I realised one thing; it sure does make everything more inconvenient. I was always trying to open and close menus on the touch bar so that I could adjust the volume or the brightness of my screen. Imagine if you drop coffee or a drink on the touch screen, you are basically fucked because there isn’t even a physical Escape key to reboot/end applications.
    Touch Bar:

What used to take you one click in Photoshop now takes you 15.
    — Dave Pell (@davepell) October 27, 2016 Microsoft used latest innovations in VR and AR to achieve something Apple might take another year or two to develop. We saw people using Microsoft paint and the HoloLens to construct super cool 3D objects which could be transferred to a VR port.
Ok. Break time is over. @Apple needs to get back to being hungry. I hope they’re watching this #MicrosoftEvent
    — Ish (@ishabazz) October 26, 2016 Apple’s touch bar probably has only one use that might justify its inclusion on future Apple products. Apple Pay might the single thing on that touch bar that impresses me. The thought of using a fingerprint scanner to pay for things online is a cool idea, but it’s still something I wouldn’t call innovative.

If you are wondering what the **** I am actually talking about, here’s a quick recap of Microsoft’s new PC that, in our opinion, has been pushing the envelope way further than Apple.
    © Microsoft
If Apple wants to be in the race, they need to be hungrier in order to compete and become more innovative. No longer can Apple afford to live in a bubble.

What’s the most bizarre food combination you have tried? Maggi with jam, ice-cream with french fries, or at the worst, maybe eggplant or pumpkin in a pizza? Well, McDonald’s India is all set to introduce a new range of breakfast items that include Masala Dosa burgers with molaga podi sauce! Talk about Southwest sauce, McDonald’s might soon bring the entire South faction in its menu.
This McBreakfast menu aims at boosting the brand’s business and to attract people so they can come early in the day and try some of the dishes that will be available then. This new menu is a combination of continental and Indian options. For all you guys who have got your hopes high already, you will have to wait for some time as the new menu will be launched over the weekend, initially in Mumbai. The rest of the country will have to wait for a bit to get a taste of these unique burgers.

“We continue to look at inspiration from Indian cuisine and bring it as a McDonald's format which will give you flavours from the west but the familiarity of Indian,” said Amit Jatia, vice-chairman of Westlife Development, which runs McDonald's restaurants in the west and south.
Well, a Masala Dosa burger isn’t the only item to be added, dishes like spinach and corn and hash brown brioches, plain and masala scrambled eggs, waffles and hotcakes, will also grace the breakfast menu. Also, it is believed that this move was made for people to adopt a healthier lifestyle with most of the dishes being grilled and not fried.
    © Facebook
Abneesh Roy, senior vice-president, Edelweiss Financial Services said, “Breakfast is a huge opportunity which is still untapped by organized players. But the biggest challenge is that most consumers still prefer fresh, homemade breakfasts or packaged healthier products such as masala oats. Hence, (demand) will be restricted to consumers who are travelling.”
Although the concept of the breakfast menu isn’t something new and has been around for quite some time now, it’s the desi ‘tadka’ that’s worth looking into. No matter how weird this Masala Dosa burger sounds, it’s too early to judge, because it’s the same place that made the McAloo Tikki a staple diet of the country.

Bollywood surely is pushing the envelope with path-breaking projects. India’s first war-at-sea film ‘The Ghazi Attack’ is hitting the theatres soon and the first trailer is already making a lot of noise. The story of an Indian naval officer and his entire team survived 18 days under water in India’s classified war against Pakistan in 1971 deserved to be told. The film stars Rana Daggubati in the lead role and Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles. The legendary actor Om Puri who died recently will also be seen in this film. The trailer looks gripping and we’re really hoping Bollywood gets this war film right.

Ronda Rousey’s return to UFC was a disaster. She looked out of sorts and couldn’t deliver even a single blow to Nunes inside the octagon. Nunes completely decimated Rousey and her career seems to be over as of now. After taking a shell-shocking beating like that, we don’t know how many actual careers would survive?
But Ronda is not giving up yet. In an Instagram post, she shared her state of mind through a JK Rowling quote and it looks like she has finally hit rock bottom.

It will be very difficult for Ronda to overcome the 48 second knockout but you can never really be sure of what might transpire in the future. Being a champion is a choice and life is all about putting up a fight to make a comeback when nobody believes you can do it. We are rooting for her to pick up the pieces and fight back, are you?

