At Lata Mangeshkar’s funeral on February 6, Shah Rukh Khan was seen offering his prayers and “blowing” duas.  

A lot of people praised SRK for his gesture and in fact, a picture of the actor with his manager Pooja Dadlani had also gone viral.

However, there were a few trolls on Twitter who started accusing SRK of spitting at the funeral and trolled him unnecessarily. 

A lot of people then came out in support of SRK including filmmaker Ashoke Pandit and actress Swara Bhasker. 

She slammed the trolls and wrote, “हर रोज़ ये नफ़रती चिंटू अपनी नफ़रत को जहालत में छुपाकर अपनी तंग दिली का सबूत देते हैं। शाहरुख़ तो फिर भी दुआ फूँक रहे हैं पर इन नफ़रती लोगों की मानसिकता इस देश से बाहर थूके जाने लायक़ ही है! (Everyday these hatemongers spread hatred. Shah Rukh Khan was merely blowing duas but this hate filled mindset of such people should be spit out of the country)”

Reacting to Swara’s tweet in support of SRK, one user replied, “Swara ji, jitni mehnat yeh log nafrat phailane mein lagate hain agar uss ki half bhi apni life sudharne mein lagade na toh apna desh kaafi aagey badhega...”

Meanwhile, Ashoke Pandit had tweeted, “Fringe targetting @iamsrk by falsely accusing him of spitting at #LataMangeshkar Ji’s funeral should be ashamed of themselves. He prayed & blew on her mortal remains for protection & blessings in her onward journey. Such communal filth has no place in a country like ours”.

It’s really a shame that trolls didn’t even spare the funeral of Lata Mangeshkar, a legendary who was known as the Nightingale of India to spew venom against Shah Rukh Khan who was merely following a ritual.
