Gautam Gambhir Feeding The Poor For Free Is The Best Thing A Cricketer Has Done in Years

For a man who once ruled the charts at the top order, Gautam Gambhir has not played a single game for India since his outing against England in November 2016. The out-of-favour Indian opener is now left to ply his trade in domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League.

It's safe to say that his international career is probably over with the Indian team moving on to other options for their opening slot. While many would generally find it hard to cope with the bitter reality, Gambhir has not let it affect him. In fact, the Delhi cricketer has used it to do much greater things off the field.

© BCCL

From supporting Indian jawans fighting at the border to influencing many lives through his foundation, Gambhir seems to thriving in his second innings away from the playing field. A similar effort by the dashing opener has once again come to fore as he attempts to help the needy.

Through the Gautam Gambhir Foundation, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain launched a campaign to feed the poor, free of cost in New Delhi, with Patel Nagar being his first Community Kitchen. With his latest initiative, Gambhir intends to help the poor fight hunger and not sleep with an empty stomach.

Won World Cups, Won IPLs,beaten https://t.co/0aQ463XMdf time 2 win hearts & beat hunger.
