  2. 'Sanju' is enjoying a stellar spell at the box office and not only has it given Ranbir Kapoor's career a new steady direction, but has also put Sanjay Dutt in a new light. One of the main focuses in the movie was on the women in his life and while the movie tells us he had over 350 women in his life, there were a few who were super important and an essential part of his life but had no mention in the movie. 1. Trishala Dutt We are guessing this was to guard the privacy of his eldest daughter, which makes a lot of sense. She is his daughter from his marriage with Richa Sharma and has been living in the US all her life. Trishala shares a great rapport with Sanjay's current wife Manyata and her half siblings as well. ð¤ð A post shared by Trishala Dutt (@trishaladutt) on Mar 1, 2018 at 9:22pm PST Complete â¤ï¸ðð» #mybeautifulfamily A post shared by Trishala Dutt (@trishaladutt) on Dec 31, 2017 at 1:38am PST 2. Mahuri Dixit The two were apparently dating for a long time and rumour has it that Madhuri requested Rajkumar Hirani to not include her name or mention her in the script anywhere. The couple was reportedly dating for a while and B-town was abuzz with their romance. © Twitter 3. Rhea Pillai The couple met in 1998 when Dutt's life was in turmoil. It is believed that she helped him find direction during that phase and while their marriage didn't last for the longest time, Rhea in an interview maintained that they remained friends even after the divorce in 2008. © Twitter 4. Richa Sharma She made her debut with Dev Anand's 'Hum Naujawan' in 1985 and was also Sanjay's first wife. The couple fell in love and got married in 1987 and eventually Richa gave birth to Trishala. Richa passed away after fighting a battle with cancer and it broke Sanjay emotionally to quite an extent. © Twitter 'Sanju' tried to give an insight into the life of Sanjay Dutt and gives a different perspective which never came under the media glare. Ranbir Kapoor is raking in a lot of praise for the titular role and has nailed the look to perfection. The transformation video is actually unbelievable. In case you haven't' watched the movie, you sure are missing out on a piece of excellent cinema. Also, in case you are not a Sanjay Dutt fan, you can still watch it for Ranbir Kapoor.

  4. Naqeebullah's family counsel Faisal Siddiqui speaking to Geo News outside Supreme Court on March 21, 2017. Photo: Geo News screen grab1 ISLAMABAD: Faisal Siddiqui, who is the counsel of Naqeebullah?s father, said on Wednesday that the Supreme Court's order regarding the formation joint investigation team (JIT) to probe case did not mention any time frame. While speaking to Geo News outside the apex court, he remarked that the "court?s order did not include any mention of time frame for the JIT", adding that maybe the written order will have that information. The legal counsel also shared they had specifically requested to include officers from other institutions in the JIT. However, the request was dismissed by the court. "That court has ordered that the JIT will only include personnel of Sindh police department," he said. ?The court has directed the Sindh police to ensure its [JIT?s] security as well as ensure that elders such as Naqeebullah?s father are not threatened directly or indirectly.? Regarding the case proceedings, Siddiqui said: "for the time being, his [Rao Anwar's] legitimate accounts have been unfrozen and contempt proceedings against him have been dropped.? Suspended Malir SSP Rao Anwar, wanted in the Naqeebullah Mehsud killing case, was arrested from outside the Supreme Court on Wednesday after he appeared in the apex court. Anwar, removed from his post, was wanted in the murder case of Mehsud, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan, who, among three others, was killed in a fake police encounter in Karachi on January 13 on Anwar's orders. Chief Justice Nisar expressed dismay at Anwar's continuous absconding in the case despite repeated summons and safety guarantees by the apex court. During the hearing, the chief justice also ordered the formation of a JIT headed by Sindh Police?s Additional IG Aftab Pathan and comprising four senior officers of the provincial police to probe the case.
