Image: Getty LOS ANGELES: Beyonce?s hit album Lemonade and world tour made her the highest-paid woman in music in 2017, according to an annual Forbes list on Monday, edging out Britain?s Adele and pop star Taylor Swift. The R&B singer earned some $105 million from record sales and from her Formation concert tour, according to Forbes. She also has her own Ivy Park fashion line and other business interests. Adele, whose 25 album broke first-week U.S. sales records in 2015 and who completed her first major tour since 2011, made the second place with an estimated $69 million, despite having no major endorsements for other products. Swift, who topped the last year?s list with $170 million in estimated earnings, raked in $44 million this time despite having finished her 1989 world tour. The singer is expected to see her earnings rise significantly in the next 12 months courtesy of her new album Reputation ? the best-selling album of 2017 ? and an upcoming tour. Canadian superstar Celine Dion took the No.4 spot, earning some $42 million after taking a break from her Las Vegas residency following the death of her husband Rene Angelil in January 2016. Forbes compiled the list after estimating pre-tax income for the 12 months from June 2016 to 2017, based on interviews with managers, agents, lawyers and some of the stars. It also looked at data from the Pollstar, the Recording Industry Association of America and tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan. The full list can be seen at Forbes.com

LOS ANGELES: Pop star Pink soared to the top of the US Billboard 200 album chart on Monday with one of the year?s biggest album sales debut, beating out new albums from rapper Gucci Mane and rocker Beck. Beautiful Trauma ? Pink?s seventh studio album ? sold 408,000 album units in its first week. This comprised sales from albums and songs and streaming consumption, according to figures from Nielsen SoundScan. The strong first week sales are the biggest debut for a female artist this year and the fourth biggest album debut of 2017, coming in behind Kendrick Lamar?s Damn., Drake?s More Life, and Ed Sheeran?s Divide. The Billboard 200 chart tallies units from album sales, song sales (10 songs equal one album), and streaming activity (1,500 streams equal one album). Gucci Mane?s Mr. Davis debuted at No. 2 with sales of 70,000 album units while Beck?s Colors opened at No. 3 with 46,000 album units. Singer-songwriter St. Vincent was the only other new entry in the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart with her album Masseduction at No. 10. On the Digital Songs chart, which measures online single sales, alt-rockers Imagine Dragons climbed one spot to the top with Thunder. Lin-Manuel Miranda?s star-studded Puerto Rico hurricane relief charity single ?Almost Like Praying? dropped from No. 1 to No. 51.