Rajnath Singh promised a probe into the allegations made by BSF jawan Tej Bahadur Yadav this very morning and it seems like a façade considering what just happened. The video which showed Yadav very clearly pointing out the awful state of food being supplied to the armed forces has gone massively viral for the past two days. And, that seems to be the undoing of that brave BSF jawan.
Tej Bahadur Yadav, while talking to India Today, said that he had been transferred from the BSF camp to the headquarters and assigned a plumber’s job. Elaborating on the whole issue which has really blown up, making national news, he said, “I am not afraid of losing my job...I have shown what the reality is at the post, if soldiers [are] benefited because of me, then I am ready to fight”
    © Twitter
And this isn't where this particular story ends. According to one report, he was also pressurized to take the video down by the BSF top brass. The BSF, in return, offered a very crass explanation of the entire episode, directly pointing out flaws in Tej Bahadur’s character instead.
"Constable Tej Bahadur as an individual has a difficult past. From initial days of his career, he needed regular counselling. Different correction mechanics have been applied for the individuals welfare as he was habitual offender of absenteeism without permission, chronic alcoholism, misbehaving and using force with superior officers and certain other acts against good order and discipline," rediff.com quoted the BSF statement as saying.

While the video points out to a rotting and corrupt system that’s in place in our armed forces, the Indian government must take swift action apart from the customary committees being set up after incidents like these.

A few days ago, the nation woke up to the saddening news of Om Puri’s untimely demise. Aged 66, the veteran actor lost the battle to death after a heart attack struck him.
    © Filmfare
His death left the whole of film fraternity in a state of shock and the nation just couldn’t deal with the terrible loss. Om Puri wasn’t just an actor par excellence, he was a legend.
Naseeruddin Shah, another veteran who, along with Om Puri changed the face of Indian cinema, remembered how Om Puri once saved his life in his autobiography 'And Then One Day: A Memoir' and it only makes us miss Om Puri more!
    © Twitter
Shah narrates how he was once attacked by a ‘friend’ Jaspal and how Om Puri jumped to his rescue.
"While the shooting for 'Bhumika' (1977) was on, Om and I were in the middle of dinner when Jaspal, whom I had kept well away from for some time now, also entered and greeted Om. We ignored each other but, eyes fixed on me, he passed to sit on another table behind me, so I thought." He wrote in his autobiography.
"After a while, I was reminded of his presence by what felt like a short sharp punch in the middle of my back. I started to rise, wearily preparing myself for another free-for-all. Before I could move, Om with a strangled cry lunged at something behind me. I turned to see Jaspal holding a small knife, its point dripping blood, his hand raised to strike again, and Om and two others grappling to subdue him," he narrated the entire incident in the book.
The hotel manager refused to let Shah to be taken to a hospital until the police arrived and Om Puri argued with them to the best of his capacity in the meanwhile. "Om returned to inform me that Jaspal had been taken to the kitchen and was being given the treatment. He wanted to take me to a doctor but was thwarted by the restaurant staff refusing to let us move till the police arrived.
"A sizeable crowd had collected by now, the muscle in my back was beginning to go into spasm, blood was soaking my shirt back and had begun its progress down my trouser seat. Om made the cardinal error of climbing in as well without permission and managed to rile the boss-man, thereby asking the cops to be gentle with me. He was ordered to get off and after considerable pleading with the goon in charge was allowed to stay. Neither of us had an idea where we were headed but I prayed it was not the police station. The bleeding had not seized, the pain was getting intense and these cops obviously had not quite understood the situation. After a few cursory questions to us, and some garbled transmissions over the radio in Marathi, we arrived at Cooper Hospital in Juhu”.

Shah called him a ‘guardian angel’ in his excerpt and we couldn’t agree more! Om Puri, you shall always be remembered. R.I.P.

    The Dream
It all started with a dream to become a fitness model. The thought was there but one look in the mirror would shatter that dream. I was a 80 kilo fat dude who was dreaming too big. The desire however, was too intense and I had made up my mind. I had set a timeframe from myself, and started on the journey.
The Process The date was 4th November 2012 when I met the man who transformed my life forever-my dietician and fitness trainer, Khushru Cooper. He designed my diets and chalked out a rigorous workout schedules. I used to be a guy would feast off street-food almost every day.  Cutting all of that was very difficult and the initial diet plans were nearly impossible to follow. That’s when I discovered an amazing thing about the human mind- it can push you to do seemingly impossible things if you condition it in the right way.

We started off by cutting fats, cycling carbs and increasing the protein intake. First focus was on the core and the legs. Lot of people ignore leg workouts, without realizing that legs is the most important body part in any workout plan.  3 days in the week were dedicated to doing legs, no matter what. If it pains, be it. The non-leg days were divided equally between upper body and cardio. This schedule lasted for 2 months. In these 2 months, I dropped 8 kilograms. Now with major fat deposits reduced, I moved on to an advanced workout, for acquiring muscle mass and strength. The diet had more of protein and good carbs and I worked two body parts per day. I was allowed 1 cheat meal in a week, to replenish the glycogen store and regulate the body’s metabolism.

Through the course of the next 12 odd months, we kept on tweaking the diet plans and workout schedules. In Feb 2014, I quit my job and dedicated all my time and energy in achieving the dream physique. In May 2014, two months before the shoot were the toughest and months of my life. My patience, determination and motivation were put on the line. I worked out six times a week and twice a day, everyday. Weights in the morning and cardio in the evening. In these 2 months, boiled chicken and protein shakes were my only sources of food.