  5. ISLAMABAD: In the backdrop of the recent Supreme Court?s judgment on the Orange Line Train, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday tweeted that Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif had ?conveniently forgotten to mention Supreme Court restrictions and criticism of Orange Line project in the judgment on the issue.? Imran added that the chief minister had especially forgotten the scathing critique on how the environment and preservation of heritage sites were ignored and how these must be taken into consideration. On Friday, the Supreme Court dismissed the decision of the Lahore High Court halting work on selected sites of the Orange Line Metro Train project. Although the apex court has allowed the Punjab government to go ahead with the project at the same speed, the bench has set 31 conditions to ensure the project's transparency. In a series of tweets, Khan questioned how project worth Rs 200 billion was undertaken without a proper feasibility study. The PTI chairman also claimed that the Sharifs are interested in showcasing expensive projects for election campaigns. Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday visited the Orange Line Metro Train project site to have an overview of the work, a day after the Supreme Court allowed the provincial government to continue construction work on the project. CM Punjab visits Orange Line project site after SC verdict The apex court on Friday had dismissed the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) halting work on selected sites of the project Shehbaz said that the project will provide people with improved transportation services and the delay will be compensated for by hard work and commitment. On Friday while talking to media the chief minister blamed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf for the 22-month delay caused in the construction of the project. "The PTI had submitted an application to the Supreme Court. Then, as hidden enemies strike, they did the same in the Lahore High Court. The revenge they have taken is not from me. They have taken revenge from the poor people of the city."
  6. US President Donald Trump holds a bilateral meeting with President of the Philippines Rodrigo Duterte alongside the ASEAN Summit in Manila, Philippines November 13, 2017. Photo: Reuters MANILA: US President Donald Trump said on Monday he had a ?great relationship? with his Philippine counterpart, Rodrigo Duterte, while a White House official said human rights got only a brief mention when the two met on the sidelines of an Asian summit. Their meeting was one of the most anticipated of the summit of East and Southeast Asian leaders in Manila, with human rights groups pressing Trump to take a tough line on Duterte over his bloody war on drugs, in which thousands of people have been killed. ?We are your ally. We are an important ally,? Duterte told Trump at the beginning of their talks, according to reporters allowed in to the meeting room. Trump replied: ?We?ve had a great relationship. This has been very successful. And the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) conference has been handled beautifully by the president in the Philippines.? When a reporter asked Trump if he would raise human rights at the meeting, Duterte said: ?Whoa, whoa. This is not a press statement. This is the bilateral meeting.? A Philippines government spokesman later said human rights were not raised. However, White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said the topic was mentioned briefly. ?The conversation focused on ISIS (Islamic State), illegal drugs, and trade. Human rights briefly came up in the context of the Philippines? fight against illegal drugs.? Duterte, who has spoken highly of Trump, said last week he would tell the US president to ?lay off? if he were to raise accusations of rights violations. Duterte has been called the ?Trump of the East? for his brash style and provocative language. Trump was criticised in May for praising Duterte during a phone call for the ?great job? he was doing to counter illegal narcotics. More than 3,900 people have been killed in a war on drugs that Duterte declared when he took office last year. His government says the police act in self-defence, but critics say executions are taking place with no accountability. The United States and the Philippines, a former US colony, have been strategic allies since World War Two. But their relations have been strained by anti-US outbursts from Duterte and his enthusiasm for better ties with Russia and China. However, Duterte clearly appears to be getting on better with Trump than with his predecessor Barack Obama. The two leaders seem to have warmed to each other after meeting for the first time on Saturday at an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) group meeting in Vietnam. On Sunday, Duterte crooned hit Filipino love song ?Ikaw? (You) at a gala dinner for summit leaders in Manila, saying it was on ?the orders? of Trump. One of the song?s verses, translated from Filipino, begins: ?You are the light in my world, a half of this heart of mine?. ?Ladies and gentlemen, I sang uninvited, upon the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States,? Duterte said later, according to the ABS-CBN news channel. Trump lavishly praised Duterte for successfully hosting the summit meetings. ?Rodrigo,? he said, ?I would like to commend you on your success as ASEAN chair at this critical moment in time, and in the association?s history.? Duterte?s Communications Secretary Martin Andanar told reporters the two leaders got on well, after a tense relationship between Duterte and Obama. ?The issue between President Duterte and former President Barack Obama is a thing of the past,? Andanar said. ?They really hit it off,? he said of Trump and Duterte.
