A few weeks back, Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor’s husband Anand Ahuja took to Twitter to complain about the “horrible experience” he had while dealing with an international shipping company.
He tweeted, “Does anyone know someone at @MyUS_Shopaholic - I’ve been having HORRIBLE experience recently. They are holding items improperly, rejecting formal paperwork & refusing to acknowledge any reasoning.”
Sonam shared the tweet and wrote, “Terrible customer service is shameful”.

Responding to Anand’s complaint, the company accused him of tax fraud and claimed that he provided fake bills.
The official Twitter account of the shipping company wrote, “This is not a matter of customer service quality, new policies, or holding items improperly as was tweeted. Mr. Ahuja misrepresented the price he paid for sneakers purchased on eBay which would result in him paying less duties and taxes.”
They followed it up with, “The doctored invoices list prices that were up to 90% less than what he paid for the goods. While our policy is to do our best to rectify any customer issues, we have a duty to uphold regulatory compliance.”
And further added, “Put very simply, we have a legal obligation to provide accurate information when sending international shipments. Both MyUS and Mr. Ahuja are subject to international export rules, and we intend to follow them.”

He further tweeted, “Anyways now have moved all items and closed my account. Gooooood riddance!”

Reacting to Anand’s tweet of calling the allegations “baseless slandering”, one user replied, “Sue them if it was "baseless slander"?”
Another wondered why it took him 11 days to respond to the allegations. The tweet read, “11 days you took to reply to charges of duty evasion. People are smart enough to understand that one had to hire experts for above script writing. Ahuja sue them they have tarnished your image to tax evader, Matlab Chor.”
One tweet read, “OMG first Mr Ahuja tries to ch€at the govt by paying lesser taxes and then he tries to use his wife's PR to target an online brand. All the wealth in the world cant rid some ppl of the greed”.