Last 2 days before the shoot, I had to stop having water and salt as well. It was tough, very tough but then again, my passion and motivation was too intense. Finally, after a year and a half, I was able to achieve my goal of having less than 9% body fat without taking any shortcuts.
    The Learning
Though the dream of being a model and an actor is still unaccomplished, the biggest learning that I took away is that no goal is too big to achieve, and hard work always pays off. I acquired a very strong passion for fitness and understood the intricacies of diet and the the amazing science of body. Fitness is an attitude and it is a way of life. It builds your character and gives you confidence like very few things in life do. It’s a love affair between your mind and your body.
    The Way Ahead
It’s been more than 2 years since this shoot, but I still follow a strict diet plan and workout regularly. Working out is an addiction, and the healthiest of them all. Once it kicks in, it never leaves you. Fitness is a field that lacks awareness and a proper education. The goal is to professionally take up fitness at some point in the near future and help people in leading a healthier and a fitter lifestyle.

If yo hate Air India and have always had a horrendous experience then you are not the only one going through it. Apparently fliers the world over unanimously agree on it being a pretty crappy airline when it comes to service. Bloomberg’s latest report on airlines reveals that if you fly with the wrong carrier, your chances of being delayed are increased by 55%.

FlightStats, and aviation insight company has released the best and the worst airline company list. Unsurprisingly, Air India ranks third in the worst carrier list. Here are the complete listings:
    World's best airlines of 2016 1. KLM – 11.47 percent
    2. Iberia – 11.82 percent
    3. JAL – 12.2 percent
    4. Qatar Airways – 13.66 percent
    5. Austrian – 14.26 percent

    8. Air China – 32.73 percent
    9. Korean Air – 31.74 percent
    10. Hainan Airlines – 30.3 percent
Of course, the airline didn’t take the accusation too well and a response came out quickly. "We totally disagree with the report published by FlightStats about AI”, Dhananjay Kumar, the spokesperson said. The official statement also mentioned how the reports were actually fabricated. "Initially it seems that the report is fabricated, so AI management will investigate the report till the end”.

India ranks #4 and looking at the trending searches it’s safe to say that we are not surprised at all. According to Pornhub, “Most countries take great pride in their nationality, but India takes it to a whole other level as made evident by their top searches on Pornhub. The majority of searches (top, relative and gaining) include ‘Indian’. One top term that came seemingly out of nowhere to make it into the top 10 list was ‘Indian aunty with young’, flying up to the top by 81 spots. India’s own Sunny Leone is, again, the number one searched pornstar in the country and ‘Lesbian’ makes it to the number two spot in the top categories.”

More than half of the fat loss industry is based on lies by either supplement companies or the ‘alternative food’ industry. The other half is fuelled by the desperation of fat people looking for shortcuts. This pill, that food, magic detox water and a whole bunch of crap that’s simply not necessary, is being sold and people are still getting fatter and unhealthier. The reason is simple - the fancier you get with your eating, especially without guidance, you are bound to fail. One latest such trend is to eat brown bread in place of rotis. If you are doing so, here’s what you need to know.
Brown Bread Is Processed With Added Color. It’s Not Always What It Is Advertised As
    © Thinkstock/Getty Images
Brown bread, despite being advertised as made from whole wheat, is not really made from 100% whole wheat flour. It’s usually a mixture of refined flour and whole wheat flour. Moreover, a lot of companies just add color to make the bread brown, so as to trick people into thinking that it’s brown wheat bread. The ‘modern’ and hurried fermentation process of making bread robs the wheat of its nutritional value as well.
Brown Bread Is Heavily Mixed With Preservatives. Roti Can Become Stale Overnight!
    © Thinkstock/Getty Images
The max a loaf of brown bread can go without perishing is no more than a week.  That too, if you put it in a refrigerator! A roti goes stale in a night. It’s simple; breads are mixed with considerable amounts of preservatives while rotis aren’t. Roti are cooked straight from fresh whole wheat flour.  Still doubting it? Test it for yourself.
Rotis Are Full Of Dietary Fiber, Are An Ample Source Slow Digesting Carbohydrates And A Solid Source Of Potassium And Sodium
Since there’s no processing, fermentation and preservatives involved, the nutrient content of the roti remains intact. It’s a great source of slow digesting carbohydrates and a very decent source of fiber. Two other minerals that are present in abundance in whole wheat are potassium and magnesium.
You WON’T Get Fat Eating Rotis. You Are Not Making A Healthy Choice By Replacing It With Brown Bread!
    © YouTube
Please try to wrap your head around the fact that consumption of rotis will not make you fat. If you eat it in moderation, it won’t mess with your weight, whatsoever. If you over eat, then of course, any type of food will make you put on fat. Replacing rotis with brown bread is not a wise choice. In fact, it is a really stupid choice.
