Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa has turned out to be the biggest grosser of the year 2021 leaving behind the likes of Sooryavanshi and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Sukumar directorial has also become only the 7th South Indian film to hit Rs 200 crore at the domestic box office. 

Not just the box office records, Pushpa is also receiving love from celebrities and people on social media. And the latest one to praise the film was Mahesh Babu. 

He took to Twitter praising the film and Allu Arjun’s performance in it. He further appreciated the director Sukumar and music director Devi Sri Prasad. 

His tweets praising the film surprised almost everyone as reportedly he was the first choice for the film before getting replaced by Allu Arjun.

While a lot of people were left surprised by Mahesh Babu’s gesture, there were some who criticised him heavily for completely ignoring the lead actress of the film Rashmika Mandanna.

Reacting to Mahesh Babu’s tweet for not mentioning Rashmika at all, one user replied, “Why hatred on Rash??” while sharing a still of the actress from the film.  

Another tweeted, “Huge disrespect from you!! Didn't even mentioned about female lead”.  

One user mentioned how Mahesh Babu acts weird sometimes saying, “could have mentioned rashmika atleast!! she played an integral role and on top that, her character is very important for the progression of the story. sometimes you act so weird”.

Pushpa: The Rise - Part 1 marked the official introduction of Allu Arjun to North India. 

The film has worked well in Hindi markets and continues to record solid collections from its dubbed Hindi version.