  7. ISLAMABAD: Following the International Court of Justice?s verdict on Thursday barring Pakistan from Indian spy Kulbhushan Yadav?s execution till the end of proceedings, Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf Ali said that the court did not take up the matter of consular access. The AG was addressing media representatives in Islamabad, where he said that India had initially denied that Kulbhushan Jadhav is its citizen. ?It took India a year to accept Jadhav as its citizen,? he said. ICJ stays execution of Indian spy Jadhav pending final decision Pakistan shall take all measures to ensure Jadhav isn't executed till court's final decision: ICJ ICJ verdict: Sartaj says no compromise on security matters ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said issuing of stay by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in interim case of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav is not... APP adds: AGP Ausaf Ali said the ICJ?s decision has not changed the status of Kulbhushan Jadhav's case in any manner. According to a statement issued by AGP office, Ashtar Ausaf said, "As far as Pakistan is concerned, the court's decision today has not changed the status of Jadhav's case in any manner.? In our submissions on May 15, Pakistan had assured the court unambiguously that Jadhav would be provided every opportunity and remedy available under the law to defend his case. "We are confident that India would not be able to hide the subversive activities it is trying to carry out through its agents like Jadhav. India has no substance in the case," he said. He further said that Jadhav still has ample time to petition for clemency. To recall, Pakistan had in its presentation on May 15, proposed to the court that a final hearing be held on the merits and maintainability of the case as early as possible, he added. ?We are determined to pursue this case to its logical end. In today's interim order, the ICJ has stated that by way of provisional measures, the status quo be maintained in the case of Jadhav," he said and added, "The court has clearly underscored that the provisional measures are without prejudice to the final determination of the merits and jurisdiction of the case.? Ashtar said the provisional measures are a procedural process only to enable the court to have full consideration at a later hearing. These measures have no bearing whatsoever on the final decision of the court, he added. He said Pakistan attended the hearing out of its utmost respect for the court and pursuant to the established jurisprudence that the challenge to jurisdiction can be made via appearance and not by abstaining from the process. In addition, Pakistan attended because of its conviction that the only way to resolve all outstanding issues is through peaceful means.
  8. There was no mention of Indian businessman Sajjan Jindal in meeting between the prime minister and chief of army staff, said Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb, adding that the news report which made rounds on Thursday was incorrect. "Jindal is a friend of the prime minister and met him in his personal capacity," she said in a statement issued on Friday. On May 11, a news report quoted official sources as saying that during a meeting Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken COAS General Qamar Bajwa into confidence over Jindal's visit to Pakistan. The news report read that Pakistan's civil leadership had informed high-level officials of the army that the recent meeting between Nawaz and Jindal was a part of back-channel diplomacy. It further stated that the COAS had also informed his officials about the matter. Read: Nawaz, Jindal meeting part of back-channel diplomacy In April, Jindal made an unannounced visit to Pakistan and met Nawaz. Jindal, who is also said to be accompanied by other businessmen, met the Pakistani prime minister in his personal capacity in Murree, where the premier had gone for a private trip. The meeting came at a time when India and Pakistan were going through tense times – Indian security forces brutality being at an all time high in Kashmir, along with the contention over the agent of Research and Analysis Wing, Kulbhushan Jadhav. Nawaz’s daughter had also tweeted over the matter, writing Jindal is an old friend of the prime minister and that there was nothing 'secret' about the meeting and should not be blown out of proportion.
